Open-borders militant deportee Elvira Arellano –whom the Associated Press now dubs “a Mexican migrant-rights advocate”–may have been kicked out of the U.S., but that isn’t stopping her from continuing to lobby on behalf of illegal aliens still in the U.S. She’s been on a hunger strike in Mexico protesting workplace raids in the U.S.:

A Mexican migrant-rights advocate deported from the U.S. said she began a hunger strike Friday to push her government to demand its citizens receive better treatment north of the border.

Elvira Arellano, a former illegal migrant who turned to activism during a yearlong fight to stay in the U.S., said she was holding the hunger strike “because I want our government to listen, to act, to defend our migrant families.”

Speaking to a group of Mexican migrant activists, Arellano decried U.S. efforts to jail illegal migrants, put up security fences on the border and step up deportations.

“Is Mexico prepared to receive all of these deported people and their families?” Arellano said on the opening day of the “First Parliament of Mexican Migrant Leaders Who Live in the U.S.”

“Is it prepared to guarantee an education to their children, who are U.S. citizens? Or is it prepared to defend them against all these attacks?” she said.

The two-day conference, gathering Mexican-led activist groups and U.S.-based non-governmental organizations, kicked off on the floor of Mexico’s lower house of Congress. Along with opposing aggressive anti-immigrant measures in the U.S., participants are asking Mexico to reform its own laws by decriminalizing the migration of Central Americans and others to Mexico.

They also insist Mexico work to improve economic and social conditions at home to stem the tide of migration.

Gee, wouldn’t that be novel?

Meanwhile…O’Hare workers arrested in alleged fake ID scheme:

Federal and local law enforcement agents raided several warehouses Wednesday at O’Hare International Airport and arrested 24 workers who were allegedly in the country illegally and using phony security badges for jobs on the tarmac, cargo areas and other restricted zones.

Also arrested Wednesday in a probe federal authorities said “identified national security vulnerabilities” were two company managers at Ideal Staffing Solutions Inc., a temporary employment agency in Bensenville. The firm allegedly hired the workers and provided them with deactivated airport security badges that allowed them to work at O’Hare, immigration officials said. Ideal Staffing managers also knowingly allowed workers to lie about their identities on airport security applications, officials alleged. They said they’re still investigating whether there are more related security risks at the airport.

“Most of these workers loaded pallets, freight and meals for companies doing business at O’Hare,” including commercial airlines such as United Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Qantas Airways, said Elissa A. Brown, special agent-in-charge of the Chicago office for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“The government can’t be too vigilant when it comes to airport employees gaining access to secure areas, especially if they lie about their identities and we have no idea who they are, and what their true intentions may be,” Brown said.

Arellano was arrested at O’Hare in 2002.

    Ms. Arellano’s arrogance is what gets my goat. She entered the US illegally had a child here and somehow she thinks the US owes her something. She would have garnered more sympathy had she humbled herself and realized that being a US citizen is a lagniappe for those who rightfully seek it. It isn’t for those who think it is their right to be here because they got knocked up and managed to circumvent the system.

    She is the epitome of the entitlement mindset. If she wants to become a US citizen – there’s some paperwork she needs to complete and a waiting list. Get.In.Line.

    Its not like it used to be. Come in, speak english resonablly, have proof of a place to say and pledge and oath of Loyality. And of course no criminal Record of a serious manner.

    Now adays, well currently you need several documents, the averge cost to get them all up is around 1800 dollars. And you have to get them all at once. Also you must have a sponser who has had an “acceptable” income for the past three years in current tax returns for 3 years. No criminal convictions of any sort.

    From that the amount needed is around 21-5 thousand for two people a year, and 7 thousand per additional person. Which is actully far higher than what US services say is the min. needed for social services. For instance the US SS Services says a family of three should make it fine on 19-20 thousand. And in the end you can spend all that money meet all the criteria and still be told no, thrown out. And also worse yet for a family if you come LEGALLY and the paper work takes longer than 6 months and your told no(as it often does), you can not for any reasson enter the US again for 10 years. And in the end thats to be just a resident, after a few years and another thousand bucks (current Citizenship fee is $800, not taking into acount processing fees) The current system is highly biased in favor of the Rich.

    My Great Grand Father was ethnically German, he came after WW1 was a soldier in the German Army, with little education and had not a penny to his name. He passed the loyality test and landed a job in US Indian Sercives in North Carolina, and rose to one of the highest spots, even married the Chiefs daughter. Money, and precived education is not a meassure of Loyality, Ability, OR Merit.

    And with my (Most Do) comment I ment that the processing normally takes longer than the legal time to stay in country, even though your legally not allowed to leave. If you pass, good, if you don’t, well you’ll land at the nearest airport or bus station/port of your home nation Reguardless of where your from in said nation.

    Mexico could be a prosperous nation if they would get it together but it is up to it’s own people to take the reigns, the problem is the people are to busy coming to the U.S. and sucking the life out of our financial system. Something for nothing attitude.

It’s about $70 per month here. Send more money to these guys? No, they have not be devastated by a war or genocide, they have done this to themselves.

    Besides the examples already given here, what about the havoc they wreak on our social services infrastructure? What about the identity theft? The killing of innocents while driving drunk after sneaking back into the country? Changing the argument doesn’t magically make something “illegal” turn into something “legal”.

    One we let Mexico try and fail to fix the problems as it has since the mid 1800’s. Only way to stop that is Genocide of the Left, or a Militarian rule.
