What’s Julie Myers doing at the “Hezbollah Social Club?”
I’ve written extensively on the mess at DHS and the crony appointments with little to no experience in immigration law enforcement who populate the upper echelons of DHS management. Debbie Schlussel has also been on the case for a long time and has a new column in the NYPost on the toxic mix of cronyism and dhimmitude. ICE head and crony appointment Julie Myers is set to speak tonight in Dearborn at a joint known derisively as the “Hezbollah Social Club.” Peachy:
Julie Myers, the head of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE), is set to deliver tonight’s keynote address in Dearborn, Mich., to a group that honors lax judges - including ones who interfere with enforcement of our immigration laws. What’s worse, the head of the group - the Michigan American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee - is a suspected former terrorist who repeatedly violated U.S. immigration laws, then used political ties to avoid deportation.
The venue: a place known to local cops and federal agents as “The Hezbollah Social Club.” Yes, Dearborn, Mich.’s Bint Jebail Cultural Center is named after the village in south Lebanon that sheltered the terror group’s chief, Hassan Nasrallah, during last year’s Hezbollah-Israel war. Rockets are shot from Bint Jebail into Israel even today.
The Dearborn center has hosted many pro-Hezbollah rallies featuring fiery anti-Semitic, anti-Christian and anti-American speeches. (At one rally I attended last year, Haj Mohammed Turfe, the center’s founding chairman, won raucous applause for saying he looked forward to Armageddon because “only a few thousand Jews will survive.”) Federal agents tell me it has also been the site of gatherings of Hezbollah agents and money launderers.
But it’s the man who’s hosting Myers that has ICE agents aghast. The head of the Michigan ADC is Imad Hamad - who, while living in California, allegedly recruited, organized and fund-raised for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). More, federal officials fought for almost two decades to deport him.
What the hell?

Nothing that Bush and his cronies do surprises me anymore. They are a herd of deer caught in the headlights and January 2009 when they finally cross the road can’t come soon enough.
This administration has moved from “Major Disappointment” to “Major Disaster”.

The United States is unraveling at record pace now…the wheels are flat out coming off the wagon.
Wasn’t she just confirmed by the Senate for that job in the last couple of weeks?
It would be a useful exercise if we had a list of Senators voting for her with their contact information.
This is beyond absurd. This would be like J. Edgar Hoover attending a cocktail party with Al Capone.
When will our government wake up? Appeasement is for Libs, not Conservatives. Bush needs to rethink some of his selections. Wow!!!! This one is among the best no doubt.
The President needs to be pressed - hard - to disclose the Administration thinking on attending this event. My personal belief is that there is no love for Islam on display here; instead, a boneheaded belief that to get along is to avoid an all-out war of the West against Islam.
But this foolishly ignores what we are observing - the Islamists push for more and more advantage, not inclusion, so that the inevitable explosion of the pressure cooker will be all the greater.
Pushing Bush to “explain what they do” now is important, as Islam in America should be part of the election debate.
This is so typical. The FBI and DHS for the past several years have cared more about appeasing Muslims than keeping us safe.
Look at this from the FBI’s job page. They have a Muslim special agent actually saying the following, and they are proud of it! It does not bode well for our future security:
“One of the advantages I have as a Middle Eastern and Muslim agent is that I bring an intimate understanding of the religion and the culture. This helps in understanding the mindset of the people I am interacting with. It enables me to see things from their point of view. Sometimes, the challenge is to overcome the perception held by some in the Middle Eastern community that the FBI is not there to help them, when we really are.”
The FBI is even encouraging this multiculturalism:
“There is no reason for the community to shy away from law enforcement organizations, including the FBI. By actively participating with or joining such agencies, we can increase understanding of each other’s cultures and desires for a better life. Working together is a good representation of the Middle Eastern community. It’s what we truly stand for.”

So it is no wonder Julie Myers at DHS is feting terrorists in Michigan today. These agencies have become multiculturalism understanding centers. It is really disgusting.

While working for the Federal Government I noticed something important - as the men got older and rose in rank they also got a lot fatter. HOWEVER… they were too cheap to buy new shirts and ties that fit their new size and shape, so the colars and ties got tighter, and tighter, until the blood flow to the brain became a mere trickle only sufficient to maintain a semblence of life. QED.

Those moments are coming with way to much frequency.
This country is going to hell-in-a-handbasket tied to the back of a rocket. Sure, it burns bad now but it’s going to get a lot worse if someone doesn’t hit the kill switch soon.
I can’t see Fred, Rudy, Mitt, or John letting this happen. Can’t wait for one of these men to occupy the W.H.
I’d love one of them to say something…. but I’m not holding my breath.
Of course, 8 or 10 years ago I’d have never believed that a Texas conservative republican like Bush would’ve let this happen either.
Rudy and John are pro-infiltration, so that makes them pro-terror in my book. And why not? 9/11 was the best thing that ever happened to Rudy’s career.

This kind of idiocy is explained away as “making contacts in the Muslim community so they will cooperate in the War on Terror.”
The chances of a Muslim in Dearborn turning in another Muslim to the Feds is as close to zero as you can get. There have been threats and even beatings against anyone displaying any willingness to cooperate with the authorities at all.
Most Dearborn Muslims are terrified of the extremists - loyal to the US though many may be, there is no way they would trust the Feds to keep their cooperation quiet. Those few who have come forward have been persecuted so the question of outreach is moot as far as I’m concerned.
I thought Julie Myers was nominated two years ago, and MM’s related blog entries show that…. so, she’s still not fully confirmed? How did that happen?
Another thing: Does anyone know the topic of her “keynote address?” I don’t understand the relevance of her speaking to that body.
Of course, I don’t like the arabism of this administration. Bush seems much more beholden to the Mexicans and the Saudis than to the people and the sovereignty of this nation.

The saddest thing is that I am more QUALIFIED for the position than she is, and all I have done is serve 20 years in the service with the last several working with the ASF/Counter-Terrorism and Force Protection.
Geez…On second thought-the CPL on my last base’s Marine Cadre is better qualified than her.
