Open-borders Democrats mad at…open-borders Democrats
Too bad there’s no audio/video of this blue-on-blue battle that took place on the House floor on Friday afternoon, via CQPolitics. The set-up: Hispanic lawmakers were mad at Democrats who voted in favor of a non-binding Republican motion instructing House conferees on an appropriations bill to accept a Senate-passed provision banning the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission from suing employers over certain English-speaking requirements. In retaliation, the open-borders coalition of Hispanic Democrats initially voted to sink a major tax bill. C-SPAN microphones didn’t pick up the spat on the House floor, but here’s the roiling recap:
Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus said Thursday night’s vote was their breaking point. They retaliated by initially voting against the rule allowing debate of the tax bill, very nearly sinking the measure and prompting a fiery exchange on the floor.
Hoyer was toe-to-toe with the much shorter Joe Baca , D-Calif., chairman of the Hispanic caucus. According to one Hispanic Democrat, Hoyer jabbed his finger at Baca and yelled, “How dare you destroy this party? This will be the worst loss in 10 years.”
That same Hispanic lawmaker reported that Pelosi said, “You see this on the board? This is against me, this is against me personally.”
The Hoyer and Pelosi comments were part of private conversations, not audible in the press gallery above the chamber or captured by C-SPAN microphones.
Ultimately, enough members of the Hispanic caucus switched their votes to ensure adoption of the rule. They said they had made their point.
But it was clear there would be plenty more discussions in the future.
The LA Times also picks up on the kerfuffle.
Politics of pile-on, play on.

Reality Check: Dems are not your friends! Wake up and smell the cafe!
More Dem vs. Dem? Wow, what a fun news day!
Maybe Pelosi and company are getting a taste of what it will be like when the Hispanic Caucus is in the majority. Drivers licenses for illegals, allowing millions to vote, would be a good start toward that day, when no one named “Pelosi” will ever get elected over someone with a Hispanic name. Invasion complete.
Wait a minute! Dems working on a holiday?! Oh, it’s Veterans’ Day. My mistake.
Hispanic caucus so they don’t even call themselves American lawmakers anymore..they are not even pretending to be for the United States of America. Just a “faction” who happen to be residing in America?
I can just picture Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi waiting at the day labor site.
Reminds me of a bunch of kids…”Don’t touch my toy”. “You touched my toy!!”. “I’m going to touch yours!”
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could do that – literally.
How does anyone take them seriously?
Move over bacon, now there’s something meatier…
It’s splitsville for the Democaratic party…one piece of thread at a time.
Michelle, it should be, “¿Que pasa?”
Does that mean he stuck him in the eye?
Oucheewahwah!
Ha!
Pelosi disagreed with the Hispanic lawmakers… racist!
Here in California, USA I have had a tough time finding employment because I am not ‘bi-lingual’. I’ve also noticed that when a business promotes a hispanic person to management, within a year, everyone working in their department is hispanic. They are taking over our country from the inside out. They are not becoming Americans. Non-hispanics are being discriminated against, and it certainly doesn’t help that the pc crowd is blind to it. Take back America! Yes we can!
This is great political theater however it is also a side show. I have to give Michelle credit because in the summer she zeroed in on two votes that are a big deal, huge deal. They are a huge deal not only as a policy matter but as a political matter.
There were two amendments that most Dems, including Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, voted against. One would have merely affirmed that we would enforce all the laws already on the books. It is surreal that any legislator vote against affirming that prior legislation be enforced. If legislation doesn’t get enforced, then it is pointless to make it into law.
The other amendment would have barred terrorists, gang members and other criminals from entering the country. I have no idea how anyone could vote against this.
It should also be noted that Hillary and Obama didn’t vote at all when the sanctuary city bill came up and voted for DREAM Act.
As a result, I now consider both full fledged open borders legislators.
gee … brings back childhood memories of MAD Magazine and “Spy vs. Spy” …

Bridget the PC crowd are not blind to it they are complict.
at this rate soon the Big Tent Party for all its proclamations of being so inclusive will have enough defectors to become an Empty Tent …
Well … I can dream can’t I?
Bullseye!
Dissention among the ranks….Dems at each others throats, oh, the poetic justice of it all….
I’ve been asked about this on many CA employment applications.
Less and less people speak english in California, more and more California Natives are required/preferred to be bilingual as a job requirement.
Example, workers compensation claims adjusters. Spanish is VERY highly recommended for these positions because there are workers in California that don’t speak English.
If you are bi-lingual you most certainly will have the shoe in for the position over an English only speaker.
Just sayin’….
Raging:
Robinhood that bullseye!
Where is that Faux new alert?
Less and less people speak english in California, more and more California
NativesRESIDENTS and JOB SEEKERS are required/preferred to be bilingual as a job requirement.Need to correct that one.
Illegal immigration is going to be the great wedge issue in the next election that shakes up both parties.
Oh, yeaaaaaaaa
I’m in the dog house sulking.
Maybe I’m way off base here, but it seems to me this bru-ha-ha between factions within the Democrat Party is less political, and more about race. Am I wrong?
Why else does the Hispanic Caucus come out against anti-illegal immigration proposals (if for no other reason) because their perception is that it is anti-hispanic? It sure seems that it is not as simple as “America First” anymore, but “my race first.”
Regarding her picture: Is it just me or does Pelosi look like she’s trying to use mind control?
Not tying to be “CATty” here, but its too much Botox.
Meow!
Less and less people speak english in California, more and more California Natives are required/preferred to be bilingual as a job requirement.Menos y menos gente hablan ingles en California, mas y mas residentes de California y busquedoras de trabajo estan obligados ser bilingue como reqisito de trabajo.
There, that fixes it how the Democrats want it.
How dare he talk BACCA to San Fran Nan!!!
There’s your ‘powerful leader’ folks. She’s in charge and she’s taking votes on the floor as ‘personally hurting her feelings’. I’m not against woman leadership (I love and adore strong and smart women), but this would be an argument against it.
I’m not a body language expert, although I read people pretty well, and in my experience as a police officer, when people (who are lying) try to express ignorance, or try to convince you they have a contrary position, they tend to exaggerate their facial expressions.
Some of the more common expressions are: wide-eyed, which means “I have nothing to hide!”; and, wide-eyed combined with a smirk, meaning “how dare you question my veracity!”
I would be nice to put some of these politicians on a voice stress anaylizer and see what happens.

This is alarmism. We have a couple hispanic people in management at my company, and their departments have not changed in ethnic make-up in the 4 years I’ve been with the company.
lol, the would electrocute themselves.
That’s what I like to see. Lets get the Dems to fight among themselves on this.
Surely not! Not from people whose motto is “For The Race everything. Outside The Race, nothing.”
The Ayran Nation people must be wondering why they can’t get away with this sort of thing.
Sigh, all of this ME, ME, ME, MINE, MINE, MINE, MY RACE, MY WAY, MY PORK PROJECT, MY CONCERS, attitude will wreck, well already has Wrecked this nation. What ever happend to the greater good, for the people and the Nation. Today most people only care about getting Retirement and the “Gubament” paying for everything from Health care to housing. Least polls and Political Ads point that way.
Just Greed, for each Person and Race. Give ME what I want and Screw you if you think otherwise. E Pluribus Unum is truely Dead. At least the Hispanic Caucus threw away its Mask and has came out to admit it.
I think Democrats are the embodiment of evil. They are incapable of doing what’s right. Of course the same goes for about 2/3 of Republicans too!
Maybe, our congressional representsatives with a European heritage should form a Congressional White Caucus, and open up the race and prejudice discussion, once and for all.
It is, and has not been, about being simply “an American” for quite some time. I hope I live to see the day that perceived victimhood doesn’t qualify one for a “special” club. America, and Americans first!
To repeat my oft stated nit-pick desire here … let’s put an end to the Hyphenated-American … you are either an American or you are not an American … regardless of your ethnic background … American First … Ethnicity Second … period, exclamation point, end of discussion.

I have a friend who was harrassed into leaving his job - and has the tape recording to prove it. After he quit, he asked his boss (hispanic) why he’d made life so miserable for him - answer? you’re not one of “us”.
Try to get a job in one of the fast food restaurants if you aren’t hispanic. I know - who wants to work in a fast food restaurant - but there are _no_ non-hispanics in most of the ones we deal with (business basis). My guess is that if you aren’t one of “them”, you don’t get hired - even if you’re bilingual.
Non-binding resolutions. Investigaions. Hearings. As the list of Congress’s failures grows:
No energy bill
No action on health care
No action on the mortgage crisis
No immigration reform
No progress on renewing No Child Left Behind
Precious little action on judges
Not enough on reducing trade barriers

My point, EXACTLY! Unfortunately, it is their ethnic heritage that gets these people elected in the first place, and they are always the first ones to bring race into any argument.
I can’t tell you how many times over the years, when, as a policeman, I affected a car stop, not knowing what “race” was behind the wheel, and upon first contact I was met with the phrase, “The ONLY reason you stopped me, was because I’m ______! (Fill in the blank.) Only people from two ethnic backgrounds EVER gave me any grief for doing my job! EVER!!
Like you, DesertLover, I only want to see Americans! Racism, and bigotry sicken me, but it always seems to be the first card played by these “victims.”

My pleasure … that is an issue that divides us that I want to see put to an end … Ask someone in the military what he sees when he looks at the guy beside him when under fire … he sees his buddy … his fellow Marine, Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Etc. … he sees a fellow American … no hyphens …
Amen, brother! Semper Fi
I think you are right. It isn’t the United States of America anymore. It’s the United States of Diversity, and E Pluribus Unum (Out of Many, ONE) has become E Unum Pluribus — out of one, many!

I just listened to the youtube clip referenced by Speakup, and I still don’t know what he was trying to say except, “We’re coming!” and “Si se puede!”
Okay, you’re coming, you’re here already, “yes you can” and then what?
(Can you believe he referenced Paul Revere’s ride and call to arms, to warn us [non-latinos] about the coming latino invasion?” Take over all government offices through elections, and then what?
Force all non-latinos out of California? Then what? Secede from the union, and ask for foreign aid?
Or better yet, secede, declare all private companies now property of the state (a la Venezula’s Chavez), create a bigger nanny state, and then demand foreign aid or else!
Or else you do the same to all the southwestern states? But you do it anyway, and then what? Ay carumba!
Anyone care to have another look at Tancredo…
Nice screencap, boy, if Pelosie has one more face lift… well, never mind.
What? No wonder people are apathetic about politics—that was totally incomprehensible.
Personally, I’m hoping to see even more infighting on the left. I’d like to see some illegals start applying for the jobs that the WGA walked out on. Hey, the illegals would only be doing a job that Americans aren’t willing to do, right? Remember, it’s not the job, but the pay of the job and benefits, isn’t that what the strike is all about? This all spells out a recipe for a good infighting.
All they’re qualified to do is to spread manure. That’s what they do now.
feebie, she’s had those upper eyelids tucked one too many times.
My company was taken to court in the early nineties because one
department had two hispanic women that spoke spanish to each
other often yelling it across the office. When they were told for the
third time, that the next time they would be let go because they
were making everyone else uncomfortable, they got an ambulance
chasing lawyer that advertises on tv and he took the company to
court for discrimination. Luckily, when the judge heard the
circumstances, the case was thrown out. Probably would have been
heard today.
