This is yet another reason we need to eliminate the Dept of Education and any and all federal funding of primary and secondary schools. At least I don’t have to support this stupidity then.

The learning materials from Mexico teach that the American Southwest belongs to Mexico and is called Aztlan.This is part of the Mexican invasion of the USA called reconquista being willfully supported by our own Government. I urge you to go to this website and read it for yourselves: Under the euphuism 'Hispanic Homeland' and 'Nation of Aztlan,' activists from numerous organizations including Mexican American Legal Defense and La Raza (The Race) activists are attempting to annex large portions of SW United States to Mexico. "Republica del Norte," the Republic of the North, which would include the present U.S. states of California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, plus southern Colorado, along with several current Mexican states, is "an inevitability" says Charles Truxillo, professor, University of New Mexico. He further states the new "Hispanic Homeland" should be brought into being "by any means necessary." A 'Hispanic Homeland' could be written off as the work of extremists were it not for wide-spread support by Mexicans. A June 2002 Zogby poll of Mexicans found that a substantial majority of Mexican citizens believe that southwestern America is rightfully the territory of Mexico and that Mexicans do not need the permission of the U.S. to enter. The poll found that 58 percent of Mexicans agree with the statement, "The territory of the United States' southwest rightfully belongs to Mexico." Zogby said 28 percent disagreed, while another 14 percent said they weren't sure. We are being invaded by Mexico and they are being aided and abetted by our own schools and the Government. This is one of many reasons the wife and I decided not to go home to Oregon when I retired from the Air Force. Matter of fact we consider most of the left coast off limits (anything west of the Cascades, eastern Oregon with the exception of Bend and Washington are nothing but conservative). Although we do have a migrant head start school I pass every morning on my way to work at the local AFB, which continues to twist my gut every time I drive by it knowing my tax dollars are paying for this facility and the buses that deliver these children to it. It’s their parent’s fault they are here, but why the heck do I have to pay for it.

That might be a better question. Why should anyone bother assimilating when we just bend over backwards to keep them from having to do it?!
