Manufacturing the news: ABC News hires actors to engage in homosexual PDA, provoke reaction
When you don’t feel like covering the news, you manfacture it. Remember the story I broke last spring about NBC News engineering a sting at NASCAR to try and expose fans as anti-Muslim bigots? Well, it looks like the dinosaur networks haven’t learned from the embarrassing backlash to that pathetic episode. Or Rathergate. Or Shattered Glass. Or Janet Cooke. Or Scott Thomas Beauchamp. Etc. etc. etc.
Now, according to the local Fox affiliate in Birmingham, Alabama, it looks like ABC News is engaging in media stage management and Theater of Journalism to expose anti-homosexual bigotry in the South:
ABC is doing a social experiment in Birmingham that includes having same-sex couples show affection for each other in public, according to Birmingham police department sources.
FOX6 first learned about this story from a Southside merchant who pointed out an RV parked at the corner of 20th Street and 11th Avenue South. The merchant said ABC was working on a week-long project to see how people would react to things like public displays of affection by gay and lesbian couples. A FOX6 news reporter approached the RV and talked with an “actor” who said, “Yes, we are working for ABC News.”
The “experiment” is apparently for ABC’s Primetime Live program, which is running a series of undercover stings titled “What Would You Do?”
Welcome to Serious Broadcast Journalism: If you can’t find the video you need to fit the P.C. left narrative, hire actors to make it happen.
Dinosaur network news motto: All the news that’s fit to stage.

Here’s more about “What Would You Do?” from a 2005 article on the ABC News site.
Flashback: News sting ideas of the day (these came in after the NASCAR/NBC debacle…feel free to send/add your suggestions for new ABC News ideas):
I wonder if they would consider sending a professor wearing an “I Love W” button and an American flag pin into the faculty lounge at Harvard or some other liberal ivory tower with a hidden camera. I would love to see that experiment. I can’t imagine anyone at NBC doing that one. Maybe John Stossel at ABC, though?
…Perhaps when I get back from deployment, you can follow me around Seattle and see how I get treated wearing my Navy uniform…
…Why don’t you set up some white guy with hidden cameras, put a George Bush T-Shirt on him and have him walk down a street in Pakistan. Or, better yet, have him walk down a street in Detroit. I’ll just bet you could get a lot of bigoted reactions…
…* Wear a pro-life t-shirt to a Women’s Studies class.
* Wear a Halliburton company polo shirt to the Kos Kidz annual blogmeet.
* PUBLISH CARTOONS WITH MOHAMMED IN THEM…

Damn skippy.
My worry here is that if no one says anything about this then the perverted PDA will be described as “acceptable” and that will give young impressionable minds the idea that this kind of behavior is “normal”.
Either way it’s a lose/lose for moral values.
This is just more proof that the “After the Ball” masterminds of the propagandist homosexual agenda, (namely, Kirk and Madsen) are relentlessly being carried out by the media.
Kirk and Madsen’s techniques of “desensitization,” “jamming,” and “conversion” are still in full swing against straight America.
Please see my post about this at Talk Wisdom.
Victor,
RE: “Something is very wrong here.”
I’ll say! Stacking the deck on a porn blog isn’t cool.
Why was it nominated in the first place? The liberal left loonie machine is at work in that one. Wonder how many cheat votes are in that tally.
Well, I really tried to pick out a few key phrases to emphasize your points, but the whole dang thing was good! Ergo, huge quote.
I, too, was raised (in Tennessee) in the most genteel way. If I didn’t behave like a lady, I was reprimanded, not only by my parents, but also by aunts, uncles, grandparents, the whole slew of them. And if the boys I dated did not conduct themselves as gentlemen, they had a whole lotta answering to do to my father. No, we
wereare not The Clampetts, and Li’l Abner was a cartoon.I now have one very handsome gentleman of a son, and a beautiful lady of a daughter. And I’m talking about inside, as well as out.
ATTENTION everbody reading this:
GO VOTE NOW!!! They let you vote once each day on any computer (e.g., desktop, laptop, home, work, library).
Michelle is also nominated for “Best Conservative Blog” HERE, with a much better chance of winning. Now running neck-and -neck with Ace of Spades.
You can vote once a day from all computers, until Thursday. DO IT!
The MSM creating fake news to boost ratings?Maybe the fake news they create is what has killed there ratings.I,for one stopped watching all those so-called on air news magazine shows years ago simply for that reason. While I suppose they occasionally do cover some actual news,it isn’t worth my time to sit through all the b.s to get to it.Similarly,I don’t even watch FOX much anymore because they spend so much time on inanities ,instead of reporting the real news. With all that can (and does) happen in the world why would a news service have to invent such nonsense? Probably easier and cheaper than sending real reporters out to cover real stories.
I hereby nominate this wonderful piece of documentry for the golden rasberry award for great insight to the discrimination faced by gays and their allies everywhere.
And presenting the award is dinnerjacket-ahab followed by a quick sharia execution with the bill for the cleaning of the ceremonial swords being sent to the dearly departed deceased’s family.
Now action in 3..2…1……

Remember the Maine was a manufactured news item that started a war. It was manufactured by William Randolph Hearst.
Just how clueless are they?
B-ham has a huge gay neighborhood and is seen as a city that is gay-friendly among similar-sized cities.
They could have just googled that or read some posts on city-data.com forums.
Sheesh.
I’m from Alabama myself, and I don’t care to see people kissing in public, regardless of who it is. People would have a reaction to 80 year olds making out in public too, but I don’t think that would constitute ageism.
As I’m trying to teach my six year old daughter - there’s a time and a place for everything. I enjoy kissing my wife and showing her affection, but I don’t do it outside “an RV parked at the corner of 20th Street and 11th Avenue South”.
Remember when we were told not to care what two people do in the privacy of their own bedroom?

Cheaper suggestion, just have the Detroit ABC affiliate pull the stunt in Dearbornistan. Ideally across the street from one of the mosques.
It’ll be a two-fer, fair and balanced vis a vis Christians & Moslems and the ‘haters’ would all be Americans.
