Update 7:13pm Eastern. Guess which network the hostage-taker was trying to contact?

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer reported that Mr. Eisenberg had been calling the cable network’s Washington bureau throughout the afternoon. Mr. Blitzer said that Mr. Eisenberg had been complaining about the mental health care system in the United States.

“Eisenberg was scheduled to appear in Strafford County Superior Court at 1:30 p.m. Friday with his wife for a domestic violence hearing.”

Update 6:23pm Eastern. Last hostage–a male campaign worker–is released. Eisenberg surrenders. WMUR has video.
Update 5:40pm Eastern. Another hostage reportedly released. Foster’s Daily Democrat, a local newspaper, identifies the suspect as Leeland Eisenberg of Somersworth. WMUR adds that Eisenberg had sought “roadside flares” before the incident.

Monday, June 11, 2007 With the help of a resident who called to report a suspected drunken driver on Washington Street, police charged Leeland Eisenberg, 46, of 182 Milton Road, Apartment 16, Rochester with driving while intoxicated.
7:51 p.m. –Leeland Eisenberg, 46, of Milton Road, 16, is charged with two counts of stalking.
Foster’s Daily Democrat has learned the suspect who took hostages at the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign headquarters is Leeland Eisenberg of Somersworth, who is well known to police in Rochester.

The Rochester Police Department was trying to be proactive and help the citizen’s of Rochester from thieves and what they got was a slap in the face.
For every minute that Capt. Dumas has to spend dealing with the antics of Leeland Eisenberg it is one less minute he has to spend helping someone with something important. Mr. Eisenberg is wasting the time and the money of the taxpayers.
Police officers risk their life every day helping people, and to make them question if they should put a piece of paper in a car is just wrong.

Troy A. Stanley, 44, of 201 Sofield Apartments, Rochester was charged with suspended registration and driving after revocation or suspension at 12:56 p.m. on July 27. He will appear Sept. 14 in Rochester District Court.

Update 4:35pm Eastern. Rochester PD press conference starting shortly. (Update - It’s started, but PD is not giving out much info due to fluid situation of the investigation.) WMUR reports Stanley was in the middle of a divorce, had been drinking for 72 hours, was “not in the right state of mind.”
Update 3:54pm Eastern. ABC - Three total hostages released. Two adults and a baby. Suspect’s weapon described as a pipe bomb.
FNC identifying the suspect as Troy Stanley and describing him as a conspiracy theorizer. Mother reportedly negotiating to get him to surrender.
Question to MSM: If we–or you–start Googling “Troy Stanley,” does that qualify as “stalking,” too?
Update 3:26pm Eastern. WBZ reporting that there are two more hostages still in the office. WMUR and ABC reporting that the suspect is an older man with a history of mental illness who told his son to watch the news today.

Update 2:29pm Eastern. Unconfirmed reports: Hostage-taker is demanding to talk to Hillary.
Edwards’ office evacuated.
Update 2:15pm Eastern. FNC’s Major Garrett reporting that Hillary Clinton has canceled a speech event in Va. WMUR reports that it has confirmed through law enforcement that two campaign workers are being held.
Several elementary and middle schools are on lockdown.

An armed man has taken people hostage at the Hillary Clinton campaign office in Rochester, police said.
It was not clear how many hostages there were or what weapons the man has. Police have set up a command post near the office on 28 North Main St.
Will monitor it.
Pray that it turns out alright and that no one is hurt.
WDHD is reporting Rochester has been evacuated after a bomb threat.
Take with a grain of salt, but here’s one eyewitness report from WMUR:
“A young woman with a 6-month or 8-month-old infant came rushing into the store just in tears, and she said, ‘You need to call 911. A man has just walked into the Clinton office, opened his coat and showed us a bomb strapped to his chest with duct tape,’” witness Lettie Tzizik said.

Guy’s name is Troy Stanley and complains of conspiracy theories and the government has done something to his head. According to Fox News.

The hostage taker is Troy Stanely, a mid 40’s white man from Rochester. He has developed a recent deterioration in his mental health claiming government conspiracies and government surveilence bugs in his head. His mom is negotiting with him to get him out.
Oh yes, Hillary. That strong, decisive leader at work.

Hope everyone comes out safe. And nothing blows up.
Hillary should not speak with the nut. No negotiating with terrorists. Hostage taking is terrorism.

Fox was reporting this man had been making several “conspiracy” threats over recent months. From the sound of things, he sounded like he was not mentally quite there (not that that condones the behaivor).

I still hope all ends well but I’m still questioning Hillary closing her Iowa offices. Serious folks. Why, when they know the perp, know his condition, and know that he’s acting alone close the Iowa offices? Could it be possible that they see Obamination winning in Iowa and then they point back to “Having been forced” to close the offices in Iowa hurt them? I guess my biggest concern is how the Clinton War Room will spin this to earn sympathy improving her poll numbers.

Any candidate, Republican or Democrat, who had been in Hillary’s shoes today would make the exact same statement she made, thanking law enforcement and expressing concern for her volunteers. That’s not politcal. It’s human.
It is sad that there are those out there with mental problems. But, I still do not believe that socialized medicine is the answer.
He wanted to discuss health care, so he demanded to see the ‘queen’ of healthcare Hillary. I guess he has some ideas for her to add to her ‘healthcare list of to-dos’..
And, no there is nothing wrong with her contacting the family and the police for handling the event apppropriately. But, to make a ‘media’ event about this will undoubtedly be milked as far as a Clinton can milk it, for sure.

This was horrible today and I feel so sorry for those who experienced this first hand. They must have been frightened beyond belief!
With that said, the person should be punished to the fullest extent of the law that did this. I am not a hillary fan but I am a fan of our election process and when ANY candidate has this type of horrible scare…..it is horrible and is a stain on democracy imo.

3. This guy is likely a registered Democrat as the issue he put his life on the line for is mental health care entitlement. When this fact comes out, it will lead to all sorts of conspiracy theories concerning the Clintons. Rush said as during the crisis that nothing happens on accident with the Clintons.
