Again, I feel for the normal folks who live there.
Mm hmm. I see nothing’s changed in the public universities since the 1960s.
What a reeking trash heap of Marxism and now dhimmitude.
Fight on, Michelle.
Freedom of speech only works one way in this country as far as a card carrying liberal is concerned. Free speech for me not for thee.
I’m reminded of the old theme song to Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids: “If you’re not careful, you just might learn something.”
The Commie Kids are very careful never to learn anything.
Robert Spencer was measured, composed, assertive and excellent in his candour. Many thanks to incorrect Univ (I should say there was a audio video in sync issue). How I wish I lived near one of his venues to listen to him in person. I complained about this so much to my wife that she had to calm me down
Blackfive has a GREAT review of Horowitz. He sounds like a real generous mentor!

Most of these young punks need to be taken behind the woodshed for some good old-fashioned attitude adjustments that they obviously were never given during their formative years … they are given to rudeness, foul language, incoherent tirades, vulgar gestures, unhinged rants … and those are just some of their better moments …
Also … the Orange guy definitely was not a student IMHO … the hands are not those of a college age individual
Keep on keeping on folks … this is going to be a long battle …
Thanks Michelle …

You want to threaten protest with violence? A time machine might help. The Kent State shootings were almost 40 years ago.
I have just finished reading Nonie Darwish’s book. What an eye opener. Read the book if you have not already. How could she be called racist? She is talking about her own culture. If she can’t talk about it then I guess that no one can in this crazy society that we live in.
I wonder why the parents of these disturbed young people are not concerned about how these colleges are warping their children. They pay the tuition blindly unaware of how these institutions are run. Yeah, I get it! Apathy strikes again! The “silent majority” of this country has only itself to blame for these cesspools of “higher learning”.
By the way, the term “racist” is now a catch-all term to throw at anyone you don’t agree with. Calling Nonie Darwish a racist is just a way of shutting her up. If going against an Islamist enemy that is determined to destroy my way of life makes me a “racist”, so be it.
Michelle, please keep the light on these situations.
Islam is a religion, not a race. Sharia law will, however, assert the cultural tenets of a religious-based caste system as the primary determinant of legitimate access to wealth, privilege and power based on Islam as the model for “humanity”.
And that would in effect create a system of oppression based on religion which, in effect, dehumanizes all who do not conform to the system of logic, thought, symbol formation, and behavioral standards.
That would create a system of oppression based on religion which, in effect, dehumanizes all who do not conform to its standards for law, entertainment, sexual relations, business, culture, education, science, literature, civic participation, recreation, worship and every other conceiveable aspect of human endeavor.
Darwish’s book is a serious shot across the bow of radical Islam. Her words are a siren call to Muslims of good intention to develop their own voices and rise up against the fascist takeover of their religion through sharia.
Cal Berkeley is a great University in so many ways. Yet, the rats who occupy paid positions of authority there on the staff and faculty who encourage this kind of fascist, as well as the anarchist, conduct are living vicariously through the young.
“Activist resumes” are being built on this kind of “protest”. These punks with posters are the next wave of “graduate students” who will move into teaching assistantships and spread their warped views, and will be rewarded by liberals with degrees for “speaking truth to power” (Cornel West probably regrets having coined the phrase)and ultimately tenure for their political behavior rather than the merits of advancing critical thought.
The coming World War will sweep these clowns away. The clock is ticking while they are busy being cute and emotional.
Kent State was not threatening protest with violence. Kent State was violence being used in response to four days of assault, arson and vandalism.
Yes, the force they used was excessive. But the cherished liberal myth that some kids were sitting around singing “give peace a chance” before they were murdered by stormtroopers is just that… a myth.
Oh please, get off your rhetorical high horse.
When the war comes home because you nutjobs refuse to fight it elsewhere, don’t worry…
We’ll protect you from the chopping block of Shari Law.

“The Commie Kids are very careful never to learn anything.”
Correct.
But, unfortunately, that’s only part of the problem;
as the saying goes (paraphrase)…: besides learning nothing, they sadly also forget nothing.
They should all run an experiment at Berkely. Sharia for a day. Wouldn’t that be fun? You would have the anti-vice police enforcing sharia law with battons. Let the college kids actually LEARN something valuable.
No showing skin, NO GAYS! No crosses, must bow down 5 times a day (no excuses). . . maybe they would understand why what they are doing is ridiculous. Maybe not.
I wonder how many of these wonderful head in sand idiots have taken up ahmadinnerjackets offer to come see for themselves?
I’m guessin zero because they know the truth and are scared sh__less to even attempt to go there.
Hamas and Hezbollah operatives are on college campuses. Their organ of choice is the Muslim Student Association.
American jihad is in full swing. And the American Left believes they can capitalize on it using the “enemy of my enemy is my friend” maxim to bring itself to power.
Got news for them: jihadis have some piano wire and dull knives waiting as your reward for your dhimmitude.
watershed–See your point but, what are we supposed to do in order to shut these fascist/communist/anarchists up?
“Don’t Taze Me Bro!!!” — Berserkeley wannabe
Hollow hearts cannot light hollow minds. After teaching and speaking on college campuses during the 80s and 90s it was apparent to me that there is a serious void in the lives of most students who take up Left causes. And that void is being filled by the religious fervor of Islamic fascism.
They may not be converting American kids to Islam in droves; but, the zeal with which they are pursuing jihad speaks volumes to the hollow kids raised on liberalist jibberish.
As a nation we are incredibly vulnerable to these rats because many parents have allowed their kids “to find their own boundaries” in life.
Uh-uh. Johnny and Julie needed parenting. We will reap that whirlwind in the next 5 years. And thereafter.
Mold never sleeps. Sharia always creeps.
I said it before, I’ll say it again, if we don’t hold the line on creeping sharia, who will?
I say let em blow their gas. But remove them from the speaking venue. Let them blow it outside. Enforce the rights and privileges of the organizations on campus that paid to have their speaker speak. That trumps these rats’ “first ammendment” rights.
Period.
The University officials are uninformed about their duties. Legal counsel on campus (overpaid hand wringers) refuse to take any risk to defend the perogatives of the institution out of fear of bad PR.
Bad PR with whom? Saudi sheiks? Throw down a serious code to fight political correctness on campus and Americans will be pounding a clear path to their doorstep in droves.
We need leadership from our institutions- not pandering PR from lawyers.
Cal could make an announcement before the beginning of every speaking engagement which articulates the following:
“If any member of the audience is viewed to be disrupting the speakers presentation- according to the Campus Security staff- then be advised that a brief recess will be called and you will be removed from the venue.”
And then do it. Then prosecute them according to the campus judicial code. Suspend their student privileges and put them up for expulsion.
Try that on for size, Rat. Lovin me now? No meal plan for you, Rat. Oh, your registration has been cancelled,Rat. No classes. You lose all work completed, Rat. Back to zero, Rat. Out onto the street, Rat. Call Mommy, Rat. Call the ACLU, Rat.
No disruptions will be tolerated, Rat.
We meant it, Rat.
We will not submit, Rat.
These people are sheep! They don’t care whether they follow the elitist liberals or the mad mullah’s.
I believe the Revolutionary Communist Party which were the source of most of the violence and disturbances at Darwish’s talk are the same group who threatened me, physically assaulted me, and tried to break my videocamera in Lafayette Square at the last “peace” march in Washington, DC.
You kicked their ass, right Tantor?
Try and break my stuff, and I break my face. In most states I can’t shoot you to protect my stuff, but I can respond with violence.
Keep yer dirty hippy mitts off my gear, sheep, and I’ll keep my hands off of you.
Oh, and raise a hand or object towards one of the gals in the group, and you won’t like the response. They’ll have to pull me off you.
Fair warning to the Lefties.
Sheep or lemmings? What’s a “quality” education cost today?
Tantor, we’ll see. But at other campuses it has been Muslim students in the vanguard. No doubt the RCP added fuel to the fire at this one. But the pro-”Arafat” crowd is running the show here on matters of Islamofascism.
Your ability to think critically, apparently.
You don’t want to know the number of morons here in Central IL who are so damned excited about Colbert’s running. It’s frightening, really.
#23, they know they don’t want Christianity, that’s for sure. All the other stuff is tolerable…
I have dibs on swj when the fit hits the shan.
Deal, aj… Unless the ladies request me.
Then yer on yer own.
True, Christianity allows them to lead themselves…too much work, responsibility, and thought.
Good to see that finally these threads highlighting the extremists and commies are focusing on the loons and not advocating terrorists attack/earthquake/Our own military attacking civilians/etc
Thanks to those who truly understood my #7 … a simple call for children to be taught some respect for others through some discipline and values taught at home during their formative years … that generraly translates into not only respect for others but some level of self-respect as well … a foreign concept to these idiots that we see day-in and day-out …
I am sure the parents are totally thrilled and going around their workplaces bragging on Johnny and Judy and their academic accomplishments at college … anyone see any proud parents around bragging on how their kids shut down a speaker on campus and all their other “accomplishments” … yep … that’s what I thought … what ever happened to going to class?
generraly = generally … more coffee please …
Let the college kids actually LEARN something valuable.
Am I the only feminist that wishes to keep her genitals in tact? This, quite frankly, is what makes me crazy about those that argue that Islam is a “gender neutral” religion. I am horrified by the thought of FGC and would do ANYTHING to keep it from happening to me.
I think I am one of the last remaining feminists as all other feminists have remained silent in regard to this issue…
I have to control myself on this issue as it makes me so nuts. How about I cut your balls off, or half your penis? Would you be more “pure”???
ouch.
You know — that is a really interesting proposal! Maybe make it longer than a day though… Make it like an “exchange” month at some off-campus location. Impose full Sharia law. Women in burkas, no booze/drugs, no complaints or discussions about the way the law is imposed. Imprisonment (and at least the fear of death) if you should break any of the rules. And make them sign a release saying they agree to the whole experiment. Surely at least some of these dhimmis would “see the light.”
*Image: Feebz with lawnchair and beer.
#38:
“Surely at least some of these dhimmis would ’see the light.’”
I think it would be an understatement to say that, after just looking at the relase, these fools would have to change their underwear before they picked up a pen.
Thanks to those who truly understood my #7 … a simple call for children to be taught some respect for others through some discipline and values
Hell, my first thought on scanning the event photos was, “Geez, would it hurt to put on something other than a T-shirt and shorts to attend a campus lecture?”
Apparently I am a prude.
#41 - LOL -
You are lucky if they are wearing all of that in Bezerkely. Ever heard of the “Naked Guy” on campus?
Well, nothing has changed in Berkeley in 40 years. It’s certainly not a school…more like a radical “gathering place”. Certainly nothing is taught or learned there, that’s worthwhile.
Can’t we round them up and deport them with the rest of the Mexicans (illegal, of course) and just keep it a secret?
#12.
Yeah, murder is a tad excessive . I agree with that point.
Here is Darwish’s speech at Berkeley, which I recommend you read in full:

Best line: “A Muslim woman in Florida insists on covering her face for a driver’s license, cab drivers in Minnesota refuse to take passengers carrying wine from the duty-free shop, the 6 flying Imams who scared everyone on the airplane and are now suing. And lately demands for special faucets at the level of the feet in American schools for Muslim kids to Wada “wash” before praying.
“I have lived in the Middle East for 30 years and have never seen special faucets for Wada in schools or universities, except in mosques. This only exists in Saudi Arabia. The deception is phenomenal. Islamists are pushing Wahabi Saudi values in America; values that I have never even seen in Egypt.
“I have not come to America to become a Wahabi Saudi.”
I’m feeling an Olberman “Worst Person in the World” award upcoming for Michelle. Some Kos clown will get a hold of Chuck’s comment #46 and attribute it to Michelle. Wow Chuck…simply stunning. I guess I have to give you some measure of weird props for having the seeds to say something like that.
Sorry, comment #47.
Chuck,
One of the students killed at Kent State was an Army ROTC cadet walking between classes. Only two of those killed were protestors. Many of the wounded were also merely spectators or walking between classes. I don’t think they should have been shot.
Even the protestors, as nasty and obnoxious as they were, don’t deserve to be shot, even though many were traitors. For Pete’s sake, Chuck, these were just dopey college kids. The best solution would have been to arrest and expel those doing violence or vandalism.
This is a pretty sad chapter in American history. We sent National Guardsmen without riot training onto a campus to control a riot. They got caught in a tight spot and panicked. And why were their guns even loaded? More competence and cooler heads should have ruled the day.
I’m happy to claim to be an Air Force vet and a member of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, too, but Chuck, Chuck, Chuck, a little less zeal please. You’re looking like the mirror image of the Koz kids or DU. Chuck, remember, that we have to be the adults here because the other side will never be. We win by making more sense than the lefties, not by imitating them with more ferocity.
Chuck, Even I can agree, that although is a less politically correct atmosphere, I might agree with you (it was funny afterall), it was a little harsh. No, I’m not a member of the PC police, but as Tantor pointed out, Army ROTC were involved. If it had just been protesters, I would be on the ground laughing;)
Its not that I wouldn’t love engaging in a real intellectual debate on the matter, but the post itself does set a light, almost comical tone to illustrate the absurdity of the protesters.
Don’t take your attackers too seriously, some of us appreciate your very un-PC sense of humor.
#50 Tantor:
Well said.
BTW, am I correct in saying that Tantor was Tarzan’s elephant buddy?
The name hits a memory. I read several of the Edgar Rice Burrough’s books 40+or- years ago - my mother did teach English for ~30 years, after all.
Obviously her college education did not take. This little girl is so poorly informed. Islam is not a race so being concerned about fascism within the ranks of the Muslims can not be racist(Islam is a religion not a race). As Ron White said, this girl is a perfect example, you can’t fix stupid.
Calling critics of Islam “racists” is standard procedure for the Left and for Muslims. It’s fallacious reasoning of course, the tu quoque fallacy to be precise. However, it’s the best they can do to defend the indefensible: sling feces at their opponents like monkeys in the zoo.
Islam is a religion which deserves criticism for the evil values it holds and the violent behavior it advocates. It’s time we had a public discussion about them, but that’s the last thing the radicals want.
You do realize this is the People’s Democratic Republic of Berkeley we are talking about. PC is the code. It is surviving off the taxpayers and its hard sciences reputation. Until is goes the way of Antioch College, nothing there will ever change.
Who the heck decided on setting up an IFAW venue there anyway? Ooo, it’s Berk’ley! It’s famous! Let’s go there! Surely there must have been a thousand other less-famous but more truth-friendly institutions that would have welcomed the speakers and their reality-facing message. Shake the dust from their sandals and travel on.
Yeah, sorry AJ… I’ll be kicking butt for Feebz.
swj … see how you are? …
I wonder why these defenders of Islam especially the pictured woman is not wearing any burka over her face. as someone already said I wish they had to live under Shari law for a day or even a week. They would definitely have an attitude adjustment on who is the fascist.
The quality level of education at Berkeley is resounding here.
For the millionth time, Islam is NOT a race! You know where that thinking comes from? Extremist groups like the KKK and Black Panthers who thought that Jews were a race!
Rename it Sharia Law awareness week. That would hard-press the protesters. What would they say then–no ,us liberals want to be ruled a religion from the dark ages?
Michelle, I understand that HerWaldo Riverofliberalism said he’d like to spit on you?
Is this true?
If so, why is he NOT FIRED?
Comment #49 Tantor said:

Hey pin head. You are calling all of us in Vietnam dopey kids too. I was 18+2 months when I arrived in Nam & most were all “college” age.
We were not dopey kids and these college kids were not dopey. They were voting age ADULTS, FULLY RESPONSIBLE for their actions. They were not dopey pre teens.
These protestors got a lot us killed & crippled. They EMBOLDENED the Viet Cong & NVA as they are EMBOLDENING the terrorists.
Tantor what age do you have to be for you not to consider them dopey?
