Support the mission, oppose the surrender lobby

Sign the Stand By The Mission Petition!

Okay, people. The Code Pinkos got their turn. Now, it’s your turn to be heard. This is the petition of the Victory Caucus. Make your voice count:

Hey, did you know that MoveOn.org might have gotten a huge advertising rate discount for its despicable smear ad?

***

Stand by for liveblogging of Brit Hume’s exclusive interview with Gen. Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker.

Update 9:51pm Eastern. Hume brings up the MoveOn.org ad. What role did the WH/Pentagon play in your testimony? Petraeus: “I gave my assessment and recommendations to my chain of command, but the testimony was mine. I wrote it. I did not clear it or provide a copy to anyone.” Crocker says the same.

Here we go…

9pm Eastern. Hume invites Gen. Petraeus to give a synopsis of his testimony. Isn’t it good to see the grown-ups talking without interruption? Gen. Petraeus is reviewing the slides from his House testimony.

Allah’s analysis and unresolved questions here.

The political will to win will only cost more soldiers their lives. How many soldiers are you willing to sacrifice for this weak administration Michelle?
Where is their full page ad? Where is their time on HBO? You have done the same thing day after day and we keep losing. When are you guys going to fight back? I can’t do it. I work full time to support my family. I can make a donation for the Times ad, I can make phone calls soliciting money to fight back but I can’t do it. You can! Bill can! Sean can! Rush can! I and the other people here can’t.

We have to go after Rosie, and Sean and Tim and Moveon. We have to go before the American people, not on fox but on ABC,CBS,NBC… Primetime ads attacking those who are getting our sons and daughters killed. Say it….Tim Robbins is killing your sons and daughters America! Rosie and Sean Penn are getting your sons and daughters killed America! Moveon is funded by a billionaire socialist who doesn’t care if you are killed in your homes or at work America!…Say it, challenge them.
    Like I said I can’t do it, I wish I could but I can’t.

I am sure I have said this here before. I have 2 nephews..young men I raised for 6 years after their father was killed. Rye Allen Mcneil(27) is a tankdog, sealkiller who is currently serving his second tour in Iraq. His younger brother Michael David Mcneil (24) (he just had a birthday on the 30th) is an engineer and expecting orders to return for his second tour. He hunts IEDs on the streets day after day.
I want to suceed, I want the Iraqis to live in relative peace, I want to show the world America is strong and true despite everything moveon and the rest say…But more than anything I do not want my sister and my mother to have to suffer for her children.

MoveOn.org probably did get a 60% discount, but on the other hand, considering the actual numbers of readers the NYTimes has these days, MoveOn probably still overpaid. At any rate the NYT would never pass up the opportunity to help smear someone in uniform even if they had to give the ad away.

As much as I would like to believe there is hope for success in Iraq, you see these poll results from a combined study conducted by the BBC, ABC, and Japan,s NHK asking the Iraqis themselves how they feel about their security thus far in the surge. 10% see improvement, 30% think it’s the same, and 60% say security is worse than before the surge started. Even if we eventually defeat Al-Qaida in Iraq, is it to late for the people not displaced or killed to ever get their lives back?

Somewhat common, leepro, I’m surprised you haven’t run into it before.

‘Course, I been online in one form or another since the ’80s and work with “webstuff” alot. So I guess I’m a pseudo-geek of sorts and probably seen most everything. (Until a new variation comes along!) :)

My problems with the Iraq War are that Bush floundered for four years before putting Gen. Petraeus in command (longer than it took Lincoln to put Grant in charge) and the Iraqis have proven to be unworthy allies. Anyway, we must look out for the security of the USA and base our strategy with that objective first and foremost.

how’s that Democrap kool aid you are drinking? …

anyone that wants to formulate any kind of an opinion based on a supposed poll of the Iraqi people is automatically delusional to even think such a poll can reliably exist or be objective …

you sound like all the libs on the committee rebuking all the facts on the ground that General Petraeus presented today …

Wake up and smell whatever there is near you to smell … whatever it is it has to be better than the BS you are currently immersed in …

BTW … I am signed up as well …

Lincoln floundered for years in the civil war until he put Grant in charge …

Roosevelt floundered for years in WWII until he put MacArthur and Eisenhower in charge …

it is part of what is called war …

when a war starts the right people are not always in charge … but that is where one must start from …

the courage to recognize that fact and make the necessary changes to get the right people in place is why the President is in charge instead of the military establishment …

thought you seemed in need of a history refresher …

Roosevelt didn’t flounder. Call him lucky, but from the early days, he had Stimson running the War Department and Marshall as his general-in-chief. It was only a matter of time before we had sufficient manpower and materiel to win the war.

You are right about a president having the courage to make necessary course corrections and command changes. However, Bush stuck with Rumsfeld long after it became clear that he wasn’t up to the job. “You go with the army you have,” said Rumsfeld after he was asked to explain manpower, hardware and logistical deficiencies. He should have been fired on the spot.

so you would hold Rumsfeld responsible for the shortcomings of our military when everything started? …

Clinton had just spent a full 8 years depleting our military and creating roadblocks to keep our intelligence agencies from being able to share the information that many study groups have said might have been able to warn us about 9/11 and give us a chance to perhaps prevent it …

I am not a big Rumsfeld fan … but he could only work with the military forces and equipment that was in place … changes should have been done more quickly … but even that takes time to identify what needs to be changed and then how to accomplish those changes …
