Who’s to blame for the spread of illegal alien IDs?

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 20, 2007 08:23 PM

Update: Romney vs. Giuliani on immigration enforcement. Ask them where they stand on the Bush Treasury Department’s approval of the matricula consular card.

You know I’m happy to bash San Francisco when the moonbatty town deserves it, which is often, but you’ll pardon me for not getting overly worked up over the Bay Area sanctuary city’s decision to provide ID cards to illegal alien residents. The plan was approved today:

San Francisco will give resident identification cards to illegal immigrants under a plan approved on Tuesday amid a fierce nationwide debate on granting privileges to undocumented aliens.

In a 10-1 vote, the city’s board of supervisors — the equivalent of a city council — approved giving identification cards to all residents, including illegal immigrants. The move makes San Francisco the largest U.S. city to back such a plan.

Residents will be able to obtain the resident cards by presenting photo identification and proof they live in the city, such as a utility bill. It was unclear if the new cards, which will be accepted at libraries and health clinics, will carry photos.

Such a move had been expected from San Francisco, which is famously liberal. Earlier this year, Mayor Gavin Newsom said he would not allow city officials and employees to assist immigration raids by federal authorities seeking up people who had committed crimes or disregarded deportation orders.

San Francisco, which declared itself a “sanctuary city” in 1989, also this year launched a program to provide medical care to uninsured residents regardless of their immigration status.

Gavin Newsom is an open-borders dweeb. Bu who’s ultimately to blame for the spread of illegal alien IDs?

Congress and the White House have allowed these sanctuary cities to operate with impunity. And it is the Bush Treasury Department that set the precedent for illegal alien ID cards by approving the use of the matricula consular card over the objections of veteran law enforcement officers.

Before Republicans jump all over San Fran for approving security-undermining, phony baloney IDs to illegals, they might want to take it up with the White House first.

Sanctuary city leftists — there are too many to name — deserve their own very specific and pointed criticism for their actions and intentions, so instead of coddling San Francisco, say it like it is. They’re not different than the other big cities that have virtually seceded by hypocritically declaring their Federal welfare-dependent city-states to be outside of Federal immigration enforcement, such as it is.

There is an awful lot that the Bush Administration must be held accountable for, which is one reason I have advocated that the Republicans launch their own impeachment hearings. Of course, it will not happen. But more to the point, when will conservatives stand up for their principles regarding the Bush Administration? Here and there a few have, to be sure, but for the most part conservatives, just as Republicans, have given Bush a pass with the usual, “Well, he’s not as bad as ________,” complaining about an item here or there, but never proposing a comprehensive criticism.

Conservatives and Republicans, those worthy of the name, have been utterly disarmed and demoralized. Bush II, who never got his mind out of the Texas statehouse, has done far more damage to the country than a Gore administration ever would have done, for the simple reason that Republicans and conservatives would have fought Gore every step of the way.

Future historians of the Islamic Republic of Amexica will look back on Bush II as the turning point, where he posed at the front door while leaving the back door wide open for them and their brothers to pour in. The coming Clinton Administration will merely be a mop up.

Good! Finally you are getting somewhere. At thie rate, hopefully you will realize that the Iraq War I was solely to protect Kuwaiti and Saudi wahhabis from Saddam. It was only a favour from American first family to their rich wahhabi friends. American tax-dollars, government and lives are at the disposal of the first family to use/abuse whichever way they wish. That Americans are gullible fools, makes that much easier for Bush and Clinton families. But glad you realize that white house has a traitor as far as illigal immigrants are concerned. Before Republicans jump all over San Fran for approving security-undermining, phony baloney IDs to illegals, they might want to take it up with the White House first.

The White House, and more particularly, Bush himself, are without exception the first place I place blame for this type of pandering to illegals. To used Bush’s own words, he himself is the one that has set the new tone that makes giving phony ID’s to illegals so easy for mayors like Newsome.

Are you kidding? to claim that anything Bush would or could do would have any impact on a person like Newsome, who daily thumbs his nose at Federal law and normal standards is showing a complete and total misunderstanding of just what type of moron and Liberal Gavin newsome is.

Bush is someone who thinks his own mind. He does not set his agenda according to polls or whatever way the political wind is blowing when he wakes up in the morning. He does not have hourly focus groups to see what his numbers will do when he makes up some game plan. This is what has made him the strong President that he is and what is what most of us appreciate and respect in the man. While his view on Illegal Immigration and Amnesty is one that makes all of us want to throw up, he has his reasons, and we should not think that he is going to suddenl change into that which we disdain solely because we hate his decision on this one issue.

This is what you trolls fail to see. You come on here and see us hating what Bush has decided needs to be done when it comes to Illegal Aliens and think that we must think that all his policies and decisions are wrong. Your black and white view disgusts me. When you had a President for 8 years that not one of you can tell me one thing that he enacted in the 8 years he was President, yet say what a god he was, and then rip Bush apart for everything…well you just make me sick.

We respect the office of the President. We respect this President a great deal. The world he has had to deal with during his Presidency has been one no man would envy, and people like you have been embarrassing yourselves as well as assisting the enemy at every turn in ways that would have had you shot a mere 60 years ago.

Amnesty is wrong. These are not “undocumented citizens”, or “Undocumented workers” or whatever else you Political Correct thugs want to call them They are illegal and their first acts in this country was to break our laws and thumb their noses at our society. They are not here to make this country better, they are sending the money they make out of the country into their home country which further damages the economy.

I will never understand the need you people have to defend our enemies or those that break our laws. Your types basic failure to understand right and wrong, good and bad trobles all of us at a base level, and is what explains your deep seated and irrational, irresponsible and unwarranted hatred of a sitting President.

Now please, you have plenty of your own little hate sites to play at, where all your little sycophantic friends can play slap-ass together and congratulate each other on how you were able to hate more than the next guy while decrying how you despise those evil Repulicans. Go there and be amongst your own. Stop spreading your filth to places where you are really not wanted. Starting here.

It is complex. Bush is a border quisling, willing to kill, rob and rape, not to mention impoverish, thousands of Americans to prove himself compassionate. Chertoff is simply the dumbest man ever to work in such an important position.

I blame every administration from Reagan on down. The amnesty shamnesty began there and unless we start voting in only candidates strong on enforcement now we are going to lose our sovereignity.

I blame more than just the Bush administration! That is for sure!!

The sad thing is that here in California, this craziness will continue until the federal $$$ stops. Would that we could get that started next!!!

No federal dollars for the sanctuary and military hating states, cities and universities!!! NOW.

People keep saying, “Well, we can’t round them up, put them on buses and planes and deport them all”. i want to know why not? Why is it that we are not allowed to follow our own laws, capture those that sit at home Depot, that hang out on corners, that are known to be in certain places, that get arrested, or any nuber of places and ways that we find ILLEGAL ALIENS and take them to INS, process them and ship them all out once a week on a bus and/or plane to their home country. On a repeat offence, they are sent to a special prison, erected specifically for said offenders in the manner of the tent cities, with increasingly longer sentances for each subsequent arrest, and finally be rid of this issue once and for all. When word gets out that the gravy train has finally pulled out of the station, maybe then things will change.

And don’t give me that tired “We are all illegal aliens” or “Only Indians are natives here” or whatever other tired ol hippie logic you want to use that all Liberals toss out in order to end debate. To use as an example, something that happened 600 years ago, with different morals, different standards, different laws etc., than what is today is incredibly underhanded and dishonest and you know it.

While it is true that the vast majority of families came from somewhere else. this was not a sovereign nation wit laws and borders back then. We were welcomed, we did not have to deal with what is going on now, so stop using that excuse to apologise for violating our laws and weaken our country’s defense, borders and economy.

Also, do not use the excuse that they are here to do the work that Americans won’t do or that the economy would collapse over night. What you ae doing then is supporting a form of slavery, since these “jobs” take advantage f the workers inability to complain about their conditions and pay, because to do so would expose their ILLEGAL status, and we all know they are paid well below going rates and state and fed minimum wage. It taes wages away from Americans and actually KEEPS JOBS AWAY from Americans. I am just surprised that the Labor movement in this country has not come on board to stop illegal immigration and deprt those that are here.

Also, stop the dishonest description. Call it what it is. We are not anti-immigration. We are anti-ILLEGAL immigration. As one who has sponsored people coming her LEGALLY, I will never keep someone from coming here here legally. But do not violate our laws. That will Never be acceptable, nor will the repeated Liberal lies.

Deport the illegals now. All of them.

Eisenhower cleaned up the Illegal Aliens with less than 1,000 Border Patrol.

He did it in less than a year with Operation Wetback, do a google.

More than a million were rounded up and deported in a years time. Many more self deported because the Whitehouse was providing the leadership and the Illegals were afraid they would be arrested.

My wife is Filipina, and it took me more than two years to bring her here legally (I was deployed to Iraq at the time, so it was very difficult).
It appears to be impossible to bring her beautiful, intelligent youngest sister here legally unless I put the full amount to cover four years in a college in an account and she takes a TOEFL test. The State Department has been totally unresponsive on assistance, and in the meantime we have thousands coming over the border illegally weekly?
