Denver diversity training tape: Blame whitey
Have you ever had to undergo “diversity training?” I did when I worked at the Seattle Times. Corporations fork out big bucks to politically correct police who put you through insipid sensitivity exercises. These people lack common sense, humor, and nuance. Every reference to race, ethnicity, gender, or physical appearance is a firing offense. The trainers treat employees like kindergarteners. It’s excruciatingly painful and insulting–and always wrapped in white guilt. Under the guise of fighting stereotypes, the diversity-mongers inevitably engage in exactly the kind of behavior they claim to condemn.
One employee in Denver has had enough of the diversity racket. He’s blown the whistle on a Blame Whitey diversity video (hat tip - Slapstick Politics):
The city of Denver is showing its employees a diversity training video that portrays a white man as a narrow-minded buffoon - triggering allegations of “institutional racism” against Anglos.
“Right now, their diversity program is racially motivated against white males,” said Dennis Supple, a heating, ventilating and air-conditioning mechanic who has worked for the city 1 1/2 years.
The video, titled Laughing Matters - Think About It, is meant to show employees how humor at the expense of others diminishes respect in the workplace. The character who breaks all the rules is Billy, a white, blue-collar worker who’s a racist, sexist goofball.
In one scene, Billy is told that another employee named Carlos can’t do anything because he’s waiting for supplies.
“What’s his problem?” Billy says. “He can’t sell breakfast burritos without the supplies or he takes a siesta?”
Supple said the video violates his civil rights and that he’s considering taking the equity in his house to file a lawsuit to stop the city from showing it.
“Diversity, to me, doesn’t mean hammer the white guy,” Supple said. “Diversity means you have respect for everyone, regardless of their race, their gender, their religion, their sexual orientation.”
The video is like a bad, bad Onion parody. Here’s a snippet:
The Drunkablog notes that the city of Denver brags that the video “developed by the city’s Diversity Advisory Committee in collaboration with Channel 8, the city’s television channel, won second place in 2005 for Instruction/Training from the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors.”
In fact, the video was planned to be “the first in a series.”
Your tax dollars at work.

Wonder if the diversity advisors will be making any of these videos for college campuses?

Well on an up note they didnt blame President Bush.
Whitey was involved when Beaver climbed into the soup bowl on the billboard.
But he didn’t make Beaver do it.
No AJ, they didn’t. Although President Bush has been accused of racial prejudice by some people in spite of having perhaps the most diverse Cabinet in history.
The blame bush tape is #3 in the series. Does anyone know the punchlines to these jokes I would like to have a good laugh today, never mind aj and whyso took care of it. LOL
I have been to quite a few as an undergrad.
Michelle, you and he are forgetting one very important thing. It’s perfectly alright, encouraged even, to discriminate against young, hetrosexual, caucasian, Christian men. Remember, the University of Delaware said all such men are automatically racist. Louie Farakhan can call the Pope a no-good cracker and that’s alright. Jessie Jackson can call New York “Hymie Town” with no problem. Mayor “Choclate” Nagin can say he only wants black people in New Orleans and that’s alright. They’re not racist.
Gee, where were you all through the 90’s?
Ike Update: Now it’s the Beware the Diversity Industrial Complex!
Now that is an excellant quote. There’s nothing wrong with diversity training, because it’s a good way to avoid a hostile work environment and potential lawsuits. However, it’s tired and boring to keep perpetuating the false assumption that only a white male can be insensitve, or bigoted.
Why is it so difficult to believe that there are good and bad people among all walks of life? Nobody is good or bad because of WHAT they are, it is WHO we are that makes us good or bad. I am so glad my Grandfather never lived to see this day.
It is interesting that:
Women have special protection…
Minorities have special protection…
Gays have special protection…
Disabled have special protections…
Non Christian religions have protections..
Now… America is still about 70% White… which means about 35% of America is White Male…
Hmmm… two thirds of the population have some form of “protections” that One third does not… how does that work under the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitituion?
This reeks of “content of their character” propaganda. Insensitivity I say!
What happened to “do unto others as you would have them do unto you?”
Fortunately, I work for a small company in the private sector, so we don’t have to put up with this sort of idiocy.
Our ‘diversity training’ consists of our company’s lawyer giving us a thorough technical rundown on harrassment and hostile working environment law, and how to avoid lawsuits. . .all of which is pretty much common sense.
That sentiment is a key tenet of Christianity…and therefore offensive to atheists.
Milk coming out of my nose.
That’s funny!
These training sessions are brutal. Nobody ever wants to speak since it would be similar to walking on thin ice in late April. Why take the chance? Just sit through the eight to 16 hours and try to shut up.
At our training session, we watched one interesting video about Jane Elliot and her blue eye/brown eye experiment with 3rd graders. It was very telling - how quickly brainwashed these kids could be.
Within one hour, the presenter actually told us that 9/11 MUST be partly our fault and we need to find out what we could have done to deserve it. Unbelievable.
I walked on the thin ice. “If you’re wondering why these teenagers strap bombs to themselves, or Islamic extremists fly planes into buildings, all you have to do is watch that video,” I said, “those kids were brainwashed in three hours, imagine what the Islamic extremists can do to kids in nine years“.
Room. Got. Quiet.
Later, at least three participants came to me - quietly - and thanked me for speaking up.

Looks like I need a crash course of Diversity training 101 - where do I sign up?
Tolerance is a good thing in Moderation.
That is an attitude and a behavior that requires selflessness. Political correctness is selfish and self-serving.
Racism and bigotry happens. But not nearly as often as the politically correct left has us think and - regardless what the usual suspects say - is not institutionalized.
Racism and bigotry is not found in merely disagreeing with people, questioning that behavior, debating policies or behavior, or by being a conservative. For you lefties out there - repeat that last sentence as often as necessary until it sinks in.
When REAL racism and bigotry happens, it is perpetrated by an ignorant person who deserves to be treated like an ignorant person…discredited and ignored. I think there are very few people who would act as stupidly as the “example” in the video.
He should open an account and ask for donations, and then he won’t need to put up the equity in house. I’m not the only one who would write a check in a NY minute, am I?
Now, hold on a second. Is the only racist/sexist/homophobic/whatever character here Billy? Or is it in every situation a different white male involved in the discrimination?
I haven’t seen the whole movie, and I’m not going to make any judgments without seeing the whole film myself. But if it’s one person doing everything wrong, then it’s quite a jump to say the movie is portraying all white men as racists. They could be using a “complex character” so they don’t have to show a racist black man, a racist Hispanic man, a sexist woman, a homophobic Asian, etc.
But they can get away with the portrayal because he is white, although I don’t think it’s labeling all white men as “Billy”. If every situation had a different white male acting like a tool, then I’d be bent out of shape.
I’m curious how the rest of the series goes– if it’s “Billy Strikes Back” and then “Return of the Minorities”, where at the end they blow up Billy’s trailer.
I did see a diversity seminar back when I was a grad student in Wyoming that was laughable, but the video authors actually used different races and genders to bring up different inappropriate workplace behavior. My favorite bit was this one very attractive woman hitting on a guy in the mail room, and when she left, the man crossed his arms and shook his head. 80% of the room burst into laughter.
But it shows that you can make a video that doesn’t single out a specific race or gender.
Had they simply put up a placard at the beginning that said, “You are about to meet ‘Billy’, a composite character that is not meant to single out any one race or gender”, I’m sure it would have allayed any concerns.
The whole diversity training thing is based on the belief that white males have been racists and in the past and always will be racists–and the only changes they will ever make in their behavior are the changes they are forced to make.
I went through some diversity training of my own a long time ago. I was in the sixth grade when the schools were integrated in SC. Before that most of what I knew of black people came from hearing the racists utterings of the pre-civil rights era. It is my considered opinion that integrating the schools was one of the best things to happen to race relations in this country. By interacting with the black students in my classes I learned to see past such superficial things as skin color and judge people on their own merits. This was one of the most valuable lessons I ever learned.
Unfortunately, there are many people who think white males incapable of learning such lessons. That is a racist attitude in its own right.
The narrator said that “we had all heard those jokes” but I haven’t heard the one about the rabbi. How does it end?
These stupid brain washing attempts must end. When engaged in by a public entity, they are illegal They violate both the 14th and !st Amendment.
I’m tired of “diversity” being used as if it is always a good thing. There are lots of examples where this isn’t true. Different does not automatically mean “better” and even more different, just for the sake of being different, is not a strength.
One of the goals of political correctness is to make people either believe, or say they believe, that which is observably not true.
These people morph into the very monster that they pretend to abhor. The federal government does this in the name of diversity. I know===I was there.Wrong is Wrong. Wise up.
That video sounds about right. To me, diversity training means every color is okay as long as it’s not white. If you’re white, you’re responsible for the slave trade, colonization, oppression of blacks, the opium wars and any other grievance one can think off.
With respect to religion, every religion is okay and it’s fine if a Muslim demands a prayer room, a statue of the Buddha is placed in the office corridor, and children are encouraged to participate in worship during a school visit to a temple. But don’t you dare call that holiday Christmas or even mention the phrase “In God we trust”.
Yep. Diversity indeed.
/sarc on I wonder what would happen if the “racist” was a member of a protected class? /sarc off
I already know the answer, and I live with racism everyday in Memphis. Racism that can be blatant by the comments of the local politicians, the action taken by various employees where I do business when compared to the way they treat customers of their own ethnicity, and consistent demonization of my cultural heritage when I refuse to participate in the mandatory celebrations of diversity.
One point that needs to be considered repeatately is the perspective that drives race-based affirmative action and diversity training: Christian, white, gun supporting, family oriented (one man/one woman), educated, males of white privledge is the enemy
I have heard this quite frequently during my time at U of M by the sociology and english departments, the types of articles in the school paper, and the listing of various causes my tuition is supporting (hint: Read you taxpayers are supporting via my GI Bill)
Lots of good posts regarding some of the racist comments made by al, jessie, nagin, and etc. Of course, don’t forget “Islamorage Boy” too! These things need to be continously brought back up to remind others that racism is not restricted to one ethnic group.
Several years ago I used to attend Norfolk Admirals hockey games and would drop by the local fastfood restruant for a cheap meal, but one day something caught my attention. I noticed a cashier treating a customer with the common courtesies, and then suddenly changed to being very rude to the next customer. She did this by the rolling of the eyes, raising her voice, wrinkling of her nose, and snorting. My first instinct is that this cashier is having a problem understanding the customer and the frustration carried over or she was friends with her previous customer. Her next customer she treated nicely (without the eye rolling, etc)and saw an ethnic comparison between the cashier, and the customers she was treating with common courtesy. HHHmmm that’s odd…However, I watched, listened, took notes for over 30 minutes. Counted the number of customers she served, the ethnicity/ gender/approximate age of the customer and noticed that she was only giving the common courtesies to customers that shared her ethnic traits. Her customers that didn’t share her ethnic traits treated her with respect and gave the common courtesies even though they were being treated as nothing more than a number. While some people may not consider this racism, the fact that the cashier was treating (by her actions)consistently customers diffrently with the only people being treated considerately were members of her ethnic group. BTW-I wore my Bill Jack jeans, a t-shirt, and a cheap pair of sneakers (I looked like a Portsmouth Dock worker) and was treated the same as a person wearing a suit/tie that shared my ethnic characteristics. Racism doesn’t have to be restricted to merely verbal slurs, but done by action. It is this kind of racism that can be the most subtle, and yet most venousmous to the soul.
Now when the time comes that I refuse to teach or serve a person of a diffrent ethnic group consistently, then by all means bring me in for some diversity training-but until then, get off my case, leave me alone and let me do my job as a professional.
GSP
I live in Denver, and this doesn’t surprise me one bit.
After all, Denver brought Diana DeGette to the political arena. She’s merely Teddy Kennedy in a cheap wig.
With any successful company, there is a small percentage of people who are looking for easy money. Thus, diversity training. I’ve been through three mandatory sessions over the last 20 years. One was outsourced. They were all incredibly poorly done. The racism implicit in the moderators’ stance was appalling. During the second indoctrination session, I watched three guys from the South having to suck it up on one side of the room re the Confederate Flag which is banned on company property. I reminded the moderator that it was actually the Battle Flag of the Confederacy. My mother is from the South and I really resent the incessant slams that part of the country endures. The moderator didn’t have an answer just huffed that it’s against company policy because it offends African Americans. I then said that there was a segment of the Hispanic population that was offended by Old Glory. Should we stop flying the U. S. flag as well? Everyone wants to play the victim. I’m sick of it. We are Americans first and foremost. If you’re not, move to Canada, please.
Welcome to Denver. Evr since Wellington Webb and his cronies took office years ago this is how Denver looks at things. Granted now we have Mayor(don’t do a thing and support amnesty) Hickenlooper.
This type of bogus , progressive thinking is not limited toi the city, but runs rampent in the State government as well.
With the city of Denver becomeing an even bigger cesspool of leftist … I mmean progresive thinking. These type of things are common.
Several years back, Denver commisioned a report on how the DPD was supposed to be bigoted and racist. The facts of the report showed that Denver went out of its way to ticket and arrest white males more then any other race.
Colorado is falling fast to the left.
please forgive the previous typos
But all these bits of humor are actually really funny if you string them together as one joke, like so:
A mexican, a Jew and a black dude walk into a bar while a Polish person and a midget get caught in a thunderstorm as a minister turns to the Rabbi and says, “How many blondes does it take to screw in a light bulb?” and the Rabbi answers, “More faeries than a Shakespeare play!”
Also, they did NOT blame President Bush but there is kind of an allusion to Global Warming by way of all the blondes and all the light bulbs.
When I worked for the federal government, the Department of Defense, we had this kind of junk all the time. The one that particularly sticks out in my mind is the POSH - Prevention Of Sexual Harassment. It was focused on the guys because we are the only ones who could sexually harass others.
This thing was a big deal - every year we had to stop what we were doing and spend 2-3 hours in an indoctrination session. And it was MANDATED from the White House, the Clinton White House that is. When Willy got in that little unpleasantness with Monica, all that BS went away. About 2 or 3 years after Willy left office it came back in the form of online “training” which everybody ignored.
I lost count of the millions that the fed govt spent on POSH, team building, TQM and other useless programs. When I retired they were starting LEAN. That’s just all these other failed programs wrapped in a new box with a different ribbon. That’s YOUR tax money at work, folks.
I’ll have to say one thing though. The POSH sort of worked because the woman’s word was always taken over the man’s and the man was guilty until he could prove his innocence. If you were charged with harassment whether you were convicted or not it was a career ender. Nobody wanted you working for them.
Of course youtube already removed the video. They wouldn’t want everyone to see how ludicrous and anti-white racist the left is, now would they?
Think I’ll just sit around and watch tv and wait for that one commercial that doesn’t portray the white guy as the sap. They happen about as often as Halley’s Comet makes a pass in the sky.
Don’t forget a southern accent, it adds “realism”. Here’s reality for you. I work for a Fortune 500 company in GA and all of my supervisors are black and female. I am a white male. But y’all just stick to that southern redneck NASCAR stereotype m’kay.
You can get the video from Michelle’s link above. It’s better quality, but it was the same stuff that was in the YouTube video.
Why does any self-respecting person go to
these heterosexual white male-bashing orgies
at all?
If I were told to go, I would refuse.
If I were fired because of that, I would
find another job with a company that does
not traffic in ideological reprogramming.
What is that mantra from the Left?
“It is better to die on your feet than live
on your knees.”
Anyway, at the company I work for, no such
atrocities exist. The only thing is that upon commencement of employment you
have to sign a sheet of paper promising
that you won’t engage in a bunch of
enumerated activities that “will not be tolerated”.
(You can choose to actually read the sheet or not.)
Ah, Colorado. The ultimate locale for the cult of multi-culturalism. It’s just paradise out here, if you’re a lib.
It’s hell for the rest of us.

All the programs wrapped in a new box with a different ribbon - you got that right! HR “consultants” have to come up with new ideas/theories/names/acronymns every year in order to have new “products” to sell.
It truly all boils down to, simply, “Exercise common courtesy to all”.
A couple year ago I had to take one of these sensitivity classes and it was crazy. The offending Stupid White Male was acting in a manner that NO ONE would ever act. Klansmen and neo-Nazis aren’t this stupid in their rhetoric.
I went to my boss and asked, “Doesn’t this class perpetuate the stereotype of white males as being totally insensitive retards?” He agreed, but it wasn’t his call. The suits upstairs had commanded that we all learn our lesson.
The ironic part was that the guy in the course was hassling a Chinese woman with the same accent that Rosie “Fire has never melted steel” O’Dumbass used on “Da Spew”. Where is her mandated sensitivity training?
i am not considered ‘white’(african/arab), but i am so tired of watching the bashing of white men and/or women. in entertainment and commercials the white male or female is portrayed as stupid or immoral. frankly, it is about time someone stood up and called it what it is: racism. by attempting to include, be diverse and tolerant they have gone to far to the other side and lack a ‘balance’.
the video could have shown, a white person, a hispanic (la raza), and a black person all being ‘racist’. all three examples would have been balanced and enlightening. that, yes, we are all capable of being racist, sexist or whatever.
as a matter of fact some of the most racist persons are hispanics and their attitudes toward anyone not of the ‘race’ (la raza). you catch it here in So. Cal, alot, if you understand spanish and they think you don’t… well…very racist.
Yes the white male is the cause of all problems. It is OK to discriminate against them, and they are use to it.
Keep it up, that’s what makes the white male what he is today — Thank you!
And get your cholera shot if going south to a NASCAR race. Billy Bob Cracker apparently doesn’t wash his hands either…
It is soon coming to a point where I, as a white, conservative, patriotic male, will be outraged, hurt, embarrassed, and yes, offended by the reactions of anyone whose feeling get hurt over the telling of joke, the imagined meaning of a word, and anyone who thinks they have the ability to look deep into my psyche, and tell me what I really meant, think, hear, see, or feel.
It is amazing to me that the more educated, or enlightened (as some would say) society becomes, the thinner the dermal layer becomes. Well, I’ve had it…If anyone dares say anything contrary to my way of thinking, I’m going to have a tizzy-fit, call a news conference, and hire Gloria Alred to handle my lawusits. I only pray I get some of these “socially astute” judges to hear my cases!
Okay…done ranting. I hope I didn’t offend anyone…
Ah, yss, “diversity trainng.” I remember it well: it was once instrumental in costing me my job when I let slip what I really thought about it. Didn’t get me fired right away; but I knew that when the time came to lay somebody off my name just made the top of the list. And so it came to pass…
At that company, the magic word was “inclusion.” As if “diversity” was getting a bad name. New label, same old stuff - including video of the green/brown eyes humiliation inflicted on a captive audience of adults that made my blood boil.
The bottom line for “diversity” is, I don’t need to get in touch with my Inner Bigot.
I refuse to feel guilty for who I am, or for the provenance of my birth, just because a few cynical, authoritarian-minded, proto-Thought-Police feel that politically correct victim-groups need me as an “oppressor” to explain the life results they get from their own world view.
I don’t have anything to “prove” - including proving that I’m not a bigot.
As far as “diversity” is concerned, in our society there are three basic kinds of racist:
1. The old, cracker-style racist epitomized by Bull Conner, the KKK and George Wallace. Not extinct yet, but also no longer given the respect or influential place in society they once had.
2. The new-style condescending racist. To feel superior themselves, these people secretly believe that “people of color” are inherently inferior, and must be held to a separate - and much lower - standard of personal achievement, social behavior and individual responsibility.
Condesending racists are malignantly narcisisstic; true racial equality is the last thing they want, because then there would be no “little brown people” dependent on them for soul-sucking programs like welfare and two-wrongs-make-a-right “fixes” like Affirmative Action.
Nothing infuriates condescending racists more more than a “person of color” wandering off the dependency reservation - Michelle could write and say much about that, I suspect.
3. The, “Everybody’s a racist but me!” racist. Easy to recognize by their obsession with ostentatiously finding racism in others. Arguably a subset of condescending racists, because they too need “oppressed peoples of color” to justify their self-image as crusaders for justice and equality; what distinguishes them from ordinary condescending racists is that “people of color” themselves can fit into this class (see Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton).
If these people can’t find real racist behavior, they’ll either make it up (e.g. Tawana Brawley and “Free Mumia!”) or fall back on mumbo-jumbo terminology like “structural racism.” What they’re interested in, aside from stroking their own egos, is to be able to dictate to others about how they should live, act and think at all times.
Not surprisingly, a lot of the “diversity” pushers come from this group.
What’s so bizarro-world in today’s climate of Political Correctness is that most of the focus on attacking “racist” behavior remains on the cracker-style racists - the one group that has already been thoroughly stigmatized and rejected - while the second and third groups thrive.
Even the term “diversity” is racist. Why not use a term like “individual” instead?
I remember going through some of this training when I was in the Navy during Billy’s time and the whole tail hook thing.
I don’t remember much, I’m sure it wasn’t just white males doing the deeds. What I do remember seemed to be a poor choice on the producers. The one presenting (in the video) for sexual harasment was a female blonde Lt. Love.
I wonder if it was a test.
While in Cabo San Lucas last year, walking along the marina, I had the opportunity to overhear two young Mexican teens joking around. Instead of the usual “Ai simon!” comment you hear frequently there, one said to the other, “Negro, por favor!” I’m sure they didn’t learn that from the whitey culture!
Since when is diversity a more noble goal than say honestly. In my corporate experience, I’d say honesty training would be far more beneficial.
Further, I’m a bit confused about this whole diversity thing. As far as I can tell - a shark isn’t interested in diversity, neither is a squid. Squirrels don’t seem too interested in it either. Nor are chipmunks. The squirrels and chipmunks seem to do ok on the tolerance thing but I’m not so sure they go out of their way to worry about affirming the other. So please explain to me why diversity is some high goal?
Guessing here but I’d posit that the suits upstairs probably felt the same way (that it was stupid) but in today’s litigious society, they were worried if they didn’t force the non-sence down everybody’s throat, they would be even more liable if something did happen. It was a “defensive” move.
I had to go to one on Sexual Harassment some years ago. When I tried to ask for a firm definition of what constituted sexual harassment, I was tagged as a trouble maker and told they’d “keep an eye on me”. Turned out that sexual harassment was whatever the lady decided was harassment. That was the end of complimenting a lady on a new hair style or a new pair of shoes.
This is like those anti-white Washinton Mutual ads that nobody seems to think are wrong in any way.
Washington Mutual, sorry
Now, THAT’S funny to this Billie Jane Cracker.
Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you, Michelle.
I tried to talk to an HR person about this once….oh boy. Not a conversation I would like to re-live. I’ve also been pulled into “Sexual Harrassment” accusations that I was not a part of but that another co-worker had heard a comment made to me by another male employee and flipped her biscuts….
Ridiculous!!!!
Our sensitivity trainer had nice gams.
No, seriously. I just don’t know what happened to treating people like human beings. If you watch the show “Mad Men”, you realize where this stuff had to come from. Sure, it is over dramatized, but there was a great deal of harrassment at one point. However, there has also been a great deal of blowback to the point where employers feel helpless aas if they have no recourse against horrible employees. They feel like if they fire someone they will be hit with a discrimination lawsuit within minutes of them being terminated or even disciplined for a minor infraction.
PC has once again taken things too far. I remember when I was 18, I went in to apply for a job as a Cal State Park Aide and was told by a Ranger friend of mine that there was no way I was going to get hired. I asked him why and he told me straight up that I was the wrong sex, color and religion. Once again, the goofy white guy…even though 25% injun, didn’t pay off.
Just treat others the way you would want others to treat your children. Never treat someone in any way that you would ever have to find yourself explaining yourself to your wife or mom.
Also remember…you are who you are when no one else is around.
The Seattle P.I., a paper of diversity, viewer ship down 40%. Other newspapers potentially will be extinct in ten years. Another victim of global warming.
What is this supposed white man’s guilt. Is it a DNA factor or is it something taught in our schools. And am I deficient if I don’t have it or rather resentful of the laws who do not protect all equally (let me know the next time you hear of a hate crime against white bread). The Jena 6 beating victim hospital bill was $14,000 but because he was not dead it does not count while the thugs were given a defense fund of $500,000 and a public defender. Folks, this is high diversity.
What has diversity ever promised and what has it ever delivered.
So tell me. What is the ultimate goal of diversity? Who gets to decide when or if we ever reach that goal?
Well at least you don’t have to undergo Prevention of Human Trafficing Training. I was forced to undergo this last year by the DOD, matter of fact every GI and Civilian employee had to put up with this crap too. I bet this type of training costs the Government and Private Sector millions of dollars in productivity a year. The PC crowd is way beyond their “jump the shark” moment in American history.
I am just waiting for these folks to start in with Shock collars. Anything you say that they deem as inappropriate…ZIIIIIIITTTTT. ZIIITTTTTTTTTT ZITTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.
It’s not going to end. It’s part of the liberal religion including global warming, free health care, and taxing the ‘rich’ don’t ya know?
I got the definition of diversity from Dilbert long ago:
Diverse = De longer I verk here di verse it gets.
The ultimate goal of diversity? To turn this country into a third world crap hole, just like the one all those diverse individuals came from, and the leftys can’t wait for. In the mean time I’ll just keep right on telling ethnic jokes, harassing women, and being a general pain in the @$$.To hell with’em if they can’t take a joke.
“More ferries than a Shakespeare play”? Huh? Were there a lot of ferries in Shakespeare plays?
By the way, those jokes were pretty weak.
How do we help Mr. Supple (with our $$$$) win the case? When he wins-we win.
This has been going on a long time and white people have laughed and gone along with it instead of rioting and protesting like minorities do. Watch TV shows, movies, and commercials - you will see the the same thing over and over. The white guy depicted as weak, ignorant, prejudiced and any number of other negative adjectives. Apparently the only time it’s funny is when the minority makes the white person look foolish. If you reverse things it’s declared racist.
Sadly, there are lots of liberals…er, now calling themselves progressives, here in Colorado. I’m not even sure that they’re well meaning because there are so many problems they aren’t addressing. At any time you are falling over all the bums sleeping around town. But as long as they keep building million dollar condos with private parking, the city patrons don’t have to be bothered.
I think all us “white guys” can handle all this really, really mean stuff people are saying about us. We do, after all, still hold an overwhelming monopoly on all the money and power in this country.
Mr. Mom2jack spent the summer jumping through hoops to become a firefighter. One test/presentation was a bunch of “scenarios” and the test taker must choose from multiple questions the “right” answer. So of course, they all involve the WHITE firefigher and how he interacts with victims of different races and sexual orientations, or how he and his brothers interact with minority co-workers. To which I mused, it sure seems to me like they plan on only hiring white males. Which would make it a racist organization. Diversity training backfires - again.
Snippet of a recap from Episode 2-5 of Rescue Me, titled, Sensitivity, where the crew has to go to sensitivity training. “Tommy” is Denis Leary, who is excellent in this episode (and series).
I see that a few people mentioned diversity in commercials… the ones that drive me crazy are for home security. It is always a white guy breaking into the house. Yeah, right.
Wife and I are trying to adopt thru the state of kentucky.I had to sit thru session about ‘race’which explained our founding fathers set up the system to keep minorities down and how the present day system is against minorities.Wanted to walk out but don’t want to let these ‘victims’ turn me away from helping those that really need it.
This diversity crap is so stupid. That guy in the video did nothing illegal. We do have free speech. He didn’t threaten anyone. We are not free from being offended. . . if we were, homosexuality would be banned because it offends many religious people (I guess that could be considered bigoted, but that just shows the absurdity of the entire exercise).
Telling off color jokes should be OK in America. If you are not threatening anyone, you should be OK legally. I’ve been called ‘cracker’ more than once - don’t care. I’m also quite sure that ‘gringo’ doesn’t hurt my feelings either.
This is just a cottage industry that the government is pouring billions of dollars into. It is a waste of time.
Here on the reservation, where white males are almost extinct, folks here have to blame their problems on themselves and non on the whiteman. I’ve always wondered if Mexico, Japan, Sweden, and other nations have such sensitivity training? If this is such a great thing why have not other nations adopted it?
I had fun with our two day diversity class in the AF.
The intellectuals brought up hundreds of diverse qualities that should be looked at besides the salient and narrow one that the moderators attempted to cast aside, skin color. Handedness (lefties are about 40% of the population) eye color, height, weight, IQ, left/right brained, artists, athletes, mesomorphs, etc.
It gave a whole new world to look at!

Mom2Jack:
You don’t know the half of it. In our department, they opened up a whole little sub department with the sole purpose of recruiting only blacks. They go only to minority functions and black work fairs, predominantly black schools etc. They take black firefighters off the line to go and give presentations. etc. They started a program to get firefighters in as paramedics since they could not get the black community interested in it and were not hiring any other race. After all that, they were still farced to eventually hire others, as they still could not get blacks to hire on. It still boiled down to interest in the job, the ability to pass the tests, and the ability to do the job.
Yet no one at any time made a single noise in the paper or anywhere else about the blatant racism of the program which is still going on to this day, and even has it’s own office downtown run by a captain and a chief.
Retfireman/mom2jack;
I understand this perfectly well, its definately affected the US military and there was a time in the recent past where a persons ethnicity was a basis for promotion vice test scores and evals.
At U of M, we generally have two types each club on campus-one for African-Americans, and one for everybody else. Imgaine; two chemistry clubs, two future teacher clubs, seperate fraternity/sorority, and etc.. The sad thing is that my tutution is paying for this garbage. The noteable exception is one for foreign students that helps them understand American culture.
Of course, I will say enough is enough when we start having seperate graduations as this has been discussed by various students on campus since I arrived here.

Sorry the majority of white people do not hold all the money and power. Most white people are in the same boat as everyone else. I’m so tired of hearing this bogus excuse as if white people get everything handed to them on a silver platter when the truth is the majority of white people work very hard for everything they have and then get belittled for having done so well.
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
Now how does the content of these tapes and the message they are sending gibe with this statement by MLK?
That being said, I had one of those “diversity” classes, and I got up and asked if I could use the work niggardly at work.
The teacher almost choked! It was a sweet moment. I was able to run rings around her logically.
