Jihadists never rest
Update 11:15am Eastern. Well, knock me over with a straw: The jihadi suspects were getting unemployment benefits (via Allah).
***
Here’s a photo via Der Spiegel of one of the arrested German suspects being taken into custody:
And these are confiscated canisters labeled as hydrogen peroxide. German authorities say terror suspects arrested there yesterday, including German converts to Islam, had trained at Pakistani camps and had obtained 1,500 pounds of hydrogen peroxide for making explosives:
Read more about the arrests in Germany. And Denmark.
The German suspects were reportedly plotting a hit on a U.S. base and other areas where Americans gather:
Three suspected Islamic terrorists from an al-Qaida-influenced group nursing “profound hatred of U.S. citizens” were arrested on suspicious of plotting imminent, massive bomb attacks on U.S. facilities in Germany, prosecutors said Wednesday.
German Federal Prosecutor Monika Harms said the three, two of whom were German converts to Islam, had trained at camps in Pakistan run by the Islamic Jihad Union, a group based in Central Asia. They had obtained some 1,500 pounds of hydrogen peroxide for making explosives.
“We were able to succeed in recognizing and preventing the most serious and massive bombings,” Harms told reporters. Harms declined to name specific targets, but said the suspects had an eye on institutions and establishments frequented by Americans in Germany, including discos, pubs and airports. Sudwestfunk televison, citing unnamed security sources in Berlin, reported that Frankfurt international airport and U.S. Ramstein Air Base were among the targets.
More from Der Spiegel:
They were still far from having a finished bomb, however. “It wasn’t a case of coitus interruptus,” commented one official. However, according to information obtained by SPIEGEL ONLINE, the men had all the necessary components ready — they had even already procured a military ignition mechanism for the explosive device. “An attack was imminent — it was only a question of time,” said one high-ranking security expert. Probably the men wanted to place the bombs in one or more cars and explode them in front of the target.
The goal of the men was clear. “The intention was to commit an attack and cause as many deaths as possible,” said the official. The investigators were mainly concerned that the three men had been acting conspiratorially in the last few weeks and possibly were planning to split up after the meeting in Oberschledorn and work further on their plan even more inconspicuously. Out of fear of losing track of the group and their activities, the police decided to strike.
One of the men attempted to escape through the bathroom window during the raid. He tore the gun out of the hand of a police officer who challenged him. In the following scuffle, a shot was fired and the police officer was lightly injured on the hand.
The arrests came after an extensive investigation carried out by federal prosecutors. Agents had been on the heels of the group surrounding 28-year-old Fritz G. — one of those taken into custody on Tuesday — since the end of 2006. Together with Daniel S. — likewise a German who had converted to Islam — and a 22-year-old Turkish man from Hesse named Adem Y., Fritz G. is thought to have founded an Islamist group that was even prepared to carry out suicide attacks in Germany.
Meanwhile, German blog Davids Medienkritik spotlights an outspoken moonbat there who characterized the 9/11 terrorist attacks as “”airplane accidents.”

I wonder if these guys have ever been to Goose Creek? How about USF?
Sure, Michelle. But seriously, what are we really doing to stop terrorists from attacking us? President Bush is just focused on IRAQ!
I hope no one was either tortured or “tortured” to get the intelligence needed to make these arrests…
Islamofacism is a delusion shared only by neocons. Obviously, these guys just wanted to dye their hair blonde.
Seriously, this is a world wide problem, and this confirms it. This terrorist group was originally just concerned with Uzbekistan, but for the past few years has growing ties to al-Qaeda. See MIPT Terrorism Knowledge Base.
Hey
Where is STB wasn’t he stationed in Germany, shouldn’t he be blogging? TNR where are you now?
Hey TrinityTim, USF is my Alma Mater but seriously I was at Starbucks (in little old Augusta, GA) this morning for a Mom’s Club meeting and I overheard these three guys saying that as long as it’s just military they’re attacking who gives a “F”. Nice but if pgtips is serious this is a bigger problem than what we think. Yes, Perk this is a worldwide problem but no one wants to address it because it’s not PC.
Am I missing something? I thought the war on terror was just a bumper sticker. geez.
…two of whom were German converts to Islam…
Some day soon, hopefully, we and others in the West will wake up and accept that terrorists are being created in our own neighborhoods, in local mosques, by rabid clerics and agents for various international radical Islamic groups.
Freedom of religion can be carried too far. Or perhaps it would be better simply to stop treating Islam as a religion and begin treating it as an imperialist political ideology bent on world domination by any means necessary. In the West, these means include:
– Out-reproduce the unbelievers
– Convert them
– Subvert their legal and political systems
– Kill the resisters
So-called moderate Muslims might not subscribe to the final solution, but they will and do cheerfully cooperate with the first three.
terrig..
I didn’t mean to speak ill of your alma mater but have you seen it lately. We moved from there a short time ago to SC and it’s starting to look like Saudi Arabia without the sand.
Isn’t it great how these elitists in Augusta appreciate our military especially since Augusta is somewhat of a military town. Typical of most libs but the day will come when their attitude will change. I hope.
America had better wake up because I believe the enemy is already amongst us. We just haven’t figured out how to find them yet.
#8.. Pokerguy
I do like your ideas but my wife has informed me that we are finished with the first suggestion. We need a gun for the second one. We would need a lot of lawyers for the third (don’t see that happening) and for your last suggestion, see #2 only bigger.
BTW, The only moderate muslim is an ex=muslim.
Note that
Stopping terrorism is for law enforcement, not the military. It’s like a “war on crime” or “war on cancer”. That’s the Clinton/Reno approach, as opposed to the Bush approach of creating quagmires in various Muslim countries with underfunded military operations. The article does not say that torture or extra legal surveillance was involved.
You who criticize left wing blogs for being shrill or violent, please reply to PokerGuy, post #8. Maybe it’s a joke?
There are a lot of psychos out there. Many of whom look for a cause to latch on to, hence “converts to islam” as are likely these pillars of German society. The others are products of centuries of taught hate and a spiritual componant that no one would dare interject into the debate. Those who worship an evil fallen spiritual being are given powers to accomplish it’s goal. Ultimately it, along with it’s colleagues in the spiritual realm, will be crushed but not before a whole lot of crap breaks loose. There are definitely tough times ahead and with the apathy bred by an evil media and liberalism run amuck we’d better sharpen our tools.
We all see how well the Clinton/Reno approach worked, right?
And what ‘law-enforcement’ agency are we going to use to go after the Taliban and Al Qaida outside the US in areas like Afghanistand and Iraq?
IMHO – they got them, they are dirty, they were planning massive attacks of terrorism… if someone was ‘leaned on’ and they got this information – it worked, right? Case closed.
lgm-
Compared to the left wingnuts-this Pokerguy is tame for his rhertoric. His comments while brash, do give some food for though and worth considering his points.
Sadly-Ann Colter has been making simuliar comments over the years that come close the type of rhetoric the left wingnuts are famous for.
However, it doesn’t diminsh their key points that islam is death and to ignore the mounting body of evidence as listed in their literature and corpses that they create at the least hint of slight is naive at best-
Deadly at worse for the sheepdogs keeping the watch!
“Dhimis or Freedom-Your Choice!”
I vote for freedom with my Sig!
I notice the lgm post #11. That thinking is part of the problem. These vermin would like nothing more than to wear the west down in our broken court systems, again caused by liberalism and an evil PC media. Wait til the “quagmire”(islamic terror/crime/cancer) is in lgm’s neighborhood or back yard and he looks about for a local DA to take care of the problem! Good luck!
It’s every day with these moon god worshipers. Denmark, Goose Creek, and today Germany. How can anyone hate America?
I mean, AC, I woke up, nice shower, coffee, and now cleaning my shotgun. How can folks hate that?
Was stationed in W.Germany,1966.Glad to see the Kamaraden, are on the ball.
One of the more insidious aspects of this arrest is that caucasian German converts to Islam were involved. These disaffected German youths plus European hostility to the USA as expressed by their politicians and their press cab create a combustible situation. The Europeans had better build bridges to America rather than try to tear down those relationships if they want to stop the aggressive actions of Islam.
The Clinton Administration had several opportunities to fight terror. They sent the FBI after the fact, to sort through the mess, and the dead Americans.
1993: Truck bomb in the basement of World Trade Center. FBI
1996: Khobar Towers, Saudi Arabia. Massive truck bomb, with ambush squad to shoot through the gates. The targets? U.S. Air Force personnel barracks. The U.S. military. FBI again.
1998: U.S. Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. Massive truck bombs, coordinated timing, hundreds killed, including U.S. State Department personnel. Act of War. FBI again.
2000: Port of Aden, Yemen. The U.S. Navy destroyer, USS Cole, ambushed by a suicide bomb-rubber boat, 40ft.by 60ft. hole in the hull, dozens of dead and wounded American sailors. Act of War. Clinton again sent the FBI.
January, 2001: After all of Clinton’s counter-terror law enforcement, he finally leaves office.
September 11, 2001: New York City, Washington DC. Four Hijacked airliners execute an attack on the economic and military heart of America, WTC and the Pentagon. The one that crashed was almost certainly headed to Capitol Hill, or the White House. More casualties than Pearl Harbor, all civilians at work. Act of War, but now the military responds. To date, no attacks on the U.S. homeland, and several attempts on Americans overseas thwarted.
After 9-11-01, military enlistments soar, because Americans instinctively understood after that day that America is at WAR. Too bad we did not understand that fact before 9-11. Thanks, Clinton.
Even at this late date, we have Americans who do not understand what we are facing, or refuse to accept it. That’s frustrating and sad to me.
Don’t worry, lgm. America will win this war without you.
Perhaps Jihad is motivated by Judeo-Evangelical Crusade? You got your Jewish neocons and the Evangelical Zionist Bush actively pursuing the PNAC strategy with invasions of two Moslem countries already and with their eyes set on Iran, Syria, and Saudi Arabia. No wonder Moslems are a little touchy! The neocons say it’s for “democracy,” but then again part of their Straussian elite philosophy is creating myths for the peasants (formerly known as the Big Lie technique).
Opportunity for terrorism comes primarily from the massive chamberpot immigration and open borders policies of people like the hero of Israel and the victory monkeys Bush.
Oh, one more thing. After all this griping about how much we are spending in Iraq every day, now we get this:
Now you want to slam Bush for not spending enough in Iraq?
Make up your mind about what you are against, other than an American military success. I agree, by the way. We are not spending enough money on our military. We need better post-service care for our veterans, and we need massive increases in the acquisition of new weapon systems and R&D funding for future systems. We need far more F-22 Raptors than Congress has authorized so far. We need more Stryker wheeled combat vehicles. We need to deploy the Missle Defense Sheild. New intelligence platforms in space.
We need as much as we can get for our warfighters.
Alphonse, your jew hating stripe is showing again. I’ll tell you one more time that Isreal has been the only Democracy in the Mid East, and therefore is a natural ally to the U.S., and has been our partner in that region for a long time, and that isn’t going to change, as much as you would like America to abandon a long standing loyal ally to genocidal maniacs in Iran. We will stand with our friends against Islamofascist tyranny.
Now go to the dry cleaners, your white sheets are ready for pick up.
Terrorism is a bogus term, like “energy” is a bogus term.
“Terrorism” allows our enemies within to say things such as “America is the biggest supporter of terrorism around the world.” “Energy” allows the debate over “Useable Power” to be winnowed away into the realm of Environmental De-Industrialists who jibber jabber about “alternative energy” that produces “useable power” in theory only.
In short, the terminology stymies any purposeful national debate, closure, and movement forward.
War is not a bogus term.
Law enforcement is a bogus term. One can be “in law enforcement”, do nothing about anything, and still say “We are handling it, but we’re still waiting on leads.”
Or one can make stuff up,under the mantle of “law enforcement” and an “on-going investigation”, a la Janet Reno, do the wrong thing, and rationalize it completely with impunity under political cover of the Office of the President of the United States.
Our enemies are at war with us and are killing us. They are protracting their war activities with psy-ops too: CAIR and the “charity” facades and Madrassas are all part of it telling us “We’re part of your own country and you will not do anything about it.”
The POTUS has acted appropriately. Now he must mobilize our Country and put it on a complete War footing to move the effort forward. Newt Gingrich gave a great speech today at the AEI on why “stay the course” and “legislating defeat in Iraq” are poor options for framing a strategy for beating the IslamoFascist.
As long as the Moon Loon yammering in Congress and in the media continue to hinder our efforts, this war in Iraq and elsewhere will go on much longer than it has to.
All the IslamoFascists rats understand is *power* unleasehed against them. They know “law enforcement” is a parlor game by comparison.
“Killing our enemies” is a clear and direct course of action- just as it was for the perps Brian72 referred to; just as it is going on in Israel at the hands of Hamas as they continue their Jew killing operations.
“Killing our enemies” fits the WAR model better than the “law enforcement” model.
Fighting against Islamic Jihadists world-wide gives the effort to kill our enemies a clear and present focus.
Use law enforcement to build domestic intel. But leave the killing to the American military.
i’m just waking up. but i woke up to the stench of lgm’s Moon Loon Logic. I promise to do better next time.
Brian72 #22: the FBI caught the perps in most of those cases. September 11 was after Bush redirected resources away from fighting terrorism.
#23: General Shinseki recommended 300,000 US troops for Iraq and got half that. Our forces in Afganistan are so weak that the Taliban are resurgent. Bush should have stuck to the Powell doctrine: commit what it takes to do the job. He didn’t, presumably because he didn’t think Americans would accept the bill. This is poor leadership.
#24: There have been other middle east democracies. Lebanon until the civil war, Iran until the US sponsored coup.
aj plugging in food prcessor for the bear to get his wheels moving…. lol
Fat lot of good it did responding to acts of war with the FBI. When the USS Cole was attacked, the response should have been led by the U.S. Navy Seal Teams, not the FBI and the Justice Department. Your theory of law enforcement responses to acts of war against the US is just unsupportable, even at first glance. Should President Roosevelt have sent J. Edgar Hoover to Japan with an arrest warrant on Dec. 8, 1941? Sorry, doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.
Those troops that went sure kicked the crap out of Saddams’ military forces, didn’t they? As for the post-invasion stabilisation plan, that was lacking in vision and foresight. It took too long, but that has been corrected now with a strategy that is working, without committing a Desert Storm sized force. The key to Iraq has always been the Iraqis themselves. They are stepping up to the plate now, finally. We don’t need an extra 150,000 American troops. Iraqi troops are a much better force multiplier.
Have you not seen that every time the enemy in Afghanistan tries anything other than cowardly suicide attacks on civilians, they get wiped out by the hundreds at a time!
Yes you are right about that, but it isn’t the whole story. Why did a civil war happen in Lebanon? You have Yassir Arafat to thank for that one. Then Hezbollah took it up a notch. All to kill jews for Allah.
As far as Iran, thank Jimmy Carter for what we have today. Do I need to explain that too?
Re; AJMontana (#7), Don’t you know? It IS just a bumper sticker. That is… until the Dem’s take back the White House, and then it will be “this awful mess that the Republicans got us into, but we will do the job right that they completely bungled! Damn those Republicans!”
Meanwhile, things will go on as they had been, but maybe with more smoke and mirrors to hide that fact from the nutroots that voted them into office.
LGM:
Any prosecutions of the people behind those attacks is righteous – however, the attacks continued.
Since this situation has been treated more as a war ( which it is, perhaps not in your mind, but it definitely is in the minds of our enemy ), we have gone after the head of the snake, not just the body.
Military pressure and diligent work by both our Military AND Law Enforcement communities is what has kept us from being struck again.
He could…..go….all…..the…..way!!!
Touchdown Farve!
Some friendly OT-
aj- got it crankin, dude….boy, howdy is this stuff good. one happy bear.
Brian72! Farve is one of my NFL heroes. I want to see him throw the heck outta that ball.
lgm: What is the single most important point you want a Bear like me to walk away with at the end of the day?
It is nice to see the Anti Christian Liberal Union (ACLU) has no presence in Germany. It is even nicer to see the Germans doing a great job protecting themselves and our people as well. You can bet they were:
Listening in
Checking bank records
Tracking suspicious purchases
Doing what ever it takes…
I sure hope some liberal types in Germany piped up. I bet the government would just tell them to get bent! I sure wish our government had a backbone when it came to “protecting terrorist’s rights”. We have become a nation that panders.
If I were captured by AQ, the least of my worries would be water boarding, there would be ZERO attorney’s at my beckon call and I sure as heck would not be allowed to have a Bible!
Our daughter (and former Marine son-in-law) have not spoken to their son at Al Asad Air Base yet to learn whether or not he got to see President Bush. These kids – these young men and women – the Death Jesters – are working 12 hr shifts daily and get 6 hrs a wk personal time during which they are so tired, they sleep.
I’m no stranger to war w/3 brothers in WWII and husband of 54 yrs (thanks, aj) spent 16 mos in Korea. Armistice was signed as they were crossing the Pacific.
I’m angry and frustrated about the lack of support and respect for our military…especially from Congress. It’s easy to be a pacifist when someone else is protecting your
assbutt, isn’t it?Brian72 -
You had been talking past those who you were debating with. And, they had been talking past you, too.
jrlinggreenbay finally got it right and it is good that you quoted him.
There is more than one way to skin a cat. Local Law Enforcement and the military are both tools used to fight the GWOT. In this case it was Local Law Enforcement and not the military.
The general question is, what is the most effective tool to use to achieve a certain outcome given the circumstances. Think of the last several terror cells that have been brought down in the US. It wasn’t the military that did it, it was Local Law Enforcement. Not even sure if it was warrantless wire taps, but Local Law Enforcement catching a speeder and searching their car.
Sure, a sledge hammer will swat flies and kill them, but it is not the most efficient way to do so.
My sincere gratitude to the Germans for their good work! Allies are a great asset.
Too bad the left won’t understand that places like Germany are only a step in the direction of the home soil. If we don’t take care of those pigs over there, they are coming here – quicker!
Yes, because we all know that terrorism didn’t exist before the evilbushhaliburtonomgwtfpwnlol gang took office. Thanks for the insight Alphonse.
pgtips
I suspect the only “insight” Alphonse has to offer will be very dark in nature because of the very dark place in which his head resides …
OK, here’s a reply to PokerGuy #8.
PokerGuy, someday lgm will learn to read and then understand that you are not advocating those things in the list you provide, but that it is your belief that radical Islam believes in those things.
There.
gunslingerpatriot #15:
So all of you are comfortable with a post that says, essentially, that once a Muslim has refused to convert to Christianity it’s OK to kill him.
As for #28: Shinseki didn’t ask for 300,000 to overthrow Saddam, he asked for them to enforce the peace afterwards. He knew that if you don’t enforce the peace, you just get a quagmire that breeds more terrorism (which is what seems to be the situation today).
Bear be tappin a toe…..PSSST! lgm…
about #32….at the bottom…I made a polite request of you.
My GOD! Do you not pay attention. Christians must convert, pay a tax or be killed.
Are you dense? I did not see anywhere where gunslingerpatriot or Porkerguy said they must convert to Christianity (which, by the way, is not a religion) or die.
This thread is not about conversion anyhow.
OMG!!!! i just came from the Craig thread…lol….”toe tapping” has taken on a whole new meaning.
Not what I meant- this gay takeover of our vernacular is a pain in the neck.
lgm- what I meant was- when ya get a minute tell me what it is you want me to understand by all this you’ve been writing about.
Read PokerGuy’s post again (post #8). If you think you’ve understood it, read it again. And again for good measure.
He is not advocating killing anybody. Read it again if you think he’s advocating killing.
If you still think he’s advocating killing … maybe someone else will be kind enough to explain to you exactly what PokerGuy is saying. Me? I’ll just have a good chuckle that someone got so worked up over a comment that didn’t say what he/she thought it said. “OMG look at those evil-murder-mongering-baby-killing-xenophobic-Bible-Bashing-happy-clappy-Jesus-shouting neocons!!!11!1!!1!”
ROFL
Don’t hold your breath (concerning lgm).
I sure hope that means what it used to – LOL!
#10, TrinityTim, I haven’t been there since 1993 when I graduated but one of my friends who lives in Clearwater was telling me that it’s not the USF we went to lo those years ago.
Yes, Augusta is a military town but they have two colleges there and I believe these individuals in their beanies were from Augusta State University which is down the road from this Starbucks on Wrightsboro road.
Thanks for post Michelle.
I have the feeling that this police action is just the beginning. The evil doers have been dealt serious set backs all through Africa and south Asia… I fear they are anxious for a success. Let’s Pray for all police, everywhere!
