Point two: The Code Pinkies did not attack common soldiers. They tried to convince people not to join the military so that fewer would be sent to Iraq. That’s not as bad as trash talking wounded vets.

Bull. They called a Veteran, who is serving in a recruiter capacity a "traitor." They scrawled that across his door. They further more claimed that he is a liar. They defamed his character and they publicly called him a liar and a traitor. Please explain how that is not an attack on a "common soldier" whatever in the hell a "common soldier" is. Are you hinting that "uncommon soldiers" are OK targets? I don't get your wording there at all.

Your assumption that fewer people will go over to Iraq if fewer are recruited is a very unthoughtful sentiment. Thank you so much for obvious lack of concern for our current troops who are there or who are going back. Have you thought this through? If we don't have enough soldiers, then guess what? That means our current soldiers will stay for longer tours in Iraq and spend fewer days in garrison. We are not leaving Iraq until the job is done. Fewer soldiers is not going to stop the military from doing its job. It is not a matter of numbers. That is the most ridiculous notion I have heard in a long time. That is not how the military thinks or operates. My son is currently over for 15 months, and I am grateful that there are other Americans who are willing, able and who WANT to serve by their own free will. That way he can come home and rest when his time is over.

Furthermore the person whose blog you posted I can choose to look at or not. I choose not to. I don't read anti-military sentiment. I have enough crap like that thrown at me, so I choose to avoid it when I can. The sad things is that Recruiter does not have the choice to not go to work one day because some whackos are scrawling hate messages about him over his doorway. He has a job to do, and he will do it. Code Pink will never stop him from doing that. He's a Marine because he does not accept adversity as defeat.

Here is a link to the recruiter's open letter to Code Pink.

I can't be there in person but I will be there in spirit ... and I just left a voice mail to Capt. Lund at his office to let him know exactly that and thsat I support him all the way ...

Capt. Richard Lund, USMC, 510-705-8060

Take a minute and call and leave a message of support ... it's the least those of us too far away to be there can do to show support ...

Here’s an interesting example of conservative “support” of our troops, in which soldiers with post traumatic stress disorder are faking it.

Now how in the world do you know any soldier is faking PTSD? Have you personally evaluated them? Do you know anyone who, in your mind, actually has PTSD? Do you even know what it is, and how one gets it? More importantly DO YOU EVEN CARE? I doubt you do.

I have friends who suffered from this disorder, and it is painful to watch them struggle day to day. How dare you denigrate combat soldiers to try and make leftist "brownie points," you jerk!

And...NO, Code Pink, did NOT try to convince people NOT to join the military! According to press reports, the Pinkos vandalized the military work site, and attempted to itimidate the recruiters. And I'm happy to hear that you admit that you were "trash talking" wounded vets.
Point two: The Code Pinkies did not attack common soldiers. Yes - one example of some conservative with a blog

Please don't pretend that only lefties can be nuts. Let's "move on" and discuss the actual issue: should we stay in Iraq?

lgm,
I noticed you used the words "interesting example", instead of "good example". That's an appropriate choice, as the link you provide is not a good example, but is interesting in that it has so little in common with the support conservatives usually reserve for the troops.

LGM:

Yes - one example of some conservative with a blog ( ooh, they have a blog - that makes them significant! ) is much more indicative of the hypocracy of conservatives as opposed to the constant harrassment Code Pink throws at our recruiters, the denegrating statements made by liberal celebrities and politicians, and the DailyCrap written about by DailyKos and friends.

Good point - ( NOT )
