In my opinion Yvonne Ridley should be charged with treason for siding with the enemy in a time of war. When will people wake up and see that Islam is the real enemy. If they truly think islam is a religion of peace, contrary to what we see happening every day, then they need to be replaced by people who are grounded in reality.

The only real hope we have is that the Jihadists will start attacking the Left. They will at some point, of course, since we are all infidels, but it may be far too late when it happens.
While I find WWII analogies weak and unpersuasive, it is instructive to recall that until June 21, 1941, the Nazi-Soviet defacto alliance was kicking the West’s collective butt real bad. And with the full support of the Left. In fact, had the alliance held, and Hitler sent his armies through the middle-East to India to link up with the Japanese before finally striking against Russia, there is no doubt who would have won. Hitler’s error meant that the Left and all the progressive types — for the duration of the war only — were then behind the Western democracies.

You brought up a good example, beenthere. Hitler had no intention of honoring the “agreement” with Stalin, from the beginning. It was simply a means of protecting his East while he dealt with the West. However, Stalin (the Left) thought the agreement was binding and would be honored. Sounds like the left today. On 6/22/41 Hitler invaded a wholly unprepared country, even when the signs were obvious. Stalin even jailed anyone who tried to alert the Soviets of impending invasion. He also instructed the border troops not to fire (provoke) the Germans, even if they fired at them. Same thing today with the Left and the terrorists. Be nice to them and they will be nice to us. Then bury our heads in the sand, and hope they go away. As history always shows, what has happened before, will happen again, if ignored.

As a CA taxpayer living in Irvine, I am SO happy with UCI policies that lay out the welcome mat to jihadist sympathizers while denying conservatives the right to speak on campus or looking the other way when their meetings are disrupted by activists.
Freedom of speach is a wonderful thing. It allows ignorant people the chance to time and again demosnstrate thier lack of common sense and the ability to reason in reality.

This is not the modern American view of a woman’s place. Women and men are equal in marriage. They have the same rights and responsibilities. If most American Christians have evolved beyond a literal interpretation of their scriptures, American Muslims can too.

The Taliban were a scattered bunch of tribesman during the Soviet occupation. They were eventually funded and trained by the Pakistani ISI in the early 1990’s, long after Reagan left office.
As for Reagan “supporting” Bin Laden, Osama bought most of his own arms with his own money and spurned the help of the CIA in the 1980’s. There is no credible evidence linking Bin Laden and the CIA – ever.

The focus of the covert US intervention was to supply arms and training to a cadre dedicated to defeating the Soviet army and driving them out of Afghanistan. Civilian massacres did not further this goal.
The provision of advanced technology and tactical support did. The Stinger missle, an anti-aircraft weapon, was one of the decisive weapons of the Soviet-Afghan War, and as far as I know, afghan civilians generally don’t fly helicopter gunships.

I’ve met quite a few members of the American Indian Movement. Some of my own family belonged to AIM at one time or another.
One AIM leader used to come to the sweat lodge in my mother’s backyard. When his people heard that the Miskito Indians were being murdered by the Nicaraguan communists, AIM soldiers went down to Nicaragua and murdered them back.
I honor them, and the fact that they killed communists in defense of the Indian community means AIM will generally get the benefit of the doubt in my book.
