    How can the insensitive NY Times editorial staff do this? Don’t they know that there are many homeless folks in NYC who depend on the Times for warmth? They’re making life for these folks even more difficult than it already is! Let’s lobby Congress to combat the trend of shrinking newspapers! Let’s start a government program or something. We’ll be federally subsidized in no time.

    Other than needing something specific in the paper, like a coupon, I still refuse to subsidize these socialists. I haven’t bought a paper just to read it in years, and I dearly enjoy watching their death spirals.

    I don’t want to read a sports section that can’t even get the teams in the World Series correct. What I remember is that it made the local news that the NYT reported that the Cardinals defeated some team other than the Tigers in the World Series, but I can’t find anything about it by googling right now.

    From a media perspective, I can’t believe they missed a plum opportunity to appeal to their core base readership: they could have said that they were making the format smaller to save paper in solidarity with those who are attempting to save the forests as well as cut down on waste products destroying the planet. They must be getting slow.
