Boxer amendment would block immigration enforcement in order to count illegal aliens for 2010 Census, boost Democrat seats
Well, lookee what California Sen. Barbara Boxer is up to now (click for full-size):
The rub:

Boxer’s amendment, SA 3246, is attached to the current spending bill up on the Senate floor. So, why is Boxer so interested in blocking aggressive immigration enforcement leading up to the 2010 Census?
U.S. states with large numbers of undocumented immigrants could receive additional seats in Congress after the 2010 census is conducted.
A University of Connecticut study concluded Arizona, Texas and Florida could all see their House delegations increase due to rising populations that include sizable numbers of illegal immigrants.
Although they can’t vote, such aliens are included in the census. The San Jose (Calif.) Mercury News predicted Tuesday the pending 2010 headcount could be the subject of a political fight as Democrats and Republicans jockey for position before House seats are reallocated.
The Connecticut study also predicted California and New Jersey would likely keep their current number of seats while states with fewer immigrants, including New York, Illinois and Ohio, will lose a seat or two.

Unbelievable. However, I like the fact that the Dumbocrats are unmasking themselves in full view of the public. I can’t imagine that even the liberals in California would think that this is a good idea after what’s happened to Los Angeles.
This is another good talking point issue for the election.
I just wrote them and told them where to stand!
Full view of the public? Been eating too many smoked turkey legs?
Bro, the public will not be made aware of this unless the bloggers (thanks Michelle) blog it. Then, the people who really care about what is going on will have to imform themselves.
The MSM will not come within a thousand feet of this one. Besides, Brittney is fighting for her children and Dave made Paris cry.
Living in California (AKA Mexico del Norte) I already know where my senators stand.
Seriously doubt this will make it into the MSM’s lineup for the evening news. The uneducated and uninvolved
publicsheep will never grasp that this is even going on.MM I am from Kalifornia K being code word for communist…
The liberal voting
women in this state have the electorate
totally screwed up… WASS..WE ARE SO SCREWED….PARDON THE PUN
Let’s wait and see how the election rhetoric shakes out. The Republican candidates will ensure that the public gets an education on where the Dumbocrats stand on the issues. The MSM isn’t the only information source anymore. Their ratings are plummenting. The people will know.
Next thing you know, legislators with prisons in their districts will want to count prisoners who can’t vote in their tally. Wait, they are already doing this.
I don’t see what the big deal is… you all assume that ICE would be engaging in some “aggressive” enforcement of federal immigration laws to begin with.
The two party system in America is splitting into international socialists (liberal progressive Democrats aka communists) and laissez faire social capitalists (Tax and spend Republicans. I know – a contradiction in terms). Unfortunately, the folks who really want a democratic constitutional republic are increasingly in the minority.
Boxer, Clinton, Obama just want to push their international socialist/communist “it takes a village” agenda a bit quicker but regardless the trends are toward a socialistic republic over the next few decades. America will be Europeanized. Don’t get too upset when the unemployment rates are double digit and there is little discretionary income to buy a better house or better car. Oh, let’s not forget, you won’t really be able to start a business to better yourself as it will be just too darned expensive and there will be a blizzard of regulations.

I am totally on your side but, for the sake of debate, you assume our Republicans have grown balls by now?

The problem is that most illegals will not respond to the census takers questions because they fear they will be turned in and deported … as a result the census takers “estimate” the number of people in those residences as if they had gotten real answers …
Personally I see no reason to give a hoot how many illegals are not properly counted …
The reason for the census being accurate is so that it can be used as a basis to allow for realignment of the number of representatives in the house for legal citizen voters …
Since the illegals aren’t supposed to be able to vote they should have no bearing on the numbers used to reapportion the seats in Congress …
no right to vote = no right to representation …
Don’t let these libs reward the sanctuary cities and states for breaking the law by giving them more votes in the Congress …
So let me get this straight, even though they aren’t citizens and can’t vote, the number of illegal immigrants in a state will effect the reapportionment of its congressional delegation? Isn’t that then giving them a benefit of citizenship? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?
J S Ragman
That’s correct … the reapportionment is based on total numbers counted … not a breakdown of legal – illegal of any other category of the census …
I think I just had about 50 of my wife’s relatives from the Philippines move in with me.
J S Ragman
Make sure they get counted …
I’m writing her anyway. I know it won’t make a dent, but I have to feel I did something. This is difficult and demoralizing knowing your president and 2 senators really don’t give a damn. What is going to become of our Nation? Will we ever get to turn it around without a revolution?
Sadly, my senator is the issue here!
Sadly, Boxer is one of my Senators – with the other being equally saddening. Maybe we make Boxer a deal, stop deporting illegals, start deporting Democratic Senators.
When the corrupt government stop making us pay taxes, then they can let them ALL in for all I care.
Better yet, give us free boat passes outta here ASAP!
call her office every hour…..202-224-3553 her fax is 202-224-8149,,,,,,,give her every statistic on $$$, crime, etc.
So, where exactly is the incentive to enforce immigration laws if by NOT enforcing them, states have more people – hence they have more representatives in Congress?
Self-perpetuating dilemna….
I also see that they HAVE stopped enforcing agressively in several previous census taking years…. Nice to know…
At a time when we’re stepping up our enforcement – we should now ‘draw down’ so we can accurately count the numbers of illegals here…
Here’s a solution – assign the task of census taking to ICE – kill 2 birds with one stone.
I don’t like to hate but I despise my two traitorous Senators Boxer and Feinstein and I am moderate! CALIFORNIA WAKE UP!!! What is wrong with you? Stop thinking in terms of “left” and “Right” and see that our Democratic Senators are TRAITORS! I am seriously thinking of leaving the state for a state that has COMMON SENSE!
Illegal Aliens are the new dead vote. Spitzer wants NY driver’s licenses for them since it’s a de facto identity card. The Dems want same day voter registration to prevent any kind checking on the validity of the registration. They want free health care and in-state tuition for illegals to make them beholden to the Democratic party.
JS Ragman
Who says illegals can’t vote? I’m guessing you don’t live in California.
Wow, if we had some beltway Republicans with brains and cajones, this proposal would be an absolute gift from Boxer and the Democrats.
No no no no no!!!!! The only way we can stop this madness is to make sure that these bills don’t go forward and that the Dems lose all around in 2008. Fiscal conservatism to oust these monkeys. I would think that you would have to determine status one way or the other as you do your counting. If so, then ICE should be right behind each ‘counter’ in the process. Arrest, deport.
MrScribbler – Good point. At least here in Virginia, the voting machines only speak English. I’m assuming that’s some type of civil rights violation?
I’ll keep you posted on the response I get from the 2 distinguished gentlemen from this commonwealth.
Only thing there is to say about Boxer:She isn’t bad looking ,for an old—–.
Welcome to my Boxer/Feinstein two-headed monster Californication World.
Hey, Don’t clump all Republicans into that ball-less group you are mentioning.
Better be politically correct here and say “Testy Free”
aj … don’t you mean 3-headed … you forgot Nan …
Or Republinonads.
Yes DL, I keep forgeting.
lol … but you keep trying aj …
Sorry, I meant “gumballs”.
Gum balls? You naughty girl!
It was Michelle’s term was it not? – LOL
I got your gum balls right here!

Update on “Faux News Alert” …
The stolen jewels were already returned anonymously when it was discovered they were “Faux Jewels”
*Raises his right hand
The floor recognizes Raging
If you are looking for family jewels, might want to ask Pelosi to drop
herhis pants.I am sorry but Boxer gets my vote for the biggest after this debacle.
Ok this is just flat out crazy! Almost all of my friends are conservative (ie we all work and are productive members of society), but even the few liberals I know are opposed to illegal immigration!
Demoralizing I think being the functional word there.
Dick Durbin would be far more pro-illegal than Boxer and refer to non-citizens as new Americans, as is our wont here in Mexinois. Barry Obama would also be more pro-illegal than Boxer.
What does she mean when she says “aggresive enforcement” and “non citizen”?
Gum balls anyone?
I think that means “don’t even think about arresting my maid and gardener”
Maybe we make Boxer a deal, stop deporting illegals, start deporting Democratic Senators.
Please- who on earth would even >want
This has got to be the craziest idea I have ever seen, but I’m not surprised at anything this women does. I wonder how many “intellgent” senators will vote yes for this resolution? I’ld like to exchange Bush for the Border Agents who are in prison.
OOPS…wrong thread….sorry
Better yet how about we swap 3 for 2 … Boxer, Feinstein, and Nan for the 2 border patrol agents … I realize the 3 aren’t worth near as much as the 2 … but maybe we could sweeten the pot and throw in Reid and Murtha for good measure …
Yep. “It’s not a baby until you bring it home from the hospital” Boxer.
Yet people from CA keep her in office. Scary and I know scary!
DesertLover
That ought to be a three-for-three swap. Jose Compean , Ignacio Ramos and Deputy Sheriff Gil Hernandez for Barbara Boxcar, Dianne Feincrook and Nancy Lugosi.
Nope. Make it 3-for-4: three good guys for the Wack-babes and Jorge Bush, too.
MrScribbler
Sorry … I missed the Deputy Sheriff … my bad …
Just Imagine what crap I have to live with in Sonoma County where the entire county is a Sanctuary for Illegal’s. Where you’re the bigot for even taking issue about Illegal’s. Where the Gang problem Grows because ICE won’t be called. HELP

The dreaded Pelosi/Boxer/Feinstein Three headed Monster sited flying near Los Angeles.
BATSx3
Boxer and Feinstein are a joke. I’m from California and stuff like this ticks me off. My wish (in my dreams) is that the California electorate wake up and start voting these people out of office. Oh wait… I think I have a better chance of winning the lottery. Better start playing.
BATSx3,
Don’t forget about the Nunez/Cedillo monster that was sited over the same area.
I know it’s hard for Senador Craig to concentrate, suffering from restless leg syndrome as he is, but what is his stance on Republican cajones?
We need to annex the US from Mexico.
“Count every vote. Every vote counts!” Democratic attempts at improving their odds at the polls. Dead voters, felons, dual staters, now illegal aliens… Nothing new to see here, move along now.
Contacted Senator Crapo the other guy shouldn’t even be in office. He promised to resign and it looks like Idaho has only one Senator. Besides Mr. Happy Feet always votes for the illegal invader anyway.
This is getting to be like watching a little kid. Turn your back for a minute and they’re into something. I’m tired..
BUT, I’M NOT GIVING UP. On the phone again…
40 million people and the CA state GOP can’t find a single viable candidate to run Boxhead out of office.
*Sigh.*
I’m in New Jersey…
We may be smaller than California in size, but we’re in the running for the prize of most moronic state. Writing to L(sr) & M(jr) is futile.
Put me in charge, and watch liberal scum start crying for their mommie!
The answer for California: Arnold for the Senate.
Not that he would be significanly better, but he does have some cajones and he’s not as much of a crackpot as the two ladies. When is his 2nd Term as Governor over?
This is a great issue for one of the Republican presidential candidates to jump on, like yesterday. RUDY ARE YOU LISTENING?!?!
This got decided once already, in 1787. Non-citizens were counted as 3/5 of a citizen.
I’ll give them that if they don’t stop deporting crooks in the meantime.
Selling out our country for votes. Absolutely disgusting, immoral, dishonest and irresponsible. Not to mention, selfish, self-serving and recklessly playing with our nation’s future.
Terible to contemplate and I don’t wish for it, but a cataclysmic terrorist attack would almost certainly achieve a national cranial-anal extraction. Sadly, this likely will happen only after the dhimis have D.C. locked up.
I’m sorry but is this nothing more than legitimizing the bent wrist enforcement by the Bush Administration and Mr. Lettuce head. The other thing, using a transient criminal segment of the population as a basis for congressional allocations does not pass the smell test. Especially now that the estimate of illegals is not 12 million as postulated by “our” government but may in fact be more like 38 million. Damm, and the Grey Hound bus I designed was to deport 20 million. Oh well, just need a bigger bus.
on-my-soap-box #43 ROTFLMAO
ShoreMark, I am here in NJ as well. At least you can get a response from L. M, not so much.
Albeit a useless attempt.
There is not enough duct tape in the world to keep my head from exploding.
Pancho Villa is laughing his a** off in his grave while Blackjack Pershing spins.
This is a portion of an e-mail I received twice from Boxer in response to the Dream Act. Smoke up Rump
Imagine them suspending “aggressive” tax collection enforcement! I can hardly wait.
“You say you want a revolution?” – John Lennon
Tuesday Greetings Mrs. Malkin and loyal community. Thank you Mrs. Malkin for your eagle-eyed attention to the nefarious initiatives of our junior Senator from California. Always if I would point out the ill-doings of senators from other states, I must be mindful of the plank in California’s own eye. As I have noted before with the machinations of Sen. Dick Durbin, the term “gerrymander” entered the American political lexicon almost 200 years ago through the tortured political districting done then in Massachusetts. Even then career politicians wanted to select their voters by whatever means possible, rather than themselves be subject to the unfettered purview of the electorate. If one is mindful that multiterm Senators Barbara Boxer and Dick Durbin and like-minded colleagues are loyal to themselves and their political connections, and not at all to our country, then their intent to build their optimum voter base through wholesale importation from abroad can be understood. Much appreciate the persistent efforts of Mrs. Malkin and various members of her loyal community in calling public attention to these maneuvers in the shade.
We are told the illegals come up here to take/do jobs that we Americans won’t do. We are also told that the crops will go rotting in the fields unless we open the borders. Drive past a Home Depot and you can hire an illegal for $100/day plus transportation and lunch. The crop picking job is now the job that the Americans AND the illegals will not do.
Article I, Section 2 of the US Constitution outlines the Census, and it does not (sadly) limit its application to citizens:
So, interesting to note that non-citizens should count as no more than 3/5 … so every 5 million illegals would count as only 3 million = still substantial. Now, last time around, there was all sorts of talk about “extrapolating” the numbers of those who weren’t really counted (homeless, those out of the country, etc), so how much do we bet that process would get expanded? Also, wouldn’t this simply give the INS a nice list of unregistered aliens, with names and addresses? Seems like this is just bad on every possible level. That being the case, most illegals wouldn’t want to be counted and the liberals would holler even louder to be allowed to “extrapolate” their state’s numbers, based of course simply on their own greed for power.

Mngirl… Arnold is rhino and almost as bad as Boxer and Feinstein. We need someone like the California State Senator Tom McClintock. He’s California’s only true conservative.
as I’ve been saying, the dems can’t get into office w/o their most adored and loyal base of voters: the dead illegal alien convicts
How about we stop providing social services to illegals until we’ve counted them all. . . .
