Bloomberg to escort Iranian nutjob to Ground Zero? Update: Poll time – Where do you want to send Ahmadinejad? Update: NYC backs off amid confusion; Update: Columbia U. will host him
Update: Wow. I was just joking about the campus visit in my poll. And now this:
Also today, the president of Columbia University, Lee C. Bollinger, announced that Mr. Ahmadinejad would speak at the university on Monday.
I’m sure he’ll get a warmer welcome than Columbia gave the Minutemen.
Update: Request denied.
Oh, holy hell. The NYSun reports:
In a move that has stunned New York, the Bloomberg administration is in discussions to escort the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to ground zero during his visit to New York next week, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said today.
The Iranian mission to the U.N. made the request to the New York City Police Department and the Secret Service, who will jointly oversee security during the president’s two-day visit. Mr. Ahmadinejad is scheduled to arrive September 24 to speak to the U.N. General Assembly as the Security Council decides whether to increase sanctions against Iran for its uranium enrichment program.
Mr. Kelly said the NYPD and Secret Service were in discussions with the Iranian mission about the logistics for the possible visit, and whether it will take place at all. He said Mr. Ahmadinejad would not be allowed to descend into the pit for safety reasons related to ongoing construction there.
“There has been some interest expressed in his visiting the area,” Mr. Kelly said. “It’s something that we are prepared to handle if in fact it does happen.”
Mr. Kelly said that Mr. Ahmadinejad had not indicated why he wants to visit the site of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Contact Nanny (or should it be Ninny, now?) Bloomberg here.
Poll time: Where should Ahmadinejad be escorted next?
Allahpundit’s outrage-o-meter: White hot:
[I]f Bush and Rice let him go down there, especially in the wake of Petraeus and Crocker reporting the threat Iran poses to American soldiers in Iraq, you have no idea how grave the political fallout will be. Consider this an alert from the grassroots early warning system. You ignored the warning we gave you this summer about the amnesty bill. For your sake, don’t ignore this one.
Via Stephen Spruiell, here’s Mitt Romney’s letter to the U.N. asking that Ahmadinejad’s invitation to address the General Assembly be rescinded.

Fine but if he steps on my grass, he’s a dead man.
I sometimes just wish we could dump the UN into the Atlantic Ocean then we wouldn’t have to deal with the clown parade that comes through every year at this time of the year. When is he booked on the Spew?
“AYE” yelled very loudly!
Ahminthemoodforjihad doesn’t deserve anything less than the fate of Saddam, or Mussolini. If his own countrymen get ahold of him, he’ll reap what he has sown. The brutality in Iran against dissenters has stepped up in a serious way the last couple of years. Stoning women to death, hanging rape victims, imprisonment for violating the craziest Islamic regulations like wearing the wrong shirt. The people are getting really restless, and I wish we could empower them to handle this a**hole themselves.
AJ, just let me know if he does, so I can practice saying “He was at my place all night, Officer” when the cops come asking…
I just happen to be assigned to an F-15E Wing I might just be able to find some volunteers to fly this type of mission. But would probably get killed in the stampede to sign-up for the mission.
I agree.
Just an old Apache way of saying Howdy to strangers, don’t see nothing wrong from my end. But you did forget the honey. Hehehehehe!
Thanks swj! I’ll keep ya posted. Is this guy protected under U.N rules is that it? Damn, probly is, ok, nevermind.
When we put a hole in Iran the size of Mississippi can I go see it?
I like the poll, but AYE, to reference #17. Send him to Gitmo, but just as a quick layover on his one-way trip to Hell. For his brand of evil, the devil is going to have to jam-pack him into the deepest pit with Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin, Pol Pot, etc. Maybe the pit could be further warmed to be as hot as a nuclear device at detonation in Ahmadinejad’s honor.
Then again, I think perhaps being confined to the mud wallow of a pig farm could be the best earthly justice for him.
Can’t. The laws against pollution, y’know. People swim and fish gotta live in that water.
Smoke ‘em out like rats instead. Then, after the place is fumigated, use it for a top-notch VA hospital.
And that would be different from Iran or any other Islamist-run dictatorship?
(Well, if he’s just another oinker and not the head swine, that’d work.)
He’s going to speak at Columbia? Holy Shi’ite!
You called it Michelle, and I bet there won’t be anyone bumrushing the stage to assualt him either. What a tolerant, open academic system we have here! Maybe we can get Vice President Cheney to speak at Terhan University in an exchange of ideas between two cultures who only need dialogue and understanding. Can’t we all just get along? Don’t taze me bro!!
Hahaha. You’re right on there, Boomer. Don’t get in the way of that stampede, every jetjockey on the flightline will want a piece of that one!
The way things are going the next poll we see will probably be,
“Name our Country”
1) Amerexico
2) Ameristan
3) Amerislam
4) Islamamerico
I’ll send him a nice merchandise package from Club Gitmo, your tropical retreat from the stress of jihad! Plus, if you order now, a complimentary Rush for Peace mug!
I am so angry about this that I can’t say what I’m thinking because the police will show up at my door.
I’m-A-Nut-Job…get the HELL out of my country, you jihadist a**…
#88 Bear, here is the link that I read. I got so ticked at what I was reading, I stopped. I’ll have to go back and see what else is on there.

How bout those Broncos…Yeah!.
.
back on topic-
444 days in jail- armamadjihad held in contempt JUST for starters…PAYBACK!
-the little prick-
Leepro, #56, I wasn’t too clear on that, was I…. I had read that Bush hadn’t protested about the proposed visit and basically told Bloomidiot to handle it himself. IMO, Bush should have taken a firm stand and protested even if it wasn’t Bush’s final decision. Surely Bush could have stopped it. I am not too happy with President Bush on several things and the list keeps growing.
I am furious. ANYONE who participates in allowing this criminal into the USA – ESPECIALLY FOR THE “SAKE” OF THE UN, which 95% of Americans WANT US OUT OF, ANYWAY – is definitely NOT going to get my vote – BUT UNLIKE a lot of silly Conservatives, I WILL VOTE.
Oh, I will vote – even for a good write-in – like for MICHELLE AND ANN COULTER!
I want OLLIE NORTH at the State Dept. and Michael Savage as Attorney General.
katieanne…
I agree with you. I read that same article and got sick in my stomach. I went on to write an email to the CU president. I told him that he didn’t need to listen to this murderous crap, we already know what his intentions are. Namely, to wipe Israel off the map, to impose Islamic law on us and every other wesern democracy, and to continue to kill Americans in Iraq.
Following his logic, he would have to sit down in the humgry lion’s cage to find out if he was hungry enough to eat him. Makes no sense. These clowns are crapweasels.

Actually, more fitting is the execution of the friend of Saddam’s, who was too fat and his rope was too long is more fitting, next to the ant hill someone mentioned.
And in the mood I am in, please include EVERY politician who promotes the idea of letting Hugo Chavez and Ahmedisadamnjerk into this nation, and whoever is responsible for their invitation to SPEAK to the UN. They can all have their own spot on a red ant bed, as well, with the personal ministrations of some good old gals with American Indian blood in them, like ME for instance – who know a thing or two about how to make such persons SUITABLY “comfortable”.
The hell with not letting him go there for “safety and security” reasons. How about respect for the thousands murdered and maimed there that day,and the surviving family members?
What is wrong with our government and people like Bloomberg? And Bollinger should and will eventually be fired. Surely even the left cannot be okay with this insanity.
“I”
San Franfreako would be a good place to send him;tie him to a lightpost in Hashbury, and watch his head explode watching the freaks.Actually,I agree with aj ;send him straight to hell and the U.N. with him.
Lindsay, exactly what I was thinking.
NEW YORKERS UNITE!
DO NOT LET THIS
MANSCUM NEAR THE SITE!!!re: #121 katieanne
You are absolutely right!
After that I went out to eat.
Right after I posted, I kinda thought you posted the start and the finish, but not the middle.
Sorry I jumped you. I agree about Bush et al.
Of course he should be given tour of ground zero! Escorted by all the FDNY & NYPD who lost brother officers on September 11th, 2001. And, I’m sure a few officers would volunteer to take those hard working secret service guys out for beers, while the rest of NYC’s finest attend to ahhh… cleaning up the neighborhood. Prompt trash removal is after all vital to keeping a world class city in good shape!!!
Just maybe we’re getting ready to bomb Iran…..and our government wants him here so he cannot run and hide.
(a perspective from someone who thinks outside the box)
Any thoughts?
We didn’t let Kruschev go to Disneyland …
We don’t let Ahmadinejad go to ground zero …
End of story …
How about we send him up on the next space shuttle and make sure he misses the return flight …
