A grim milestone ignored

The establishment media is seemingly obsessed with “grim milestones” in the War on Terror, as the Associated Press reminds us this past weekend. But in the next week those same establishment media outlets will probably stand mute when yet another “grim milestone” is reached – the10,000th attack by Islamic terrorists and militants since 9/11, which is responsible for approximately 60,000 dead and 90,000 injured.
The chronicler of this bloody tally is Glen Reinsford, editor of TheReligionofPeace.com, who began compiling and updating daily a detailed list of reported incidents of violence and terrorism around the world targeting non-Muslims and Muslims alike. Because of space limitations he only posts the past two months worth of attacks on his websites main page, though he has archived all of the incidents from past years (2001-2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007). He also maintains a banner graphic with the updated number of attacks, which people can post on their own websites.
When asked what prompted him to begin such a labor-intensive undertaking, Reinsford identifies the tepid response to Islamic terrorism by otherwise outspoken Muslim groups, with one organization particularly in mind:

Islam does not divide between religion and polticial philosophy. It is one and the same, therefore, it is not really a religion; and is not compatible with our constitution. Islam should not be considered a religion and must be handled as a political philosophy. If our government would begin to realize that it is a political invasion devised to overthrow our government we would be better able to control the potential terror threat.
Clearly, there are two invasions occuring in the United States from Mexico and Islam. If you don’t think it is an invasion, just try and stop it!
Time for the MSM to hide another news-worthy story in favor of a story about melting glaciers and the evil American war-mogers behind it all.

Notice, too, how often al-Reuters will post the number of civilians (including terrorists) killed by Israel while neglecting to point out the rat poisoned, rusty-nail-laden suicide bombs at pizza joints, bus stops, and night clubs.

I am curious if this number includes (and mostly) counts the attacks inside Iraq. While not discounting those attacks, the left response will always be, “if we weren’t there”.

The count should be prefaced with the wrods At least, since who knows how many people are being attacked in areas where the police and news coverage are non-existant.

The Dems keep crying out for a “change of course.” How about they change their course and side with the rest of America for once regarding the war and enemy we are facing.
These statistics are grim indeed, but for those of us who haven’t had our heads stuck in the sand (and other places) these past 10 years have been saying this very thing. We’ve been trying to convince those on the other side of aisle about what we are up against. It’s been a daunting task. For some reason they think the jihadis would spare them.
9988, 9988, if that isn’t enough to convince them, well I am absolutely certain that I don’t know what will…
They won’t be happy until they’re all part of the caliphate, will they?
10,000 terror attacks in just over six years. If not for the measures of security put in place, many of them would have taken place here on American soil (MM documented some of the people with “fireworks” trying to get to military bases, nuclear plants, etc.).
But not one major terrorist attack has happened on American soil. Curious how liberals ignore that fact.
I’ve had that on my sidebar since not long after I started blogging in 2004, and it never fails to amaze me that there are so many attacks and the media could care less.

I am always amazed at how I have to rely on the internet to find out what is really going on in the world. I originally saw this on Free Republic this morning. Thanks Michelle for posting it here too. News like this must see the light of day so people understand what the stakes in this war really are.
Talk about having it both ways. Either we’re making progress on the “War on Terror” or we’re not. This implies we’re not. According to other posts on this site, we are.

The amount of terrorist attacks has increased sharply since 9/11. That strikes me as a pretty sharp failure.
It strikes me as a perfect example that we’re in an actual WAR with Islamic facists and this is not just a bumper sticker slogan.

First, the attacks have not occurred on US soil.
Second, this should clue all liberals in on Islam not being a religion of peace.
Third, no one really kept records like this prior to 9/11, so, how do we know that attacks increased sharply?
Fourth, why is it our failure? Are we allowed to operate militarily in places like Israel, Syria, Iran, Lebenon, the Philipines, India, etc, and so on?
So Rusty – what do you propose we do?

day before, no American military had been killed in
either Iraq or Afghanistan and I realized as I listened to the newsreader that she had not even mentioned, as an aside, the night before that no one had been
killed. Abolutely one sided and this was our local Fox

I have been checking that site pretty much every week. These numbers do not count the deaths in Iraq or Afghanistan. Many more attacks occur than are counted here because the press does not always pick up on the connection to Islam.
Wake up left wing loonies. It’s only a matter of time until we become the victims.
In fact, police in Atlanta recently discovered the body of a former islamic woman who is now a critic of the “Religion of Peace. She was shot dead in her bed but at first, they classified it as a suiced even though the gun was not found in the room.

Or are you suggesting we expand the war on terror to where these 10,000 attacks occurred? What is your solution?

The mostly liberal leaning Wikipedia has a page called “list of terrorist attacks” in which they purport to track such things. As I pointed out to them a long time ago (and was ignored), it is ridiculously incomplete. The list for 2006 has about 50 entries, for example.

Then we can figure out why they hate us and what we have done to make the Muslims so angry and violent. # 34: An even worse example of the idiocy of the Islamic attitude toward rape is a recent incident in Iran where a teen age girl gang-raped by five men managed to fatally stab one of her attackers in the neck with a ball point pen. She was sentenced to death by hanging. Sharia law requires four male witnesses to prove rape but, not surprisingly, the other four rapist were not inclined or forced to testify. Her execution has been deferred but not cancelled, thanks to the efforts of anti-regime expatriates in getting international publicity.
Another example of Islamic jurisprudence: The brother of an anti-mullah expatriate Iranian woman, whose books I publish, while attending the Iran Naval Academy, was caught with two buddies giving a car ride to three young women, not prostitutes, they met on the street. They were expelled from the academy and given a choice of 1.) 100 lashes or 2.) marry one of the girls. All chose marriage. No report on how they chose which girl to marry or whether they subsequently regretted their election.
This number does not factor in all the deaths written off as common murder, (under-reported) nor does it factor in all the attempted attacks that were, thank God, foiled. (unknown)… & many of those are domestic.
I truly believe that we have been spared massive carnage only because the enemy does not whis to wake a sleeping giant before an election.

I heard an security analyst giving a briefing to about 600 of us at the State Dept yesterday regarding terrorism in Europe. The person said that among all those carrying out terrorism in Europe there is no one common factor among them. They come from various age groups, rich, poor, professional, common labor, unemployed, etc. I wanted to jump up and shout, yes there is…they are all muslims! But I paid too much to attend and didn’t have the b..ls to do it. But I did see a lot of heads shaking.

I never remember what candidate John Kerry would do about the Islamofascists and he only said go to his web page. The party of LBJ, Truman, FDR, JFK has changed alot since they were in power.
