More Veterans Day obnoxiousness
Update 7:44pm Eastern. Michael Graham was at the Boston Veterans Day parade and files an eyewitness report.
Update 7:30pm Eastern: Another outbreak of Veterans Day anti-troop unhingedness for the moonbat hall of shame (via reader Anthony):
Almost as soon as Ann and Don Bender marked the 4th of July by planting a field of more than 3,500 flags — one for each of the American troops killed in Iraq— the elements began to take a toll. The baking sun and sudden storms of a Great Plains summer left the little flagsticks warped and broken and the fabric bleached and torn.
Ninety years of battlefield portraits taken by the greatest combat photographers of all time
But that was nothing compared to the damage done in the dark hours of Sunday morning by vandals who kicked down thousands of the flags and left behind a cardboard sign with a single word splattered in red spray paint: “MURDERERS.”

Let’s see. So far this Veterans Day holiday, we’ve highlighted newspaper editors defending snit fits against an American soldier in Iraq and moonbats using kids as human shields to block military cargo shipments to and from Iraq. Completing an unhinged trifecta, here’s a story out of Boston on a disruption today at the annual Veterans Day parade by anti-war protesters:
More than a dozen members of an antiwar veterans group were arrested yesterday as they protested the exclusion of their message from Boston’s Veterans Day parade.
Members of Veterans for Peace lined up in front of a podium at City Hall Plaza holding antiwar placards, as color guards from Massachusetts military units and JROTC bands from across the state filed into Government Center for a ceremony, sponsored by the American Legion, to honor veterans after the parade. Some protesters wore gags, which they later said symbolized the fact that, while they were permitted to march in the parade, they were prevented from carrying signs opposing the war in Iraq.
“We were exercising our First Amendment rights,” said Winston Warfield of Dorchester, a member of the group. “The First Amendment protects free speech, even when you don’t agree with what’s being said.
Don’t these people have enough of their own damned parades
without having to ruin everyone else’s?
See what others have said

#13 On-my-soap-box:
Looks like folks took your advice.
Haven’t noticed Polly Parrot latlely.
(relief)
Thank everyone who is serving or has ever
served in our military whether here, on the ocean or on foreign soil! As one of my sisters said today,
it takes a much more special person to actually
put his or her life on the line for this country than to sit around griping about the country. I say that
on Veteran’s Day, if you cannot appreciate what
someone has done for you, keep your mouth shut!
shhh Granite. its past his bed time, don’t wake him.
AJ – we are still down by 17 but we movin the ball now. Please niners…don’t do this on nat’l tv!!!!
Amen Ms. TXRose!
I would think that trees would be a very likely place to find a bunch of nuts like these.
AJ #28, I tried to keep up with all the threads yesterday and today. Were you being naughty yesterday? I sincerely hope so, someone has to keep this motley crew in line.
BTW, I’ve forgiven the Cowboys. Don’t want to spank them anymore, since they won last night. The 9iners, I could cry. They’ll be back hard and strong in 2 years or more. When I lived in Calif. they were my favorite team.
Hope all the vets had a pleasant and relaxing day. For the rest of us, it should be a day to honor those living, remember those lost, and thank God we have future generations that will choose to serve. Forget about the morons falling out of trees, we are blessed by heros.
I can’t speak for all veterans but this old soldier wants you all to know that I appreciate your kind words. Even though we fought for all Americans, it’s people like you on this board that make it all worthwhile.
Desertlover and I were talking about our experiences last week over dinner and we agreed that the bond formed by fighting in life or death combat is so strong that, in some cases, it’s stronger than the bond between family members. I hope this doesn’t sound arrogant but unless you’ve experienced the adrenalin rush of combat, it’s probably not something you can understand.
Thanks again. I will never forget and I will never surrender.
Fox 11 Los Angeles chose today, of all days, to air this infamous Simpsons episode
Something tells me it wasn’t by chance either.
This veteran thanks you all for your kind words.
Trinitytim~if your wife can fatten you up, I need some tips from her. NOTHING works to fatten up The Man. It’s obscene how much he can eat, but maybe it’s just the PT.
I would like to second trinitytim’s comments in #112 and say thanks to all of you here that make all that we vets have gone through in the past worthwhile and give us hope for the future ….
Semper Fi and God Bless America
Lousy parasites.
No one in their right mind would choose to show up and listen to their “message,” so they try to hijack a memorial event for fallen veterans and hold the people’s attention hostage.
You’d have to dig a hole to China to get any lower.
I went to Boise yesterday to participate in the 21 gun salute at BSU. It was a dignified ceremony with cold weather and threatening rain keeping the crowd small (mostly veterans and their families). Had a great time and spent most of the day in the city before heading home too late to see what was going on in the world.
Not surprised by the BS by those on the left that support the troops by interfering with the transport of war supplies. Now that this country has an Attorney General it is time to send out the forces of the DOJ with a subpoena issued for each one of these traitors participating in seditious acts against the operation of the Military during a time of war. They can then be stripped of their citizenship and deported to a country of their choice or one that will take them since they can’t stand living in the oppressive United States of America. Better yet we can send them down to the Southern border to pick-up all the trash the illegal invaders leave destroying the environment and then deported.
It’s time to start incarcerating those who vandalize or otherwise break the law. And if the local enforcement won’t do the job, bring in federals!
mycroft69,

To all who have thanked all of us who served, I hope I speak for my fellow veterans when I say ” Thank you and was my honor to have served”.
What a bunch of crap! If I protested about, say HOMOSEXUALITY, I bet Mr. Warfield would have a different take on interpreting the First Amendment.
Either way, we know from his actions he doesn’t appreciate our military. A day in the life of sharia law might change his misguided point of view.
What pisses me off the most about these “veterans against the war” (read: just about anywar since Vietnam), is the fact that they ignore the reality of modern day Ottomans. That we were attacked by radical Islamic pigs who want everyone to bow to Mecca, and will use widespread terrorism to do it, is inconsequential to these “veterans”. Why in the f**k do they think “pulling out the troops” and capitulating to al Qaeda and the Taliban, especially while we’re kicking their ass, is going to convince the Islamofascists to make nice and stop with the terrorism? Iraq War vets like me, are confronting these abject losers. “Veterans for peace”, my ass. Who’s “peace” and at what price?
