Cakeblogging
My son’s birthday party was today. He asked for a Spiderman cake. I gave it my best shot, with help from a Wilton’s mold:

Our six-year-old grandson is another fan of Spidey and would love such a cake. Good for you for making time in your busy schedule to be a cake-baking Mom!
Happy Birthday!! Cake looks good. Enjoy!! And have many more birthdays too.
‘Tis a fine cake, Worthy of Spider-man. You send my slice in the mail!
how cool is that?!!!
WOW! You made that yourself? I didn’t know people did that anymore. Color me impressed.
Happy Birthday to your boy.
Back when Barney was so popular, I must have baked 10 of them for friends with kids. My kitchen counter turned pink! Thank goodness for BarKeeper’s friend.
Great job, Michelle.
I used to work for Marvel…
let me know if you want some spidey stuff…
Uhhh hostess only please.
Michelle, great job…. you’re hired. Oh I forgot my son is 29. Never mind.
Very cool.
Good for you. A real conservative, a real patriot, a real working and patriotic American, and most of all..A REAL MOM.
A rarity in todays world, bless you and your family.
It reminds me of all my mom would do for me. Ahhh the good old days, they’re not gone yet.
.
p.s. Your parents must have done something right as well. Tell ‘em so for me/us,OK?
Michelle, feebiebabe is looking for a wedding cake maker.
I want A SpongeBOB Squarepants cake for my birthday. It should be easier to make than Spiderman.
Happy Birthday young Mr. Malkin! And God Bless you
My Spidey sense is telling me that it’s a chocolate cake under all that yummy frosting.
If I send a self addressed, stamped envelope will you stuff a piece in there for me?
yummy
Happy Birthday to your son.
It is a real blessing to be wished by so many of us
Happy Birthday!!
Good job on the cake.
Today is my 5 year old son’s birthday party too. He’s not getting anything quite so fancy.
Awesome cake.
You’re such a super-mom, you should wear a cape.
It’s a good thing you didn’t do the Darth Vader cake. Our lips and teeth were stained black and blue from the icing when my wife made it some years back! You did a good job on yours, Michelle!
Obviously, that would be because of the Dark Side Of The Force.
Great cake, Michelle.
Awesome cake Michelle. I bet your son went nuts over it.
Happy birthday to your son. The cake looks super!
Ahhhhh- ha! Another Scorpion brotha completes one more year of life.
And he is a Spidey fan to boot!
Rock on!
Nice job on the cake.
Yay Mommy!!!!
Cool cake!
I’ve been dying to take the Wilton cake decorating class. I watch Food Network and dream of being a master pastry chef.
PS: Happy Anniversary, Michelle.
I’ve baked my share of Birthday cakes and that one’s pretty cool.
Mom points for you Michelle. Spidey struck me as a straight shooter and a good role model.
That cake makes my Spidey Sense tingle.
Wow, that icing doesn’t look like its an easy job. I worked in a bakery back in high school, and was always amazed at how easy the pros made it look. Smooth icing is very difficult. Nice work.
One of my favorite birthday traditions is that I make whatever cake the birthday child chooses (no matter how outrageous). As a fellow working mom, I appreciate the time and effort you put into that cake, Mrs. Malkin! Although my 3 sons are several years older than your boy, I do miss the Superhero requests. Great memories…
Looks like you made a pretty serious carbon footprint there, Michelle - major fat calories, carbohydrates, cholesterol…..I’m hungry!
Way to go Michelle. Nice job.
Your our SuperHero……….Michelle
God Bless you and your family….
Real cool cake.Happy Birthday, young Mr. Malkin-you’ve got a great mom.
Way Cool Michelle..the “little Malkin”
probably had a smile as big as
“WOW!..Thanks Mom”.. The things greatness are made of….
Almost too cool to eat!
I wondered why you were so quiet on your blog today. Great reason! I reiterate the compliments, birthday wishes, and blessings written above.
Spider-Man wouldn’t stop to check if a victim of a crime was an illegal immigrant before rescuing him or her.
This is no hero to be celebrated, this is commie brainwashing propaganda created by liberals to indoctrinate our kids. I am disappointed.
Good taste…Spidey is the best. But it looks disturbingly sweet.
I was wrong. Silly me, I thought this must be one thread into which southernboy could not interject his inane comments.
Our opposition to the criminal illegal invasion must not stop, ever.
The only one getting fed on this here cake thread should be young master Malkin.
Happy birthday, kiddo.
MIchelle, Love the Spidey Cake. Great Job.
AJ - I thought you were making me my cake?
A Malkin B-day cake of choice: truth, justice & the American way!!!
I love it!!!!!
I hope your son enjoyed his day!
Only if he knew you were comin’…
southernbot, you are one strange cookie. IMHO of course.
Coming from SouthernBoy, it reminds me of one those cyborgs that’s been lunked in the head with a brick.
The boys biscuits been shorted out.
southern boy:
“criminal illegal invasion” ??? sounds kinky… really, criminal by what standard? The UN’s ?? lol
Invasion of what? Are we still talking Iraq??? I am confused… (
go on take the bait)
southernbot
He’s had it rough, just look.
tough life
Aj-
I was born in Virginia. My dad retired there. I’ve seen this very pic on post office walls down there! OMG!
with,
“WANTED”
underneath?
Is the cake white, yellow or chocolate?
Great birthday gift from mom Malkin!
I Like Cake!
Not a bad job of decorating Michelle and the most important thing is it is made with lots of love. A belated Happy Birthday to the little guy.
Great job Michelle. Plus you’ve created a memory that will last a lifetime. Priceless.
Happy Belated Birthday little one.
SB, a simple Happy B-day would have been sufficient.
Better late than never!
Belated good wishes! (You young Moms are amazing.)
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Cake blogging!
In an effort to make sure that sanity has the last word here,
Michelle —
THAT CAKE ROCKS!!!!
From a fellow baked goods decorator, Spidey is one tough mug for frosting, and you pulled it off in spectacular form.
