Jeremiah 29:11 and the immortal Marine
Your Sunday meditation. Read the whole thing. Bring a box of Kleenex:
“Ray feels this is a challenge but he can endure it,” Donna said. “I always tell him ‘Jeremiah 29:11.’ ”
She then quoted the Bible verse from memory:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

May God Bless Ray and his family for many years to come.
Beautiful story. A box of Kleenex is correct as it is very moving.
I have no doubt that Cpl. Raymond D. Hennagir will walk again. I am so glad he could be there to see his Marine family back home.
May God bless Ray, his fiancee, his family and his Marine family today and always.
How can people not believe the men and women who have boots on the ground that their mission is working in Iraq? As long as brave men like Ray tell me he believes in their mission I will continue to believe them and not the Code Pinkos and the likes of Reid, Pelosi, etc.
If you’d like to write our brave injured warriors at Walter Reed or Bethesda, here are the addresses I was given last Christmas (they could have changed):
National Naval Medical Center
Marine Corps Liaison Office

Phone: 301-295-6111

Thanks, Michelle.
Tears again.
May God continue to Bless us all.
God Bless our Armed Forces and their families who stand by them!
One can only imagine what happens to the enemy when they encounter such injuries in battle…hmmm…all I have to say is we are truly blessed in this Great Nation.
Raymond D. Hennagir—Why Eagles Gather.
God bless them all.
Thanks Cpl Hennagir you are a true American hero. He is a very fortunate young man to have so many people love and care for him. May he recover from his injuries and have a wonderful long life. We are truly blessed to have young men and women like this.
It’s good to be well and truly reminded of the sacrifice and of the debt we owe for that sacrifice, which keeps us safe and free.
The appreciation should stick with us in our everyday dealings, especially the political ones.
General George Patton insisted, “It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.”
God bless Cpl Hennagir, Semper Fi Marine!!!!! You’re a great American!!!!!!!
May God bless our brave fighting men and women and their families. I am grateful for their sacrifices that we all may be free.
The more I hear about our great heroes, the more I love them.
This young Marine is typical of all Marines, Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, and Coast Guardsmen. Their spirit is undeniable, their bravery is unparalleled, and their cause is unstoppgable.
God bless them ona and all. I am forever in their debt.
What a beautiful story of courage, determination, love and faith. God bless them.
America’s best
God bless you Michelle for your work in honoring these young people and their sacrifice. Thank you for your bravery by putting yourself on the line there in Wash DC this weekend with some very ugly and dangerous enemies of the USA. And God bless this young man and family.
About all this zoomie can say is “Semper Fi, Ray.”
God bless you and your (His) plans for your future.

Here is the email I sent to Michael Vitez, the Enquirer reporter/writer:
Words fail. Oh my. What courage and endurance. Yes, America’s Best. And none of us deserve it. We are truly blessed. And don’t deserve it. Life-long thanks, Ray, to you and your family. And to all who have similarly sacrificed. And thanks to all above for heartwarming comments. Dittos to almeehan and leepro above especially, for your comments.
What a HERO he is.
He makes me feel so very small and petty.
Just the fact that he survived is miraculous, but that I complain over all my ailments…..well, now I know to appreciate my life even more.
I am humbled.
This is a great story that I wish the MSM would cover during the primetime news when talking about Iraq.

God Bless You Cpl. Raymond D. Hennagir and THANK YOU beyond words.
.
Great family too, both of them, mom and dad and the Marines.

.
May God bless you with everything I’ve ever prayed for and dreamed of for myself and my family become yours, in reality.
As I do believe this: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Also, add a thank you to his wife-to-be, for sticking by him and not running away. She’s also made of some stout stuff…eh?
Just a couple of quick observations on this overwhelming story:
* Amisdt the heartache there is a great, funny line:
* This is probably not the right time or place to say this, but a number jumped out at me and ticked me off badly: This brave man gets $3,500.00 a month plus social security. I cannot help but think that if we weren’t allowing liberals to feed, house and pay thousands of illegal aliens who have not done one damn thing for this country except work for their own selfish motivations, and hundreds of absurd quasi-socialist programs, some of which defy all reason or belief, this country might be able to afford to pay this brave man who gave so much $5,000.00 a month. Or more.
And that’s far, far and away a better use of the money.
Still doing the job Democrats won’t do.
#23 - You are so right! We could also take $$$ from former presidents’ pensions and let them hire their own body guards, congressional pay for not doing their jobs, etc. - the list boggles the mind. For showing only the anti-war bunch, I used e-mail addresses on Fox News web site to tell them their “fair and balanced”, “we report, you decide” was a crock of cranberries. The part I loved most is the Marine’s fiance saying she did not know there were so many kinds of napkins for the wedding/reception! What a couple…the greatest generation is here and now. Michelle, I love you!!
This is one beautiful story that I passed on.
God bless him, his loved one, the Marines, all our troops and beloved country!!!
What an inspiration! Whether you are for or against the war, we must not forget that every solider coming home injured shares a similar story and deserves a similar outpouring of support.
It was very telling when this young Marine uttered his first words to the Corpman he called over… he did not ask if he, himself, were going to live. The first thing he wanted to know is if the other Marine who was near him was alright.
That is a man who understands duty, honor and Country. That is a man who understands what it is to love his neighbor as himself. I pray that he and his lovely fiancee have an incredible wedding, and a wonderful life together. They both have certainly earned their time of peace!!
