Snorting at The New Republic

By Michelle Malkin  •  October 2, 2007 05:48 PM

Snorty-snort-snort.

Hoo-boy.

The New Republic: My new favorite unintentional humor magazine.

If I could cackle like Hillary right now, I would.

MM is right; we should be able to LOL at this stuff, but sadly I’m not going to get too excited; I’ve seen the lying sack-of-libs remarkably use these things to their advantage in this hideous parallel universe they’ve created. I’m staying tuned….

This all reminds me of the time I wrote my Pulitzer winning magazine article on - oh wait, I didn’t actually, I made that up. But if I had it would have been about the time in ‘Nam, no wait I wasn’t there either. But when I was in Congress - no, uh, well anyway I’m going to hold my breath until Rush turns Blue!

    So let’s get this right:

According to them, if you did not serve in the military but support the War on Terror, you cannot since you do not have the authority to do so. In fact, you need to immediately run down to the recruiter and not only sign up yourself, but sign all your children up as well, regardless of any other factors that may preclude that…such as how ridiculous and callous that statement is. Also, since you support the WoT, you are not the one who actually supports the troops, since they are the ones that want them home…regardless of what it will do to their morale, the way the world views this country etc. ala Vietnam, thus they are truly the ones that are supporting them. Add to that, the fact that the only soldiers they believe have a voice in this are the ones who speak out against the war, Bush and everything Right…whether they actually served in the military or not.

now, if you are a soldier who served or is serving, and you support the mission and the war, a civilian who supports the mission and the war etc., you are nothing but a “Right-Winged Hack” who is only spouting the Party Line following getting your “Marching Orders” from Bush and Cheney and thus, only worthy of insults, lies and derision.

Am I getting this right? Did I miss anything?

Liberals love the “do as I say and not as I do.” They would twist anything to make it look favorable to them.

They have no knowledge of truth- whatsoever. It’s sad.

I think it’s funny how they think they’re soooo superior to everyone else though!

Someone needs to knock them all off of their pretentious little pedastools.

If I could cackle like Hillary right now, I would.

Here’s something we should all remember about Hillary:

“We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.”

“We must stop thinking of the individual and start thinking about what is best for society.”

“It’s time for a new beginning, for an end to government of the few, by the few, for the few, and to replace it with shared responsibility for shared prosperity.”

“We can’t just let business as usual go on, and that means something has to be taken away from some people.”"

“We have to build a political consensus and that requires people to give up a little bit of their own turf in order to create this common ground.”

“I certainly think the free market has failed.”

“I think it’s time to send a clear message to what has become the most profitable sector [oil] in the entire economy, that they are being watched.”

“What I want to do is take those profits and apply them to alternative energy.”

Karl Marx or Frederick Engels said none of these things; Hillary Clinton said them all.

COMPLETELY off topic but….did anyone watch “The Unit” tonight? Seems a right-wing conspiracy led by a super-efficient CIA is secretly “transferring” terrorist prisoners to a watery grave in the Caribbean! Seems the rationale is that once the Dems win in 2008 “the lefties” will release them all!
Seems the CIA wants to rub out “the Unit” because they know too much, and seeks to obtain bogus confessions falsely implicating them in prisoner executions actually being illicitly carried out by “The Agency”.

Whew! Someone’s gone round the bend! The writers and producers forget that the audience watching this series is pro-military and anti-terrorist — and that upending the plot to make the series an anti-Bush vehicle embracing a paranoid ight-wing conspiracy is gonna drive that audience away. But somehow, don’t ask how, LEFTIST weenies will tune in to admire Jonah and his team’s sense of Honor, Duty and Country to fill the gap!

    LOL!

Lord, I love the smell of “liberal” desperation in the evening!!!

But I will no longer watch this leftist tripe.

TNR, Foer, Fairbanks, et al don’t really care about how they look to reasoning Americans for injecting themselves into this issue, because they will continue to have their contingent of left-wing nuts lapping up the words they print.

No sensible person would give credence to anything that they spew.

Reid, Pelosi, Schumer and the like may but that just reinforces my last point.

TNR’s “investigation” of the Beauchamp fables is already, if unofficially, concluded. The conclusion can be borrowed from statement I’ve heard:

“I reject your reality, and substitute my own…”

Foer, Fairbanks and all the rest at TNR - and their loyal readers - will go to their graves insisting that what Beauchamp said was absoluely true, just like Dan Rather and Mary Mapes’ last words on this earth will be, “But those documents are real! I know they are!”

The Achilles’ Heel of the left is that what they really do know - in the objective sense of that term - is that under no circumstnces can they undertake an honest self-evaluation of the negative emotions and ugly feelings underlying their world view. For if they ever did, their whole existence would first unravel and then implode.

Think in terms of the psychological patient who wears that permanently fixed 1,000-yard stare into the abyss of catatonia. That’s what they’d end up like.

No surpise then, that lefties cling so tenaciously to their alternative reality. And no surpise that they just “know” things about the people they hate: it spares them the mental effort to have to really look at the facts, while shielding them from the adverse effects of having those facts contradict their sense of what’s real.

In LeftWorld, it’s not a question of “whether” Rush Limbaugh “smeared the troops as phony soldiers.” It’s already their internalized reality: something they just “know” without having to prove, indeed something so necessarily and indisputably real to them that no amount of trying to prove a negative to them will ever succeed.

The debate must never be seen as trying to “salvage” those on the left. They’re gone. The intellectual battle must be to show those who haven’t broken with the real world yet, and whose brains are still succeptible to influence by facts.
