Look who’s “stalking” Nancy Pelosi; Update: A besieged neighbor of Pelosi’s speaks

By Michelle Malkin  •  October 10, 2007 10:13 AM

Update 4:30pm Eastern. A besieged neighbor of Nancy Pelosi’s tells you the rest of the story.

***
Funny. I haven’t seen left-wing blogs in a snit over the anti-war loons’ invasion of Nancy Pelosi’s neighborhood. They did more than just pass by her home. They’re squatting across her residence, aggravating the neighbors, and hanging their clothes in her trees. Oh, and building a large Buddha on the sidewalk (via Roll Call - hat tip to Weasel Zippers):

“I’ve had four or five months of people sitting outside my home, going into my garden in San Francisco and angering my neighbors,” Pelosi said at a gathering sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor.

Pelosi added that the squatters have engaged in decidedly non-neighborly behavior like hanging their clothes from the trees; moving in sofas, chairs and other “permanent living facilities”; and, oddly, building a large Buddha on the sidewalk in front of her home. “You can just imagine my neighbors’ reactions to all of this,” she said. “And if they were poor, and they were sleeping on my sidewalk, they’d be arrested for loitering, but because they have ‘impeach Bush’ across their chest, it’s the First Amendment.”

I spy with my little eye a word that begins with U.

I think groups like CAIR, ACLU, Judges, celebrities, advertisers, company executives, etc. could be pressured to LISTEN to people affected by their endorsement, advocacy, positions, on controversial issues facing our society. Henry Waxman, are you listening? Miller Beer? Oakland Airport? Michael Chertoff? Sean Penn? Sally Fields?

Well, Michelle, the answer’s pretty obvious - you’re conservative. Therefore, you can do no right.

Liberals, on the other hand, can squat (probably illegally) on property, obstruct a person’s residence, disturb the peace, and litter (the clothes in trees) and get away with it.

They believe they have absolute moral authority, and can make (or break) laws to suit their whims.

Imagine how fun life will be if Hillary wins in 2008! We’ll all be jailed for thought/hate crimes before the decade is out, and Christianity will be illegal except for state-approved (read: liberal, godless) churches.

    Stark Rove-ing Mad
Meet the “pro-immigrant” thugs at National People’s Action.

    Wednesday, March 31, 2004 12:01 a.m. EST

For a moment this Sunday, the yard outside White House senior adviser Karl Rove’s home looked like a scene from “On the Waterfront.”

The trespassers are self-described “grassroots leaders” from something calling itself National People’s Action. In their press release, they claim to be protesting the Bush Administration’s immigration policy. Specifically, they cite President Bush’s failure to support legislation that would give illegal aliens who had lived in the U.S. for five years and paid taxes for three the right to in-state tuition at state universities.

No doubt the inclusion of Mr. Rove’s home address in the release announcing their planned visit explains the TV cameras on hand and ready to roll. Then again, some protesters are apparently more equal than others. If Mr. Rove had been an abortion doctor, we’d probably be hearing calls for restraining orders and the enforcement of racketeering laws against those demonstrating.

There are many more examples of publicizing the private residence of some figure with opposing views, it seems in hope that somebody else will do something illegal to them. Nobody in the political arena, public figure or private citizen should have to worry about their children’s safety because of positions they advocate.

I thought we lived in a civilized, free country. Intimidation into silence is what the aim is here.

I keep being reminded of some of my favorite gangster flicks, The Godfather, Goodfellas or The Sopranos.

A scene from The Untouchables come to mind, when the nefarious Capone hitman Frank Nitty is spotted across the street from Ness’s home. Nitty says something like this:

That’s a real nice home, real nice family you got there. Be a shame if somthin were to happen to it.

That is where our politics are headed, if they keep getting away with things like this, they only get more cocky, more emboldened.

Yes, even the detestable Nancy Pelosi (D-DPRC) has rights that must be defended, if we are to preserve our own rights.

That’s usually how it is. Lefties tolerate the most deplorable behavior until it starts to really affect them. Then, that behavior crosses a once invisible, otherwise non-existent line between “acceptable” and “wrong.”

That being said, it’s frightening what these people will do in the name of “peace”. I find the “peace” protestors to be some of the most aggressive, violent, and disturbed individuals…probably all that displace angst they feel because they 1) never seem to understand that, sometimes, war is a sad necessity and 2) appeasement NEVER works against murderous terrorist thugs.

The freedom of speech is important, but their behavior really is pushing the envelope of what can be considered peaceable assembly. Why don’t they just petition her to step down, since she broke her promise to them? After all wouldn’t you expect it from the leader of the most ethical Congress in history!

I find this an interesting example of political group think in action, what might be termed the rule of the most extreme. Unless Pelosi and the Democrats can break free from the currently most extreme leftists — no chance of that — they will be dragged down to their level.

But it doesn’t stop there. The Pinkos and their allies will in turn be replaced by increasingly violent and destructive groups, the Democrats finding it impossible to control them and increasingly desperate to placate them. Finally, at some point, not too many years hence, the Democratic Party will become an engine of destruction, in all essentials equivalent to the Communists or the National Aocialists.

At that point, America will face its “1917″ moment (2017? — likely sooner), with the country in chaos and the necessity of dictatorship in some form the only thing people can agree on.

Those Code Pinkos are just trying to make Pelosi seem less ridiculous. I don’t think it is going to work. She is bought and paid for by George soros. He owns her and the rest of the democrats.

Good point, JoeS. I think it’s a deliberate attempt to portray Pelosi as more mainstream than the Kooks. Pelosi herself probably invited them to camp there.

As a demonstration of duplicity in action and schizophrenia in thought, the Pinkos are an excellent exemplary of the committed Far Lefters.

Demonstrating through their actions that projection is the sincerest form of flattery, the behavior they exhibit in front of Speaker Pelosi’s house (and in front of Berkeley’s Marine recruiters building) exposes the muddled and contradictory thought process that reveals their philosophy as one of anarchy.

I see no contribution to any positive solutions here. Rather I see fear and cowardice, hysteria and shrill keening of demands that must be as pointless and vacuous to them as they seem to me.

What’s the point then? Are these the children now grown old who were the one’s to demand attention from parents, teachers and others, attention that, good or bad, no matter how brief, satisfied some emptiness of soul, filled the need to be recognized? I suspect their endless self-absorption is but a symptom of their crying need for some self validation.

As beenthere just wrote, the devolution of this mentality, with its infantile and irrational demands for a Daddy or Mommy to DO SOMETHING FOR ME! Could well lead to a fascist style of government. Vain and pompous, these Pinkos would trade their rights and individualities for the promise of some reassurance that they do, in fact, matter.

“Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don’t mean to do harm– but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.”

On the one hand, I’m really cracking up about this. I think it’s dead wrong for any group to target a politician at such extremes, but it IS Pelosi and makes me laugh.

On the other hand, regardless of what I think of her politics, she is still the Speaker of the House. IMHO, that she would allow this to continue for so long, makes a mockery of the office. She could have them removed any time she chooses to do so.

While I don’t agree with the invasion of a person’s property and life by bunch of left-wing nuts or any other group for that matter, I can’t help but see some irony that some of Pelosi’s own base is treating her like they do others.

Will she condemn this type of treatment of others in the future, once Code Pink’s ire for her has diminished and they move on to the next victim?
