I watched the beginning of that GW episode thinking this was going to be another chance for Hollywood to bash the troops. The beginning premise is that he returns home with no memory of events, and is haunted by his men for what evidence indicates was an act of cowardice. By the end I was proud and deeply moved, as they truly did justice to our military.

Ghost Whisperer deserves all the kudos it gets for this.

Jennifer Love Hewitt may not have written the episode, but I do have to put in a word here that she has always struck me as a level-headed, sensitive soul. A friend once had a role as an extra on her PO5 spinoff "Time of Your Life" and said she was one of the most down to earth actresses he'd ever met. I bet the troops wouldn't mind if she tagged along with Gary Sinise on one of his trips someday.

Living in La La Land for many moons, I was really surprised that the episode treated our soldiers with such respect. I have to guess that there must be some veterans involved in writing and/or producing it.

An aside - if you take the Universal Studios Tour, you will see the "town square" of that show, and might take a ride down Wisteria Lane.

We watched this and we were happily surprised at how this turned out. It's good to see Starbucks step up to the plate again. A few years ago they did donate some coffee but I guess it depends on the location.

It sure wouldn't hurt to send letters thanking the people. We complain and write letters to/about the Fiberals so we should acknowledge when someone does something right. That way they know we are watching.

Doing the right thing used to be normal, but, since it no longer is let's hope for more.

NEVER FORGET

I don't watch the show, but was channel-surfing and paused when I saw soldiers. At first, I thought it was going to be just another PTSD soldier goes nuts storyline, but it wasn't. It was a very positive, and heart-rending story. Kudos to the writers. I'd say it was emmy-worthy, but that would not do it justice. It was so much better than that.

Finally something being done not to dishonor the troops, I am impressed. If only Hollyweird can keep it up, but I doubt it. I am very pleasantly surprised at Starbucks for their contribution for the troops in harms way. I always thought most Starbucks were staffed by Liberal arts majors that couldn’t get a real job after spending 8-12 years in college. My hat is off to the good folks of Memphis and Starbucks.

I can atest to the Starbucks. I only recently returned from a deployment. Now, it was in a fairly safe area, not the trenches of the war...but I did some volunteer work at the Chapel while I was there. One place the Chapel ran was a small coffee place for people to relax and get R and R. I stocked the place with donated coffee, candy, magazines, toiletries, etc. We saw lots of Starbucks coffee donated and coming straight from their company.
