Another cross-dressing jihadist caught
Last summer, a Taliban leader was caught trying to escape the siege at the Red Mosque in Pakistan disguised in a burka.
Last spring, Afghan soldiers stopped another fleeing Taliban leader, Mullah Mamood, at a checkpoint wearing a burqa.
One of the 7/7 bombers in London was dressed in a burka and caught on security cameras, according to this British TV report.
A Somalian fugitive wanted for the murder of a policewoman escaped from Britain by disguising himself as a veiled Muslim woman.
Add a new incident to the list: According to a press release yesterday, our troops in Iraq nabbed another cross-dressing jihadist (hat tip – Kevin Gregory at McClatchy Watch) during an operation disrupting al Qaeda forces:
Coalition Forces killed eight terrorists and detained 10 suspects Tuesday during operations to disrupt al-Qaeda and foreign terrorist networks in central and northern Iraq.
Coalition forces targeted a suspected terrorist involved in planning improvised explosive device attacks and facilitating foreign terrorists during operations in Tuz, south of Kirkuk.
Reports indicate he was one of the chief planners for the suicide car bombing attacks July 16, killing more than 70 Iraqi people and injuring more than 130 in Kirkuk.
Upon arriving to the target area, the ground force saw three individuals evading Coalition forces and maneuvering south.
Coalition forces pursued the suspects into a tunnel system near a river. A fourth armed man engaged the ground force from a defensive position. Responding in self-defense, the ground force engaged and killed the terrorist with sniper fire. Coalition forces called for supporting aircraft to engage the enemy in the tunnels, killing two terrorists. Later, the assault force safely destroyed the tunnel system with an air strike to prevent further use by terrorists.
As the ground force secured the target area, they called for the occupants of a building to come out. A suspected terrorist, who came out with an unknown object above his head, was repeatedly told to drop the object. The individual did not comply and displayed hostile intent toward Coalition forces.
Responding in self defense, the ground force engaged with sniper fire, killing the terrorist. Another man dressed in women’s clothing, was apparently attempting to elude Coalition forces, he and another suspect were detained on site.

Instead of making these islamofascists wear women’s underwear on their heads (i.e. real torture according to liberals) just have them wear complete wardrobes of women’s clothing. If they seem to think that it is appropriate attire, how could the liberals possibly equate it to torture? But please, no Hillary mask; that would be torture to our troops who have to look at them!

This is one reason that women should be unveiled. You never know what you are dealing with until you can look it in the eye (or beyond the burka in this case).

I’m a security contractor over in Afghanistan. I have worn a burka on some of the longer road trips for the simple reason that it works. Seems the local see a burka in the back seat and just ignore it completely. At police checkpoint, they totally look past me (and the rilfe underneath). We have never gotten hit while dress as such, (at least not yet). Figured the bad guys would take the tactic, guess they assumed everybody was as sexist as them.
My local driver always felt this was wrong, that a real man would never wear a burka. Can’t wait to show him this. I have a feeling the locals will just assume it is ‘American Propaganda’ and ignore it completely. Thanks for the report.

Burkas are such a big hit in Islamic countries because they are buttonless, and easy to don. Convenient for when your male cousin cuts off your hands because you did not walk far enough behind him.

Allow me to hijack this link. At Midway a couple of weeks ago I was stopped and asked to remove my suit jacket by the individual manning the metal detector. I had kept it on after noticing an East Indian woman sail through security the next line over. This individual was wearing an elaborate pashmina shawl over a sari which, between the two articles of clothing, probably involved five times times the fabric of my jacket. We all know who won the ensuing loud and extended battle. Foreign nationals wearing traditional attire appear to be invisible to security. One could misplace a double-barrelled shotgun in the sari even without the pashmina.
This story takes me back to the woman who unsuccessfully demanded her drivers license photo show only her eyes, as her face and head was required to be covered. Thank heavens U.S. law doesn’t recognize sharia law. Yikes!
I’ve maintained that OBL has been able to move around freely in Afganistan and PPakistan in a extra long burka for years. Heck, why not? Right?

An Iranian expat told me a semi-humorous story about a young Iranian draft dodger who tried to flee to Pakistan during the Iraq/Iran war by donning a burqua and was caught because, while many Iranian women wear th chador and some are veiled, they do not wear the burqua.

I just sent Michelle some pictures of a male teen aged Taliban who was wearing a burka. The “kid” was able to get close enough to our convoy to set off a car bomb (VBIED) when it passed by one of our Humvees. The gunner ( a Captain who always took his turn in the turret) was injured, and awarded the Purple Heart. The Afghan National Army (ANA) spotted the “kid” and captured him. I hope Michelle uses the pics.????
