Randi Rhodes wasn’t mugged, Air America credibility plunges to NYTimes stock-level depths

Update 8:30pm Eastern. “It was the brownshirts!”

Lord, what fools these moonbats be.

The real story:

Air America radio host Randi Rhodes is temporarily off the air, but claims she was brutally attacked near her Manhattan apartment are bogus, her lawyer and a police source said today.

Fellow host Jon Elliott claimed on the liberal radio network that Rhodes had been mugged while walking her dog, Simon, on Sunday night. Elliot, who said Rhodes lost several teeth in the attack, waxed about a possible conspiracy.

“Is this an attempt by the right-wing, hate machine to silence one of our own?” he asked on the air, according to Talking Radio, a blog. “Are we threatening them? Are they afraid that we’re winning? Are they trying to silence intimidate us?”

A police source said Rhodes never filed a report and never claimed to be the victim of a mugging. Cops from Manhattan’s 17th Precinct called her attorney, who told them Rhodes was not a victim of a crime, the source said.

Rhodes’ lawyer told the Daily News she was injured in a fall while walking her dog. He said she’s not sure what happened, and only knows that she fell down and is in a lot of pain. The lawyer said Rhodes expects to be back on the air Thursday. He stressed there is no indication she was targeted or that she was the victim of a “hate crime.”

The nutroots are sorely disappointed. But the truth isn’t likely to stop them from believing that it’s the Reich-wing’s fault.

Rush Limbaugh tripped her! Ann Coulter silenced her! Karl Rove poisoned her dog!

Newsday: Talk show host apologizes for faulty report of NYC mugging…

Air America released a statement saying that “the reports of a presumed hate crime are unfounded.” Elliott followed that up with a retraction.

“I shouldn’t have speculated based on hearsay that Randi Rhodes had been mugged and that it may have been an attack from a right wing hate machine. I apologize for jumping to conclusions based on an emotional reaction,” he said in a written statement.

From my experience in law enforcement the most likely scenario is she was involved in domestic violence in her own or someone elses apartment. Whether a male or female lover is not known. The truth will come out sooner or later as there is too much scrutiny to hide it. The next likely cause was being intoxicated on alcohol or drugs. why else make up a phony story? Michelle we love you. Rush Limbaugh referenced you positively today on his program in the same light as himself of being blamed by the loons of the left for some reason, I believe over the SCHIP issue. God bless and keep on keeping on!

Careful on the patriotism angle with Ms Rhodes. She did serve in the Air Farce, ya know. Courtesy of wiki.

Rhodes was brought up in a Jewish household, but does not discuss her religious views publicly. Her father was a mechanical engineer and World War II veteran and her mother worked in a dress shop. She grew up in Brooklyn and Queens, but her parents divorced when she was 15, and she and her father moved to California.

    [edit] Military career
Rhodes enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1977 and worked stateside as a mechanic in Texas, achieving the rank of Airman First Class. She left the Air Force early and relocated to Ohio, where she participated in a program called Palace Chase to release her to the reserves and honorably discharge her. Although she left active duty before her contract was up, she still received an honorable discharge after completing the program. [2]

Lovely. Why stop with political affiliation? We apparently haven’t stopped at race (unless you’re white), sex (unless you’re male), sexual preference (unless you are straight), religion (unless you are Christian or Jewish). And now, I suppose political affiliation (unless you are conservative/republican).

Again, I say it: Hate crimes laws are the biggest bunch of PC crap that has been foisted on America.

A crime is a crime. We don’t need “hate crime” laws. We need enforcement of crimes on the books.

Still plugging away with those apples & oranges I see.

In the Columbia incident people started speculating that it may be some kind of inside job after the administration there began acting in a very suspicious manner. Tell the truth now: if the Young Republicans had security footage of people throwing pies at Ann Coulter and refused to turn it over wouldn’t you think it a bit odd?

In this case, on the other hand, Ms. Rhodes had barely hit the pavement before the usual crowd of moonbats at Kos began thinking that rabid right-wingers had taken to physically assaulting relatively obscure left-wing pundits. As though random acts of violence were unheard of in New York City.

Do you honestly see those being similar circumstances? Because if you do I really have to question your ability to reason.

I went on Kos and read more about this and honestly, On My Soapbox is correct; I’ve never seen such language as that on this site or on any other “conservative” sites. It’s frightening really. I used to teach in the public schools and while I’ll admit to typing too fast and not hitting the “preview” key a few times, I do know how to speak correctly and write correctly. When I used to grade some of my US History papers I would add grammar suggestions, etc., well I got called on the carpet for it and was told I was not an English teacher and that correcting grammar was not my job. It appears these “Kos Kids” were not well served by their teachers while in school, be they public or private.

Those Kos clowns seem to have trouble putting subject in front of predicate.

Their rants do support what I’ve found for a long time: the more one has to use cursing, profanity, bathroom words, scatological references, etc; invariably the less meaningful what one has to say is.

Besides in debates and conversation, this obtains in the arts.

    Must good art be pornographic?

Must comedians curse, or depend on sexual illustrations (not having the ability to suggest innuendos or double entendres, which are by far more amusing and clever)?

Got news for them: if their material were actually funny, it wouln’t have to be sexually explicit, nor full of scatological terms, etc, etc.

How much of today’s “comedy” is actually as clever and hilarious as the best of Harold Lloyd, Buster Keaton, The Stooges (with Curly, ‘course), Laurel & Hardy, Bill Cosby, or Bob Newhart?

Does anyone really think folks will be watching and listening, and laughing, to recordings of today’s comedians, 40 to 80+ years from now?

    Doubt it.

    But, I digress.
    Sorry….

When I was in grade school and high school, the history teachers; as well as the science teachers, when referring to an essay question, or lab report; would tell us, “This may not be English class; but, correct English is still expected. And, you will be marked down for spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors.”

If they want someone who is funded and endorsed by people like these being the Leader of the Free World?

Ma and Pa aren’t necessarily on the Web, and generally wouldn’t be cruising these sites even if they were, therefore they are unaware that this kind of thing has been and is happening out there. They may see the censored view of these Libbies on the Evening News when they hold a “Down With America” rally, but do they really know just to what depths of depravity and loathesomeness they all live and wallow in? no, I reckon they wouldn’t. So, if these cockroaches were exposed to the light, then this mythical lead that the Dems have for President would vanish. Not only that but it might have the added bonus of these hate sites cleaning up a bit so as not to be shown for who and what they are and maybe positive discourse would take it’s place.

So please, if any of the aides for any of the Republican candidates are reading any of these comments, please tell your candidate to expose these people. Take the damn gloves off and “fight them there so we don’t have to fight them here”. You would win hands down, and they would be sent packing so fast they wouldn’t know what hit them.

That comment has been up there for a long time now. Amazing. Someone advocating beating up a conservative talk show host as a “response in kind”. And they do nothing to remove the comment.

I was going to post some of their more “popular” comments, but I won’t. Suffice it to say the horde was ready to arm themselves with firearms for protection and redress. There is a level of paranoia on that site that is alarming. As well as a not-so-peaceful approach to addressing those paranoid delusions. They are expecting a civil war in the US - against conservatives.

So the moonbats have to make up the thuggery to have something to talk about?

Here is some factual MN Moonbat thuggery:

1.) My bmw convertible had a white oval W’04 sticker on it. Shortly after I moved here, some moonbat took their key and keyed out the W on the sticker, thus leaving several deep scratches on my car.

2.) 6 mos later my SUV was parked in an open air parking lot. It had a Bush/Cheney ‘04 sticker on it. I’d had to park in the far left of the spot because the car on my right was parked in the far left their parking spot. I came out to a nasty gram stuck in my doorhandle saying “Learn how to park you F#&%in’ Bush Lover.”

THAT is factual moonbat (passive/aggressive MN style) thuggery. I know, most of you, particularly Michelle, have had much worse.

Idiots, I don’t even touch their damn Wellstone stickers, or walk up to them and tell them “he died, and he was losing when it happened”.

The AA host’s apology mirrors that:

“I shouldn’t have speculated based on hearsay that Randi Rhodes had been mugged and that it may have been an attack from a right wing hate machine.”

It presumes the “right wing hate machine” to be a fact and serves their purpose further. Pathetic.

Ya know life is damned hard for leftwing nut cases these days.

They thought they had a winner with the Lacrosse gambit. The leftwing propagandists were running and howling with the dogs, and it looked like they were going to hang some rich, white boys. Sadly, their “bought and paid for” DA couldn’t pull it off… too many honest people got involved.

But, they got their mojo back on when they hounded Imus off the air for trying to get too cute when commenting on hairdo’s of black female bubble bouncers (the ultra protected class). Got a republican senator to almost resign, too (better be careful where you tap your toes).

Well, that renewed their energy! The Propagandists were back in action, and the dogs wanted fresh meat.

So, they decided to try to accuse one of the most patriotic people in the United States of being unpatriotic. Even got their hand picked, talking weasels in the politburo to denounce him, and write a letter to his boss. However, Rushie proved to be too clever for them, and their propagandists refused to get on board… Too bad… once again the lefties had egg on their faces.

Ok, so now they’re grasping again. We now have a noodle brained, leftwing raver (aka talk-show host) falling on her face. Both literally and figuratively. She even makes sure to knock out a tooth. Yet, no coverage of this latest “conservative outrage”.

The left is getting disparate, folks!

They’re draping hackneyed symbols of racism on door knobs. Screaming about Bushie bringing down the WTC. Hooping and hollering about how the evil USA is the sole cause of “Gaia” getting all warmed up. Conservative meanies are beating up “the children”, and laughing at them when they get sick. God knows what other evil, conservative faux controversy has gone down. Nobody seems to care!

I guess they’re hoping that if they through enough poop at the wall, some of it will stick…. So far, it’s just bouncing back on them.
