Another jihadi mass slaughter of innocent schoolchildren

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 9, 2007 01:56 PM

From Beslan to Baghlan

Dozens of schoolchildren and five teachers were among those killed in a suicide attack in northern Afghanistan earlier this week — the country’s deadliest since the fall of the Taliban — the government said Friday.

The 59 schoolchildren had lined up to greet a group of lawmakers visiting a sugar factory in the northern province of Baghlan on Tuesday when a suicide bomber detonated explosives.

“The education minister has ordered that no children should be ever again be used in these sort of events,” said Zahoor Afghan, an Education Ministry spokesman. He said the children ranged in age from 8 to 18.

In all, the explosion claimed the lives at least 75 people, including several parliamentarians, and wounded 96. It was the deadliest attack in the country since the toppling of Taliban regime from power in the 2001 U.S.-led invasion.

BBC reports that ball bearings were mixed with the explosives.

Monstrous evil. Crickets chirp.

Our human rights activists are preoccupied with other theatrical priorities.

No big deal – I had fun shopping and wrapping. Maybe a certain someone could shut up and start shopping.

I am not religious – haven’t been to church since I was 18 (more than 40 years ago). But I deeply respect the values I learned.

I know I’m all excited to see chapter and verse where Jesus has his press secretary issue the talking points on these things and others – like “do the Vikings have a chance against the Pack this Sunday?” or maybe a really good BBQ recipe.

Although I must say I’m encouraged at all the fringe left lunatics who’ve suddenly become such true believers in upholding the Bible as God’s Infallible Word! Of course, now they just gotta actually read it and they’ll be on the right step to having some idea what they’re talking about.

And, laddie, if Hiroshima is problematic to you, you might wanna skip parts where whole cities are nuked off the face of the earth. Sodom and Gomorrah was the first “Manhattan Project in action” and Jesus dropped those bombs.

Of course since you now take the Bible as the dependable source of all truth, you’ll agree with Jesus that, what with the cities’ major GLBT scene, they really had it coming.

Hey Sothernboy,,,,When you talk about Born Again Christians get your facts straight. I seriously doubt that the born agains lead the world in murdering innocents. When you ask “What would Jesus Bomb or “Who would Jesus Bomb” you have to realize that He was against all sin. He also said that there would be wars and rumors of wars. He also did not tell us to lay down and let our enemies just walk over us. He said to preach the gospel in all the lands and not to fall for any false religions. Its obvious that Islam comes from the father of lies. Those atrocities that you mentioned that Christians do probably were in name only and they did not have a personal relationship with the Lord. Yes, Southern boy don’t expect the Muslims to lay down like sheep anytime soon. They will attack and attack until they achieve their goals.

Lots of warfare in the Old Testament, and unless one succumbs to Marcionism (e.i., ignoring the Old Testament altogether), one is forced to conclude tat warfare is not prohibited.

There is room to argue against the targeting of civilians as part of our campaign against Japan, but you are hurting your argument by lumping Afghanistan and Iraq in together with them. Also, what the heck was the abortion reference about? Kindly explain.

With the Beslan massacre there was international condemnation. There was also news coverage by the MSM.

Here, we have dozens of school children massacred through an equally fiendish plot. Where is the outrage? Not just from the MSM, but where is the outrage in the Islamic world?

Is this not news, or is the MSM’s fear that reporting on a massacre of children might actually reveal that we are indeed fighting a war on terror?

John Kerry was criticized because he was slow to get a public statement out on Beslan. Has any candidate gone on record regarding this tragedy?

While there are people that may not like George Bush, no one who claims to be part of the human race can sit silently by without at least publically condemning this incident. In this case, their silence only aids and abets the perpetrators, and encourages more acts just like it. Those who remain silent on this are accomplices in any future acts.

Indeed, it isn’t. As a matter of fact, it is impossible to change one’s corrupt nature unless God does it for you, out of his unconditional love for those he has chosen. ;)

It means I am a Calvinist. “Reformed” indicates the Augustinian-Calvinist school of thought, as opposed to the semi-Pelagian/Arminianism school of thought. All true, non-liberal (unlike those heretics in the PCUSA*) Prebyterians are Reformed, not all folks in the Reformed community are Presbyterians – Some are/were congregationalists (like the New England Puritans), some are Baptists, etc. TULIP (total depravity, unconditional love, limited atonement, irresistable grace, perseverance of the saints) is the distinguishing feature of our theology.

*There are still some Christians left in the PCUSA, but the denomination as a whole can safely be considered heretical, I think.

    Brooklyn red,

We get at the disease when we first actually realize this is a war and then act like we are at war.

War is not pretty and is not politically correct. Yet, we have expanded the Geneva Conventions to cover terrorists. Under the Conventions, those people had no rights, and could have been summarily executed as spies.

War means adopting a “them or us” mentality. One side will lose, and the victor will impose its will on the loser. Most people in the US have never considered the consequences to not only the US but them personally if we lose this war.

War means aggressively prosecuting the crimes of espionage, sedition and treason. To date, we have actually gone in the opposite direction, allowing the enemy to establish a solid foothold in the US and have allowed them to bully us with our own laws into letting them flourish.

War means having the will and resolve to win. There is a substantial population in the US, blinded either by partisanship or their dislike of the current administration, that has developed the will to LOSE. This group includes those who would exit Iraq now. We can debate the issue of going to war with Iraq in the first place, but that has nothing to do with the issue we should be discussing – what happens if we retreat?

Retreat will not only embolden our enemies, it will surely result in genocide the likes of which we have not seen since the “end” of Vietnam. We will allow our enemy to firmly establish itself as the power in the middle east, and will be faced with an enemy in the near future that is 100 times more lethal than the one we are dealing with now.

UNfortunately, I do not see the US being prepared to really treat this as a war, at least until it is almost too late to counter the threat. Perhaps Bin Laden fulfilling his promise to kill 4 million Americans will do it; perhaps multiple attacks involving the liberal bastions in the US that make 9/11 look like a picnic; perhaps an attack that cripples our infrastructure for years to come.

What people don’t seem to realize is that Beslan and now the slaughter of children in Afghanistan are warm ups. If the terrorists can carry out such an act here, they will do it. And there is ample evidence that they are “probing” to do just that.

We get at the disease by going to war. What we are doing now bears no resemblence to a nation at war, or a nation committed to win.
