Ward Churchill rides again

Via Slapstick Politics, we have word that the looniest professor is back on campus for an unsanctioned class at the University of Colorado:
Former University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill on Tuesday began what he told students would become a series of classes held at the school despite being fired from his position in July.
Churchill elicited applause and handshakes from the majority of the 30 or so CU students and area residents who came to hear his lecture, which he titled “ReVisioning American History: Colonization, Genocide and Formation of the U.S. Settler State.”
Churchill, who did not allow the Camera to attend the class, said the group would come up with various topics to discuss.
“I’ve been invited by people who are concerned with content of the mind,” Churchill said.
Thuggish as ever, Churchill’s goons engaged in some trademark roughhousing:
Two men who identified themselves as event organizers turned away three male CU students at the door, calling them “agitators.”
One of the men watching the door, who did not give his name, became physical with a Camera reporter who tried to enter the room — grabbing his arm and pushing him — prompting a report to police.

Would someone please explain to me how he can be fired and still use the facility to indoctr…..uh excuse me, “teach” some useful Idio…….excuse me again, uh “students”???
Not only that. Who invited him. That guy is scary.
Ward is trying to get arrested. He needs controversy to fuel his rage against the machine.

Who authorized it?
According to the report, Aaron Smith, one of the organizers, said “We were deprived of his teaching.” You don’t lose anything by not having this guy; you lose by buying in to his falsehoods.
Sounds like he’s committed an act of criminal trespass. CU needs to have him arrested and enjoined from entering their property.
Any student group at CU may invite speakers to meetings held in a campus classroom.
Unaffiliated student groups which take no operational funds from the school are more unregulated. Affiliated student groups that do take student fees have more restrictions, but can still hold a private meeting and exclude whoever they wish.
Not sure what the policy is at other schools, but at CU as long as the classroom is not in use it may be booked in advance for events like this.
Churchill was fired, but not barred from campus as a guest speaker.

I live in Boulder. Ward is just one stellar example of what liberalism run-amok has wrought. CU has brought in back in non-accredited capacity, but is still desirous of cashing in on his notoriety…er, infamy.

He’s a coward. Let him run his mouth like he does to some of America’s finest warriors! College is the refuge of the weak willed and spineless. Easy to hide behind hateful words than take action. Academia is full of moral and physical cowards. Let them get jobs and actually contribute to humanity.
I’d rather my kids go into the military than college today. There are fewer and fewer colleges worth sending my precious children to be indoctrinated.
The oldest is at Abilene Christian University in Abilene Tx. My youngest says he wants to go into the military.

During the 30’s, if people has resisted the Nazis instead of letting them beat up neighbors who knows what might have been. Churchill is certainly the type to preach treason and revolution to the unattuned. Allowing him on campus seems a bit much after he embarassed the Colorado university system.

I was a police officer in Boulder County, not in the City of Boulder, but in a city very close to Boulder, for a little over 8 years of my 20 in law enforcement. Consequently I occasionally testified in the Courtrooms of Boulder County, within that marvelous City.
You just have to spend some time in the People’s Republic of Boulder to understand the unbelievable political climate in that locale. It’s a world very much unto itself, sort of like the Bay area during the 1960s in California.
It’s a very affluent city. It leans very, very far to the political left. And my prediction is that it’s never going to list to the right – ever.
My bet is that Ward Churchill will find a venue for his anti-American pitch, if not at the University, then somewhere else in the local area. He’s going to have us all tied up in Court for the next three years or so with his wrongful termination lawsuit, so everybody might as well get comfortable with seeing his mug on the TV.
Understand, this is Boulder. Churchill is a Boulder kinda guy. Don’t expect him to go away. He won’t. And, he’s got a really good lawyer. Although CU had a very good case to fire him, don’t completely count him out from prevailing in the end and either getting his job back or some kind of settlement.

The only thing worse than working in the same city as this blight on rational discourse is the fact that 3 credits of my degree were at the hands of one of his disciples at a different institute of higher education who spread his debunked dogma of small-pox infested blankets distributed by the U.S Army to wipe out the Mandan Indians. If you didn’t agree with that basic tenet, don’t expect to pass the course.

I heard the same thing in my Soc 3422 class on Race and Ethnic Minorities. The “prof” made the simuliar claim, and of course bashed everything Christian, conservative, and the military to no end.
The funny thing is that I was constantly prepared for both her lectures and attempted indoctrination, and would ask the straight forward questions that would make any communist squirm.
It must have worked, because my classmates would ask me for my source information frequently and this would lead to other topics that this young generation hasn’t heard about.
30 minuets in the morning reading MM, the various writers in Townhall.com, and The Commercial Appeal I am ready to face my day in school.

Please don’t put this picture out for Halloween. The little kiddies are used to vampires, and ghosts and goblins, but this picture will cause them to soil their costumes or go screaming into the night.

Radio relay sounds like he/she knows where Ward will probably be this weekend when “human rights activists” may, as they often do, try to impede, block or, if possible stop completely Denver’s Columbus Day Parade, exercising their right to protest while attempting to deny other US citizens their right to assemble and hold a parade. They might even verbally assault participants, including retirees and children by calling them ‘racists’ and ‘hatemongers,’ as has been reported in the past. (Columbus was a racist, genocidal xenophobic, imperialist who brought the “white man” to commit mass extermination against American indigenous people, don’t you know?) Ward and/or his AIM or other cronies may even try to get arrested again this year, as such groups have been in the past. Always a barrel of laughs around here on Columbus Day!
The President of CU is a really good guy, former US Senator from Colorado who did great work after retirement from the Senate at another CO university. Now at CU, he may be in over his head at a liberal bastion where a LOT of profs signed a petition supporting Ward Churchill, where his ideas are probably considered more mainstream than outrageou, in a town known all around the state as The People’s Republic of Boulder. On a brighter note, most kids who go there get a relatively decent education and come out mostly unscathed and unindoctriated, suprizingly given the bent of the place…which must really pliss off guys like Wardo.
