The new, P.C.-ified Pledge of Allegiance
The local and national press have more than adequately covered the moonbat student protest over the Pledge of Allegiance in Boulder, Colorado.
But in case you missed it, here is the P.C.-ified version of the pledge that the Boulder kids are now championing:
I pledge allegiance to the flag and my constitutional rights with which it comes. And to the diversity, in which our nation stands, one nation, part of one planet, with liberty, freedom, choice and justice for all.
Diversity worship? Check.
Enviro-worship? Check.
“Choice?” The kind that Planned Parenthood supports, no doubt, and not educational vouchers, I’m sure.

Please tell me I just woke up , cause this is NOT the Colorado I grew up in.
.
The CU Granola heads have turned into whacked out lib heads…Way too much dope up there in Boulder.
How’s that out of state tuition coming along…for my son? Oh wait, he’s not an illegal…whats a guy to do?
Yeah, this is pretty bad.
It’s official, again.
Bizzaro world is here.
Home-schooling does do a world of help… ^_^
Oh God, can Massachusetts be far behind?
I weep for the future.
I completely missed all the hubbub on this topic. If the Boulder kids find our beautiful Pledge of Allegiance inadequate, they should just sit down, shut up, and not try to re-write it for the rest of us. Period.
Obviously there is more wrong with the Colorado education system than just Ward Churchill …
Wife is homeschooling as I type.
My kids aren’t as ‘cool’ as the organized education kids, but they are certainly given a better one on one education. I won’t digress.
I understand everyone can’t homeschool given certain constraints. Our daughter had to go to a government run school for much of last year, but you should always be striving to homeschool. Lest your innocent kids be subjected to “one nation, part of one planet”, condoms on nanners and full on Britney Lohan culture.
No mention of God - check
No mention of America - check
No mention of indivisibility - check
No mention of a Republic - check
barf
Thankfully, I missed all this before. But now that I’ve seen it, I (pause) I think that I am going to be sick.
My kid would be saying it the right way no matter what they tried to make him (or her) say…
Anyone who wants to try and muffle a kid of mine’s right to free speech can come talk with his/her father…
I’ll be the one on the porch cleaning a shotgun…
I’m cleaning the shotgun to draw your attention away from the handgun.
whenever the MSM talks about homeschooling.. they completely miss the biggest point in WHY parents start to homeschool their kids.. because public schools SUCK
Beyond parody…
Not in MY classroom…
I don’t have a class of my own yet. I’m subbing this school year. Did my first “regular” sub yesterday (had done Special Ed exclusively to that point this year). I stumbled a bit on The Texas Pledge - it’s changed since last year - they’ve added “one state, under God” to it, and I’m not used to that yet.
I pledge allegiance to the flag and my constitutional rights with which it comes.
The flag comes with constitutional rights, sort of like free fries with a hot dog? Is that grammatical?
The lessons from Kosovo and Iraq are that multiculturalism works best under dictatorship or military occupation. Why don’t educators get this? Perhaps because the classroom is almost the ultimate authoritarian environment, with full time surveillance of the students by a classroom dictator, the teacher. In the classroom, if Johny calls Jerry an “n_____,” the teacher breaks it up. In a free environment, Jerry might well shank Johny.
Multiculturalism may or may not work in a free society. It certainly seems to degrade society as competence is abandoned for quotas, i.e., you gotta have a black woman for Sec. of State no matter how incompetent, and a black seat, Jewish seat, Hispanic seat, Moslem seat, etc., on the Supremo Court, every last one chosen for ethnicity.
If these children don’t appreciate that they have the freedom to stage their ignorant protest because they live in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, then let them go without public funding.
Thankfully, not all high schoolers are this moronic… my son at the age of 17 made the very adult decision to serve his country in a time of war, and he is doing so honorably when he could be sitting at home, enjoying the comforts that these spoiled ignorant brats take for granted.
At the age of 19, His efforts under fire are insuring that the “rights” of these pathetic, self-centered, egotistical brainwashed whiners continue to be protected.
Don’t like the U.S., kids? Then graduate, apply for a passport and MOVE THE HELL OUT. Canada will be more than happy to take you.
I’ve been covering this at Slapstick Politics since the “rally” became news.
I’ve got a good roundup of photos and a video interview by the leader of the little Marxist moonbats.
That’s just pathetic.
how did they manage to leave out Mahmoud???…isn’t that who they are in allegiance w/?
This makes me want to cry. What’s wrong with today’s youth?
Freaking idiot moonbats, nothing comes with the flag, the flag represents the Republic of America, not anyone’s constitutional rights.Stupid a**holes read a f***ing book:preferably American History , not socialist nonsense.
The kids should be permanently expelled, with no later readmittance.
The “Student Worker Club” (I wonder if it’s a maoist or stalinist based commie club) should be disbanded and outlawed.
I believe it was Mark Steyn who clarified that many people mistake “multi-culturalism” with “multi-ethnic”, using the former when they really mean the latter. Having people of different colors living together isn’t a problem as long as they share a common set of mores.
By its very name, you can tell multi-culturalism is an oxymoron on par with “reality television” because it supposes that Orthodox Jews and Islamofascists, atheists and evangelicals, vegan hippies and Ted Nugent should revel in a group hug and “Kumbayah” sing-along.
Yeah, that’ll work.
If liberals are supposed to be so darn smart, how come they can’t see the folly of their rhetoric?
I pledge allegiance not to the flag, or the base republic for which it stands, but to Mother Gaia—Hail!—on whose dread breasts all nations suck. And to the global community of nations (of which my own is least) with liberty from homophobes, freedom from religion, choice for dilation and curettage, and justice for all people groups deemed especially oppressed.
The exodus of 70’s California hippies, to the land of Rocky Mountian Highs, ruined Colorado. I’ve asked a few Colorado natives who have brains.
So glad I no longer live in Colorado. My son somehow managed to graduate from High School in Colorado Springs without being mentally damaged by the PC group think. I am sooooo glad I don’t have school age kids right now (still waiting on the grandkids). They would be home schooled.
The California’s have invaded and infiltrated Colorado completely I am trying to figure out how to keep them out of Idaho. They damage every community they touch.
I hope Larry the Cable Guy sues them for stealing his material.
/What? You mean this was serious???
Another socialist farce. These people have actively, and successfully, managed to weaken Amendments 1,2,4,5,9, and 10. And they certainly hate liberty, except that espoused in Brave New World and 1984.
pre-sophomoric, juvenile pap.
And wait for it, all you home-schoolers. The liberal hero - Hugo Chavez - has mandated all schools stick to the government approved curriculum, or shut down.
That cannot be far behind here in the US, and homeschooling is next on the chopping block.
You. Will. Conform. Or you will be punished.
Meanwhile, I think I’m going to hang a framed copy of the REAL pledge in my son’s room…
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
Tmoney and boomer,
Alot of the so called California hippies migrated here from other parts of the country in the first place and it’s not entirely Cals fault,to generalize Californians in this manner is just lame.
Why are these brats able to “walk out” of school without any consequences? They should be up for suspension.
This is the world according to, still-wet-behind-the- ears, KIDS! And what’s with the communist star on their banner? Millions of lives were lost under that star and it sickens me to see America going down this road with blessings from our public schools, the liberal media and democrats. But then, I guess this is the result of never spanking the poor dears for fear of ruining their precious self-esteem.
ajmontana I grew up in the Sacramento area after my dad retired from the Air Force in 1967. I never really fit in there and it helped push me into the same career in 1975. Worst part is I spent about 12 years stationed in Northern and Southern California. I still have a brother living in West Sacramento, but trying to get him to flee the insanity. The only other reason to go back is to visit my dad’s grave otherwise everyone else in the family has already escaped. For me home has always been where the Air Force sends me (including my current location).
Alphonse — thanks for managing to squeeze a laugh out of this. It kept me from feeling like crying. I had not heard about this. Now I’m just disgusted. Steveegg noted all the omissions. This perversion of our pledge leaves out everything that causes real Americans to swell with pride. The saddest part is that these kids’ parents are probably right there helping them craft the language — rather than taking the time to explain to them the importance of every word in the pledge as it exists. The “president” of the club states:
Oh honey! It is so sad that you made it all the way to high school and yet you remain so completely ignorant of the world.
Really? Because this sounds like the Colorado I grew up in…then again I grew up in Boulder and am only 25.
This isn’t the worst thing I’ve seen in Boulder (not even counting Ward Churchill), but it’s pretty dumb.
It was this type of Boulder idiocy that made me start looking at Conservatism, hopefully others will see this and escape the grasp of Boulder insular lifestyle.
I don’t understand. How can they change the PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE to the United States?
Is this one of those ’states rights’ issues that IS NOT A STATE’S RIGHT? How are the candidates going to come down on this one? I’m sure they’ll say ‘federalism’, but that’s crap.
There is ONE pledge of allegiance to the UNITED STATES. All the states use the same one. Are you going to get to use a different ‘united’ states of America flag too?
This is really too far. These people are treasonous. I’m sorry but these people are guilty of treason. Whose to say they don’t change it to I pledge allegiance to Colorado? or anything else that someone arbitrarily decides to indoctrinate kids with.
I can’t believe it.
Conservatives also show that they can hate America. If a liberal changed “God Bless America” to “Why should God bless America? She’s forgotten he exists”, you guys would throw a hissy fit like MM’s post.
You might say God has a right to be angry with America because we don’t have prayer in school. I might say God has a right to be angry with America because we caused so much suffering in Iraq. We don’t hate America, we just want it to be the best it can be.
As good as place as any to add this:
Pledge of Allegiance by Red Skelton - YouTube
Man, I’m so glad I moved out of Boulder!
I raised my kids there. Both of them graduated from Boulder High. Back then, there were liberals. They were misguided, but had not yet turned into raving lunatics.
These clowns think they’re going to take over?!?!?
It will absolutely be over my dead body!!!
ASSBITE FREAKS. Send them to France!!!!!
What? It’s not in Espanol???
lgm:
No, I’d agree with that. When this nation has stories come forth on a daily basis about oppression of religious speech, verbal attacks on Christians, and the moonbattery like this in Colorado, you YOU say America has forgotten God?
I knew it wouldn’t take long for someone to bring up Iraq.
How’s that? Instilling failed communistic, socialistic policies here? By oppressing the thought and speech of conservatives? By exchanging history and REAL education in schools for this PC drivel? By defunding our military? By offering amnesty to illegal immigrant law-breakers?
Because those are the same ideas liberals bring forth time and again.
Please.
Then God should be FURIOUS with Iraq because this was done by savage beasts that ARE NOT American.
Jeez, ANOTHER generation of moonbats! When can we get this country back?
“Yesterday’s Flower Children are Todays Blooming Idiots”!
What is so sad is how these kids don’t understand how un-american doing this is.
I’m sure they say their new pledge while wearing their Che shirts
What’s sad is the very things they omit - God, the military, etc. - are the very things that made it possible for them to live the lives they live.
Regardless of whether or not you believe in God or country, you should show a measured amount of respect for the nation and the belief system that gave you so much freedom.
This kids have no respect.
WTF?!
There ought to be a course on the first amendent. It amazes me how no one seems to understand the fact that the phrase “separation of church and state” aren’t in there.
…and I like how the Student Worker group uses the maoist star in it’s logo. Good Grief
I guess “liberty and justice for all” just isn’t “diverse” enough.
These kids should be marked absent each time they walk out. And thier grades should reflect the large number of absences. If it jepordizes their chance at graduating on time, maybe they’ll follow the rules. With this kind of attitude about authority, I would never hire anyone that behaved this way in high school.
When the students start dictating to the school, all is lost in public education.
What am I saying? Given the liberal attitude of the faculty, all is lost in some places i.e. Boulder.
Once these kids start paying taxes and living in the real world like the rest of us, I will be a bit more inclined to get excited about this.
Right now they are in to the proverbial burning of bras (and whatever else), anti-establishment, anti-authority faze (yawn. zzzzzzzzzzz).
They are so impressionable, I am sure they would salute a pile of mash potatoes fashioned into the shape of an alien mountain if Angelina Jolie said it was the cool thing to do.
Something tells me if they spent as much time on their homework and studying for their exams as they did on this nonsensical pledge they would be a bit more concerned about he real threats posed to America…and just a hint kids…it ain’t the trees.
Take it from the source.
Fault #1:
Public-schooled kids obviously have no understanding (reading/comprehension) of the word “allegiance.”
Here is how my dictionary defines the word:
allegiance |əˈlējəns|
noun
loyalty or commitment of a subordinate to a superior or of an individual to a group or cause: those wishing to receive citizenship must swear allegiance to the republic
That’s a good idea.
But it’s proof of the liberal mindset that if you repeat something enough, it becomes reality even if ti’s
I don’t believe the Constitution is or should be a “living, breathing” document. Would you build your house on a foundation that was “living” or “breathing”? No because one day that “living, breathing” thing is either going to destroy your house or die.
So why would we want to build our nation on something “living” or “breathing”.
Believe me, my first choice for education would be homeschooling, followed by a private parochial school. But if we must hold our nose and go the public route, my husband and I will BOTH scrutinize the educational materials my son (or other future children) receive and challenge and supplement as necessary.
My son will not be corrupted or lied to by this politically correct, anti-religious, anti-American bull.
Sorry, my second paragraph should have read:
But it’s proof of the liberal mindset that if you repeat something enough, it becomes reality even if it’s got NO basis whatsoever in historical, factual truth.
Student Worker? You’re not working if you’re a high school student unless you’re part-timing at the head shop. Junior varsity moonbats angling for a scholarship to Ward Churchill U. where they can major in Protestology, with an emphasis on vulgar chants and giant puppet-making.
Though I doubt it was their intention to do so, these students have given us a perfect view of their mentality through the oath they’ve concocted.
Th pledge I took, as child and adult, was about my allegience to my country. For these contemptable snots the oath is about what they think our country owes them.
And that’s their worldview in a nutshell. It’s all about what’s good for them.
Bullseye!
I have a moonbat sister who says exactly the same thing. And I don’t believe her, either.
You don’t encourage others to reach their full potential by constantly berating them and never having anything positive to say. It’s one thing to suggest ways to improve; quite another to heap verbal abuse and expect the same result.
I can see lgm as a parent:
“Well, Johnny, you little b*stard, I see you still haven’t taken my advice to go to hell yet. All the neighbor kids are so good, why did I get stuck with such a little son of b*tch like you? When are you going to surprise me, and do something right for a change, you miserable failure…?
And why are you looking down at your shoes, anyway? Stand up straight, you moron! Don’t you understand how much I love you, and want to see you make something out of your tragically unended life?”
Someone near Boulder should look into this club. “Worker” is one of those Communist words that kids don’t come up with on their own. There has to be some sort of tie–money, the advising faculty member, promotional materials–to A.N.S.W.E.R. or another of the international Communist parties.
Here in Texas, at least, some schools DO say The Pledge in Spanish - they said it first in English, then in Spanish at the school in which I did my student teaching last school year… Followed by The Texas Pledge English/Spanish. Funny thing - how many of those kids pledging allegiance to The United States of America aren’t citizens, and arrived here illegally??
Pardon me a minute whilst I vomit….
“conservative activists” needed for PEACEFUL recital of the pledge of allegiance outside Boulder High School
I am planning a PEACEFUL recital of the current pledge of allegiance outside Boulder High School on Thursday, October 4th at 8:30 am. The purpose of this counter-protest is to show support for the American flag and the pledge of Allegiance. I am asking people that show up to bring the American flag with them and show respect to the flag and to everyone else there.
Boulder High School 1604 Arapahoe Ave, Boulder CO — Thursday, October 4th at 8:30 am
Guess how I can tell this was written by public school students? Check out the incomplete sentence!
