Saturday night nausea: Watch Hillary grovel at the Yearly Kos
Here you go:
Pay attention as Hillary adopts Kos-ese while praising the nutroots for “standing up to the right-wing Republican noise machine,” jokingly blames the “vast right-wing conspiracy” for a microphone glitch, and claims credit for helping establish Media Matters and the Center for American Progress.
Also this: “Don’t tell anybody, but I actually read blogs.”
She also takes a swipe at Bill O’Reilly–red meat for the blue crowd, of course. “I was very proud of my campaign standing up and calling O’Reilly out…I thought Howard [Wolfson] did a terrific job going into the lion’s den.”
More cheers than boos. But there were boos.
The Kossification of the Democrat Party is complete.

No CLEVAGE !!!
Thanks be to the handlers for that!!
I dunno, Dersu. I see a jacket and a scarf with skin showing in between. Probably best that Michelle didn’t post a picture that shows more detail.
I made through about 2 mins.,can’t take any more.Is there a transcript? It might be iteresting,or at least good for a laugh.
I would have liked to have heard some of the nutroot questions to the Momma nutroot.
Otherwise this was just another pandering
session. no big deal.
This convention is one of many reasons that the democrats running for President are simply fighting amongst each other for the right to be the least irrelevant.

Send in the clowns! Oh wait, that already happened.

Don’t worry, Hillary will be on Fox (and maybe O’Reilly’show) soon enough. She’s a media whore (not as much as Edwards, but still) and it would go against the Clinton mantra to not exploit every media opportunity.
KOS AWAY HILLARY! YOU’RE GONNA LOSE THE ELECTION IN 08.
Hillary Clinton will win the democratic nomination and lose the general election.
Why? Because Hillary, unbeknownst to herself, is the door opener for the first woman who will eventually be elected President of the United States.
The US electorate doesn’t do anything all at once, such as elect a Black President. It will elect a ticket with a Black VP first.
Same with the first woman elected President: VP first.
First Lady to President is too big a leap for the electorate to make.
And too many people don’t think of this former first lady as “beloved”.
Think what you will about LBJ, people respected and loved Ladybird Johnson. Not saying she would have been electable….but she fit the role of First Lady.
Hillary was an unelected Evita figure in that role. Bill shoved her down our throats with the botched Hillary Care initiative.
So the country will give her her due as a “Candidate” but they won’t, in the end, elect her.
And my prediction as far as the first woman president is concerned is that she will be an Independent or a Republican (not Rice either).
The facts belie that Hillary made it here on her own.
Would she be anybody in politics if she had not ridden the Clinton train through the White House?
Compare that to the road taken by McCain. I’m no fan of this guy. But look at the dues he has paid.
Where are Hillary’s? Even Nancy Pelosi (whom I loathe and despise as a human being and as a legislator from across the Bay)paid her dues to become the first woman elected Speaker of the House by her peers.
Hillary has too much baggage. Just like Al Gore. They are forever tainted by Bubba and his “legacy”.
Kos away, Hillary. It won’t mean a thing as far as changing your role in history as Mrs. Clinton- the first woman to be nominated by a major political party for President.
Saturday night nausea indeed.
I hope you will ask O’Reilly (on Monday) to view this “act” with the body language expert. To me, Hillary is telegraphing that she has no idea as to how to govern but would really enjoy the perks of office.
Zorro- it is all about the perks and power of the office. The country be damned. Spot on!

She might have been joking, but did she tell the rest of the people there that it was a joke?
I mean, they believe dumber stuff…
Hillary has doesn’t have a sense of humor.
If she is so proud of her campaign standing up to Mr. O, why doesn’t she appear on the Factor? Hint: she doesn’t want to be asked real questions. Just ask Senator Kerry, who did not go on the Factor when he was running.
I know alot of loyal Democrats who are not happy with Bush but who say under no circumstances will they ever vote for Hillary. Lots of Democrats don’t want another Clinton White House. I believe she’ll get the nomination, but won’t be elected.
She’s also proud of her “letter” to her supporters asking for signatures to stand up to the “administration” about its reluctance to share any potential strategic withdrawals plans from Iraq.
Claims she isn’t backing down in this “fight”?
Wants to win a battle but lose the war.
Not Presidential material.
Why is it that the DailyKos and MoveOn.org crowd have paid no price for their well-documented anti-Semitism? I’ll be honest, that’s what made me finally change my registration from Independent (about 24 years) to Republican last year, even though I’d been voting mostly Republican anyway. I realize you can get the occasional provocateur commenting on any of these websites (that’s what is meant by a “troll”, right?). However, there used to be a feature on one or both of these sites that allowed readers to vote their agreement or disagreement with comments, and the most virulent, Nazi-like, genocidal anti-Semitic comments got a lot of approval. Furthermore, there was documentation that these comments had been seen, and accepted, by the site’s operators. If the same thing had been done against blacks or Hispanics, there’d be a media furor. Genocidal anti-Semitism? Fine by the traditional media as long as it’s anti-Bush. How long are my fellow Jews going to keep supporting the people who want to kill them???
Well Damn, there’s 7:44 of my life I’ll never get back. Ick….
Just another example of the Clinton Template … customize the answers to the organization they are in front of … straight out of hubby Bill’s guide book … he would talk to 3 different and opposing organizations in the same day … get asked the same questions … and give 3 different answers … each tailored to the audience … and usually the answers were diametrically opposed to one another … but no one would call him on it …
As for me …
Rather be Pilloried,
Than to be Hillaried
A few points which cannot be ignored:
1 “I was very proud of my campaign standing up and calling O’Reilly out…I thought Howard [Wolfson] did a terrific job going into the lion’s den.”
The Lion’s Den! Well, this dovetails with what I’ve been saying for weeks about the Democrats being too C-O-W-A-R-D-L-Y to debate on Fox News, the most watched cable news organization in the world. The left is serving up the arguement for all the right on a silver platter and yet most are too “high road” to use this gift being given to us so freely. After all, as has been said before, the arguement that if the Drems can’t stand up to a news organization, how will they stand up to world leaders and terrorists? The point must be made loudly enough until either the Dems respond more directly (and debate on Fox)or their timidity on the issue is such that even Joe America is aware that the Dems are running away from Fox out of fear - and that makes it a win-win for Repubs that we shouldn’t ignore.
Naturally, Hillary, pretending to be omnipotent to the point of devine detachment so as to not deal directly with such a frightening prospect, praises her staff for what she herself is too cowardly to do - be courageous enough to stand up to a simple news organization.
Should the time ever come that she herself enters “the Lion’s Den”, as our current President has done without hesitation, I hope that O’Reilly doesn’t treat her with kid gloves out of a misplaced respect for a Eveta the Carpetbagger and gives her the full Geraldo treatment she so richly deserves.
2. “Hillary adopts Kos-ese while praising the nutroots for “standing up to the right-wing Republican noise machine,”
This is clearly another swipe at Fox - a mens rea of 1st class preportions as she nervously wonders when the right will call her out on her cowardly boycott of Fox - something many of us are wondering.
3. May I ask a simple question? I’m a bit bewildered at some of the blogosphere nuances as of late: Who and what the hell is KOS that they command so much intense fear among the political left? Are they a huge corporation? Are they a multimedia conglomorate? Or it just a few guys getting some bucks from Soros who are so damned nasty that they generate such terror? Because if it’s the latter, particularly, and that’s all it takes to generate quaking fear among the candidates, then not a single one of them has the internal fortitude to even start daydreaming about being President Of The United States, let alone run for the office.

Welcome to my world here in Bolshevik Berkeley.
I am a “Zionist Sympathizer” when I speak out against AhmediNutJob’s plan for Israel.
I am backing genocide against the “poor Palestinian people” if I object to the Hamas platform.
Daily Kos is their daily bread here.
This comment might be getting old, But if she has to send one of her lap dogs to “stand up to the right-wing Republican noise machine,” and can’t face O’Reilly or Fox herself how the heck will she handle real problems? I’m sorry but all I heard was Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah…more rhetoric.
Off Topic message for Bear:
As I was listening to the 7:44 minutes of pain Barry hit #755
Bear said….
“then not a single one of them has the internal fortitude to even start daydreaming about being President Of The United States, let alone run for the office”.
Exactamundo!
As long as this gets enough publicity, it’s going to be a win for the right wing. So as far as I’m concerned, I’m glad Hillary went to KOS.
This woman is a Clear and Present Danger. She is a full-blown communist in Liberal clothing.
I have read and re-read her long-suppressed thesis now made available.
It behooves ALL of us to read it as well.
Remember the Oldie but Goodie song, The Backstabbers?
Maybe I’m just stuck on stupid.
Here’s how the “Democrats on Fox” issue plays out.
Democrats and nutroots fringe boycott FOX news.
Democratic candidates break ranks with nutroots and go on FOX News.
Then (surprise) Democrats do what Democrats do and claim they were “attacked” and say “See? We told you!”
Democrats control the focal point. (surprise!) What they actually “said” on Fox News won’t be the focal point of the aftermath.
The focal point will be “how they were treated”.
Where’s the golden opportunity in that exercise?
Cheating or not Barry still had to knock 755 over the fence. Hats off to those who do.
ajmontana- I think Mr C_C said that
opps, my apologies to the cat…..
Bear, post # 25,
Ah we go at it again. Very well, this is simple:
What you put forth, with all due respect, is speculation based on what you suspect will happen. What I put forth is essentially grounded in fact as we stand today, with speculation added additionally to drive home the arguement.
What you put forth, entirely, presupposes a series of circumstances which may or may not prove to be true, and then only if unchallenged by the right.
Recap:
1 Fact: The Democrat Presidential candidates will be more challenged during the primary by going on Fox News than if they don’t. (Additional suppositions of my own: They’ll spin either way, and if we don’t call them on it, then it looks like conservatives are rolling over at the idea that Fox isn’t a legit news agency by those who generally don’t pay that much attention to politics but vote in large enough elections to say the election by the 2 - 3 percentage points each side usually needsd to win. Besides, one of them might jusyt have a bad sound bite which haunbts them to election day ‘08, the thing they’re all probably most terrified of, and therefore a great reason to demand thatr they level the playing field).
2 Fact: The playing field is grossly unlevel. We cannot level it entirely, but that doesn’t mean we should throw our hands up and not try to level it a little. Demanding they go on Fox or make them look like cowards may be all we can do in terms of the media. (Opinion: so we should do it)
3. Fact: The Dems really, really, really don’t want to debate on Fox. (Opinion: I can think of no better reason than to demand they do as loudly as possible whenever possible.)
Can you get on board with this now, Bear?
Re: the quote I made attributed to someone else: Thanks, but I don’t care who gets the credit as long as the thought has some staying power.
pfft.
Hammerin’ Hank did it without drugs, and batting for two teams that had NO ONE behind him, so pitchers could walk him without fear.
Bonds has used a drugs that causes him to swing harder and faster, allowing more hits, which increases the chance of a home run ignoring completely the added power.
Bonds needs his home run count nullified, and a spot in the hall of fame that says “Cheating Bastard”.
For an example of how Democratic candidates may be treated on Fox, I refer you to Christopher Dodd’s face-off with O’Reilly. If they don’t have truth on their side, they’re in trouble.
I easily get my head around what you are pushing here, C_C. I did last week, and i will next week.
Get on board? I have a different view.
You are assuming my view is grounded on *speculation*.
We’ll see.
Best regards.
swj719AWG#30-
no argument from me. i don’t like the man.
Shoeless Joe got railroaded.
Life is not always fair, see Barry Bonds and Shoeless Joe for examples.
The most fun will be had if she gets nominated in the primaries and then sends the nutroots a silent, but major, “screw you” and moves to the center, in her voracious quest for power.
They will spew fire, claiming Gargantuan indignation, while voting for her anyway.
Ill-will-ery Cabbage KKKLintoon was tired garbage yesterday. And by yesterday I mean around 1980.
Enough! This is not a serious subject for grownups to be concerned about.
Is America ready for a woman president?
This is the baloney question that everyone will put up in front of this obviously mediocre phony.
The answer is SURE! Give me a Maggie Thatcher and I’ll march out to vote.
But don’t show me the distaff KKKlintoon’s tired and spurned genitalia and expect me to be excited about what they offer America’s future — as if anatomy were an idealistic cause.
This is all garbage and should be dismissed as such, loudly and unmistakably!
Barry,
“For an example of how Democratic candidates may be treated on Fox, I refer you to Christopher Dodd’s face-off with O’Reilly. If they don’t have truth on their side, they’re in trouble.”
Yes yes. Now imagine the whole line-up of democrat candidates (I won’t use the term Democratic anymore, because it carries undeserved prestige and suggests a political POV they have long abandoned), and watch the whole Dodd thing unspool on live TV times ten for 2 hours, then watch it happen a again on a couple of more nights. That or cowardly running from that scenario. A conservative win-win scenario, and why this idea, complaint and challenge must be repeated every day until it gets traction. You know, it’s so easy. All we have to do is keep saying it. So let’s do it. Let’s keep calling them on it. Day and night. Loudly. Very loudly. They get a pass too often; there should be no pass on this.
Bear # 32,
You civility is appreciated, but I press a single point:
“You are assuming my view is grounded on *speculation*.
We’ll see.
“We’ll see”, the very flower of speculation. What worries me is that I might just be right - about the consequences if they aren’t held to accound for “boycotting - i.e. running away hard in a frightened panic” Fox News.
Here’s a slogan for anyone who likes such things: It isn’t Fox News that isn’t fair and balanced - it’s the Democrat Presidential candidates who are running away from Fox who aren’t fair and balanced.
Hey Entelechy,
“The most fun will be had if she gets nominated in the primaries and then sends the nutroots a silent, but major, “screw you” and moves to the center, in her voracious quest for power.
They will spew fire, claiming Gargantuan indignation, while voting for her anyway.”
You really do make it sound fun - except for the last five words.
What merits support for the wife of an impeached president? Perhaps the same as that for the impeached president?
If yes, then, Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it. -George Wilhelm Hegel:.
If no, Hillary is already a lost cause.
Things are more complicated since Hegel’s day. It should be revised thusly for the upcoming elections:
“Those who cannot learn from history well enough to actively oppose those who ignore it in support of dicatators and monsters will certainly learn what it is to suffer under dictators and monsters again.”
Not a pretty little maxim to be sure, but perhaps more approps to what we’re facing now.
Hegel - oh, halycon days!
OK, it’s 6am and I watched a piece on th Today show about the KOS Konvention showing Hillary commenting on blogs, then Marcos talking about how blogs are empowering those without a voice andthen Arriana Huffington telling everyone that the MSM has a credibility problem. I thought I was watching the Space channel. There was no one from another perspective to provide even a semblance of balance. The good thing … it’s 6am and no one is watching.
‘Grovel, grovel, grovel….. Remember we picked Al Gore to be V-Pres, and he invented the internet.’
I like how all of the Pres. candidates said that they would appoint a White House Blogger if they were elected president. Left wing blogger or not, I think the White House Press staff might have a little hissy fit over that.
Hillary:
“I have been saying that based on my 35 years of fighting for what I believe in, I don’t think anybody will think I will be influenced [by lobbyist contributions].”
And then, in the very next breath:
“I will take money from lobbyists, because some represent real Americans like nurses and social workers, and they represent businesses that employ a lot of people.”
In other words:
“Lobby-Money has no influence, except when it has influence.”
Brilliant
Mr. C_C said-
““Those who cannot learn from history well enough to actively oppose those who ignore it in support of dicatators and monsters will certainly learn what it is to suffer under dictators and monsters again.”
If whomever is going to challenge the Democrats to an FNC debate are successful in getting them to engage on that turf, then we will still have to wait and see if the outcome is anywhere near what you are suggesting.
You assume that my view is based on *speculation*. I am keeping in mind, however, the old adage which says “The map is not the terrain.” The adage speaks to both of our positions.
The Democrats will ultimately debate on Fox. And they will go onto O’Reilly and do whatever else their critics and adversaries exhort them to do.
From there, what happens *is* all speculation until it shakes out.
I really like the quote you cited.
Here’s a corollary to it from Samuel Clemens:
“History does not repeat itself. It ryhmes.”
*In addition* to sound-byte gold prospecting on FNC debates, we have a huge opportunity coming up to pan the Democrat candidates with Petraeus’ report to Congress.
Mr. C_C how might this create pressure on the Democrats to at least enter the orbital sphere of presidential politics (in contrast to their current media banter)? What is your take?
KKKos will hate Hillary for a while and then fall back in love with her.
The libs have gravitated so far to the left that she is considered a “conservative”. The left is stuck with her unless they start up the “Draft Al Gore” machine. He’s anti-war, anti-gun and these lunatics love that ‘globaloney warming’ crap.
I found it interesting that nobody heard what she said until she said ‘vast right wing conspiracy’, then the microphone was working because everyone laughed and clapped.
The other large reception she got was when she said she was going to fix health care. What she didn’t say was that she was going to fix it by taking as much money from ‘we the people’ as it takes. Even if that means bankrupting the entire country.
I think she needs to be referred to as Hillary Tax Clinton just to make sure everyone knows what she’ll do if she’s elected. She may fix some problems, but she will take your money. That makes her unelectable.
Brian Mallard …
The space channel, that is hilarious! I think Zsa Zsa Huffington IS from another world all together.
Bear, Post, 43
“If whomever is going to challenge the Democrats to an FNC debate are successful in getting them to engage on that turf, then we will still have to wait and see if the outcome is anywhere near what you are suggesting.”
The suggested outcome is very similar, speaking of old maxims, to “absolute power corrupts absolutely”. What we have in the Democrats now is a party which more or less appears to believe that if they can only skirt the few venues that are not in their tent, that they can say or do just about anything without having to worry about being held accountable enough to concern themselves with such uncomfortable matters as logic, consistancy or providing the people with an honest, even debate on the issues for the education of the electorate before a primary. That’s the beginnings of a country shading into a dictatorship.
“You assume that my view is based on *speculation*. I am keeping in mind, however, the old adage which says “The map is not the terrain.” The adage speaks to both of our positions.”
I don’t want to beat this point to death, and am happy top let it go if you will, but in response once again I have to say that your apparent lack of desire to hold the Democrat candidates to anywhere near a level playing field in the election appears to suppose a certain set of results with or without the debate. I’m simply saying first and foremost that the playing field is more level if they debate on Fox than if they don’t. In my mind this is a critical issue in a time when the liberal aspect of the MSM already outnumbers its conservative counterpoint 9 - 1. It’s also an aspect of the election in which the courage of the candidates can be made an issue, and rightfully so. These are not small issues.
Mark Twain’s brilliance was wasted on his time. We need him now.
The problem with hoping that Petraeus’ report to the congress will have a potential negative impact on the Democrats is representative of what this whole issue is about: the Petraeus report, like everything else, will be strained, spun and filtered through the liberal media prism. We’ve never seen supposed news organizations so blatantly, unapologetically and arrogantly biased in favor of one side and actively prejudiced toward the other. The Petraeus’ report will only have media legs if there is something that supports a viewpoint which will further the prospects of the Democrat candidates.
The left wing media learned some important lessons over the past 15 years: instead of attacking the likes of Limbaugh and Hannity, they now ignore them, and by that I mean shut out the impact of their voices except to their immediate audiences. They used to do conservatives an unintentional favor by ridiculing the right wing radio media, because in so doing they called attention to those commentators and being able to stand on their own, those commentators were able to achieve some conversion among the masses. Now there’s as much of a blackout as is possible, and you can see the results not just in Presidential polling, but polling on specific issues, which reflect a majority of Americans parroting the MSM, regardless of how sensless some of those points of view may be in the cold light of day.
To get back in the game, the right needs to somehow get the left onto their turf again once in a while to have some kind of meaningful debate on the world stage. By speficially boycotting Fox, the Democrat Presidential Candidates have given the right a desperately needed opportunity to call them out on the boycott under its more appropriate name, cowardice, and either have that as a defined issue - and that’s a killer - or get them on Fox news, where mining for sound bite prospects are indeed much better than under the current circumstances. Once again, the only way for conservatives to lose on this issue is to do what many are already doing: sit on the issue and assume it’s a non-issue, and carried to its logical conclusion, that’s a blueprint for an election disaster.
So often the right has lost painfully in elections where winning seemed so simple merely because the mindset of the politically-oriented right assumes that the larger electorate can somehow understand issues even if those issues are not clearly put before them and repeated enough to be remembered. The left has known the reverse for decades, and the right better start learning the fallicy of their mindset in a very short number of months, because while we talk a wide variety of issues on the basis of their intellectual honesty, the left is putting everything through an election-cycle filter, and the elections of 08 will be upon us before we know it.
We can simplify it easily, though, for the people on this board: Everyone on this board either has 1. the majority extremely negative view of the Democrat candidates or 2. is on the left and knows how the majoprity feels on the issue. For the former group, the fact that the Democrats refuse to debate on the one network they admit they feel doesn’t favor them is enough to demand that they debate in that venue on at least a few occasions, and to demand it as loudly and frequently as possible, and to begin making those demands immediately.
All Americans should have enough decency and moral principle to establish that no candidate that colludes with the likes of Kos will be considered as a viable candidate.
Why doesn’t someone just make a video/ad consisting of Hillary and Obama at the Kos convention speaking, and in between their Marxist soundbites, show screen shots from Kos diarists, (like the moral retards statements about our troops…)? It would be very effective. No voice over necessary. Everything would speak for itself.
All,
Okay my daily Imus comment so Hillary Clinton, is taking credit for establishing Media Matters, then Hillary’s folks did make the Political Hit on Don Imus. I hope he is back on air sooner then later and we get to hear even more on the subject. This is an arrow in the quiver for the Conservatives, this is an attack on Free Speech.
The rest, you know you would think, the woman would listen to her husband and stop BUTT KISSING the uber left. Hillary you are running for President of the whole country not just LA and NYC, she may make it through the primarys but this visit to this org is going to come back and haunt her in the National Election. Why does she want to alienate the Independents and the Swing Vote? Who does she think is going to get her elected to the highest seat in the land? Hillary Clinton, is arming the Opposition, they are adding arrows to their quivers, everyday she panders.
Foxforce91,
“Why doesn’t someone just make a video/ad consisting of Hillary and Obama at the Kos convention speaking, and in between their Marxist soundbites, show screen shots from Kos diarists, (like the moral retards statements about our troops…)? It would be very effective. No voice over necessary. Everything would speak for itself.”
Great idea, Foxforce. Maybe this is the kind of effort it’s going to take. I’m not U-Tube savvy, but I do know video production. I think it’s time to roll the sleeves up and get crankin’.
