Fed up with Lindsey Grahamnesty
Some of Sen. Grahamnesty’s constituents show their disapproval:
Monday night’s Greenville GOP executive committee’s censure of Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham shows that “grassroots activists…are thoroughly fed up with” him, Samuel Harms, county party chairman, said this morning. Graham was censured for his support of an immigration bill and comments later made to a Hispanic civil rights organization.
Of course, they are being branded “extremists:”
Rick Beltram, Spartanburg County GOP chairman, is skeptical of any long-term impact on Graham.
“This was a small group of extremist Republicans who wanted to have a voice and in an emotional moment, blurted it out,” he said.
Emotional moment? No, this is an emotional moment. And this is an emotional moment.
Graham’s Johnny-come-lately act on immigration enforcement ain’t foolin’ no one.

Reap the whirlwind, “my friends”.
Maybe we will get more hilarious video of another Grahamnesty hissy-fit, fists pistoning up and down like he’s a toddler refusing that yucky medicine! Hahaha!
You got that right!! After telling us over and over how border enforcement was impossible without a “comprehensive” (cough amnesty cough) solution, we’re suddenly supposed to believe that now he’s on the enforcement-first bandwagon?
Even though he says he’s on the right side of the issue now, it’s just a matter of political expediency after realizing how badly he misread his constituents and the base in general.
Wondering what all of his (former?) amnesty-lovin’ allies have to say about his sudden change of heart.
Sooooooooo….
a GOP Executive Committee at the local level is extremist for calling for a censure of an alleged GOP politician who breaks from the Conservative philosophy of their constituents is “extremist”.
But a Democratic Senator from my state puts forth a bill which calls for the censure of GWB, Cheney & Gonzales ( Which I, as his constituent, disagree with ) – and he’s not ‘extremist’?
caught .. on the wrong side of the fence. ouch.
Life is so unfair sometimes and then sometimes so sweet ..
Ironic that ‘emotional’ would be the term used to describe anyone critical of lamentable Lindsey.
Pay the piper, Graham. Accountability is a local deal all the way. Prima donas like Graham get to Washington and lose their minds.
You’d have sworn Graham had found a second calling when it comes to Shamnesty legislation.
What I wonder is why he never asked the locals if they heard that phone ring too?
NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION.
Graham…that cracker!….he is like many of those crooked rascals we elect…they become untouchable…voting them out is all we can do…Graham needs to leave the party…we deserve better….oh wait…but I’m way to extreme…sorry…
Anyone want a glass of milk with that Graham Cracker? …
I guess we’er all extremists here in the upstate of SC too. During the shamnesty debate I honestly heard talk of lynching the twerp. The elites who still support the traitor are in for a shock come Noveber.Rick Beltram may be looking for a new gig too if he dosen’t keep his stupid trap shut.
We live in the overtaxed and corrupt state of NC, but the influx of new residents is challenging the Democrat stranglehold. John Edwards was NOT re-elected to the Senate! Our neighbors in SC have spoken out against one of their own party … further evidence that the South is no longer interested in politics-as-usual!
Graham thinks he has enough money to get re-elected even though he has betrayed & humiliated us. I have promised him that I will do everything within my power to promote his defeat. Surely the people of South Carolina have enough self respect to turn Graham out of office. It’s a matter of principle: anyone but Graham.
When I read this, I wondered, What “Hispanic civil rights organization”?
Well, no, I didn’t really. From the article: “[County GOP chairman] Harms referred to remarks attributed to Graham at the annual meeting of the National Council of La Raza, a Latino civil rights and advocacy organization.”
Does anyone know of any mainstream newspaper that refers to a white supremacist group as a “civil rights and advocacy organization”?
I supported Lindsay over his democratic liberal opponent as well as Jim Demint. I will patiently wait for his explanation. Maybe this local reaction will add a dose of reality. We are fed up with Illegal, criminal aliens killing our good citizens and then getting off, or running away scot-free.
Definition of “grass rooter” whatever the issue your goal is to NEVER, EVER COMPROMISE. You are elected to do nothing, because to do something means you may actually pass a law that is not perfect in every possible way.
If any Democrat (but Joe Liberman) votes with you, you are a sell-out and should be censured or worse.
Now why do all of you keep telling me that liberals are childish?
Re: #13
Ah…ahhh…..AHHCHOOO!!!!
Sorry, strawmen make me sneeze.
Following a series of interconnected links from this page, I ran across this at MinutemenProject.com. This is a NEW one, folks.
Four counts of homicide for one shooting? I’d like to know just how creative they’re going to get in “law” enforcement!
I can still see Sen. Lindsey Graham yuking it up with Sen. Ted Kennedy in that group photo, just before shamesty was defeated. Also remember Lindsey “Goober” Graham wants judicial rights for the prisoners at Gitmo as well as terrorist caught on the battle field. People in SC are not extremists, they are just invoking their God given right. They voted him in they can vote him out. What is this the Roman Senate or the US Senate? Grrrr do not get me going… Term Limits is what we need! If it good enough for our Presidents it’s good enough for the elitist bums!
I find US Citizen hating, silent invader loving, give away the country supporters as extremists like Rick Beltram. I’ll bet voters will agree if he would like to wager anything on it.
**crickets**
Nah, I didn’t think so.

“caught .. on the wrong side of the fence. ouch.”
If there was a fence…
Yeah, what
fenceinhumane rights denying environmentally destructive apartheid great wall of AmericaLet’s see…censured at home on Monday…I get an email from Grahamnesty on Tuesday morning, touting his tough new stance against illegal immigrants…could there possibly be any connection…?
Gramnesty is going to learn from John McCant what happens when you go against your base. The media says that McCant is suffering because of the war but the real reason is scamnesty.
re: #22
Yeah, it’s pretty funny since even McCain has publicly noted that the amnesty legislation had a huge impact on his campaign.
After pandering to criminal votes: http://www.ontheissues.org/celeb/John_McCain_Immigration.htm Johnny is jumping ship: http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8QP68K80&show_article=1
Ironic how quickly and strongly he has embraced a position which he painted only a few short weeks ago as bigoted, ignorant and extremist.
I would have a lot more respect for a man who stuck to his beliefs, if in fact there are his beliefs. If there was any doubt before, Graham has made it clear he stands for nothing except self preservation and that he is another spineless elected official with no honor.
Censure of lawmakers sounds like a great idea, in a national referendum sort of way.
Seems like I’m seeing more freshly arrived illegals than ever here in Cheecago, Mexinois.
Shamnesty defeat notwithstanding, I don’t think there are any changes in Jorge’s open borders policies. “My way or the highway” has been his wont, and I don’t think Jorge really cares much for the American people. From his lofty perch hobnobbing with corporate cronies, the American people are merely overpriced labor.
