Sedition in Olympia: Snivelers on parade

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 18, 2007 11:05 PM

The anti-military, anti-law enforcement thugs were out protesting again in Olympia. The good news: It doesn’t look like any babies were dropped on their heads today. But it does look like some of the young adults in attendance may be suffering some long-term effects of being dropped on their heads when they were toddlers. Photojournalist/blogger Byron Dazey was there. Check out his report and pics. A sample:

Related: Vigilant Sondra K notes a local Olympia poll on the p.r. failure of the seditious demonstrations. Guess planting kids in front of trucks carrying military equipment or pouring concrete on railroad tracks isn’t winning over people in the Pacific Northwest, either.

If this country was anything close to what these people make it out to be, they’d have been mowed down by M-60s. Somewhere within their thick skulls is a fragmented file which-if put back together-would yield clarity of thought, possibly even in the case of that hairball with the OPD who shows no signs of injury. You can’t really blame him, in a way…every terrorist prisoner claims to be victim of circumstance and/or abuse/torture, and the Stalinist media and jerks like Nat Hentoff eat it right up, so why shouldn’t these seditionists employ the same tactic?

Democratic Election War Cry: “Count Every Vote; Every Vote Counts!” Code phrase meaning Democratic vote fraud! Illegals, dual state residents (happens in FL all the time — snow birds maintain house up north in one spouse’s name, and a house in FL in the other spouse’s name), duplicates, felons, and dead people! They’re so upset because even with three chances to cheat (”recounts”) they still lost. It shows how inept and slow they are. They do learn, though. Now they just need absentee ballots.

Anyone here ever read Lee Harris’s Al Qaeda’s Fantasy Ideology?

The part that’s relevant here is Harris’s description of a war protester back in the Vietnam era:

My friend did not disagree with me as to the likely counterproductive effects of such a demonstration. Instead, he argued that this simply did not matter. His answer was that even if it was counterproductive, even if it turned people against war protesters, indeed even if it made them more likely to support the continuation of the war, he would still participate in the demonstration and he would do so for one simple reason — because it was, in his words, good for his soul.

What I saw as a political act was not, for my friend, any such thing. It was not aimed at altering the minds of other people or persuading them to act differently. Its whole point was what it did for him.

And what it did for him was to provide him with a fantasy — a fantasy, namely, of taking part in the revolutionary struggle of the oppressed against their oppressors. By participating in a violent anti-war demonstration, he was in no sense aiming at coercing conformity with his view — for that would still have been a political objective. Instead, he took his part in order to confirm his ideological fantasy of marching on the right side of history, of feeling himself among the elect few who stood with the angels of historical inevitability. Thus, when he lay down in front of hapless commuters on the bridges over the Potomac, he had no interest in changing the minds of these commuters, no concern over whether they became angry at the protesters or not. They were there merely as props, as so many supernumeraries in his private psychodrama. The protest for him was not politics, but theater; and the significance of his role lay not in the political ends his actions might achieve, but rather in their symbolic value as ritual. In short, he was acting out a fantasy.

I think a lot of these are acting out their Marxist fantasy here.

I am very familiar with the M-2 .50 caliber (M-2 being why they call it Ma Deuce) and think it is a fine outstanding piece of equipment. 7300 bucks and I would love a Barrett Fifty just as much I am sure. Never saw a quad .50 but I saw many quad-mount 40MM AA guns. They were quite the tool to have against aircraft or massed infantry. Not so good in the woods where I was but still would have loved to played with one.

You guys are all talking about taking them out with M-60’s and what nots and you are all way off. A simple bar of soap would do far more damage to these idiots than any automatic rifle any day. It is clearly obvious to anyone that soap and water and yes, even the most basic disposable razor is like garlic to vampires to these losers. One prota-shower and you would have these shipping lanes clear for a long time.

I was encouraged in the videos to see the police finally doing something. It did my heart so much good to see the one cop spraying the big can of pepper spray like so much deodorant across the crowd. The chanting of how they were all so non-violent escaped me. Did they think that if they chant that, then they will not get arrested? And what is with the cheering as someone gets dragged off? When I was raised, I was raised to think that getting arrested was something to not only avoid at all costs, but that it was something to be incredibly embarrassed of. It definately was not something that you would cheer about.

I also am glad that I was not there for the person that was shouting at the lady about taking 5 minutes away from her life. I am afraid i would have been ashamed myself as I would have been arrested for punching that pice of filth in the neck the first time he opened his gop. It was bad enough that he was with the idiots throwing private property into the street, but then to taunt the people, well that wouuld have been the line with me.

Anyway, watching all these brave protesters who are standing up for their beliefs run like the little cowards they are when the police come calling made me laugh. If they are so secure in their beliefs and so set in what they are intending to do, then why are they running? Is it because they are all cowards and not fit to lick the bottoms of the boots of the very sldiers whose memories they disgrace with their filth? WHy yes, I do believe that is what it is.

Actually, I don’t think anyone’s said such a thing at all. Here’s my first comment which led to the subject of machine guns (not the idea of using such weapons against these pathetic malcontents)for the edification of anyone who might’ve been led here by a search engine:

If this country was anything close to what these people make it out to be, they’d have been mowed down by M-60s. Somewhere within their thick skulls is a fragmented file which-if put back together-would yield clarity of thought, possibly even in the case of that hairball with the OPD who shows no signs of injury. You can’t really blame him, in a way…every terrorist prisoner claims to be victim of circumstance and/or abuse/torture, and the Stalinist media and jerks like Nat Hentoff eat it right up, so why shouldn’t these seditionists employ the same tactic?

OT, but I had to share: Remember the ‘Buckwheat’ brouhaha? Heh.

While your comments (64 and 65) are otherwise on the money, please consider that bots troll this wonderful site-why would they not? And imagine what the Quiche Overbites of the media world could make of your interpretation of the banter about weaponry-not the contemplation of the employment of such weapons against unarmed anti-troop nitwits, a notion I haven’t seen suggested.

I don’t imagine Michelle would get in ‘real’ trouble over this, but that doesn’t mean someone wouldn’t try. Just, y’know, food for thought. I hated to risk calling attention to this at all, but since I started it I thought I ought to provide perspective for the benefit of the bots. As Mark Levin would say, thank me!

Attempting to block essential supplies that keep our troops safe is precisely what liberals mean when they claim ‘they support the trooops’.

Again, a great comment but…just in case you didn’t know, skye, this is equipment returning from OIF-not being shipped out. Which is what makes this whole thing utterly ridiculous.

proudgulfwarvet65, in case you were not aware, the organization behind this protest has been attempting to block this port since 2006:

Olympia Port Militarization Resistance (OlyPMR) was founded in May of 2006 when Olympia peace activists attempted to block outgoing Strykers and other military equipment in advance of the deployment of the 3rd Brigade Stryker Team from Ft. Lewis. Activists united under the banner of Olympia Port Militarization Resistance, declaring a common mission to “end our community’s participation in the illegal occupation of Iraq by stopping the military use of the Port of Olympia.”

In this protest, the equipment was being returning - however, OPMR’s stated goal is to STOP all military shipments -either incoming or outgoing.

My assessment still stands. I hope this helps clear your confusion over this situation.

Again, my recommendation was for a bar of soap. That is the extent of any threat I have ever made.
