MoveOn’s idiotic Thanksgiving ad: They still can’t figure out what American troops look like; Update/correction
Update/correction: Thanks to amerpundit for pointing out that the ad is in fact the very same one from 2005. Still uncorrected, still peddling the lie that the British troops are American troops. Their bad. But it’s not a new one for the 2007 season. My bad. Still very useful to see what they’re keeping on the site and how stunted their attacks remain.

What are the nutballs at MoveOn.org up to this holiday season? You’re going to love this. First, take a look at this page. The Soros moonbats who brought you the General Betray Us ad want money to put a new anti-war TV ad “on CNN and on the air in the hometowns of members of Congress who are pushing…smears” against John Murtha and Harry Reid:
Click on the ad and watch very carefully. Here’s the script: “Some folks won’t be home this holiday season. 150,000 American men and women are stuck in Iraq. Their president misled America to send them in and has no plan to get them out. Democrats in Congress are leading the way home. Where are the Republicans? Tell your representative, ‘Support our troops. Bring them home.’”
To illustrate how our US troops are “stuck in Iraq” (or should I spell that, “stuck in Irak?”), the MoveOn ad flashes this picture:
Does it look familiar? I recognized it immediately.
It’s the same freaking photo of British troops they used in an anti-war Thanksgiving ad two years ago. (FYI, I’ve captured the video in case they try to hide their abject stupidity.) As bloggers pointed out in 2005, MoveOn had actually photoshopped the original pic to hide the fact that one of the soldiers was wearing shorts.
Look at the camo. Those are British pattern fatigues, not American.
The liberal political group MoveOn.org has yanked a video ad from its website after being criticized for using images of British soldiers to represent Americans in Iraq.
The 30-second ad, which also began running on CNN and cable stations during the Thanksgiving weekend, stated that “150,000 American men and women are stuck in Iraq” this holiday season.
But the ad showed soldiers who were “not wearing U.S. uniforms,” according to a Pentagon spokesman who was interviewed by Cybercast News Service Wednesday, approximately two hours before the Internet version of the ad was pulled from the MoveOn.org website.
Two years later, MoveOn is still singing the same defeatist, anti-American tune, using the same bogus photos, to undermine our war efforts and line their pockets.
Question their patriotism?
I question their brain-wave activity.

There is no need to question their patriotism. They aren’t patriotic. So there is nothing TO question.
As for brainwave activity, I have found the rank and file completely incapable of independent analysis. Most of them are either too stupid or too lazy to “think for themselves,” so they resort to canned talking points that originate from their “sages” and “factoid factories.”
Their leadership, on the other hand, are traitors. MoveOn.org OPPOSED the war in Afghanistan. They DEMANDED that we not invade, that the entire country committed war crimes. And that on 9/11/01, we deserved it because we had it coming.
George Soros, their main money source, IMHO, should be de-naturalized and deported. MoveOn’s leadership should be in prison facing charges of capital treason. Their assets should be confiscated and distributed to America’s poor. And every local coordinator hunted down and incarcerated as well.
Where are the Republicans? Here.
Lucky for us, like all narcissists, they can’t conceive of themselves making an error which means they can’t learn from their mistakes.

Soros should return to his roots in Europe. The man spent over $23 million to defeat “W” in 2003-04. He’s not as smart as he’s given credit. His arrogance is limitless. I just want to check. The script from the commercial today appears to be the same script from 2005, if I’m reading this correctly. I can’t find the “new” commercial on MoveOn’s website. Are we sure this isn’t the same page from 2005, just not deleted? Why wouldn’t they link this from their front page? It shows they’ve already raised 102% of their goal.

This add really rubs me the wrong way. Bad enough they still can’t figure out what a US Service member looks like since when did America hating liberals pray around the dinner table. One of my favorite times to eat in the chow hall was Thanksgiving and Christmas meal. I was also honored to serve it up to our Airmen when I was a Senior NCO. As I learned from the soldiers I served with in a former joint assignment “stay low, use cover, and concealment.”
Tomorrow and the day after will both be nice and slow. Probably have more people hurt playing football than anything else!

To use the same thing twice, after getting caught in it before is just the epitome of either arrogance or sheer stupidity. i am not sure which. to say it is both I think might actually give them far too much credit.
However, I can already hear them using the CBS excuse once they get called on it in public. I can hear them claiming that just because they are British troops does not mean that it is not true and that the American troops are not in similar lines on thanksgiving and thus this cideo fairly portrays the situation in Iraq.
And what was with the woman with the big wad of snot rags? What happened? Did her Tofurkey not cook properly? And are we really supposed to believe that these Moveon-ers are sitting around the table, holding hands in prayer on Thanksgiving? After all, what do they care whether or not the soldiers are here or there on this, the most heinous of all American holidays. Isn’t this the one that celebrates the genocide of those poor, innocent, trusting injuns who only wanted to show us how to properly butter our popcorn? How can they want us to feel bad about having our men and women missing a holiday that they are busy trying to get taken off the calendar?

Leftists of the MoveOn variety are certinly capable of making tremendous leaps of faith; it’s just not religious faith.
It is an article of their faith that the war is lost, the army is broken, the troops resentful and demoralized war criminals or child-like “victims” themselves, that the local population hates us, the surge isn’t working, that “hundreds of thousands” of Iraqi civilians have died at the hands of our soldiers, that we bomb civilians indiscriminately, yada yada yada.
They accept all of the above, and more, as axiomatic because they have already found their particular brand of salvation. It’s not open to debate.
Think of it this way: If you are a Christian, and someone points to a painting of Jesus and says that he probably didn’t look like that in real life – the caucasian features, the long straight hair, and so on – would the discrepancies cause you to reconsider his divinity? Or to renounce God?
Similarly, we can point out all the factual errors and untruths of the MoveOn crowd until we die of old age. None of that will shake their conviction.
Ads like the one above are mostly for consumption by the MoveOn Faithful. Just like going to church reinforces religious conviction, a steady stream of misleading ads, slogans, canards and cliches, parroted in Goebbels-style “Big Lie” fashion, helps keep the MoveOn types convinced that there’s no need to re-examine their beliefs.
Thus, it follows that efforts to combat MoveOn cultists are best spent not in pointing out that they are wrong or deceitful – even though they are – but rather in sending to the undecided or the doubtful the message that the drive-by media is suppressing: that we are having real success on the ground, that all is not lost, and that faith in America, its democratic ideals and its armed forces is not misplaced.
We’ll never change the Cult of Soros. They’re forever lost to logic, evidence, truth, reasoned discourse and objective reality. But we can fight to deny them converts to their disgusting beliefs. That’s the battle we must win.

Interesting that your concern for US troops is so profound that you can’t even recognize them when you see them. Your Thanksgiving ad depicts British soldiers, not US. Smooth move.
As a career US Soldier who has fought in TWO wars I can tell you that we really DON’T appreciate what you trying to do and wish you would just shut the HELL up. We’re doing good work in Iraq and Afghanistan and the people there need us.
We know you want our mission to fail so the deaths of our brothers and sisters will have been in vain, but we’re not exactly ready to cooperate. So, do us and yourselves a favor and stick a cork in it, OK?
