Deval Patrick: 9/10 person
Yesterday, I asked: Which kind of person are you? A 9/10 person or a 9/12 person?
We know which kind Mass. Gov. Deval Patrick is. As you may have read, he called the September 11 jihad attacks “a failure of human understanding.” Brian Maloney at The Radio Equalizer and Allahpundit have background.
Michael Graham rips into Patrick today in the Boston Herald, where he interviewed 9/11 family member Debra Burlingame:
Maybe he’s living in another world, an imaginary liberal land were every Muslim radical is just one hug away from Methodism, and every criminal can be rehabilitated by a proper diet and midnight basketball.
The rest of us, alas, are trapped in the real world. And in this world, “9/11 is the price we paid for not truly understanding the enemy,” Debra told me. “It was the moral vanity of our politicians that told them the Islamists could be dealt with through diplomacy, or negotiated with.
“The only negotiating they do is with a Kalashnikov rifle.”
I’m still unclear what it is Patrick wants us to understand about the radical Muslims who want to kill us. But thanks to liberals like Patrick and MoveOn.org, the terrorists understand America.
All too well.
Six years after 9/11, and we’re still stuck in a morally equivalent morass where the display of American flags is offensive, where teachers ply conspiracy Trutherism, and where “Have you hugged a terrorist today?” is considered a proper memorial statement.

Deval Patrick’s world is driven by vanity. People with his world view only look at mirrors thus everyone is the same and look just like him. Those that look beyond themselves will see thousands of faces and will look into the eyes of the very few that mean harm.

I suggest that we round up all of these 9/10 clowns from the circus of denial that are so convinced that talking to the terrorists is the answer … send them to talk to the terrorists … tell them they can’t come back until they have successfully converted the terrorists away from violence to a way of peace … anyone want to speculate on how long they’ll be gone or whether they will even come back in one piece … literally …
time for these people to put their butts on the line for what they say they believe and let them face the terrorists one-on-one to “talk” … I’m sure they are such brave Americans they won’t have any problem standing up for what they believe … will they?
who knows … they may even have a change of heart and decide 9/12 is a better day to base their lives on …

I hope that the past 11 months have re-awakened the people that just voted for change, we here knew it was going to be bad and then it happened now look at what we have . God help us all if this trend continues. One barometer we have is if Al Franken makes it to the Senate.

I think there is a lot of misunderstanding. When I read bin Laden’s fatwa, seems as though his primary concern was U.S. troops in Saudi Arabia, and of course the usual, Zionism. Where does this stuff come from that “they want to kill us all,” and “it is a titanic battle of civilizations.” As near as I can figure, this comes from Jewish talk radio–Dennis Prager, Michael Medved, Michael Savage, and the more zealous religious right, and of course the “neoconservatives.” I love Michael Savage in general, but let’s face it, Jews can get a little nutty on the subject of Israel. By “western civilization is in jeopardy” they mean Israel. Frankly I don’t see why our U.S. boys should get suckered into a loony-tunes Judeo/Evangelical crusade against the Arabs and Iranians.
