Attention, Democrats: Have you seen this man?

Update 9/6 12:13am Eastern. Last one for the night: Singing the Hong Kong Blues.

Update 11:15pm Eastern. Newsbusters observes the MSM’s incuriousity about the source of Hsu’s funds. So does Clayton Cramer, who chuckles at the Hsu puns, but has serious questions:

It’s all very funny–but the disturbing questions about where the money is really coming from (Red China, maybe, like apparently happened in 1996 for the Clinton/Gore campaign) are simply being ignored by the mainstream media. Admittedly, there’s no sex involved, so I guess that it doesn’t really matter, does it? Or is it just that the corruption involves Democratic politicians–and therefore it meets party standards for ethics?

Update 10:11pm Eastern. Love the NYTimes headline…“Clinton Donor Appears to Be a Fugitive Again.” Well, lookee here. The NYTimes changes its stupid headline.

And knock Hsu’s friends over with a straw:

Yesterday, the Clinton campaign called for Mr. Hsu to turn himself in.

“We believe that Mr. Hsu, like any individual who has obligations before the court, should be meeting them, and he should do so now,” the Clinton campaign said in a statement.

Even those who had initially defended Mr. Hsu when his legal problems became public were baffled. Bob Kerrey, the former Nebraska senator who is president of the New School in New York City, where Mr. Hsu was a trustee, could not explain Mr. Hsu’s behavior.

“I don’t know what is going on in his mind,” Mr. Kerrey said. “I thought that I knew him, but obviously I didn’t.”

Update 8pm Eastern. Our commenter jrlingreenbay gets the parody lyrics rewrite award of the day for “Runaround Hsu:”

Here’s my story, sad but true
It’s about a guy that I once knew
He [took my] money, then ran around
Giving money to every dem in town
Ah, I should have known it from the very start
This guy will leave me with a broken heart
Now listen people what I’m telling you
A-keep away from-a Runaround Hsu

I miss his cash and the smile on his face
The touch of his hand and this guy’s warm embrace
So if you don’t wanna cry like I do
A-keep away from-a Runaround Hsu

Ah, he likes to travel around
He’ll support you but then he’ll skip town
Now people let me put you wise
Hsu has his lawyers tell his lies
Here’s the moral and the story from the guy who knows
I fell in love and my coffers still grow
Ask any fool that he ever knew, they’ll say
Keep away from-a Runaround Hsu

Update 5:00pm Eastern. Patrick Kennedy was for keeping Hsu’s money before he was against it:

U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy changed his mind and will give to charity more than $6,000 in donations he got from Norman Hsu, a prominent Democratic donor who’s also a fugitive in California.

Kennedy announced Wednesday that he’s returning the money after Hsu failed to show up for a court date and a judge issued a new warrant for his arrest.

Update 3:20pm Eastern. Shells, shells, shells.

Update 2:25pm Eastern. Flip Pidot, whose investigative campaign finance work I spotlighted in my column today, asks the Dems the follow-up questions the MSM hasn’t asked:

Hey Rendell, Kennedy, you want to reconsider keeping that money now? And what about you, DSCC, DCCC, and the Democrat parties of 10 states, who took hundreds of thousands directly from Hsu and from his shady fundraising sources – are you ready to disgorge these funds yet?

The Examiner also cited Flip’s work.

Update 1:45pm Eastern. Snort: Hsu’s San Francisco attorney, Jim Brosnahan, said he did not know his client’s whereabouts. “It could be a mistake, somehow, on his part. It could be something else,” Brosnahan said as he left a Redwood City courtroom. “We don’t know.”

***
How do you say “Punked” in Chinese? The Democrat bagman is missing again:

Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu failed to appear Wednesday for a bail hearing and a judge issued a new warrant for his arrest.

Hsu forfeits the $2 million bail he posted last week.

Hsu’s lawyer said he doesn’t know where his client is.

Hsu had been a fugitive in California for 15 years during which time he became a top donor to Democratic candidates, including presidential contenders Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama.

Jim Hoft snarks: Maybe those Chinese gang members kidnapped him again.

Andrew Malcom at the LATimes blog: “By not appearing, Hsu forfeits his request to cut his $2 million bond in half. Maybe he had a sudden fundraiser of his own to attend.”

Dan Riehl blogs on the buzz from investigators that Hsu has possibly fled to Hong Kong. Update: Allah notes that the Hong Kong speculation referred to the last time he fled.

More from FoxNews.com:

California businessman Norman Hsu, a former New York apparel executive and major contributor to Democratic candidates and causes, failed to appear for a bail reduction hearing Wednesday, leading to speculation that he again is a fugitive from the law, FOX News has learned.

Hsu’s attorneys say they do not know his whereabouts, and that their client did not surrender his passport.

LA Times:

A warrant was issued this morning for Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu, who failed to appear this morning for a bail hearing on a 15-year-old grand theft charge.

Superior Court Judge Robert Foiles ordered Hsu, a major fundraiser for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign, to be held without bail should he make an appearance. Last week, he was released after posting $2 million bail.

Hsu’s attorney James Brosnahan, explained that he had lost contact with Hsu and that the financier had failed to deliver his passport as promised.

“Mr. Hsu is not here and we don’t know where he is,” Brosnahan said outside court. “We expected him to be here.”

Brosnahan told Foiles that a legal assistant for his law firm went to Hsu’s New York City condominium last week and spent 90 minutes searching for Hsu’s passport.

Chumps.

What will the Asian-American apologists say now?

I’ll agree the judge leaves a lot to be desired … but the prosecutor would have had to ask the judge to have Hsu surrender his passport … I don’t think the judge can’t rule on that unless the prosecution asks him to do it … maybe someone with more legal knowledge than I could enlighten us on that

The other day, Michelle asked us for input on any of our politicians who were recipients of Hsu’s tentacle arms of donations.

Well, it so happens that our Wisconsin Governor, Jim Doyle, was one of those recipients ( although listed as only taking $2000.00, I believe ).

From the June 2007 “Compass” publication from the Council of Great Lakes Governors:

In an event unprecedented in size or scope, Council of Great Lakes Governors Chair Wisconsin Governor
Jim Doyle recently announced the launch of over two dozen agreements worth over $20 billion in new U.S. sales to China.

Also found a reference to a ‘Paul Hsu’, ginsing grower here in Wisconsin, referenced by Doyle in March of 2004 in a Press Release during his trip to China:

After lunch, the Vice Mayor and I toured some businesses, including a processing plant for Hsu’s Ginseng. Paul Hsu is a Wisconsin businessman who grows ginseng in our state that is considered to be a very high quality product in China – even better than Chinese ginseng. Mr. Hsu exports his ginseng to China, and then processes it in this plant for sale to Chinese consumers. Wisconsin is a major exporter of ginseng to the Chinese, which helps create jobs in our state.

Now, I know there’s probably many ‘Hsu’s’ but the question still remains: any relation????????????

Passport? Do you think he would use his own? I don’t…he’ll have a fake made up, probably has three or four for just this type of need.
All the mob type criminals would say “he don’t need no stinkin passport.”

One’s got to wonder if Hsu is somehow connected to Soros. I don’t see how a former clothing executive could come up with this kind of money. Especially when the majority of his companies appear to be fake.

I believe the clintons taught hsu everything he knows…how to be a criminal, how not to get caught, how to run and hide, etc….has anyone asked bill and shill where their buddy might be? ( not that they would tell the truth, heck, they almost never tell the whole truth.)
Disgusting, perverted circle of thieves. America should be disgusted with everyone involved or NEAR hsu.
