Do you like this cartoon?

By Michelle Malkin  •  October 15, 2007 03:53 PM

Mike Luckovich wants to know if you like his latest editorial cartoon, lambasting Rush Limbaugh, me, and other GOP critics of the Democrats’ child-sized human shield defense. Feel free to vote.

    Big whoop is right.

When you’re under that many liberal fingernails at the same time, you’re doing something right - MM.

Speaking of which, did you see this latest smear campaign from Nancy Pelosi?

My source (the link) calls it “shameless demagoguery”, and writes

Forget the bogus issue of free health insurance for the kids of middle class families for a moment.

This is the way tyrants are born.

This is how Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez and indeed every demagogue in history has seized power — by riding the back of the ignorant masses. By appealing to the ignorance and greed.

This is how republics always die.

    Too right.

Keep fighting the good fight, Michelle and all you other conservatives. Our battles are nowhere near done, and the war against liberal idiocy, ignorance, and tyranny is going to be a long one.

As far as Luckovich cartoons go this one is mild. He is from the same school as Ted Rall. The AJC (Atlanta Journal-Constitution) for which he works is the NYT of the south. There print version is basically an advertisement section with stories repeated from the AP. Most of their columinists are liberal. For those that go to the AJC home page over on the right hand side you will see a link to section called The Vent. These are comments sent in by people, and by reading them you get a good feel for their target audience.
In other words they ain’t much different from any other news rag. Also notice all the coverage they give to the Hip-Hop community. ATL is the center of the Hip Hop world, or so it seems.

An example of what passes for “comment” over at the ICN link given by Laree above:

“Michelle Perez Maglalang, who changed her name to Malkin in order to sound more American, recently declined a challenge to debate the SCHIP details with progressive blogger Ezra Klein. Maglalang does best when she talks to another right-wing commentator, or writes stories without a comment-enabled forum.”

This, from the supposedly “compassionate” left wing.

    Wow.

So, this clown thinks it’s pertinent and significant that/if Michelle changed her name, to Horrors!-sound more American?

If that is the case, I guess Michelle joins the rest of us saps whose grandparents, parents, or (ourselves) changed or shortened our names for that very reason.
Stupid Italians, Poles, Greeks, Jews, Germans, Spaniards/Hispanics (yes, some-James Roday, Rita Hayworth come to mind), Lebanese (and anyone I left out)! What were they thinking?!

(My own family name had more than twice as many syllables in its original form as it has in English. Although I am conversationally fluent speaking and reading/writing the original language, the fact that my grandfather shortened the family name some 75 years ago is just fine with me.)

Back to the point, sort of:

My wife and I, perhaps like many others, think that “The Factor” was better when Michelle or Laura Ingraham hosted it.
Perhaps some jealousy over at FNC?
To be clear, despite whatever limitations it may have, FNC is still the best pick for news on television-by far, IMHO.

Michelle, all I can say is God Bless America.

OK, I guess I am just not that informed, because I just didn’t get the political comment the guy was making. Considering the smear campaigns the Left has been committing for about a month now on Limbaugh and others in the Conservative column, for them to make comments in a cartoon and then in the comments section about the Right’s smear campaigns is just laughable.

I made the mistake of spending about 15 minutes of my life reading those comments. I gotta tell you, my head is hurting and swimming trying to figure out just exactly what these people were trying to say, other than “Conservatives are evil incarnate”.

Then there is the one guy who calls himself “In The News” who keeps putting up inane news “headlines” from a Progressive web site (you know, because he wants to only present non-biased news reports I guess) and the funniest one was where he claimed that Michelle had written a letter to Fox News telling them that she refuses to ever appear on “The Factor” ever again.

So exactly what point do these people make/have? What opinion do they have that isn’t spoon fed to them from some Liberal Hate Site on the web? They obviously have never thought for themselves their entire life, and are unable to form a cogent thought on their own. The amount of Liberal soundbites that were on that comment board was astounding, and it was only the ones of pure hatred that outnumbered them.

So I guess someone needs to explain to the class how it is they get the title of peace loving, all-inclusive, non-judgemental, non-labeling, anti-racist group? It seems that those things are all that they are able to do.

It would be instructive to know what the ratings were for the nights she hosted. I don’t watch the factor anymore since I knew she wasn’t on there anymore. It was obvious she was gone before this came out in this email. Michelle needs our prayers as she is obviously a target of some very hateful leftwingers who are threatened by her. God bless you MM & your family.

I have to agree the Left is dishonest, morally bankrupt, and can’t produce a single idea above robbing the hardworking taxpayer to cure the country’s social problems. If this cartoon is the best comeback they have they are definitely out of ideas and the only ammo they have is how hateful we on the Right are for not wanting to subsidize those who refuse to get off their butts and work or those that make poor life choices. They just can’t rise up and face an honest debate and allow the facts to carry an issue.

    Here’s a question.

Has ANYONE had their mind changed by the George Soros-funded, David Brock run MediaMatters, MoveOn.org, DNC smear campaign?

I haven’t seen one poll, or one analysis that details how this bullsh*t is changing even one mind.

Limbaugh’s advertisers aren’t pulling out. Clear Channel isn’t dumping him or pressuring him. Not a SINGLE station has cancelled his show, except one station, for one day. Limbaugh’s show is still on the air. He is neither repentant nor cowed.

Michelle’s column is still running, as is her blog. And clearly, she isn’t cowed either. You haven’t said if your advertising for either blog has been effected, but I can’t see that it was.

You’re still on Fox, just not on O’Reilly. And we know why.

But, clearly, YOU are not cowed by these racketeering thugs either.

So WHAT DO THESE TURDS THINK THEY ARE ACCOMPLISHING? Only Democrats want you and Limbaugh silenced. Everybody else, even the “amnesty Rinos” are opposing or ignoring the Hush-Rush/Muzzle Michelle campaign.

Regardless of all this, if the Democrats can get away with it, we know damn well that they WILL try to force the so-called “Fairness Doctrine” into law. No matter what happens with this.

Maybe it’s time to legally and financially “kneecap” these people. Go after their advertisers. Wouldn’t it be great to pull the plug on MSNBC and put the video of Olby being frogmarched off the premises by security? Or to see Chrissy Matthews passed out, unconcious-drunk, in the bathroom of a sleazy bar because they cancelled his stupid show?

Wouldn’t it be great to see a padlock and IRS seal on the doors to David Brock’s offices at MediaMatters?

It would even make my day to read that George Soros skipped to Venezuela to avoid arrest for his various illegal activities, including treason and racketeering.

As the left has no point to achieve with this, how about we, on the right, make it our point to use this to DESTROY MediaMatters and MSNBC?

As far as I’m concerned it’s a racist cartoon.
Luckovich is despicable. My hometown paper, Free Lance-Star (http://fredericksburg.com/) tries to be a “middle of the road” paper, runs this Luckovich garbage from time to time. Of course, Luckovich is a step up from the infantile daily cartoons by their third-grade cartoonist Clay Jones (http://fredericksburg.com/News/FLS/Toons/).
My problem with Luckovich is he’s nasty when he’s trying to make a point.

    This is promising.

Looking at the “view poll results”

    “Do you like this cartoon?”

25.22% OR 1530 Votes for “YES”
74.78% OR 4537 Votes for “NO”.

Therefore, I guess Mr. Luckovich can’t get his smear campaign straight.

Kind of stupid since W didn’t veto “his” health care at all. He’s still covered by SCHIP.

How about one of Kos, Dan Rather and a donkey pointing at Clarence Thomas saying “He got special treatment in the Texas National Guard” and perhaps holding up a fake but accurate memo?
