Update 2:40pm Eastern. Remember Josh Lansdale? The left doesn’t want you to…
Full background here.
Update 12:30pm Eastern 10/2. Crikey. The moonbats launch an anti-Rush attack ad campaign.
Update 12:06pm Eastern 10/2. Rush comments on Harkin, top of his radio show: “I feel like apologizing to his family” for his behavior on the Senate floor. “Demeaning.” “So beneath the decorum” in the Senate…”They are trying to distract from their dismal approval ratings and failures.”
Update 11:15am Eastern 10/2. Bryan Preston, the man responsible for our Hot Air Absolute Moral Authority Card collection, adds a new one to the deck:
More: CNSNews.com interviews Senators about the story.

Update 8:30am Eastern : USAToday’s OnPolitics blog tracks the latest thrusts and parries: “There’s much more likely to be said about all this, we trust.”
Update: The Rush-hating left is almost beyond parody, but Scott Ott, as always, pulls it off: ‘Phony Vets for Truth’ Join Reid Attack on Rush Limbaugh.
Update: Glenn Reynolds wonders: “I noted back in 2004, the last time Harkin made this an issue, that the press was giving him a pass. Will it do so again? And why are the Democrats letting Harkin, of all people, get out front on this issue?”

Is there any doubt that Tom Harkin is a MoveOn.org Democrat?
Harkin attacking Rush Limbaugh on the Senate floor:
Well, I don’t know. Maybe he was just high on his drugs again. I don’t know whether he was or not. If so, he ought to let us know. But that shouldn’t be an excuse.
Why is Harkin counter-attacking so viciously?
Maybe this has something to do with it:

These losers, the Leftinistra, keep digging that Abyss of Obscurity deeper and deeper, don’t they?
Morons.
I can’t wait for the Repub. Senators who’ve done their homework on this to get on the floor – - – Phew Doggy!
It’s long past the time when we can begin to question the Democrats patriotism. I will question their patriotism every time they pull this crap.
Thanks to Frank Siegler (#36)and all other Vietnam vets–both those who were in the combat areas and were “merely” in at the time. Glad that all of you made it back. Thanks also to all the other era veterans and my colleagues in the service now.
(Sorry for getting a bit off topic, but I wanted to get my thanks in.)
Can all of you great people find it in your hearts to support one more?
My son reports to Navy boot camp on Wednesday.
Ever seen a 19 yr AF SMSgt get misty-eyed?

I heard the original Rush program. It was about one person, Jesse MacBeth, who was recently convicted to a five month sentence for lying about his non-service as a ranger and purple heart. He made it about 44 days in basic training, then lied about things in Iraq where he never went. The liberals believed every word he spoke or knew that he was lying, just like Al Sharpton knew that Tawana Brawley was a liar.

From Hillary at the Kos Convention.
We are certainly better prepared and more focused on, you know, taking our arguments, and making them effective, and disseminating them widely, and really putting together a network, uh, in the blogosphere, in a lot of the new progressive infrastructure, institutions that I helped to start and support like Media Matters and Center for American Progress.
Sounds like the junior senator confirmed my contention from Sunday: “Hillary and her backers have created an advocacy network whose expressed goal is to take down all of her critics in the media.
She continued:
You know, we’re beginning to match what I had said for years was the advantage of the other side. Uh, you know, when I made that comment about the vast right-wing conspiracy, I wasn’t kidding. Uh, what I never could have predicted is that it was not a conspiracy, it was just wide open and out there for everybody to see.
Harkin is a disgrace. I’m sad to say that this idiot was a representative of my home state of Iowa. I plan on moving back within the next year and I’ll do everything in my power to vote him out of office.
Anyone who lies about their military history in politics get’s an immediate no vote in my book. Their credibility is garbage. That includes this Senator Harkin. What a pathetic lout.
Moveon.org is made of the most worthless an unpatriotic congregation of misinformational morons I have ever heard of.
We really need to pray for this country. When we are at war with an enemy whose mission is to destroy us, our way of life and freedom around the world, to see & hear the supposed most powerful man in the US Senate like a sheep mutter partisan vitriolic lies against someone indicates to me that we are in very deep trouble. This branch of government is skating on dangerously thin ice when the people of the USA are being played as pawns in their power grab. The 2nd amendment is looming big as these fools in Washington denegrate our trust, the keepers of our security and the people who put the government in power to protect and preserve this republic.
300 feet? 20 kts ? Modest to a fault, even with the ‘greater’ qualifier.
Thanks for your service!
I just emailed (my, I am ashamed to say) Senator Reid and asked him to PLEASE hold hearings (after working hours, but televised). I want to see Harkin and Media Matters deposed in prime time.

FYI, President George W. Bush was a fighter pilot. Google it lightweight.
Has anybody mentioned “The New Republic” or “Private Scott Thomas Beauchamp”?
Anybody? Anybody?
Actual email sent to Sen. Harkin:
Most here pray a lot. As for me, you and your son are in my prayers. And thank you for your service and sacrifice of 19 years.

That is all we were ever cleared to say.
We kept track of numbers of days submerged underway and by the time I got out I had a total of a little over 9 years accumulated time at sea , submerged and on the hunt.
Tomorrow promises to be a two bagger — two bags of popcorn, extra large please.
Who knew, Harkin was the stolen valor type, it never seemed to come up while he was hiding behind the Senate’s speech and debate clause to say Limbaugh was doing drugs.
Perhaps Rush would like to take them on, face to face live on his radio show, no speech and debate clause protection just one on one, cage fight style.
Mac Ranger over at Macsmind relays that there may be and investigation ongoing by the IRS into the 501 (c) (3) status of Media Matters.

Rush today requested for Reid to come on his show.
Maye we should send that fool Harkin some paper airplanes.. sine he is a paper tiger.
Reid’s a coward. Our service men and women are brave enough to put their lives on the line. These politico’s aren’t even brave enough to put their reputation on the line.
A better color for the Democrats is yellow vice blue. In the next election we’ll count the red states and the yellow states.
Understood. Like SR71 pilots saying “higher and faster” than most other planes. Thanks again for your dedicated service. Ever hear of Chris “Boomer” Wilson? Schoolmate of mine who became Top Gun commander. Borrowed your submariners’ “Boomer” moniker because he broke the sound barrier and a few windows in PI.
Back on topic:
From Rush’s site:
And the movie version:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098258/
- a public condemnation and slander
- against a private citizen
- by a governmental body
- outside it’s enumerated powers
- intended to suppress a citizen’s voice
That’s as much a constitutional violation as the Democrat’s ongoing attempt to give D.C. representative powers.
Reid and Harkin; elevating the Patriotism debate to the level of championship limbo.
No one seems to have picked up on the saddest part of this: it’s working.
While we preach to our own choir about honesty and decent behavior, the other side is scoring with the Unwashed.
Enough so, in fact, that we are likely to begin ‘09 with a devious, pandering amoral mess (yup, Hillary) in the White House, along with the First Bubba.
At some point, we will have to fight the Reids, Harkins, Kerrys and other pond-scum with weapons they understand: we must demand accountability and lawful, rational behavior and raise unholy hell if they get out of line.
And we have to do it ourselves. The MSM won’t lift a finger against their pets.
I think you could have read that wrong, CommentGuy. The post you mentioned sez:
“It might be interesting if the IRS does investigate MM’s 501(3)c status”
That sounds more like it’s offered as a wish than as something that’s actually going on.
Although I’d love to see the Soro’s Media Matters attack machine run through the wringer!
Our Founders NEVER protected SLANDER AND LIES and TREASON. Those dont’ need to be “PROTECTED SPEECH” for people to see what they are. They’ll see that just fine in the PUBLIC TRIALS of the traitors.
George Soros is one of the most dangerous men in America, today. He has many of the Dems afraid to say what any American should say because of the money!!
Let us all give thanks for small favors such as this….this otherwise inconsequential incident serves, like others recently,to slowly but inexorably remove the veil of pretense that the Dems in Congress hide behind, and thus their duplicity and perfidy becomes manifest and palpably apparent to any and all….when your enemies are hell bent on cutting their own throats, the kindest thing you can do is hand them a razor and get out of the way
It’s quite comical how some on the left are just clutching at straws to try and paint themselves as patriotic, when they know full well that behind closed doors they despise our men and women in uniform. Why? It’s probably because they live up to a code and defend a definitive good from a definite evil, which stands squarely in opposition to the left’s morally relativistic view of life, which logically ends in an orgy of self aggradizement and gratification.
MrScribbler #118 wrote: “No one seems to have picked up on the saddest part of this: it’s working”
Actually, I don’t think so. The MoveOn.org ad hit a disapproval rating of 58% with 42% strongly disapproving. Only 23% of Americans approve of that ad. This was a major backlash. Just as there will be a major backlash once people become aware that HARKEN, the man who attacked Limbaugh yesterday is, himself, a PHONY SOLDIER.
People are not going to stop listening to Rush Limbaugh over this. In fact, I suspect his ratings (and ad rates) will rise. Ditto for the other conservative radio talk show hosts. I heard Levin tonight say that he is going to go to Nevada and work against Reid’s reelection when he runs again.
Harkin is now exposed as a phony, and this is something that the media cannot “gatekeep” or “goal tend” from the public. If Fox News doesn’t break the story, then Michelle’s web site (one of the fastest growing and most read sites on the ‘net) ALREADY HAS.
Soros screwed the pooch when his MoveOn.org libeled Petraeus. He screwed the pooch when Media Matters deliberately misquoted Limbaugh. Macranger says that he and others are planing to file complaints against Media Matters for violating 501(c)(3), on the basis of Mark Levin’s comments that Media Matters is Criminal Enterprise and their clear violation of the tax code.
Limbaugh’s apologoy to the troops on behalf of Media Matters was a master stroke.
Only time will tell, but I think that the MoveOn.org Democrats screwed up royally.
With all the problems of todays world, the Dem leaders of Congress are harping about this? This is a nothing story made up by a bunch of smear merchants on the Dem payroll. What a waste of a work day , their pay should be docked.
Here’s what James Lewis over at American Thinker had to say about Reid and Harkin.
American Thinker
Consider this…Who is really going to believe all this tripe? Certainly not Rush listener’s. The loons are cheering at a mirage of “victory.” They’ll try to “drink” this down only to find themselves gagging on the sand.
It’s pathetic to see “adults” conjure up a lie, then actually believe in the creature they conjured up. They think the creature is tame because they brought it to life. Some will never learn that it can’t be tamed, and will eventually turn on it’s master.
Proverbs 6:12-15
Kevlaur is correct Rush does support the troops and more so than any democrat ever will. i try not to miss Rush’s show but even if i do i can listen later on in the evening
Listening to harkin’s remarks that Rush Limbaugh is not permitted to critize the military becaue he never served speaks of hypocracy and reminds me of madam pelosi’s comments to Madam Condolezza Rice about the war because Miss Rice isn’t a mother and can’t understand the nature of maternal sacrifice in sending a child off to the military.

If the United States military is so disgraceful why then would Kerry, Murtha, Harkin and the like then use their stint in the military to bolster their image…perhaps because it gives them an air of credibility?
This is going to get uglier and stay that way for awhile. I saw this morning that Media Matters is now claiming that Rush has edited and spliced tape of his broadcast to support his (rightful) claim that he was talking about Jessie MacBeth.
Media Matters, the MoveOn crowd, Soros and most of all the Hildebeast realized they were stepping in it yet again and are now prepared to start telling one and all, who are you going to believe? Me or your lying eyes (ears)?
These people are lower than low. And if we aren’t careful we’re going to have them in complete control of the American political process and American government in about a year and a half.
It troubled me to read that the evangelical right is considering throwing their weight behind a third party candidate if they don’t get an anti-abortion candidate. Speaking for myself – as a Christian – I would beseech any on this site who are thinking this way to re-consider your stance. The events of the past few days simply hammer home the fact that we are faced with other far more pressing issues.
After all, it’s not going to do any good to try to advocate for your cause if it becomes a crime to speak about it. Don’t think it can happen? Then what in the world do you think is going on right now with this assault on Rush?
We have to start considering the far left in this country an enemy just as real as any foreign threat. Otherwise, all may be lost.
If it isn’t already too late.
Someone from hotair said it best:
If the Republicans want to raise funds in unprecedented amounts, just figure out a way to do a fake swearing in of Hillary as President. That should pry the money out of the tightest fist. Christian concervatives who talk about third party candidates must be reminded that except for one, every Republican candidate, even the ones not agreed with are preferable to Hillary Rodham Clinton and her loving spouse, William Jefferson Clinton. Charter members of the notorious Clinton gang our of Arkansas. Truly a criminal enterprise.

Governmentdrone, I second that.
Bought and paid for!
I sure missed a good thread, but had a slight family emergency since about 0900 hrs yesterday. They wife tried to slice part of her finger off at work and have been focused on her needs.
One thing I like about this site is we have a lot of “real” veterans that can produce a DD 214 if required. I never earned any combat medals myself, but I still served like everyone else. You still take inherent risks when in the Military and more GIs have died in training and other types of accidents (usually doing something stupid off-duty) during the post-Vietnam “cold war” era and the short time of so called peace until the current war.
Rush must really have the Dems scarred out of their minds if they are attacking this viciously. All they are doing is showing how they resemble their political party’s mascot and continuing to drive down every Americans confidence in their ability to lead. It is time to throw these bums and their RINO compatriots out of office. It the DOJ would concentrate on the voter fraud going on in this country not one election would every be won by these traitors.

United we stand, divided we fall.
I would like them to subpoena Mr. Limbaugh and sit down face to face to hear what he has to say about this.
But it won’t happen as these guys are dumb, not stupid.
My bad, I guess Bush’s stateside service in the Air National Guard does technically qualify him as a vet. Unlike Cheney who skirted his service by getting 5 deferrments. Zorro #105, because one knows how to fly a plane, does that make them a fighter? So what fighting did he actually do? Zorro, I suggest that you google Bush’s military record. There is more information out there about him being AWOL than there is of any actual combat he saw. I conceed that it is dispicable for Harkin or anyone to inflate their military record. But I am much less bothered by that, than those who used their influence to either avoid serving alltogether or get comfortable assignments out of harms way.
Senator Harkin (Reid, Clinton, etc…): It is called Google, look it up!
Every time I read something like this I become more and more dumbfounded. We live in a world where everything is taped, documented and ultimately archived for all humanity to review. Yet liberals still think they can say anything and no one will ever know the truth. It doesn’t matter if they are smearing Rush or lying about their own service, the fact remains they are too stupid to realize that information, records, speeches, radio shows, employment history, etc are all preserved for everyone to see.
Amazingly they continue to try and spin… amazing, simply amazing….
Instapundit pointed out this insightful commment by Harry Riehl:
http://www.riehlworldview.com/carnivorous_conservative/2007/10/harry-reid-oops.html
Les, I have a little quiz for you. Which had the most deaths during the Vietnam War, swiftboat crewmembers in combat? Or F-102 crewmembers stateside? The answer might surprise you.
Les, you’re mildly retarded, aren’t you?
You don’t send the son of the Director of the CIA to fight in a war overseas. you get him out of the military so as to avoid anything that might cause said Director to have to make difficult choices.
But thanks for playing.
I have a sneaking suspicious said dream-girl reads these comments.
To the commenter who’s son is headed to Great Mistakes, I’ll keep both him and his son in my thoughts.
This time of year, Great Lakes RTC should actually be pretty nice – temp wise, that is. It’s hell on earth in the middle of summer…
Harry Reid recently said: “No one over here endorses the ad that was in that newspaper. None of us do. But we want to talk about the war. They want to talk about an ad in a newspaper”
Unless, of cource, it gives them a chance to dig at a Republican…
But we all knew that already…
The liberals are sinking well below mud level at this point.
The more they bash Limbaugh, the stronger he becomes, on a personal level as well as a professional level.
Without the likes of Malkin, Coulter, Hannity, Limbaugh, Beck, Levin…..we’d be in one H$ll of a mess in not knowing anything.
THANK YOU to all those that keep us informed!!!!!
I forgot one more……Ingraham.
Thanks MM for letting this still serving Army medic in to this site.I think that the reason they jumped on this Rush thing is their way of appeasing their unhappy left, knowing how much they hate him.I love it when they do this because they always step in it when they do.
Thanks for letting me in. I, too, am a Vietnam Era vet – spent 22 years in the canoe club, and I don’t have to make myself more important. I know who I am and what I did. I live here halfway between Oakland and San Jose, so I guess you could say I’m in deep kimchi. Still have problems, though – I have never suffered fools gladly, and I probably never will. To paraphrase what I was told once, “I’d get into a battle of wits with the senator, but my mother taught me to never fight against an unarmed man.”
Vatar, so what’s the relevance to your question? And to SWJ719AWG, enough with the personal attacks. Your line of logic would say that any government employee in a decision making capacity(president/VP/senator/etc.) should never have a child in the military because they may make a decision based upon the best interests of the child, rather than what’s right for the country as a whole. I would argue that it would be a good thing to send all their children to Iraq so that they would have more of a personal investment in the decisions they are making that affect our soldiers. I guess Romney is using your logic in his thinking that his fine, able bodied sons are serving their country by trying to get him elected, rather than serving in the trenches with our soldiers.
les,
And your comments have what exactly to do with this thread?
This is about the attempts of the United States Government – in the persons of Harry Reid, J.Murtha, H.R. Clinton, et.al., to restrict or revoke the free speech rights of a private citizen, i.e. Rush Limbaugh.
It’s another example of the lefty libtards in this country whining about GW Bush supposedly doing something (”He’s stripping away all of our civil rights” your side continually screams without ever providing a concrete example of it) and then your side actually tries to do what they accuse Bush of.
I posted this quote once before, and I’m going to do it again here, because it has relevance to the real point of this thread – unlike your ad hominem attacks on our President and Vice President. The quote is from Bill Clinton in 1994 smack dab in the middle of his first term as president:
Coincidence that a Clinton front group (Media Matters) is now engaging in a coordinated smear campaign to stifle the free speech of a private citizen?
What say you, les? And please stay on topic or else go away and let the adults talk.
Harry Reid: “The surge has failed.” (before the surge started)
Dick Durbin: “If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags or some mad regime ?Pol Pot or others ?that had no concern for human beings.”
Harry Reid: “This war is lost.” (and we really are winning)
Ted Kennedy: “Our soldiers picked up where Saddam’s henchmen left off.”
Barak Obama: “The US military is air raiding civilians.”
John Kerry: “Our soldiers are terrorizing women and children in the dark of night.”
Do you call these DEMOCRAT comments being “supportive of the military”?
I’m stunned and amazed. I really am.
Tell you what. I’ll stop the personal attacks (you myopic nit) when you stop using them in a backhanded fashion against my President.
And yes, I’m suggesting that the heads of major US Agencies (FBI, CIA, Branch of the military, etc) should not serve in active combat roles in any way, shape, or form.
How exactly would someone act as director of the CIA if they find out their kid is a POW/hostage of AQ?
Not everyone would do something illegal (like use CIA assets to recover their kid/slaughter their captors), but some might. And it’s not a fair choice to force someone to make.
You see so set to the idea that one MUST serve in the military to be of value in this debate…
What branch were you again?
I ask because you seem to suggest it’s important. I disagree, but hey, it’s a free country.
Les, alias Leslie Neilson, a pilot in
“AIRPLANE” remember?
That was his service if my memory serves me correctly.
les, you said that Bush tried to “get comfortable assignments out of harms way.” If one wanted to be out of harms way, being a F-102 pilot was not the way to go, even if outside of Vietnam. More lives were lost to F-102 crashes during training missions, such as the ones Bush flew, than many other comparable jobs, such as swiftboats.
The basic point ( as a reminder ) is that ABC News & Brian Ross ran a story on Monday last week about ‘phony soldiers’.
Two days later, Rush ran a morning update talking about Jesse MacBeth, a soldier convicted of lying about his service and submitting false government forms, who was hoisted up by the left until his lies were discovered.
The fact is that his story not an anomoly. Others ’soldiers’ have done the same embellishment.
ABC news ran a story back in May about soldiers embellishing their military histories as well:
http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2007/05/fbi_on_the_look.html
The fact remains that THESE are the soldiers Rush was referring to – and it is these soldiers that Congress, if they talk about this subject at all, should be joining with Rush and others to condemn.
Instead, they waste time on a non-story and false premise by condemning Rush.
Conservatives are rightfully outraged by the falsifications, misrepresentations, omissions and outright lies from the Democrats and socialists/leftists/presstitutes/enemedia.
But we should not be surprised. Remember, all these people believe that the end justifies the means, and the lie is just another tool in their toolbox, to be employed as needed. This tactic will not change, as their basic nature will not change – they are deceitful and lying by nature. Thankfully we have the internet to expose them now!
gayle,
Les (aka Leslie Nielson) was the civilian doctor in Airplane.
Peter Graves (from the old Mission Impossible tv show) was the pilot you’re thinking of, I imagine.
“Do you like gladiator movies, Joey?”
Still makes me chuckle. =)
#146 Les”
First of all, drop the chickenhawk meme. We simply don’t allow that kind of smear on this site. It is a liberal talking point not based in reality and is designed to establish your “moral authority” when in actuality, it makes you look silly and stupid.
Secondly, you have a limited point about public servants and their kids in the military. There is nothing wrong with it as was shown during WW II when FDR’s son and cousin were both serving honorably.
But connecting that notion to it would be a “good idea” if lawmakers children were in Iraq misses the mark. With an all volunteer military, such decisions to serve are personal and none of your or our business.
Military service, like the priesthood, is a calling and is very, very tough; tough on families, tough on the soldier, tough all around. Liberals think others should protect them because they are too “smart” to enter military service but have no qualms about criticizing those who pass up military service for the same reasons they do.
Your argument is old, tired, and has lost any credibility whatsoever. It has simply become a talking point, no more.
Try another tack, please…
swj719AWG, I for one would hope that the head of any agency (CIA/FBI/whatever) would go to the same lengths to secure the release of any American soldier as they would to secure the release of their own child. If not, then they shouldn’t hold that position. I suggest that you look up the term myopic in the dictionary. Myopic -lacking tolerance or understanding. Sounds like you are pretty intolerant to opinions that don’t agree with your’s. I though this was suppost to be an open forum where one could engage in an intelligent debate. Maybe I’m wrong. Honestly I think its a waste of time for our elected officials of any party to spend time on resolutions to condem Rush, MoveOn or whoever. We have way too many real issues facing us and at the end of the day, what does it accomplish. Does it get us any closer to resolving this war, fixing our ailing infrastructure, providing health care to the needy, fixing the dollar, lowering gas prices, and on and on. Its just another ploy by both sides to get the real issues out of the spotlight.
They could not have picked a weaker lead-off batter. Kerry must be clean-up.
Can they really use Kerry after he called our service men/women terrorist?
for les #146:
I’ve got air conditioning in my car.
Now, what was your relevant point?

Jesse MacBeth: Phony
Asses of a feather flock together.
By the way, did I mention that back in ‘79 I singlehandedly infiltrated a Vietnamese prison camp with my 14-inch blade, rescued a group of POWs, blew up a pair of Soviet helicopters with grenade-tipped arrows and punched out my CO when I got back? Regards, Tom Harkin.
“Our troops are fighting and dying to bring to others the freedoms that many take for granted.”
(Punched the desk, hurt my hand, tons of swears in the office)
Who does this (bleeep) son of a (bleep) Mother (beep) (beep) a-wipe bastard think he is?! How dare this sniveling bastard talk about fighting for anyone’s freedom when he and that worthless collection of bastards who occupy the people’s house in Washington can’t amount to a single celled creature.
God damn them, I hope we have another terrorist attack and this time they do nail the Congress while they’re in session scratching their behinds, screw them!
Our troops have been stabbed in the back since Korea by these monkies, they were being stabbed in the back all through the 80’s and 90’s when Islamic freaks were killing our marines, shooting our sailors and bombing our troops as they slept. Screw the whole rotten collection of misfit suit wearing bastards!
In my opinion, Congress should be dragged from their offices to prison barges on the Potomac, shackled to a wall till the end of the war then sent to the Socialist nations not of their choice to die by hanging or a firing squad when they try to tell those repressive governments to stop their barbarian madness.
Once we rid ourselves of these fools and fight the war to the proper conclusion where every maniac jihadist is hanging from a spit or burning to a cinder in a radioactive hell, then we shall have peace on earth once more.
Screw you Harry Reed you bastard.

Rick Moran, I’m having a hard time connecting the dots on your logic. You say “Liberals think others should protect them because they are too “smart” to enter military service but have no qualms about criticizing those who pass up military service for the same reasons they do”. So if you are a conservative and pass up military service, exactly what does that say about you. Doesn’t that also say you are expecting someone else to protect you? Yes we do have an all volunteer army, and its dishonest of you to imply that only liberals aren’t volunteering.
These clown get to lie and smear with impunity. When will they be held to account, not by us, but by their peers?
Michelle,
the only way to make sure that this smear does not stand is to stand up and mobilize. Everyone reading this, I urge you to email your senators and Rep, and I also urge you to email clear channel and tell them to stand with their star and stand publicly. Here is their information.

Rush just played a clip of a speech Hillary Clinton made where she seems to take credit for creating Media Matters and Center for Progressive Freedom (or something like that). Looks like a violation of campaign finance laws to me.
It caused Newt to step aside.
les!!!
Why won’t you address the comments and the point of this thread?
It’s about the Democrats in power in the Senate and the House using the power inherent in the system to try to silence a private citizen and deprive him of his first amendment rights! This goes way beyond “wasting time” on a “resolution”.
If you think this isn’t a “real” issue, then you are mistaken. This is as real as it gets. This is an assault on the Bill of Rights – and what’s more important in this day and age?
This is what your ilk constantly whines about – the assault on our freedoms.
Where is your outrage now? Or is it not outrage worthy since it’s happening to a conservative?
Enough with the off-topic distractions. Leave that for Harry Reid and Hillary Clinton. This is the real world. Address the topic.
Methinks I smell a hypocrite and a troll.
Sent this to harkin’s office yesterday:
Senator,
Your comments regarding Rush Limbaugh on the Senate floor were made with considerable disregard for the truth and left thousands of people with the impression that you are nothing but a petty, poltroon who has outlived his usefulness as a serious representative of the people of this great nation.
Looking at your record I found that you LIED about your military service again and again. Let me say that again. You LIED about your military service. Have the decency to retire and save us all from your corrupted hatred of good Americans.
Best regards,
The really scary part is that they are pandering to an uneducated voter base who may not have “maps and such” believe that we should “get out of Iraq” and assist the South Africans with our “Education System” I wouldn’t wish our education system on the poor people of South Africa- they deserve much better. They believe (probably not too innacurately) that they can get away with this crap. Their base, including Dingy Harry – do not have to research any of the nefarious claims that they support and obviously do not review what was actually said nor the importance of the statement. The categorical destruction of any oppostion from the right is pathetic, transparent and unAmerican
Lies go on day after day
Truth’s torn in every way
So ferry from Atsugi
‘Combat’ is the place I love
And here I’ll bray
People, Rush is everywhere
But we hear what we want to hear
So ferry from Atsugi
And always take me there
The ‘combat zone’ I loved
Dems around every corner
They seem to smile and say
We don’t care what the truth is boy
We’ll never turn you away
So I’ll continue to bray
Here I always will bray
So ferry from Atsugi
Cause this ‘combat’s’ the ‘record’ I love
This lie I’ll bray
This lie I’ll bray
This lie I’ll bray
Oh, sorry, Gerry and the Pacemakers…
