As far as Cities go, in my opinion, San Francisco was a great city up until around the mid 1950s. Then it started down hill but fast. I grew up in SF and was very thankful after 40 years there to get out in 1970. Yes I guess there are a few places there worthwhile to visit. In some of the better locations by the late 60s some homes started to put up steel grates on windows and steel bared gates around the doorways.

Those mentioning that SF would be a fine place for the worthless, in my opinion, United Nations recall that the UN was established there.

SF is a lost cause. People that refuse to acknowledge the sacrifices that others make for their freedoms deserve little, or no respect. It is not the courts, the politicians, the artists, the constitution that gives them their freedom. It is the people in uniform willing to commit the ultimate sacrifice that give them freedom.

For SF to deny the Marines is to spit in the face of freedom. No one should defend this insanity. I for one will not defend SF. One day under terrorist rule would wake them up quick.

As a side note. We should demand congress check into this ‘no gays’ in Iran thing. Anyway we could get Barney Frank to go on a fact finding mission?

I’d like to see those in power have the nerve to cut off San Fran at the knees – they don’t want a military presence there…fine! But no more federal aid for anything, and no military presence in the event of a natural disaster or calamity. And if there’s a terror attack in San Fran – good luck!

Pull all military bases, personnel, and related business out of the San Fran area. Take all the jobs with them.

I’m sure the assorted hippies, illegals, and other liberal moonbats will mobilized to keep the city safe in the wake of a catastrophic event because clearly San Fran no longer needs the military.

Of course, they’ll turn around and blame Bush and the neocons, but at least they’ll get a taste of what life is like when the greatest military in the world abandons you.
