Crush Rush Democrats can’t make up their minds
Just like you can’t be a little bit pregnant, you can’t be a little bit nutroots. If you are going to throw your lot in with the MoveOn/MediaMatters mob, you do it all the way. Democrat House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer appears to have some misgivings about the Crush Rush Express.
First, he talks the macho talk:
A resolution introduced by 20 Democrats urges the House to condemn the “unwarranted slur” made by Mr. Limbaugh, though it does not condemn the broadcaster himself.
Their push, not coincidentally, comes after House and Senate Republicans maneuvered some Democrats into voting to condemn an advertisement by MoveOn.org in The New York Times last month that referred to Gen. David H. Petraeus as “General Betray Us.”
“What’s good for the goose is good for the gander,” Representative Steny H. Hoyer, Democrat of Maryland and the House majority leader, said Tuesday.
But then, this:
House Democratic leaders still had not decided Tuesday whether they would bring up the resolution denouncing Mr. Limbaugh’s comments, which is likely to spark a partisan free-for-all on the floor.
Mr. Hoyer, despite his goose and gander view, was not so sure that House members should get into the business of unleashing a resolution of disapproval each time they encounter something of which they disapprove.
“I think, frankly, I would like to see us restrain ourselves in condemning through resolutions all of that with which we disagree,” Mr. Hoyer said. “I have a zillion resolutions that I could think of pursuing that objective.”
Buck up, Steny. There’s no turning back.
The unhinged moonbats await.

Another notable quotable from Rush: Liberalism is the most gutless choice you can make.
Words to live by!
Interesting to say the least … but I must question the reasons for such a change in outlook … could it be:
Pangs of Conscience? … nah… that’s not a DemoCrap trait.
Took time to get facts straight? … no way … that defies all leftist logic.
Got enough backlash he is worried about re-election? … B I N G O !!! …
I question the timing.
Our tax dollars at work. Sigh. When various fiscal crisis are upon us (i.e., social security, medicare, medicaid) I hope we remember moments like this.
It’s all a lie to begin with…
So apparently hoyer doesn’t see the difference between a 4 star general and a talk radio host. Not surprising.
Can they please get back to passing appropriation bills? After all they were supposed to have them all ready for the President’s signature on 15 Sep 07 (by the laws they have passed). I’m sure there is a few billion they need to add to each in pork. What I wouldn’t give to see an appropriation bill pass through both the House and Senate without a single rider attached but, that would take the total suspension of disbelief.
Back 11 years ago when my daughter was in daycare I used to arrive early and watch all the kids play in the schoolyard 2,3,4, year olds together more well behaved and mature than our Senate. This group has me sick to my stomach.
Maybe bringing back the video montage of Reid, Murtha, Durbin and others bad mouthing our troops, declaring “the war is over, we lost” and other such nonsense is giving them second thoughts?
Could it be?
Although I agree attempting to condemn the comment is a stupid waste of time and completely a stunt (based on a lie) to try to pacify a certain delusional segment of the population, on another level, I say – keep all of congress busy with this “task”. If they are busy debating this stuff, they are not enacting legislation – and my observation is that almost everything they do, they mess up. Don’t let them do anything.
Thank God for people like Michelle
Malkin, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, David Horowitz, and Andrew Wilkow.
They are true American heroes.
They are fighting for our freedom every day, against the enemy within, so that we ordinary people, who work at ordinary jobs, don’t have to.
Keep up the good work, Michelle.
I wonder if they realize what a can of worms they’re opening, if they try to pass a resolution condemning Rush, after not condemning MoveOn.org’s “Bretray-Us” ad, let alone remarks by Murtha, Kerry, et al defaming our soldiers.
Maybe that’s why Hoyer is getting cold feet.
I think before it’s done, Rush will have the phony patriots declaring uncle.
You are right about getting in the fight, but Rush can do it for himself nicely. If the liberals were smart, they would pick around the edges, not head on with Rush or ORielly. That might be their fatal flaw.
Slur? Since when did the military become a racial group?
Well.. I guess I’d rather congress spin their wheels doing inane business like this rather than figgure out how to take away more of my money and rights as a citizen. Keep at it! Next Howard Stern will be condemned for his depravity.. Right? I’m waiting!
I think the 11% approval rating is quite a bit high.
It’s time to call for the arrest and impeachment of Harry and his gang of traitors. Congress has overstepped its authority to become an out of control, illegal alien hugging, foreign enemy friendly imperial entity.
Does anyone else think that the real reason the Democrats are having second thoughts is that they don’t want to give Rush a Congressional podium? Just imagine Rush testifying before a Congressional committe about exactly who he was referring to when he made the “phony soldiers” comment. If the Republicans were smart, they would use the opportunity to display each and every “phony soldier” in public for the whole world to see. This would expose the tactics of the far-left, as well as the posers themselves. Michelle & Friends could help them write the list of every falsified service record. Since some current members of Congress on that list, it’s obvious why they would want this issue to just go away.
Ideology: check
Ambition: check
Backbone: none
Soon enough their numbers will be below the margin of error…
So priceless…
TimDenchanter, I have enough trouble trying to figure out what it is I am going to wear in the morning. Trying to figure out why Dems do what they do…is an exercise in futility.
We witnessed how they treated a Four Star General when he came before them to testify. Before he said a word he was labeled a liar…It clearly wasn’t worth his time.
This is a complete disgrace. I was listening to that broadcast and Rush was CLEARLY talking about soldiers claiming to have witnessed attrocities that were clearly false as they were never in Iraq or in the service at all!
He was reffering to ACTUAL phonies. I am getting angrier by the day at the fact that Fox News and the like are not trumpeting this and exposing the Dems for their lies.
This ‘retreat’ in strategy ( funny how that term keeps being associated with the Democrats ) is just another example of how they keep shooting themselves in the foot.
Amnesty for illegals = Uproar from Americans = Back Down
Smearing of Petraeus = Uproar from Americans = Resolution
Smearing of Limbaugh = Uproar from Americans = Retreat from comments
I use an appropriate analogy when teaching:
Go ahead Democrats / Liberals – keep banging your head on the glass….
We’ll sit back and sweep off the window sill in 2008.
What minds?
30 pcs of silver,
Know what you mean, but I can’t help myself. I’m an analyst. It’s not just a job, it’s a personality trait.
don,
You might want to watch Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly as they have each been exposing every aspect of the Dem’s lies in this story. Well worth a few chuckles.
Is Rush going to thank them for all the free publicity..I mean when a legislative body, takes time out of it’s busy partisan wrangling day, to single you out. I can only imagine this made Mr Limbaugh’s ratings soar.
I repeat again, Harry Reid makes me miss Tom Daschel…and I was really happy when Tom lost his re election.
LOL
And in related suppression of freedom of speech news…
In going after Rush on this sham, the pansies from Move-On, aided by their light in the loafer counterparts in Congress, have merely told us what time of day it is.
It is high noon.”
“Welcome everyone to our annual Liberal Day Parade. I’m Libby Knowall here with my co-host Justin Crapweasel. Great to be here. And now here comes our first the float sponsored by the Democrat Senate & House, the theme they chose this year is called ‘Moral Bankruptcy.’ They depict a farm scene with a real pigs and donkeys, but they’ve added a colorful touch to it. They’ve painted the fence around the sty pink, and the animals are dyed yellow…ooohh the little yellow donkey is sooo cute…and look! the farmer, Old McSoros, is throwing money into the crowds as they pass! That is so wonderful. He’s even feeding it to the pigs and donkeys. Wow! His money must grow on trees…and look there’s Ms MoveOn McSoros…oh my! She’s spanking one of the little donkeys. Must have been a baaaad little donkey. O look! here comes the next one. Goodness! It’s the scene of a train wreck…the side reads ‘Air America…’”
TimDenChanter, just looking out for ya.
LOL Augustine…you gotta keep that going though! That’s good stuff
Tim DenChanter-
I think the Dems are very afraid to give Rush and his supporters on the Hill a podium.
Also, I think they realize what idiots they were to allow Harkin to speak for them..of all people??!!…and how that would backfire if they got into a debate with Rush supporters on the Hill.
Imagine Harkin having to listen to his lies come back to haunt him once again, only this time on C-Span and YouTube, com!!!
I think it would be great, but you can imagine how the Dems know it would hurt their “cause”.
Know this is a rhetorical question, but it never ceases to amaze me – how can they even look at themselves in a mirror? Or sleep at night? I guess that’s one of those things I’ll never know
There must be some kind of legal repercussions for Congress publishing a resolution based on falsehoods. Something is up or Hoyer wouldn’t be backing off.
I prayed for Rush this morning and this is the verse that I prayed over him:
Psalm 35:1-5
“Plead my cause, O LORD, with those who strive with me;
Fight against those who fight against me.
Take hold of shield and buckler,
And stand up for my help.
Also draw out the spear,
And stop those who pursue me.
Say to my soul, ‘I am your salvation.’”
“Let those be put to shame and brought to dishonor
Who seek after my life;
Let those be turned back and brought to confusion
Who plot my hurt.
Let them be like chaff before the wind,
And let the angel of the LORD chase them.”
It’s the same verse I pray for George W. Bush daily as well.
I am glad to see the LORD answering this prayer today….may the confusion continue!
The Democrats have never forgiven Rush for coining the word “feminazi”, which has now become part of everyday speech.
Don’t forget Neal Boortz and Glenn Beck.
Augustine ..LMAO!!!!
GOOD stuff!
I’ll add my three cents of comedy;
At the tail end of this parade, comes Gen. David H. Petraeus with cannons and guns blastin’ at those darn varmits!
All dressed in RED and WHITE……with his posse armed with chainsaws, zzzzzoooooommmmmmmmmmm…..chiseling away at those tree huggers!
Oooooooh……feels sooooo good, claims those hippie droids! Just feel the vibrations….(while toking that funny grass stuff….) while the cows just mooooooo.
Ummm…WHY do you think the lefties are so hardcore in favor of abortion???
Well, they eat their own, don’t they?
STALINIST ATTACKS AMPLIFIED BY THE “USEFUL IDIOTS” IN THE MEDIA.
THIS SOUNDS LIKE HUXLEY AND “1984″.
http://www.politico.com/blogs/thecrypt/1007/Clear_Channel_CEO_responds_to_Reid.html
Can you say “shove it in your piehole?” Wow – three cheers for Clear Channel!
Michelle,
Have you seen the new ad by an Iraq war vetran against Rush? He also tells you he was wounded with shrapnel in his head, do you think that afected his judgement at all? You cannot make this up.
Hoyer actually sees that this is making all of them look like fools.
There is no turning back now, at least for the senate, so, they press on by sending a letter to the CEO of Clear Channel for a public condemnation of Rush (I’m suprised my senators Kohl & Feingold did not sign).
This is just another example of why I left the party years ago. The insistance that something not true, is, and that by pounding the drum over and over eventually convinces them and the sheeple that it is fact.
Unfortunately, in this world, perception is reality for most because most don’t care or don’t bother to seek the truth.
Rush is a phenomenon.
Yes, he will prevail.
But the Stalinists in our government have revealed themselves, and we got work to do!
God Bless Rush and MM!
“And welcome back to our live coverage of the annual Liberal Day Parade sponsored by Chompsky Cereal Bars made with real alfalfa and potatoe starch, the all natural way to keep Motherland moving. Hi I’m Lib Knowall with Justin Crapweasel, back to the parade…Hey Crap…here’s the next float. It’s the Hillary float!!…and her theme this year is called Money Train. Awww it’s a little red train and she named it Hsu Hsu…Oh hahaha, Crap, that’s a word thingy about that little China guy. Well what do you know Lib you’re right…Look Lib, Hillary’s wearing some of that really rad Soviet gear…hat & t-shirt. That is just so…so…worker. She is sooo hottie. I have some of that myself. Wow, Crap, you do!? Ooooo! Hey, Lib there’s more of those China guys jumping off her float picking up money that Old McSoros is tossing. Man that float is just star studded. There’s Danny, Michael, Barb…Luv YOOO Barb!!Oh I see ‘um Crap…and look there’s Bill…Oh My Gawd!!! He’s waving at me! Craaaaap, He’s waving to me…He…he…wants…me to come down and ride on the float with him (Lib Blushes). Go on Libby babe! I’ve got it covered…let’s hear a word from our sponsor, The New Michael Moore Health Center where your health is never an issue.”
Why are they wasting our tax dollars to denounce this stuff on the Senate floor???? Anyone……
I can’t remember the last time in history this has been done has it???
It is ironic that Democrats who see the death and injury of our troops as a political opportunity would condemn ANYONE for failure to support the troops.
The left may not yet truly realize what they have done. Our base has been down and disorganized since the last election. All at once I’m sensing the wrath of conservatives everywhere! A Republican candidate would be wise to jump in and become the leader of the movement. Hillary, do not count your chicks before they hatch!
Perhaps Hoyer actually read Rush’s transcript? Actually, I may be giving him more credit than deserved. I’m not even sure this dolt can read.
Feinstein, just back from the Fulsome Gay Pride Parade, pretends she cares about the troops.
These monkeys in Congress are courting disaster with Limbaugh.
If they impinge on his financial enterprise with these shenanigans he might well be able to sue them into the stone age.
Here in San Francisco, the Board of Stupefiers have put some of their blood in the water for Michael Savage’s legal pit bulls to come after them.
They are not protected as much as they may think in all of this maneuvering against talk radio on behalf of the Clintons.
Steny is feelin the wind blowing back in their faces.
I’d like to see the “name recognition” data comparing how many Americans know who is Rush Limbaugh versus “Steny Hoyer”, “Nancy Pelosi”, “Harry Reid”, et al…..they are goring themselves in sensitive places with all this reactionary behavior.
If they can’t have the Fairness Doctrine back then they will go after then 1 by 1. O’Reilly, Rush, Savage etc………….
Who are the 20 Dems who crafted the condemn Rush resolution? I’d like to know if my Dem rep is one of them.
After General Petraeus gave his report, I formed the following theory:
Almost a quarter millennia ago, the American people realized that their government was not listening to them. The problem was the way government was being run.
The people sent representatives to the capital, hoping that at least a few of them were not bought and paid for by special interests. Those representatives would get together in a big room and fight each other over what laws they would pass and how they would govern the people. This was called Parliament.
Unfortunately, the distance between the colonies and the government involved an ocean voyage of many months, so communication was outdated before it was received. Eventually, the colonies told the government where they could go and decided to govern themselves. This was called The American Rebellion over there and The American Revolution over here. A rose by any other name.
After securing their independence, the American people designed their government according to what they knew.
The people sent representatives to the capital, hoping that at least a few of them were not bought and paid for by special interests. Those representatives would get together in a big room and fight each other over what laws they would pass and how they would govern the people. This was called Congress.
Almost a quarter millennia later, the American people realize that their government is not listening to them. The problem is the way government is being run.
The representatives of the people are removed from the people, so they have to take educated guesses as to what the people want from them. They hire political ideologists to conduct opinion polls which are designed according to the wishes of the people paying for them. Then they run the government according to those polls, pointing to the poll results that they designed, and telling the people what the people want, which is usually the opposite of what the people want.
In an attempt to attain and maintain power, the majority in Congress is deliberately wasting time, resources, and tax money to complain about and condemn anyone with viewpoints they don’t like. The purpose seems to be to force the American people to give them what they want (the Presidency) in order to see anything productive done. Productivity is also defined by slanted polls, with the same level of accuracy.
Meanwhile, the people of Iraq, tasting democracy for the first time, wanted to design their government to give the people a decent voice.
Considering the effectiveness of the British Parliament and the American Congress, perhaps they decided that communication between the people and their representatives is the key.
Instead of sequestering their representatives in a big room to fight each other, perhaps they thought it better to have those representatives stay in the provinces from which they came.
They can conduct business via modern technology (such as the phone) from amongst the people they represent. Then they can get together once in a while to sign documents and return to the people they represent.
The reports we heard from Iraq show the people conducting the business of government themselves from the “grassroots” while their Congress is not in session. The progress being made is unexpected at the least.
Perhaps this is how they run their government. It’s certainly effective as the Iraqi Congress has accomplished far more than the American Congress in the same time period.
Maybe that’s why certain members of the American Congress are trying so hard to sabotage the situation in Iraq.
Having seen how effective government can be when the people take matters into their own hands, perhaps they are afraid the American people will start to get ideas.
Things that make you go hmmm…
I hope these idiots get the Fairness Doctrine back on the table.
Give it a full airing with the public.
Show the public what the Fairness Doctrine means and what it entails as a policy.
Does it really mean that equal time must be given on each radio show? each television broadcast? Equal time given to opposing views?
How will that impact Katie Couric’s Willy Wonka news show? How will it impact CBS Good Morning or whatever the hell it is called? How will it impact the vacuous coverage by Jim Lehrer’s News Hour?
How will it impact “The Savage Nation” with lemming moon loons coming on there to give their “opposing view”?
Bring back the Fairness Doctrine. We’ll win that one too.
One thing is clear about This Vast Clinton Media Conspiracy- they are running out of tricks because their stunts are getting so INANE.
Reminds me of one of the turning points in the Second World War against Germany-
the German Wermacht (war machine) was still formidable in its killing power well into the 2nd year after Pearl Harbor.
But a farmer in England reported something he noticed about a Luftwaffe plane shot down which landed in his field. The propeller was made of wood.
The steel hard German war machine was running out of steel. Vulnerability based on a simple substitution of something weaker for something of enduring strength.
The Clinton’s are showing weakness- the stakes are so high, but they are running out of dirty tricks to cover their tracks with Soros and the lunatic fringe.
They cannot compare with Bush’s successes with the economy after 9/11, shutting down NKOR’s nuke program, or promoting stability in Iraq with the troop surge.
Hillary is running for a nomination against stuffed suits- yet she shows fear, as does Bill.
They have EVERYTHING to lose. And their desparation and “shortages” are beginning to show.
Limbaugh will undo her. He has been undoing her since the campaign to elect Bill for president.
Make no mistake: that is what this is about with Limbaugh, Savage, and O’Reilly. The wave against her is too high and it has been growing since the early 90s.
Yes, the Clintons still look formidable.
But their propeller is made of wood.
TimD- Hmmmm indeed. Nicely done. Nicely done. A keeper!
You think maybe there’s a reason that our senators and representatives are held in such low esteem?
Listening to Harry Reid on TV almost makes one wish Tom Daschle hadn’t lost his election. Where do they find these bowel move(on)ments?
Rush Limbaugh was correct – there are phony soldiers now and have been many in the past. They really came of the cracks after the Vietnam war — especially after the memorial was built. They’d parade around with their cutoff fatigue shirts; scraggly beards; bandannas and whatever Vietnam era paraphernalia they could find and pretend to be veterans from that war when in reality many were not.
Not sure where Harkin falls…
What we need to do is set up a Phony Senator watch – they pretend to support their constituents and they pretend to sponsor important bills but actually do nothing but play partisan politics and find ways to get richer on the taxpayer’s dime.
Thank you bear1909!
Glad Michelle opened registration as I’ve been holding onto a whole battery of this stuff for far too long.
Thanks, Michelle, you truly are the people’s representative.
Hmmm…
Anyone think we can get Michelle to run for office?
Augustine stands and gives a loud ovation to Bear1909 and TimDenchanter.
We have let the Lib’s frame this debate. Lets put it in perspective. The people that signed the letter to clear channel will NOT stand up for a 4 star general being slandered before a word comes out of his mouth…but they will support the likes of Jesse MacBeth, Scott Thomas Beauchamp? Oh yea…the liars and cheats support their cause.
iamsaved
Harkin claimed he was a fighter pilot in Nam among other things … he was in the military in that era but he did not ever serve in Nam … he flew repaired planes from bases in Japan back to other bases so that they could be redeployed to the combat theater
TimDenchanter bows with a flourish and promises plenty more where that came from in the months ahead.
Thanks again Michelle, for helping us exercise our freedom of speech.
BTW,
for any NRA members out there, here’s a good motto:
The founders wrote the second amendment to protect the first.
P.S.
Although I support the 2nd Amendment,
I don’t actually own a gun myself.
For home defense, I find that my compound bow is better for me.
It costs less, requires no license, needs no silencer, and
“… all you have to do is let go.” —Green Arrow
TimD, sad to say there are probably places in this country where your bow would be illegal. And the quiver if it held more than 5 arrows would be an “assault” quiver. And your inexpensive kid’s bow would be characterized as a “Saturday (K)night Special”
I don’t understand the controversy over “phony soldiers”.
The media has been rife with phony soldier reports. And phony accusations against soldiers. Politicians and grassroots advocates inflating their own military records. Kerry’s Winter Soldier Investigations and the Swift Boat controversy. Harkin’s fake Vietnam War claims. The New Republic’s series. Phony Iraqi soldiers and police officer reports.
MSM outlets rush unverified claims of anti-war soldiers, even “anonymous soldier” sources.
Didn’t Kos claim he was a Persian gulf war veteran, when in fact he served elsewhere during the war?
How can anyone seriously take issue with Rush’s choice of words to describe soldiers who lie and obfuscate in opposing the war?
It is astonishing that the MSM is buying into a revision of Rush’s comments such that he’s talking about “anyone who opposes the war”. No, he’s talking about phonies who happen to be soldiers.
Personally, I think Rush’s responses could be more effective, and trot out all these examples.
Why is no one talking about this resolution introduced in the House on Monday?
This past year has been an example of How to Lose your Power in Congress 101. Never have so many people gained so much, and done so little with it. America spoke in November of 06, and the peeps may just stay home in November of 08. We need a 3rd party.
That’s my congressman Steny, wish he’d make up his mind.

That’s what I’ve been wondering, where are all the lawyers?
An hour later, Bear 1909 acknowledges Augustine’s salute….
back atcha, Hombre!
11% is way to high for these clowns. What moron thinks there any good at all?
#56 TimDenchanter
Brilliant!!!
I saved that one in my MM folder.
#57 bear1909
Ditto!!!
Saved yours, too!
Both of you should seriously consider writing for publication (newspaper/magazine/online). As a former freelance writer, I have very good resources. Would you consider emailing me?
leepro,
Certainly!
What address?

I’m no fan of Tucker Carlson, nonetheless did you see Tucker Carlson on MSNBC dress down one of the Media Matters spokesman? Wow. He had that guy spit-ling and sputtering unable to speak.
If you missed it, you have to watch it. I can’t believe what I just watched. Go Tucker! If I try and describe any more I’ll do more harm than good. Find the video. It was awesome.
There is some good news about all this:
It keeps the congresscritters occupied and prevents them from doing ‘productive’ things like raising taxes, granting illegals amnesty, cutting Iraq funding and forcing socialized medicine on children.
Maybe they can keep this going for a while. We’ll be better off if they do.
Nah, they’ll slip it in quietly as an amendment to something else, probably some sort of education bill “for the children.” It will be done by a voice vote, so there will be no record how each representative voted–no accountability. Then the reps will be forced into voting for the whole bill because they don’t want to be portrayed as “anti-child education.” The media will then declare how wonderful the new “education” bill is and there will be much rejoicing.
This is the way of dirty politics.
And they also aren’t doing what they SHOULD be doing, like passing a budget for the fiscal year that started October 1st.
And, as far as them facing legal repercussions for what they say on the floor of the House or the Senate, I think they are protected by the Speech and Debate clause…
Bob: # 9: Not to mention the appalling statements by the NBC reporter (forget his name)who, among other things, called our troops “mercenaries”.
My granddaughter’s kindergarten class is more mature that the senate. This is getting stupid beyond belief.
Ummm, no actually their propeller is made of paper mache, and the paper they used is illegally obtained campaign funds. If anyone sinks Hillary’s chances of becoming president it will be
HillaryPeter Paul…This is just so much smoke and mirrors on Hoyer’s part.
I’m in my late 50’s and NEVER in my life have I seen the liberal democrats support the military. These same people who pretend to “support the troops” were the ones marching carrying pictures of Che and the North Vietnamese flags in the riots of the 60’s. Now they want to support the troops.
Fooey on all of ‘em.
What a waste of time. Are there any lawyers on here? My question is does Rush have a case for slander/libel here? See, he did say something about someone, but turns out it was true. Or maybe the democrats are now above the law.
