Go ahead and spit, Geraldo

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 5, 2007 12:28 PM

Geraldo Rivera thinks I should be spit on because I believe citizens should inform law enforcement authorities if illegal aliens are living in their neighborhoods. If only someone had picked up the phone to let authorities know that criminal illegal alien Salvador Luna was living in their neighborhood, this monstrosity would not have taken place:

A 3-year-old girl was found abused and bleeding Thursday night, and officials have arrested her uncle, an illegal alien, for child molestation.

Salvador Luna, 29, who was previously deported, was arrested on suspicion of sexual abuse of a child and was taken to the Victorville sheriff’s station where he underwent a physical examination, said Detective Ryan Collins.

The victim was originally admitted to Victor Valley Community Hospital around 7 p.m. after her mother found the girl bleeding inside their home on Rockrose Street, said Detective Sgt. Bob Hughes.

“Her injuries were significant enough that she had to be admitted,” Hughes said.

Around 6:30 p.m. the mother, father, the 3-year-old and her siblings were watching television in the parent’s room, a few doors down from where Luna was staying, Hughes said.

The girl went to Luna’s room for a piece of candy, and when she returned, a sibling took the candy from her, authorities explained. The girl again went into Luna’s room, hoping to replace the stolen sweets.

“She is in the uncle’s room for a while this time, long enough for mom to wonder where she was,” Hughes said. “When mom found the child she could see that she was visibly upset. Mom picks her up and when she put her down, now there’s blood all over mom’s shirt.”

The woman took the child to a neighboring home where the resident was a nurse to have the girl checked out. The nurse immediately dialed 911 and advised the family to stay away from the home until authorities arrived, said Karen Hunt, spokeswoman for the Victorville station.

But of course immigration status and open borders have nooooothing to do with anything. Totally “irrelevant.”

More:

In 2000, Luna was arrested in Ventura County on suspicion of annoying or molesting a child and sexual assault, said Detective John Wickum. It is unknown whether Luna was convicted, but the family said he was deported shortly after, officials confirmed.

“His criminal history drops off in 2001,and he re-surfaces again in 2006 with a DUI arrest in Victorville,” Wickum said.

Additional information came in that there could be as many as four other family members who have been past victims, but that remained under investigation on Friday, officials said.

Anyone who may have information about Luna is asked to contact the Detective Bureau at the Victorville station at 241-2911.

I don’t want this scumbag deported. He will just come back again. He should be tried, convicted and sentenced to death. Then maybe El Presidente Calderon could deter his citizens from coming here illegally and raping children, all in the name of the human rights of Mexicans in America, of course. I wonder what the Macho Mustachio will have to say about this one? Probably nothing.

No deportation for this guy. His chances are all used up. Let him Ride the Lightning.

He will duck and dodge and deflect any connection to this person’s illegal status, saying it was not his immigration status that caused it, it was his sexual deviancy….

What he consistently neglects and refuses to admit is that if this scumbag wasn’t here in the first place, this would not have happened.

The only thing Geraldo is spitting on is the rights of American Citizens and the laws that are supposed to be governing us.

Interesting that the immigration status of the parents was not mentioned. Since the perp was illegal, it is not difficult to believe that the parents might be illegal, too.

    Who would call that irrelevent?

The system failed and continues to fail with respect to immigration. That is the only relevant fact. Criminals should be prosecuted regardless whether they are legal, or illegal.

When an illegal comes to the attention of the authorities (when they commit crimes, and even when they are the victim of a crime) they should be held and then deported.

It’s the system not an individuals status.

I put a post on the Washington Post last weekend, and I think it is apt here.

We need to start our own action to stop illegal immigration. It’s quite simple, and very legal. Just ask the places you shop, visit, dine at, or support if they hire illegal immigrants. Ask the home builders and owners who are selling if the house was built will illegal labor. Ask you grocer if the produce was picked by illegal farm hands. As your bank if they give accounts to undocumented people, in contradiction to Patriot Act statutes. And if you get a “Yes”, or no answer, simply take your business elsewhere.

No protests, no arguments, no debates. Just take your money (it is yours, not theirs) and spend it somewhere else.

Sure, lot’s will lie to our faces. Hell, we’ll even catch a few in their lies, and maybe make that public. But the strength here is the same technique as they used for Global Warming: If people hear it enough, it will become ingrained in their attitudes, and their practices.

    “What is it?
Airborne transmission occurs when bacteria or viruses travel on dust particles or on small respiratory droplets that may become aerosolized when people sneeze, cough, laugh, or exhale. They hang in the air much like invisible smoke. They can travel on air currents over considerable distances. These droplets are loaded with infectious particles.

With airborne transmission, direct contact with someone who is infected is not necessary to become ill. The amount of exposure necessary varies from disease to disease. With chickenpox, a child could easily catch it from another aisle in a supermarket. With tuberculosis, closer contact and less air circulation are often needed.

Many common infections can spread by airborne transmission at least in somecases, including:
    Anthrax (inhalational)
    Chickenpox
    Influenza
    Smallpox
    Tuberculosis

How can it be prevented? The best way to avoid airborne infections is to be in a different room from the person who is ill, with a closed door in between. If you need to be in the same room, wearing a mask may help for a brief exposure. Covering the mouth or nose when coughing or sneezing decreases droplet spread some.”

For the record Ms. Malkin, being a fan of somebody does not mean one has to be a sheep. I am a fan of yours, yet I actually disagree with your hard line stance on immigration (although I favor a much tougher stance than Geraldo).

I say this because civilized yet rigorous debate strengthens society, and Gerlado’s approach coarsens it.

Well said, “rigorous debate strengthens society”, but as we won’t be discussing many rhetorical and redundant items of the Constitution, I feel the discussion on illegal immigration has fully run it’s usefulness. Until the existing laws are obeyed fully, or re-written, further discussion is moot.
