   Likewise, I read Miniter’s article, and agreem with the above assessment. The terms “sociopathic” and “malignant narcissism” are wholly appropriate in application to Mr. Beauchamp.

   What was most interesting was reading about the pseudo-journalistic culture that has taken over at TNR:

   - Franklin Foer has his ideological blinders on so tightly that he can’t even recognize how he’s projectingg his own mental rigidity and close-mindedness on those who have pointed out the multiple, fatal flaws in Beauchamp’s accounts; and

   - The objectivity-destroying relationship between the author of those accounts and one of the “fact checkers” at TNR evidently failed to raise any eyebrows before, during or after Beauchamp’s fabulations put into print.

   Bottom line is, Beauchamp represents the third time in recent memory that TNR has let itself get snookered by its writers. In baseball and some criminal jurisdictions you get three strikes before you’re out; how many swishes does TNR get?

    Precisely! I don’t think they were duped. I think that they didn’t care if it was legit or not. They were just happy to have a story that painted the troops in some barbaric light.

    I would like to see several libel suits for millions of dollars each from the service men and women that TNR defamed. Then there might be some change.
