Hillary at Wellesley: Still babbling after all these years

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 2, 2007 09:10 AM

1well.jpg

Fresh from her illegal alien driver’s license bungle and the Democrat debate pile-on, Hillary sought refuge at her alma mater, Wellesley College yesterday. If the Associated Press account is to be believed (grain of salt always required when reading MSM political coverage), Hillary got her warm embrace:

Clinton spoke at Wellesley two days after a rocky debate performance in which she fought off criticism from six male presidential rivals. Thursday’s event had a decidedly “You go, girl” flavor, with reminders of the pioneering nature of her candidacy…At Wellesley, hundreds of students jammed a campus auditorium to see Clinton, many wearing T-shirts that said, “I can be president, too.” They danced in the aisles to songs like “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic” and a few shouted “We love you, Hillary!”

She’s playing the Poor Gal Card to the hilt, and her operatives are in full femme revenge mode:

Her comments at Wellesley and a new fundraising appeal from campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle suggested there was an element of sexism at play.

“On that stage in Philadelphia, we saw six against one. Candidates who had pledged the politics of hope practiced the politics of pile on instead,” Solis Doyle wrote. “Her opponents tried a whole host of attacks on Hillary. She is one strong woman. She came through it well. But Hillary’s going to need your help.”

Grrrrrrl Power!!!!

If there’s anyone who deserves blame (or credit?) for Clinton’s botched answer on the Spitzer, it’s Solis Doyle. She’s an open-borders activist who has yanked Clinton to the left after the candidate seemed to have a brief moment of clarity about border security in 2004.

Even Hillary acknowledges her own lifelong incoherence. Check out her comments about her Wellesely valedictory address:

She reminisced about delivering the commencement speech her senior year — a call for activism among young people that won national attention at the time.

Clinton winced remembering some of the flowery language she had used.

“I have to admit it wasn’t the most coherent address, and I sort of cringe when I read that I actually said things like ‘coming to terms with our humanness’ and ‘inauthentic reality,’” she said. “But I still believe as strongly today as I did then in my statement that politics is the art of making what appears to be impossible possible.”

If she’s still cringing over her 1969 remarks, I imagine she’ll be cringing over her big debate blunder for years to come–God willing, on a remote island and not in the White House.

Postscript: Guess that Wimmin Thang ain’t all it’s cracked up to be…

“We’re really excited that a Wellesley woman could be the first woman president. But people really like Obama, too. So there’s a need to do research,” said Eileen Crehan, a senior majoring in math and biology.

Postscript II: Obama chides Hill for using her chromosomes as a defense mechanism.

NYTimes coverage of the Grrrrl Power rally:

“So let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work together,” Mrs. Clinton told the cheering, standing-room-only crowd of more than 1,000 students in Wellesley’s Alumnae Hall. “We’re ready to shatter that highest glass ceiling.”

Many of the women wore T-shirts that proclaimed: “I can be president, too.”

Does this set off your B.S. alarm?

She recounted how after being admitted to both Harvard and Yale law schools, she attended a cocktail reception for prospective Harvard students and was introduced to a famous professor. “One of my friends said, ‘Professor So-and-So, this is Hillary Rodham, she’s trying to decide between us and our nearest competitor,’ ” Mrs. Clinton said. “And he looked down at me and he said, ‘Well, first, we don’t have a nearest competitor. And secondly, we don’t need any more women.”’

There were audible gasps from the audience.

“So,” Mrs. Clinton said, “I decided to go to Yale.” At that point the crowd broke out into laughter and applause.

The story is that she talked about policy. Not talking points, but policy. In talking about it she seemed, for the first time, to be revealing what’s inside.

It was startling. It’s 1993 in there. The year before her fall, and rise.

I spent a day going over the transcripts so I could quote at length, but her exchanges are all over, it’s a real Google-fest. Here, boiled down, is what she said.

Giving illegal immigrants drivers licenses makes sense because it makes sense, but she may not be for it, but undocumented workers should come out of the shadows, and it makes sense. Maybe she will increase the payroll tax on Social Security beyond its current $97,500 limit, to $200,000. Maybe not. Everybody knows what the possibilities are. She may or may not back a 4% federal surcharge on singles making $150,000 a year and couples making $200,000. She suggested she backed it, said she didn’t back it, she then called it a good start, or rather “I support and admire” the person proposing such a tax for his “willingness to take this on.”

She has been accused of doubletalk and she has denied it. And she is right. It was triple talk, quadruple talk, Olympic level nonresponsiveness. And it was, even for her, rather heavy and smug…What Mrs. Clinton revealed the other night was more than an unfortunate persona. What I think she revealed was that her baseline thinking has perhaps not changed that much since the 1990s, when she was a headband wearing, power suited, leftist-who-hadn’t-been-wounded-yet. It seemed to me she made it quite possible to assume you know who she’ll be making war on. And this–much more than the latest scandal, the Chinatown funny money and the bundling–could, and I think would, engender real opposition down the road. The big chink in her armor is not stylistic, it is about policy. It is about the great baseline question in all political life: Whose ox is being gored?

If this is how Wellesly prepared her to compete in the male dominated world, they failed. Her campaign advisers have been screaming since the debate that she was pig piled by everybody including her defenders in the press. What is she going to do against the Republican nominee? We have a “right wing conspiracy” and now a “left wing conspiracy”. Who is left to blame? The MSM is not taking well to her campaign attacking one of their own. If this were true, then why are we in the mess we are in? Politicians do not “fix” a dern thing. If anything, they make matters much worse.

Politics is the art of making the voters think we need $40 million in pork to pass a $120 million war funding bill.

It’s pretty clear from her hardball suppression of Bill’s bimbos to get Bill and her elected co-presidents that she’s part of the crew assaulting women. For Pete’s sake, she sent a thug to one of Bill’s girlfriends who told her to shut up or get her pretty little legs broken. Another woman harassed by Bill IN THE WHITE HOUSE had her cat killed by Hillary’s thugs. A jogger she never saw before stopped and asked her if she’d gotten the message yet.

And what about Juanita Broderick? Hillary was an accomplice after the fact to covering up her husband’s rape of her.

When Hillary claims that “politics is the art of making what appears to be impossible possible,” for her that has meant helping the main man in her life rape and pillage women in a manner reminiscent of Genghis Khan so that she could grasp power for herself.

I was able to catch the part of the debate from my hotel room when “she who must not be named” spoke out of both sides of her mouth at the same time. Blood is in the water and hopefully she will be torn to shreds finally. I was able to listen to Hannity talk with Newt and Fred about her on the drive home from our tour de Idaho (finally getting to see many of the sites of our beautiful state as part of our vacation for those who care Sun Valley and Ketchum are full of rude snobs and should be avoided). Newt moved her down from 80% to 50/50 for winning the Presidency with a lower ranking to come if this continues to grow legs.

One thing I have learned from my 50 years of observations of women she is more dangerous now that she has shot herself in the face. The upside is the mask has finally come off and many of the sheeple she counted on to vote for her can now she her for the hateful, spiteful, and lying woman she is. The war in Iraq is being won (casualties way down), Taliban fighters continue to die by the droves in Afghanistan, many Universities are being shown for the intolerant hot beds of liberalism they are, and the Democratic lead Congress is a do nothing organization all in all a pretty good news week. The Republic may have a fighting chance for survival yet!

As a female reader, I can categorically say that I’m not even sure why most of this country voted to return Mr. Clinton to office when he won his second term. We knew then all about his mental issues, his inner, demonic contempt for females to be used as he liked. How other women voters in this country could have voted for him was a mystery to me (and still is!) As for his WIFE, any woman that would put up with that for as long as she has shown another mental problem is at the core of her values — hold on for as much power as you can get. Her value system (no absolute right, no absolute wrong) compounds a terrible marriage. It sickens and saddens me that the voting public would put someone like that in a position of leadership.

As a voter and at times like this, with such utter evil in the world wanting to take what we’ve worked so hard to build, I’m going to vote for the person who I think is MOST mentally stable, a capable negotiator and decider, someone with real values (yes, there is such a thing as absolute right, absolute wrong)!

As a native of Chicago’s predominantly Mexican Pilsen neighborhood, Patti cares deeply about immigration, an issue she’s brought to the fore in this campaign. “It’s very personal for me,” she says. “As a community and as a culture, we provide so much richness to this country.” To understand her passion, one need only know the story of her parents, Santiago and Alejandrina. Born in Monterrey, Mexico, Santiago came to the States illegally in the early 1940s and was deported twice; after his third immigration, he got his visa and eventually brought over his wife and their four children.

    “cares deeply about ILLEGAL immigration”
    There - fixed it.

“after his third immigration ILLEGAL ENTRY”
    There - fixed it again.

With a father that determined to get into this country, despite our pesky laws, Patti is probably just as determined to have Hillary give licenses to illegal aliens.

Patty Solis is a TB-CW. And her “leader”, is one squared. Solis’ story is pathetic. Her father would be embarrassed to be patronized in a story like that. Hat in hand like some kind of beggar.

But that is exactly what Solis’ mindset is all about- entitlement. “Booooo Hooooo I grew up poor.” So did I. I just didn’t know it. Not as poor as my folks did. But we were- until my Dad and Mom finally broke out after 20 plus years of showing up everyday.

Now, let’s take a look at this absurd notion of “how much richness(put your ethnic group here)contribute to this country”.

This a statement filled with shame.

My GrandParents received political asylum following the first Mexican Revolution in the early 20th century. They and 7 of their 14 kids were naturalized. The other 7 were born here. One was my dad.

They NEVER said “Look at how much richness we contribute.” They worked as farm laborers, railroad car workers, loggers, cattle ranchers, restaurant workers. And they saved their money to start businesses and buy homes. The first generation (my dad) lived in barrios as kids- but all of them rose up out of that to become business owners or executive government officials.

Their motto wasn’t the ludicrous “Appreciate us. We do so much.” groveling.

The family motto is “Todos tienen su modo”. “Everything has its way.” That’s the literal meaning. The contextual meaning is “Pay attention. Learn to do it right. It will pay off in the end.”

Mexicans like Solis are filled with shame, so they keep this psychic accounting in their heads so they can be enough for the “gringos” who they assume hate them. Solis hates herself. So she is never enough.

I know what I am talking about, because I had to overcome this kind of crap at every turn of my life. It’s as if people expect a person of Mexican descent to BELIEVE what Solis believes.

Mexico abandoned its revolution and its people are ashamed across generations for it.

For those of us who lost land and family in that seriously understudied gory fight south of the border, we reject the shame because we paid our due.

This country offered those of us who were wise enough to respect the sovereignty of this country (that fought to win and keep it)opportunities that are far beyond the “give me what we deserve” mentality of the illegal alien criminal crossing the border.

One of the first generation, American born Chavez’ was my Uncle Frank. He was shot to pieces on Iwo Jima as a Corpsman medic. He didn’t do it because he had something to prove. He did it because he was an American son who believed what his country was doing was right. He volunteered.

I don’t know if Solis has the mindset to volunteer for anything. That age group “deserves” things. I know. Around the time Solis was in grade school I worked in the Pilsen District recruiting Latinos to attend a university in Southern Illinois. The mindset: “What can you offer me?”

Where is the richness in that?

The mindset is “entitlement”. And where there is “entitlement” mindsetting there is corruption and criminality.

So is it any surprise that they who cross illegally do not see themselves as criminals- even though, by their very act of crossing illegally, they are.

Ya, i got feelings about this.

    disaster.
