Miller Lite-approved: Toddlers at the Folsom Street Fair

By Michelle Malkin  •  October 1, 2007 03:37 PM

Update: A call from B. Daniel Blatt for gay leaders to demand that Folsom Street Fair prevent children from attending.

***

It’s not just 17-year-olds who were welcome at the Folsom Street Fair leather/bondage orgy.

Check out the photos of two-year-old twin toddlers in attendance at the 2005 fair. (Hat tip - LGF commenters)

Look. At. The. Children’s. Clothes.

One is wearing a leather-studded harness. Via the Xpress Online:

folsomtwins002.jpg

The caption on the photo reads:

“Veronica Kruschel, 2, drinks water while her twin sister Zola enjoys the Folsom Street Fair environment. Their parents Gary Beuschel and John Kruse (not photographed) watch nearby while having a lunch break.”

More from the accompanying article:

Two-year-olds Zola and Veronica Kruschel waddled through Folsom Street Fair amidst strangers in fishnets and leather crotch pouches, semi and fully nude men.

The twin girls who were also dressed for the event wore identical lace blouses, floral bonnets and black leather collars purchased from a pet store.

Fathers Gary Beuschel and John Kruse watched over them closely. They were proud to show the twins off.

“They will see more than the kids with moms and dads in Iowa,” said Beuschel, who wanted to expose his children to San Franciscos diverse community. “Every parent has to decide for themselves what is right for them. And I respect that. And we decided that this is right for our children.”

Beuschel and his girls were at the 22nd Folsom Street Fair, an annual leather event in San Franciscos South of Market district, which showcased outrageous costumes, fetish attire, and a community obsessed with bondage, whipping, and spanking.

For crying out loud:

“Why do (these people) bring kids here? This is a leather fair for god’s sake,” said Bahran Aliassa, who was masturbating in public. He has been doing it annually for the past six years.

Oakland resident Veronica Charles, 36, was with a baby stroller and said her son was too young to understand. “I don’t think I’ll bring him here when he is 6,” Charles said.

Brought to you by the proud sponsors at Miller Lite…

Zombie was there at this year’s fair.

Just in case you needed not-safe-for-work reminders of what these toddlers were exposed to, watch here.

I wrote to Miller again, and here’s the text of my e-mail:

    Dear Julian:

In a follow up to my e-mail of last week, it has come to my attention that the organizers of the Folsom Street Fair allow children as young as age 2 into the Fair.

Please see Michelle Malkin’s blog for the details regarding this deplorable behavior, including a picture of a 2-year-old girl and her twin sister, clad in studded leather, drinking from their bottles at the Fair.

While I understand that Miller is not directly responsible for who attends the Fair, Miller’s sponsorship of this event does indicate that Miller condones this behavior. Personally, I classify exposing children to half-naked (or almost totally naked), leather-clad, sadomasochistic individuals and sex toys as abuse.

As a corporate sponsor, Miller needs to hold the organizers of the Fair responsible for making sure that only adults (age 18 and up) attend this event. I could not (nor would I ever) take my son into a shop that sells sex toys, pornographic videos, or the like. In fact, most places require anyone entering the store show proof of age via IDs.

Simply because the Folsom Street Fair is an “open air” event does not absolve the organizers from the responsibility of protecting children from what can easily be classified as sexual abuse.

I will NEVER buy another Miller product. Miller’s support of this indecent, inappropriate behavior is irresponible and disgusting.

    I am outraged.

And I agree - CPS needs to be called and these girls need to be protected. How messed up must their home life be if they’re exposed to this in public? San Francisco or not, NO ONE deserves to abuse children in this manner.

Then if so, yes, those poor girls will see more. As a Midwesterner, I am offended by both the slur on Iowa AND the thinly veiled jibe on 2 (opposite sex) parent households. However, those 2 digs don’t even register in terms of offense as to what those 2 innocent girls had to witness. I’m taking my 1 year old daughter to the Lincoln, NE Haymarket this weekend, where she can get some REAL culture. God willing, she will never see anything like San Fransisco until she is a more appropriate age. Like 42…

    This is beyond deplorable!

If adults (21+) want to participate/attend in a disgusting event such as this, that is their discretion as adults.

However, subjecting children to this is akin to showing them pornography at home, which would have CPS knocking on your door ASAP.

But, since this is San Francisco, it’s all done in the interest of ‘enlightenment’ and ‘diversity’, because you know, we must not judge them!

    Pathetic!

If you look at the pictures, most of them aren’t even that offensive to me. So, people are in wacky costumes. Big deal. The public sexual acts are the problem. Until those are stopped, children should be kept away.

I mean, no one complains when tykes are walking down Commercial Street in P-Town surrounded by drag queens and people in leather. Because in P-Town, people are more behaved. That’s what the Folsom Street Fair should strive for.

There are gay couples who are great parents, but they won’t make it in the news.

The Folsom Street Fair is a spectacle not only for the raunch, but also because these are the people and pics that get put on the news, and the blogs. People point to this and say,” That’s why gays aren’t equal to everyone else. This proves they are deviants.” (See above posts for examples.)

It is disgusting and Miller should be boycotted. BUT blaming all gay parents or the entire community at large isn’t the answer.

Other raunch festivals have explicit age limits with an ID required. Some even require visitors to sign a waiver.

Miller has a long history supporting the gay community, HOWEVER this is going WAAAY too far.

Back in the 1970’s and 1980’s, the only companies who would advertise in gay news publications were adult entertainment businesses. Now we know why.

As bfor the whole “diversity” crap. Exposing your children to raunch and expalining it away as “culture” is crap. Most parents wouldn’t take their kids to a porn store. This is no different.

People such as this are unfit to guide the development of another human being. They veil something like this in exposing their kids to “culture” and then demand “equal rights”?

It amazes me that anyone could become so totally skewed in their perception of right/wrong that they would think this appropriate.

I’m gay. And I’ll go on the record and say that, as a community, until we collectively begin to conduct ourselves in such a manner to justify being granted civil unions or marriage, we should be denied such. These people sully the very idea of marriage and family by their actions alone.

However, the Champagne of Beers will never darken my door again. I don’t care if I have a party and someone brings it along. I will never buy it at a sports event, concert, what have you. Last year at this time I called a half dozen “leaders” of Miller to complain of their stupidity of being blackmailed by pro-illegal alien groups for $30,000, after they discovered that Miller had given $2,000 to their OWN Congressman, Sensenbrenner. I used http://www.millerbrewing.com/aboutMiller/aboutleaders.asp

Tom Long, President and CEO, or at least someone who represented himself as Mr. Long, called me on Labor Day Sunday afternoon to respond to my complaints. We had a 15 minute educational chat. I explained that DEMOCRATS, not Sensenbrenner, made sure that ‘felony’ was part of HR 4437. Therefore, Miller cluelessly gave in to blackmail. http://www.jmi.com/immigrationmarches/#housevote

They are still clueless, and worse.

The screenings for adopted children, in my experience, are very, very strict. I’m wondering how these two ever made it. Not because they are gay, but because they are decadent enough to dress toddlers in what could be construed as as sexual gear. Perhaps child welfare should be looking at these two?

Well, welcome to SF. The city of the mentally challanged and nonsensical communist elites.

There has been a campaign underway here to SEEK out Gay, Lesbian and Transgender parents for adopting/fostering children here in the bay area. I couldn’t prove it either way, but I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if perspective gay and transgender parents are given preference over straight parents based solely on account of political agenda.

Out here we really do have reverse discrimination.

Why would a city be “seeking out” a certain demographic instead of relying on those who willingly come forward voluntarily to adopt.

It matters not that these parents are FIT to the SF community et, al (Mr. Gavin) but more that they are GAY. With these types of priorities…no wonder we have “Babes in Joyland”

    It is an absolute joke.

The link above lists quite a few brands (under the Global Operations heading), and some of the more common state-side include:

    Fosters
    Pilsner Urquell
    Peroni
all the Miller Brewing Company stuff:

Perhaps I’m misreading your comment (and if I am, forgive me) - but I KNOW they don’t specifically sell studded collars for children.

I find it appalling these “parents” went to a pet store to specifically to purchase dog collars for their children to wear to this fest of depravity. Were I the clerk in this store, and they had mentioned their intentions, I would have not sold them the collars. Period.
