Your Black Muslim Bakery still full of surprises
You remember the Your Black Muslim Bakery case, right? Torture, kidnapping, intimidation, murdering journalists–all the smears that Bay Area lefties love to throw at America, and all of them going on in Oakland in an institution subsidized by the city and endorsed by Bay Area lefty politicians.
Well, they’re still making headlines. A fifth YBMB associate has been charged in the kidnapping and torture of a woman and her daughter, allegedly so she would reveal the location of a drug dealer’s stash of cash. Meanwhile the handyman who is charged with murdering journalist Chauncey Bailey has pleaded not guilty, and may be trying to shift the blame to Bakery higher-ups.
A couple of days ago, an AK-47 rifle tied to two more murders turned up in a search related to the woman’s kidnapping and torture.
The AK-47 connection to the two homicides added a new urgency to their efforts – they said they feared bakery members were trying to “cleanse” the area around their San Pablo Avenue headquarters of undesirables.
“Cleansing” “undesirables”? There’s yet another profoundly illiberal sentiment from within this fever-dream of identity politics.
Well, unless you consider eugenicist Margaret Sanger a liberal.
_____
P.S. Speaking of “cleansing”, YBMB wasn’t just your ordinary bakery/violent criminal enterprise. They also offer Colon Therapy:
Give yourself the gift of letting go and experience a whole new level of well being. Colon Therapy is a profound healing experience that facilitates cleansing, detoxification and release of stores up toxins within the entire physical, mental and emotional bodies. There is nothing like the feeling of lightness of body and clarity of mind experienced after a colonic.
UPDATE: I wonder if they give gift certificates? Someone I know has a birthday tomorrow…

OT @bear; Allman Bros, black crows, Jim croce, beatles, Doobies, the who, ray withers, U2, etc. your usual (random) suspects.
AJ – ur a goofball. what the heck does your M.D. have you on.
On topic – there are quite a few of these BMB around. Everytime I walk by the one near 17th & webster/franklin…they are hanging outside of the bakery. sketchy to say the least.
ps, bear…you ever been on “wolfgangs vault.com”
Really good concerts – free online listening. good stuff.
OT- feebz “aint but one way out babe, lawd uhjustcaint go out that doh!”
Haven’t heard a peep from Barbara “I’m so honest” Lee in reply to my letter to her when the murder and arrests first went down.
Too busy backing Cynthia “SmackDown” McKinney getting ready to run as a “Grreeeeen” candidate out here.
These Moon Loons are putting too much “Hidden Valley Ranch” on their tofu burgers.
Good grief.
AJ drank Bear mush and has never recovered.
OT Feebie- not yet. but it looks like a good place for a bear to go. 10Q betty much
How long will this BMB debacle go on? How high does it go?
Good ol’ bab’s. just couldn’t find it in her good conscious to vote for the war oversees. She was pretty vocal about that…. but put a nice neat moral/ethical dilemma in her own backyard….(crickets).
too bad. i heard that journalist did a heck of a lot for his community in Oakland. He certainly deserves better!
Been tellin that boy to go easy on it. The potion can cause total devotion.
Mebbe i should market it to the BMB. Easier than colonics. Good for ya too.
the unconfirmed word on the street – PRETTY HIGH UP. Why do you think there has been zero outrage and only surface coverage on BMB. Really, its been fairly quiet….
Not suprising.
Have a great weekend all – GOD Bless you.
Soap
Whats the name of the local paper out there in the Creek, Feebie?
bear,,, ewwwwwwwwww
Contra Costa Times…
Soap- I gotcha covered, Brother!
I’m going to take goofball as a compliment. Humor gets me through the day.
term of endearment AJ, it was not meant as a slight,,,I promise!
Soaper Fi, enjoy the weekend
Between black crime and immeeegrayshun, is there much coverage of either in the CC Times. Over here in ZerkoVille there’s always an excuse to cover it so to damn the police or ICE.
ty feebie.
Feebiebabe:
OT
“…Allman Bros, black crows, Jim croce, beatles, Doobies, the who…”
If you’re interested in the best (cough!) older stuff (never thought I’d be saying that – after all, I have been 29 for soooo many years):
Johnny Winter
Cream, Derek & the Dominos, Blind Faith (before Eric Clapton became what he became)
Zeppelin & Hendrix, ‘course
Humble Pie, & some of Frampton’s early solo stuff
Creedence
and
BEFORE the mid 70s:
Santana, Traffic, Steppenwolf, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Steve Miller, Jethro Tull, & Fleetwood Mac
Got loooaaaadds on my IPOD too.
The stuff NOT played on “classic rock” stations is easily as good, if not better, than what is played.
Got more suggestions, but I’ll stop for now…sorry to go on and on!!
At least she dint call ya a gumball, Dude.
Don’t forget Elvin Bishop.
Dont forget ABR
Anything but Rap.
#118 – I am an ol’ soul. I had stopped to, just so you know….I have
Traffic, Fleet, Stones, Aerosmith, Miller, Cream, Zeppelin, Hendrix, (Ray Charles), & CCR. I know I am gonna get something thrown at me for this one…although I seriously respect Santana…not one of my favorites (flinch) sorry.
Contra Costa Times is better than the SF Chron. They usually suffer from a “lack” of reporting more so than MIS-reporting. But with all smaller papers, you tend to see that is not very uncommon.
I’ve known since AT LEAST 1999 – my first conversation with an Oakland native (word on the street) that the BMB was 1) militant, 2) corrupt (up to the political levels) and 3)not fond of Caucasians.
Take that at face value only….
Qualifier* My first conversation about BMB, that happend to be with an Oakland native.
Ahhh, much better.
I grew up -in years only mind you 8)- between San Lorenzo and Hayward California. Real East Bay grease. Had a park across the street from my house, which are both still there today.
I was there from 59 to 72, at the height of things you might say. Beatniks were still hanging out there in 1960. Learned how to ride a bike on my own just as things got interesting. By the time things started getting funky at UC with the “Free Speech” movement, there were mass “cool outs” at the park across the street.
The beatniks were replaced with hundreds of student radicals, Black Panthers, Brown Berets, and hippie/yippie dippies, plus more and more war protestors.
All had cause to hide out from the cops and authorities and riots in Berkeley and Oakland. The park was a great place to ride bikes- so we had a chance to get close to these folks.
We used to collect wine jugs after the weekend to use for beebee gun practice.
This was before the notable ones went on to have “star power” in their circles and rap sheets with the cops and FBI. Black Muslims were considered cool only so far as they were consistent with Malcolm X’s walk. The rest were considered flunky charlatans for the likes of Bey and his crew. They never came around the Park.
We saw and heard stuff there as kids that make all these “radicals” sound like pudding hittin the floor.
We kept track of which group was which and what they stood for. And there were Hells Angels around too. All of them wanted to bend our ears because we were little Catholic kids. We believed in God and most of them didn’t.
But we were just kids on bikes. They liked us. Little Catholic kids taking stories back to the nuns during Catechism class in school.
OT: I’ve always been partial to Santana. Played at my high school freshman welcome dance. Mindblowing.
Knowed whatcha meant, Feebie
Feebiebabe & Bear1909:
How could I forget – Motown, when it was Motown!
Santana at your high school dance?!
Man!
Just a wee bit jealous….
Have you checked out the Santana album Live at the Fillmore 1968?
It’s terrific.
But, avoid the Fillmore Performance: San Francisco 1968-dreadful quality.
Talk about mindblowing – check out Johnny Winter’s “Live/And” & “Captured:Live”.
#126- on wolfgangsvault? – or are these ones you can purchase on iT’s?
ot-
Blues image played at my HS prom and it took me 5 years to get their one hit wonder song out of my head “Ride Captian Ride” they played it all night long.
HS prom – “One” by U2. (giggle) That sounds so lame – even though I am a fan of U2, when considering the folks mentioned above….pretty wimpy.
Poor AJ, no clue what your affliction is, but hope you feel better.
ajmontana:
I had just graduated high school when that came out.
That was based on the incident with The Pueblo and North Korea of a couple years earlier, if I’m not mistaken.
feebiebabe:
Sorry-gotta plead ignorance re
?wolfgangsvault.
Over years I’ve purchased many CDs – probably most of them used.
Then, I made compilation CDs.
Then, I put the tunes on the iPod.
I would guess you could get the tunes from iTunes.
I myself have not bought anything from iTunes, and I doubt I will in the future.
I’ve heard that if you had purchased music from iTunes, and were to have your iPod damaged, and not have a backup of the tunes somewhere; that you’d have to buy them all over again.
Is that correct?
‘Course, not all tunes from all bands are needed, but…boy, is this off topic!
Granite, you will not be disappointed.
wofgangsvault
its free, check it out.
“73 men sailed out, from the San Francisco Bay…” great guitar solo in that one.
Alrighty….here’s a Bay Area fav: BOXTOPS- “Sweet Cream ladies, forward march…the world owes you a living….”
I always suspected the lead singer turned out to be Eddie Money.
Now what tune is draggin thru yer head
But seriously- all this Bay Area nostalgia sets a context for what was goin on around the YBMB back in the day
Yes, but you can keep them in a library or what my fiance has (over 10,000 + songs) an OMEGA hard drive. its a separate storage for his songs.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone. Sorry for the hijack!
bear – yes, semi-topical.
feebiebabe-
Yep, I got a cuppla thousand backed up.
The site looks interesting.
Thanks.
Back to topic – Bear, your #124 was very interesting.
Thank you.
feebie- horshoes and hand grenades.
yw-Granite. got a million stories. alot went down in them days. being in my pre-teens made it even more interesting. having a good memory then helped! i know quite a few folks who are 10 years older than myself and are still in a fog over what they can and cant remember about those days.
i look at my nine year old son, Levon, now and he is at the age I was in 1964- the year the Beatles were first on Ed Sullivan. my oh my
Many Happy Returns of the day, Michelle.
May there be many more to come.
