Goose Creek update: Pipe bomb jihadists sought to hurt troops
I know. You’re shocked, shocked:
A suspended University of South Florida student facing explosives charges regarded American troops and U.S. allies as invaders of Arab countries, an FBI agent says in federal court documents filed this week.
The agent’s affidavit gives more details about a secretly taped conversation between Ahmed Mohamed, 26, and fellow student Youssef Megahed, 21, and also about the contents of Mohamed’s laptop.
In a sworn affidavit, FBI Special Agent Daniel J. McTavish said that when agents searched Mohamed’s hard drive they found a folder named “Bomb Shock.” It contained files of information on explosives, explosive ingredients and downloads from Web sites about explosives.
Investigators also found another folder labeled “High-Order Explosives,” which included information on the composition and use of explosives, including TNT and C-4…
…Mohamed’s laptop also contained a 12-minute video on transforming a toy remote-controlled car into a detonator. The face of the man narrating the video wasn’t seen, but FBI investigators said Mohamed admitted it was him.
“He explained that he made the tape to assist those persons in Arabic countries to defend themselves against the infidels invading their countries,” McTavish said in his statement.
And Mohamed “added that the technology which he demonstrated in the tape was to be used against those who fought for the United States,” he said.
Yes, question their patriotism.
The next hearing is an arraignment scheduled for October 3.

I hope they send these guys to jail for a long time and publicize it world wide for anybody else who gets stupid ideas like this.
Those fireworks really blew up in CAIR’s face.
Time for them to change the subject. Maybe they can stage another “hate crime” somewhere.
Jail nothing.
Hang them from a tall tree, and leave them there.
Maybe they can lay pipework for Chertoff’s needed plumbing repairs.
The only place I have seen this story, with any followup is on the net. Why hasn’t MSM followed up? Why is the media so reluctant to mention, Jihadists, Muslim extremist and the like?
*Gomer Pyle sez:
Surprise, suhprise surprise!
Now, where are them young middle eastern men that were riding the ferries…
I don’t question their patriotism. It just isn’t American patriotism that they practice.
It is high time to stop allowing individuals form hostile countries to come to this country on student visas. How many more Americans need to be murdered or maimed until someone issuing these visas buys a clue? Once again we have been very lucky and dodged another bullet because the Jihadist acted arrogantly and were careless enough to be pulled over on a routine traffic stop. A very good thing the officer’s detaining them were able to detect something was not right with these two.
Hello? MSM? Anybody home??? Hello?
Law enforcement does not do that in this country, thank goodness. But we should throw the book at these two fellows and throw away the key.

A shame, really.
I mean, they should be convited first, of cource…
THEN hung.
Another reason (as if we need one) to deport all muslim immigrants and ban muslim immigration from anywhere for any reason.
And expel the U.N. from our shores. Let them set up shop in a friendlier more tolerant less arrogant country, like maybe Saudi Arabia or possibly Iran.
Boomer, I’ll bet it wasn’t a routine traffic stop…
I live in Charleston about 15 miles from where these guys were stopped. The day after this went down somebody claiming to be FBI was quoted in the local paper saying things to the effect that this was no big deal, no terror connection, etc. He seemed to imply that the cops were just local Barney Fifes making a big deal about nothing. I don’t understand how someone can do this and still have a job in federal law enforcement. I wonder just how deep the rot is in these federal agencies.

Refer to #15… mebbe AlohaGuy is onto something, eh?
I’m glad they were SC cops, and not San Francisco cops.
I question their humanity.
It appears those nasty Christians are at it again.

Not shocked at all.
I -will- be shocked if these guys get the book thrown at them. Seems our legal system has a hard time holding terrorists accountable for their actions these days.
Alas but these are only two of so many in so many universities around our fair land. The tip of a very big iceberg and our Titanic is headed for them if they/we don’t take some pretty fast and serious corrective action. Yes, I know there is a lettice harvest and a diversity visa quota to meet, so let’s get on with it!
