Nancy Pelosi brings out the White Flag again: Iraq withdrawal returns to the House floor

Code Pink is getting to “Madame Glam” Nancy Pelosi. She announced today that the House will debate Iraq troop withdrawals again:
Democrats controlling the House of Representatives will try again to bring American combat in Iraq to an end when it debates legislation this week tying new war funds to troop withdrawals, Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Thursday.
The legislation, similar to a bill President George W. Bush vetoed earlier this year, “gives voice to the concerns of the American people” over a war that is now in its fifth year and “with no light at the end of the tunnel,” Pelosi, a California Democrat, said.
As early as Friday, the House will debate the plan that would give Bush only $50 billion of the $196 billion in new funds he has asked for to continue fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. Most of the money would go to Iraq.
The House repeatedly this year has passed legislation aimed at ending the Iraq war, only to see it die in the Senate or killed by Bush.
Congress is expected to consider the rest of the funding sometime next year.
Pelosi said the money would fund the war for another four months. But as they have done in the past, House Democrats will try to attach conditions requiring the Pentagon to immediately begin withdrawing some of the 169,000 troops in Iraq and with the goal of completing the withdrawal by December, 2008.
Pelosi sidestepped a reporter’s question on whether congressional support for the idea has grown enough to overturn an inevitable veto by Bush.
Perhaps this is meant to assuage the impeachment mob. You cannot, however, assuage the un-assuageable.

Meantime, Bill Ardolino has interviewed senior military and intelligence officials for a comprehensive round-up explanation of “Why the violence has declined in Iraq.” The conclusion:
Officials are cautiously optimistic about the trends of the last two months, but they are quick to caveat the improvement in security. The long-term danger of an al Qaeda resurgence remains a possibility, as al Qaeda in Iraq remains a significant franchise of the broader terrorist network safely based in Pakistan, which it’s believed will attempt to resupply and redouble its efforts to destabilize Iraq. Officials stress that continued momentum is required to solidify gains, specifically maintained targeting of extremist groups, successful border interdiction, the official employment of a portion of CLCs in the Iraqi Security Forces and, most importantly, a mid-term commitment to American brokerage of reconciliation between the national government and tribal and former insurgent groups

The budget is critical to us because a lot of what the money goes for is funding projects that bolster local confidence in Iraqi Security Forces, as well as the Government of Iraq (this is a hard one). And, by the way, it costs a lot to do daily operations. Call your Representatives!

I’m sure you and the rest of us know what’s wrong with these people (and yes, I ask the same question). They put politics, which leads to power and control, above everything. I’m sure Soros and the other big money brokers are demanding this.
What is sickening about everything the treason-o-crats do is that the best interest of the United States and the American people do NOT matter to these people at all beyond votes and money. Hey, they love to claim everything is about “the children” but abortion on demand is sacred to the left.

We are almost at a work stoppage at our Wing due to funding restrictions during this Continuing Resolution Authority which runs out next Friday. Good to hear you guys are getting what you need over there, because it makes it a lot easier to suck it up and barely operate stateside. The upside our F-15 fleet is grounded due to required structural inspections after Missouri Air National Guard crash this weekend helping to keep some operating costs down. I love the way the liberals are showing their respect to our serving Military personnel and the memory of all those of us that have served in the past during this Veteran’s Day weekend.

What’s the issue sausage? It’s called financing the peace. We are spending alot on the “defense” of the EuroWeenies, the UN’s House of ill repute in Turtle Bay, and a heckuva lot on that house of chickensh*ts in the State Department.
We are wasting money on the Department of Education. We are wasting money on corn subsidies for ethanol because Al Gore said it was a holy thing to do.
The ROI on the war in Iraq is roughly 4 trillion gross. If Bush spends a trillion on the war, then I’d say that’s a good investment economically.
Payout a trillion to retool the Army, Navy and Marines. It’s still a good investment. Spend another trillion on military infrastructure, it’s still 100 per cent return on the money.
That ROI by the way creates tax revenue as part of the peace dividend that Pelosi Galore and Company can go out and spend on their socialist delusions of grandeur.
In the meantime, we clean out Persia for the last time and kill Bin Laden’s men.
In 8 short years, a “village idiot” (something the Moon Loons love to call Bush) President manages to do what the socialists in America haven;t been able to do in one single neighborhood in the US- remove the obstacles to freedom.

Prayer is the most powerful thing a God fearing citizen can do during war-time besides taking up arms and killing our enemies.
A Rosary is especially powerful because every bead has an intention attached to it. Yours. Mine. Ours. And every “Glory Be” in that rosary gives me a chance to ask for the utter defeat and destruction of our enemies- foreign and domestic.
Every “Our Father” in the Rosary (there are 8), is an opportunity to say to God Himself, that We, as a Nation, are willing to be guided by His Love to do what is right at great cost to ourselves.
And all of these prayers are devoted to the Mother of Jesus Christ, the Intercessor, the One Who Asks on our pathetic and humble behalf- to make it so in the eyes of Our Creator.

Running / Surrendering / or “redeploying” is the worst thing to do now for America and for Iraqis. Unfortunately, like the pork barrel spending (i.e. the water bill), it’s the best thing for Pelosi’s (soon to be over) career as Speaker. Her actions are those of a desperate politician. I just hope the traitor doesn’t end up getting a bunch of our boys killed.
I want to know why are they spending time on this when it’s almost the Veteran’s Day Weekend and they still haven’t passed the either the Defense or Veteran’s Benefits Appropriation Bills yet. So can some one please tell me exactly how they support the men and women in our military again??

I think Nancy believes she’s “falling behind the power curve.” The commanders in theater have already been discussing a troop draw-down for 2008, based on their assessment of the improved security situation and the ongoing hand-off of more responsibilities to the Iraqi army and police.
What Nancy and her fellow donkeys want is to still be able to take credit for the draw-down when it begins, and to portray it in terms of defeat and humiliation instead of success. Always with an eye on motivating/placating their base voters, dontcha know.
BTW, totally off-topic, but that’s a fine picture of you (scroll down a bit) in that 2008 calendar… you still look like the kind of young lady I wish I’d have met in college or law school. [sigh] Oh, well. Guess I’ll have to fork over $25, hmm?

Well, at least that bunch in Congress wasn’t around during WW2. This site wouldn’t be here. Michelle, as well as my wife, would be speaking Japanese. Congress would be asking Germany if it was okay to pass a child health bill. German, instead of Spanish, would be the 2nd language.
