Newark case update: More arrests, more “undocumented” criminals
There have been more arrests in the Newark execution murders. Guess where they were headed? Geraldo thinks it’s “irrelevant.” Law enforcement officials, fortunately, took the suspects’ criminal alien status quite seriously:
Authorities arrested two more suspects Saturday in the slayings of three college students who were shot execution-style in a schoolyard, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to five.
The two additional suspects were found in suburban Washington, authorities said.
Rodolfo Godinez, a 24-year-old Nicaraguan immigrant, was arrested in an Oxon Hill, Md., rooming house just north of the I-495 Beltway at about 1 a.m., said John Cuff, an investigator with the U.S. Marshals Service.
An unidentified 16-year-old, believed to be Godinez’s half brother, was arrested in Woodbridge, Va., about 45 minutes later. Both were awaiting extradition to New Jersey, Deputy U.S. Marshal Bill Sorukas said.
Authorities were still searching for an additional suspect.
Re. Godinez’s immigration history:
Immigration and Customs Enforcement records indicated Godinez may also be in the country illegally. Rodolfo Antonio Godinez Gomez entered the U.S. from Nicaragua on Oct. 24, 1992. He was ordered deported on May 5, 1993, but it isn’t clear if he ever left the country, according to Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontura.
“It seems to me that he was illegal,” he said.
More individuals of “irrelevant” citizenship status were taken in:
The search team, which included the FBI’s Fugitive Task Force, staked out the address in Maryland where Godinez was staying after receiving a tip that he was planning to flee to Texas and then to Mexico, according to James Plousis, a U.S. marshal who is responsible for New Jersey.
The tip came from a confidential informant working with federal law enforcement, Cuff said.
Nearly 10 other people, Sorukas said, were arrested for immigration violations in the operation.
In Virginia, Prince William County Police said three others were arrested at the Woodbridge address where the 16-year-old was found. They were arrested on charges of immigration violations and obstruction of justice.
Oh, and by the way, the D.C. suburbs in Maryland and Virginia where these suspects were apprehended are infested with MS-13, the illegal alien crime syndicate to which several of the accused murderers have been tied.
Lawhawk has more. The Star Ledger details the escape plans of Godinez and his brother:
Rodolfo Godinez, 24, was arrested at a squalid apartment house in Oxon Hill, Md., at 1 a.m. His 16-year-old brother was taken into custody 45 minutes later in Woodbridge, Va.,about 20 miles away, authorities said. Godinez and his half brother, whose name was not released because he is a juvenile, were planning to travel from Virginia to Texas to Mexico to El Salvador to escape arrest, authorities believe.
“This was just a heinous manifestation of evil by these individuals,” Booker said at the press conference.
Godinez, who has been described as a “principal player” in the schoolyard murders, was found in a squalid home with eight other people, U.S. Marshal James Plousis said.
Godinez, a Nicaraguan who has permanent resident status in the U.S., is being held at a jail in Prince Georges County, Md. A New Jersey Superior Court judge set his bail at $1 million, Essex County First Assistant Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray said during the Newark press conference.
It was information police received at the building where Godinez was collared that finally led them to his half-brother, Plousis said. Agents had been closing in on the 16 year old late Friday night. A tip had led them to the block in Woodbridge where he was reportedly staying but they didn’t know what apartment he was in before his half-brother was taken into custody.
The 16 year old is now being held in a juvenile facility in Prince William County, Md., authorities said.
Perhaps it’s time to stop pussyfooting around the criminal alien gang angle. Flashback:
Newark officials have bristled at the suggestion of a gang angle to the shootings.
“At this point there is nothing in this case that indicates that this has to do with a gang angle, gang initiation, or gang violence,” Garry F. McCarthy, Newark’s police director, told the New York Times. “The motivation seems to be a robbery. Whether or not a 15-year old kid claims he is an MS-13 member, there’s a difference between a gang member and a wannabe.”

Interesting to note that once illegals discover that the law enforcement personnel have become serious about finding and prosecuting them, they run back to Mexico. Perhaps there’s a lesson to be learned here?
rooming house=former middle class single-family home.
I guess we’re supposed to be happy that the FBI are all involved and on the manhunt. I would give the mayor and his city credit if they would enforce law and order before kids are executed in the street, not after.
I keep getting flashbacks of Al Capone’s vault…
C’mon now…Bush says we “have to welcome the newcomers.”
We must’nt treat MS-13 and friends with intolerance.
Actually, Prince William County, where Woodbridge is located, has gotten much more serious about illegal immigration and has really started to crack down on illegals because of political pressure. The MS-13 alien murderers went to the wrong county. They should have come to Fairfax County, right next to Prince William, with 1,000,000 people and run by Democrats, which is mired in MS-13 problems and illegal immigration and has STUPIDLY just declared itself a sanctuary county for illegals. http://www.bvbl.net/index.php/2007/08/18/the-illegal-alien-issue-moves-to-liberal-jurisdictions/
Here is what the County Spokeswoman says:
That makes me want to puke. We citizens are getting sick of this “diversity” of vandalism, gang warfare, Democrats busing illegals to vote for Democrats with their illegal drivers licenses, and now executions of American citizens. Please deport ALL of them NOW and get rid of Democrats–who will NEVER enforce our laws.
And according to Rasmusson 58% of those Americans polled want to pull Federal funds for sanctuary cities. Anyone want to bet that that same poll next month will put the percentage much higher? When will these clown figure out that it’s not the immigrant people have a problem with, it’s the illegal.
Thanks for the update Michelle.
Rounding up these “undocumented” criminals is good medicine and just what the doctor ordered. Our immigration policy has been sick since it was “fixed” by that famous driving instructor and social engineer, Teddy Kennedy back in the eighties.
I for one am hoping that you are working another book on the topic. The ensuing discussion would be a good shot in the arm if it were to be released next year at this time; just before the national conventions.
Strange Sen. Mel Martinez, the head of the Republican National Committee, claims no one else has a better solution to the illegal alien crisis.
http://anti-antediluvian.blogspot.com/2007/08/sen-mel-martinez-leadership-through.html
(Hope everyone caught the sarcasm there)
Yep … there sure is Dumb A__ … the difference is the wannabe has to commit a murder before he can become an MS-13 member … and that’s done under the direction of other MS-13 gang members
This “police director” doesn’t have a clue what these gangs are all about … he sounds like he thinks they steal hubcaps and T.P. trees in the neighbors yard … with such knowledgeable law enforcement in Newark it’s no wonder they have all the problems they do …
I think the sanctuary there is to protect the inept police department as much as the illegal aliens …
There is one way that a gang member “wannabe” can be a real member. Kill people, usually for no reason other than they needed to prove they could kill someone, anyone. I hope this brings the thunder down on those pathetic politicians in that county.
Brian72
Looks like we were on the same page on that one …
The “Rev. Al Sharptongue” was being interviewed by Geronimo tonight. And G spouted off that indeed this was a crime problem not an immigration issue since there was only “one” immigrant involved. No bias there nor uninformed thinking/talking. Geroundo should read Michelle blog more often so he can speak informed.
Yep, great minds
drinkthink alike…….Does Bush have any shame? At all? Or does he think that a certain amount of dead, raped, robbed, beaten Americans is the price America must pay to fit his dream?
Illegals now are responsible for 31% of the crime in America by some estimates.
Almost every component of this story: MS-13 existing; Law enforcement and politicians seemingly confused on how to handle the crime issues regarding illegal aliens so as to work toward ending the problem; the established bee-lines from various states back to Texas and eventually to Mexico; cries of deversity instead of outrage at laws ignored and undone and people like Geraldo Jerry Rivers Rivera having enough traction in their grossly hispanic-biased, rule-of-law prejudiced arguements that they aren’t spit on in the street all grossly illustrate the central point of this problem and the prism through which this and all related problems must been seen: the problem of illegal immigration has been ignored by confused and cowardly officials for so long that any sense of true perspective on this devistating societal problem is being quickly lost. When thousands of illegal immigrants march with seeming impunity in the streets to demand better treatment and higher wages, then the situation has become infuriatingly absurd - and those astoundingly arrogant illegals who would perform such marches in a gross definace of US law should be arrested at those marches and deported immediately.
And Geraldo is wrong, of course, in the worst way possible - by missing or ignoring the point entirely. Debating whether or not this is an immigration or law enforcement problem in terms of writing future law is a red herring. The relevent fact in this story is that if the immigration rule of law as written had been enforced in the first place, those kids would be alive today and we wouldn’t be having this discussion. What Geraldo is therefore saying is not that we shouldn’t take X, Y or Z approach in future legislation. What his point must in fact be, truly, is that we ignore or wipe away the immigration laws that currently reside on the books in favor of seeming hands-off on Hispanics and only Hispanics since he never mentions any other illegal immigrant ethnicities - and that makes him a true-blue, pro-active, racially-motivated anarchist.
To put it bluntly, whether he knows it or not, that makes Geraldo a very wrong and horrendously irresponsible individual.
My family is from Essex county and mostly Black, my mother travels through Newark every day to get to work and I have a few uncles and cousins who live around there. They all say you can see the change in attitudes among the spanish immigrants and the racism is much more overt and hostile. I’m moving to S.C. and I’m trying to get them to move somewhere with more Black folk than spanish. They used to call me a bigot for saying that, but now they’re a little more interested in the area I’m moving to.
Anyone who lines up innocent college students and shoots them in the back of the head execution style, is no longer a “wannabe” gang member –– no matter what age they are.
Welcome to the club Junior.
Good post. Funny, isn’t it, how both Barack Obama and “Rev” Sharpton have both been playing up lately to the Hispanic “activists.” In other words, they have been playing up to those who hate them (at least in many cases).
It needs to be said to the “authorities” that continued “benign neglect” of the illegal immigration problem has already led to one form of pervasive violence — that of illegals preying on the law-abiding populace. What needs to be made clear is that if this problem is allowed to continue to fester, the law-abiding may well soon begin to feel compelled to take the law into their own hands. Want to bet that the MSM, which — wherever possible — studiously avoids mentioning the illegal status of criminals involved in heinous crimes of violence, will holler from the rooftops the ethnicity and political persuasion of the first (formerly) law-abiding whites or blacks who — should it ever happen — hunt down and kill MS-13 gang members to keep their communities from being overrun by these animals?
Again, Tom Tancredo has the clear, firm and an uncompromising approach to illegal immigration. Too bad that on one hand, those very people eho complain about illegal immigration, dismiss patriots like Tom Tancredo as ‘zelots’.

In case anyone missed it, a good article in the Wash Times from yesterday.
MM Article
I can’t stomach Geraldo. That guy has always been “off the wall”. I’m not at all pleased that FNC re-hired him. It was nice for the time he was gone from Fox. When he comes on any program, I reach for the clicker. Why did Fox re-hire Geraldo. He sure doesn’t fit their image. He would fit better with Chris Mathews and Keith Oberman ( the liberal blow hards )on MSNBC.
“Only here to do jobs Americans don’t want to do.” - GWB
“Who’s going to pick our lettuce?” - Michael Chertoff
I would say the only thing that infuriates me is that these incidents have occurred with largely Spanish-speaking criminals. This helps emphasize Geraldo’s claim that this is nothing but a “racist attempt” to attack Hispanics.
Meanwhile, the MSM ignores stories like the Albanians at Fort Dix. I don’t know if this is intentional, but it helps exacerbate the perception issue above.
The message is clear: We must remove from the population ALL ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. They refused to follow the laws of this Nation to obtain legal right and status, and therefore we must assume they will also ignore all other laws of this Nation, or the State or locality.
The snowball has gathered momentum. The Feds refuse to do their jobs, so states are stepping in and fighting Federal authority that was abdicated. Localities like Prince William County, VA, and Anne Arundel County, MD have passed ordinances to increase local enforcement. What #19 talks of has started, as I have known many more people who are arming themselves.
Federal claim v. State’s (People’s) rights. Sounds familiar. Last two times we had this discussion on a National level, it was violent and bloody. We divided this great Nation in half once over this.
On a separate but similar topic, 33 Questions About American History You’re Not Supposed to Ask has some great discussion bordering a lot of topics MM has brought up lately. If you’re a history buff…..
OT— Fox reported a Dem debate, I cant find it on tv? anyone know if it’s on? thought it was set for 9am est????
and HotAir web site is having tech. probs.
Rob Taylor, let me be the first to welcome you to SC. Like everywhere else in America we have illegals and we do have some gang problems but it is 1000% better than NJ. I know because I retired from a police department in MD.
As for Geraldo, he is a full blown moonbat who wouldn’t admit that there is an immigration problem unless he was attacked by MS-13. His answer to the illegal gang problems is to give them all amnesty. That’s one way to temporarily eliminate illegal gamgs, just make them “Legal” gangs.
Geraldo is nothing but a racist who places hispanics above the well being and security of this country.

The latest of the neverending DemoCrap debates is an extended version of “This Week with George Stephanopolous” on your ABC station … some local stations do not show that program live but tape it and broadcast it later in the day …
TY,DL……
Morning All …
When are we going to quit calling these people “Illegal Immigrants” and start calling them what they are “Illegal Aliens” …
To be an “Immigrant” you have to have emigrated to another country legally under the laws of the country you relocated to … since these people are not here legally they do not deserve the aura of legitimacy that is conveyed to them by using the word “Immigrant” …
They are “Illegal Aliens” … in other words … foreigners that have entered our country outside of the immigration policy and laws of this country …
Lastly … can we please stop the plethora of “hyphenated America” … I am tired of hearing about “Mexican-Americans”, “Italian-Americans”, “Irish-Americans”, “Chinese-Americans”, et. al. …
You are either an AMERICAN or you are not an AMERICAN …
Your ancestry is something to be proud of … but to assimilate into this culture you have to be an AMERICAN FIRST … and your ETHNICITY SECOND …
I feel this “hyphenation” makes the ethnicity the over-riding part of the description … and continues to keep everything racially charged …
In the Marine Corps I did not see Black-Marines, or Chinese-Marines, or any other hyphenated Marines … I only saw fellow Marines and fellow Americans …
Am I the only one that is offended by this “hyphenated-American” BS???
BTW … I would wager that SSgt Dean would agree with my last regarding his fellow Marines …
Last week I was horrified to hear on national news the name of a town in northern Illinois that was in trouble for its vigilantism. Then a friend e-mailed a report of gang crime and vandalism where we went to high school (near Carpentersville). It was a great place to grow up, but that was long ago.
I’m with you DesertLover.

USMCgramma
I know what you mean … I remember growing up when the graffiti was on the local water tower saying “Joe Loves Sue”
Now it has cryptic meaning as “gang signs” and animalistic territory marking … it is all such trash …
My old H.S. was brand new when I went there … I was in the 2nd graduating class … now it is covered in gang graffiti and other verbage …
ajmontana
Thanks … sorry to get on my soap-box already this morning … lol
DesertLover - your “soap-box” is where more people need to be. I’m with you, also.
There is also a difference between a “wanna be” murderer and an actual murderer which these gang members actually are.
was ordered out of the country in 1993. He was 9 or 10. Many of the other criminal illegal aliens these days came into the US when they were young. Illegal aliens are dangerous at any age because they hang out with other dangerous illegal aliens. You are a product of your environment. As a child, if you’re surrounded by illegals and grow up with zero respect for the laws of the United States…well, what the frick do you expect?
Are you listening geraldildo? YOUNG illegals are killing our legal citizens, either while they’re still considered juveniles or a couple years later as adults.
DEPORT THEM ALL NOW. Each and every one of them regardless of age.
The 14th amendment does not allow for anchor babies. Babies born to illegal parents are illegal aliens. Period.
Stay on ‘em Michelle.
Stay on em Everyone!!!
I like the phrase “criminal aliens.” For some reason, “illegal” brings to mind nuisance crimes–e.g., it’s “illegal” to make a right turn on red if there’s a sign, but it’s “criminal” to line someone up against the wall and shoot them.
But wow, people who don’t mind the un-PCness of “illegal aliens” get really disturbed when you point out that people flauting the laws of the U.S. are criminals. I hope I shake them out of their complacency.
Jaded … the way they go from being “wannabes” to “members” is by actually murdering someone … and that pressure is exerted by the “members” they hang around with …
reine.de.tout
Thanks … good to know others feel as I do on some of this …
How about a compromise … let’s call them “Criminal Illegal Aliens” … sort of cover it all in one description …
I like scum sucking pigs, but that won’t fly….
hmmmm … just realized the acronym for that last would be … C I A … interesting coincidence I would say …
ajmontana
alas my friend … too much Congress and Emeril … “pork rules” … lol …
Add Outlaws to the end and you have CAIO… Caio Baby you’re outa here…..

I like it … lol
btw … I know you meant CIAO … lol

Hey DesertLover, we also dislike the hyphens here in the ville.
I’m an Irish-Scots-English-Dutch-Cherokee-American.
Where the hell is my grievance mongering harassment group? I demand representation!
This is my continent too darnit!
calamityville
Glad to hear that … this has been a “pet peeve” of mine for a long time …
Brian72
In my book you are an American with Irish-Scots-English-Dutch-Cherokee heritage …
All of which are things to be proud of as far as I am concerned …
All of us are immigrants of one type or another … but we are all Americans irregardless of our personal heritage and ancestry …
It is not like becoming a gang member is real work. It has been proven over and over again that any mindless thug can do it. Apparently that is also true of the Newark Police Department.
Do we really know what happened? Read what the people of Newark are saying.
http://www.newarkspeaks.com/forum/showthread.php?p=68856
It’s time to take America back, gangs, illegals and child abusers just make me sick. usmcgramma was talking about vigilantes earlier and if this kind of Bullcrap doesnt stop soon I’m sure we’ll be seeing more folks taking matters into their own hands.
In other words “I’m mad as hell and not going to take it anymore”
I thought that if people want to play the hyphenated-american game, I’m a mutt that can out-hyphen anybody! I hate that stuff, I’m American and so are the rest of us, regardless of where the genetic trail might lead.
Hey all you libs, drop the stupid hyphens and just be Americans for crying out loud!
Brian72
Thanks again for supporting the “de-hyphenation” of America …
Hey Everyone … Fox News has it that in Trenton, NJ they just arrested a 6th person in the execution style slayings … ICE was involved in the arrest … but they haven’t specifically said whether the individual is another “illegal” … so far we have Nicaragua and Peru identified as where part of the suspects came from …
This story gets more unbelievable every day.
And how did that guy Godinez get from being deported in 1993 to where he’s got “permanent resident status” now? Especially if they don’t even know if he left the country after being deported!
The immigration morons are going to be the death of us all.
mild correction … the story was out of Trenton … the arrest took place in Elizabeth …
Rick … you got that right … these criminals seem to have more rights than those of us born and raised here …
Yeah but Rick, it’s “Irrellevant” Geez.
Wait … wait … the Moonbats have the solution … more gun control!
corona
yep … pretty soon all the guns will be under control all right …
under control of the criminals …
dl, They better come here well armed.
ajmontana
same applies in my direction …
I figured….
OT– DL, Do you get channel 13 KCOP out of L.A. in Arizona? just curious…
not in Phoenix we don’t …
K, thanks
no problem
In the early days of converting average Americans into the politically correct, multiculturally approved mindless mindset we could tell your ethnic background simply by looking at you. We didn’t need to be told you were from Europe, China, Africa, or Mexico. We were all Americans, bound together by a common language, swearing our allegiance every morning by saying the pledge facing our flag, and taught we had forged the finest country ever to exit on God’s earth. We promised to protect it from all harm.
When groups rose up that wanted to change/alter or destroy this culture, in deference to other cultures, did the need for hyphenation rear it’s ugly head. It’s amazingly simple how easy it was. Divide and conquer. It starts by being made feel guilty and ends with laws to protect one group from another. Polarize, divide, re-interpret laws.
24Klady, yeah, makes ya wanna barf.
Geraldo, Jesse, Al … the 3 biggest racists in this country …
24Klady
I think much of this can be attributed to the ACLU … although it was created in the 1920s the ACLU really took on a life of its own during the Civil Rights turmoil of the 60s …
I would not be surprised to trace the first use of this ethnic American terminology to that time frame … most likely it was in reference to Black Americans …
I’ve been searching but have not yet been able to ascertain when this “hyphenation” junk first appeared … but most likely as the use of these ethnic American references became the PC preference the terms were put in the printed media more regularly and the hyphen probably got added at that time …
If someone can confirm how this stuff got started and when I would love to know myself …
DL, Try Anglo-Saxon…. way-back button.
In other words he did not show up for his court date.
Ironic, ordered deported cinco de mayo. and it’s also my birthday…sheesh.
DL, I know where you’re coming from and looking for a more recent date…
ajmontana
Thanks … just attempting to figure out where the hyphenating stuff came from and when … so all that I wrote was just my crazy mind trying to come up with a likely scenario … but I couldn’t find any confirmation or rebuttal to my theory …
Also … one of my daughters was born on cinco de mayo … she was only about 8 when we moved to AZ … so as a child she always said she loved it there because “everyone celebrated her birthday” … lol …
F15mech
I would say you are probably right that he didn’t show up for his deportation hearing …
I just heard they arrested Elvira Arellano in LA today…. fox reported…
It’s escalated far beyond just illegal immigration. Mara Salvatruca has amassed an extensive arsenal of shotguns and weapons, and they are recruiting everyone from school janitors to hotel maids for wide-scale theft rings. I think the time has come to use RICO and the same anti-Racketeering laws that brought down the Mafia, and would enable police to go after these thugs in a much more offensive manner. Employers that hire illegal aliens are also guilty of racketeering, IMHO.
Things are looking up!!!
aj … I missed that … not posted on their website yet … hope they boot her out of the country post haste …
she has flaunted our laws long enough …
Glamchild
you’re on the right track … gotta remove the “candy” that attracts them in the first place …
no jobs for illegals = no reason to come to this country illegally …
its posted on HotAir dl
aj … thanks
ajmontana and desert lover,
I remember the hyphen thing as being slow creeping. First I noticed were on job applications, and school enrollment. Affirmative Action my have contributed since you had to make claims for ethnic benefits. Yes, the ACLU played their games well. I’ll keep an eye on this thread in case you solve the mystery.
Maybe we should call the PC In-correct police
he he
seems I am no longer the only one that is interested in figuring out where the “hyphenation” came from … lol …
Maybe Geraldo doesn’t think we have enough murderers yet. The illegal aliens are needed to fill the void!
Geraldo’s problem is he is the one doing what he accuses everyone else of doing … equating the term “illegal” with “hispanic” … most of the other non-hispanic illegals have enough sense to keep their mouths shut and not try to demand “rights” that they are not entitled to as non-citizens of the USA
I’m for this one. “New-Senate”

house-cleaning aj?
Immigration-ism, huh?
lol, house-cleaning, gota like that one.
