They love to mock it, misspell it, and use it as some sort of debate-ending trump card.

I thought this line of attack had played out. But nutroots-panderer and Johnny-come-lately Keith Olbermann, parroting Media Matters, has picked up the meme.
He can barely contain his glee at referring to me as “Michelle MaglaGONG Malkin.” That is his answer to my column arguing that Hillary ought to pay closer attention to limited English-proficient donors in Chinatown forking out big bucks on dishwashers’ salaries.

Olbermann’s been reprimanded by the ADL for his Nazi remarks, he’s compared Fox News to the Klan, he’s made “chicken and waffles” cracks about black athletes, and his staff once confused Opio Sokoni with Malik Shabazz when he was commenting on your segments with them. And I’m not even getting into all the anti-woman stuff for which he’s famous. This mispronunciation is part of a pattern. And since your maiden name is spelled correctly at Wikipedia and at NNDB, there’s really no excuse for getting it wrong. Maybe he mispronounced it on purpose.

I guess we’re all supposed to believe that Nothing’s Beneath Keith, as a monumental figure in The Unhinged Community, has neither seen nor heard about the multitude of stereotypical Asian whore/Filipino mail-order bride insults directed at Michelle from the lefty blogosphere.
Those emails aren’t coming from Republicans, Keith — those are coming from liberal folk who — supposedly — think of any person with her distinctive Pacific Islander features as an equal in every respect. But when her contrary political and social views are made known, they turn on a dime, and out spews the filth about ping-pong balls, servicing sailors, and worse that can only come from persons who are only deluding themselves if they think they are truly tolerant.

It’s interesting that Olbermann thinks he knows what Republicans think of Filipinos (”[they] who would happily lump her in with the people in Chinatown”), but he cites no source. Hmmm. What is his point of reference besides the brain in his head that is fighting with his ego for space? And what does that say about what HE thinks of Filipinos?
Anyone who creates a segment called “Worst Person in the World” does not deserve his own television show; it shows a lack of maturity (ironic, eh, since he accused Glenn Beck of being immature) not to mention a hostility that really is better left off television. Maybe he should just call the segment “Poopyheads of the week”, since that would at least be honest to the level of sense Olbermann shows.
That being said, I would take such an accusation as the greatest honor in the world. To not be liked by Olbermann shows that you clearly must have a good head on your shoulders.

As a rule, I don’t watch MSNBC, so the first time I ever heard of Olbermann was when his name came up in discussion of the Frost family. Now that I have watched this clip of him, I can sleep easy knowing that I have not missed out on anything by not watching him.
That said, I just sent emails to both Countdown with Keith Olbermann and MSNBC TV in general letting them know that I was disgusted by the immaturity and low-level discourse of the WWPITW segment. Keith Olberman is right. I am a conservative Republican and I have been ethnically profiling Filipinos, singling them out for special attention. For example, I ethnically profile Filipinos whenever I need some lumpia, because they’re the only ones who’ve got it.
And, heck, I’ll admit that I’ve been ethnically profiling Michelle, pausing to watch her on TV when she appears, because she reminds me of those feisty little pinays back in Luzon, not just because she’s cute as a button. As for myself, the first time I encountered the name “Michelle Malkin” was while reading a link to one of her columns for Jewish World Review. Therefore my first mental picture of her was to imagine a middle-aged Jewish intellectual (perhaps a rabbi’s wife). Boy was I wrong.
