The city museum of The Hague has decided not to include in an exhibition a work of art that may offend Muslims, it was reported on Monday. The picture, made by Iranian artist Sooreh Hera, is entitled Adam and Ewald and shows two gay men wearing masks of the Muslim prophet Mohammed and his son-in-law Ali. It is part of a photoseries the Gemeentemuseum has included in the 7up exhibition due to open on December 15. The Gemeentemuseum’s director Wim van Krimpen told reporters the museum is interested in purchasing Hera’s complete series, which he called “high quality works of art”. However, he added he will not exhibit Adam and Ewald in the next few years because “certain people in our society might perceive it as offensive”.
Hera responded she was “disappointed” and added “apparently a Muslim minority decides what will be on display in the museum”.

Gillian Gibbons may be “pardoned” …
Sudan released a British woman given a presidential pardon today after being jailed for insulting religion and handed her over to British officials, an embassy spokesman said.
“We can confirm now she’s in British embassy custody and our officials are with her,” Omar Daair told AFP by telephone refusing to give any further details on her precise location.
…but infidels received the message loud and clear:
A British children’s author who called one of his characters Mohammed the Mole to promote multiculturalism has renamed him Morgan so as not to offend Muslims.
Kes Gray said the case of British teacher Gillian Gibbons, who has been jailed in Sudan for allowing her class of primary school children to name a teddy bear Mohammed, had prompted him to postpone a reprint of his book, Who’s Poorly Too, and change the name.
“I had no idea at all of the sensitivities of the name Mohammed until seeing this case in Sudan,” Gray told The Sunday Times.
“As soon as I saw the news I thought, ‘Oh gosh, I’ve got a mole called Mohammed - this is not good’.”
Gray’s book, which has sold 40,000 copies in Britain and overseas, also featured the characters Dipak Dalmatian and Pedro Penguin in an effort to be “inclusive”.

Even the popular little boy in Mrs. Gibbons’ class who suggested the name for the bear came to her defense, explaining that he named the bear after himself.
Yet, when asked by FOX News for a comment about the situation, a National Organization for Women spokeswoman said they were “not putting out a statement or taking a position.”
This is how depraved the American left has become. A little Muslim boy in Sudan shows more courage and conviction for a woman under fire than a bunch of women sitting in Washington, D.C., who preen themselves on being the premiere “advocates” for women.
It’s been apparent for years that the American feminist establishment is nothing more than a shill for the shallow leftists in the Democrat party, wrapping themselves in the feminist label for convenience. Groups like NOW and Eleanor Smeal’s Feminist Majority, also amazingly silent in the past five years about Islamic terrorism and violence against women, use women’s issues as nothing more than slogans and chants in their efforts to gain political power.
Their vile silence isn’t limited to the Gibbons situation. In Saudi Arabia, a gang-rape victim has been sentenced to 200 lashes and 6 months in prison. Why? Because when she was raped, she was violating Sharia law by being out with a man who was not a relative. Her sentence was actually increased when she dared to appeal her sentence.
What has NOW’s and the Feminist Majority’s response been to this obscene outrage? The same silence offered to Gillian Gibbons. Nothing, because God forbid we should be reminded that there is a disturbed enemy out there worth fighting, and God forbid that for one moment we should suggest that the United States might not be heinous imperialist the left casts us to be.

I see this whole brouhaha as yet more Petro-Dhimmitude - a BBC story hinted that this incident may have been related to Britain’s efforts to block ethnic cleansing and forced Islamization in Darfur - the story I saw claimed the Sudanese protestors were using pre-printed signs which indicates some planning.
I say “Petro-Dhimmitude” because if the Arab and North African Muslims (who make up the majority of the malignant Muslims and spread this malignancy via their massive oil-wealth) didn’t have any oil, we’d never hear boo about Islam - Islam would be just another retrograde Third World religion.
In an earlier post Michelle commented on why Amnesty International etc. have remained silent; I’ll offer the opinion Amnesty etc were asked by the British to let their Foreign Ministry handle the situation; AI involvement could lead to a hardening of the Sudanese position.

Actually, conversion will probably not help you either. They are very picky about whom they allow to join their ranks. I do not know what exactly their requirements are but I am quite certain I could never pass muster as a convert and daresay, I would not even bother to attempt such an act of “appeasement”.
As for the “Freedom of speech for me but not for thee” screaming protesters; they would still be the first ones lined up on the wall. That to me, is perhaps the most ironic part about the “progressive thought process” such as it is.

I’m very glad that she is with the British. Thank goodness. All this shows is the tremendous power Islam has over the citizens. Christianity went through its fanatical phase too, where the Church oversaw everyone and everything. It keep Europe in stagnation for hundreds of years. Though the science/technology was there, the Church condemned anything it didn’t agree. It took moslems at that time to help bring Europe out of the “Dark Ages”. Now the radicals are trying the same thing; power vs advancement. Europe beat back the moslem invasion in 1492(Granada). With today’s technology, a war with Islam seems, not only inevitable, but costly to both. The West has to stand up to Islam now, otherwise history will be repeated. Moderate moslems, too, need to defy radicalism.
Before I stake my hopes on Moderate Muslims, I’d like to know what they believe. For instance, do they believe it’s okay to name a teddy bear Mohammad or do they think the punishment in this case was just too severe. I have a feeling I wouldn’t particularly like what Moderate Muslims want either.

Not really sure when this all started with them. It had to be something small. They learned, as dogs do, by repetition. In a religion where the males are named Mohammed as often as Mexican Catholics are named Jesus, to have them show anger and call for the slaying of an elementary school teacher because she agreed to the naming of a teddy bear after the studant who owned who was also named Mohammed just shows the insanity at it’s best. Was there any calls for the child’s slaying? After all, how many children in that school, who eat and defecate, run through mud and God knows what else, are named Mohammed? To have this woman arrested in the first place, face a caning of 40 lashes and possible death, to face vigilante squads in the streets that have been reved up by their religious leaders then sent out with knives and swords to call for her death…countless members of whom are named Mohammed…is the utmost in their hypocrisy.
However, it worked anyway. Rather than people saying “Enough”, putting their foot down, governments putting limits on these types of demonstrations, the calling for the harm of another person be they public officials or private, and basically the cessation of any and all Islamic foolishness and idiocy, they istead use this experience to once again show that their tantrums and threats will work. It will have authors change their stories of inclusion. It will have people second guess themselves in public. It will make Liberals make ridiculous public apologies for insulting their “religion” for no reason or for perceived offenses when really, none has taken place.
Is this what it takes to get respect? While the Left complains about the Separation of Church and State as well as the far and away Spanish Inquisition, (which killed far less people during the entire time it was in effect than just one year of any Islamic Jihadi fun fest) maybe what needs to happen is have Christians take to the streets and start chanting about “Death to the Hippe” and “Jesus Cuts the Heads Off The Non-Believers” Or, since the Libs seem to support Palestine and think of the Jews as the bad guys with all their anti-Senitic talk, maybe the Jews should take to the streets in a similar fashion, making similar threats. Maybe some people should vanish as well, with bodies turning up all over the placve so that people know they are serious. Would the talk stop? would we get our way? AP reports Canada called the rape case trial “barbaric” and the White House called it “outrageous”. This really ticked off the Saudi’s who don’t like anyone criticizing their system of law. A hundred or so here, a thousand there…they hit the streets in droves, are all over the internet, are in Iraq, Afghanistan, run Myranmar, Sudan, Syria, Palestine, Libya, taking over Africa, the Philippines, Shari’ah law is becoming more prevalent than the Rule of Law in more countries around the world every day. Why, people are allowing it to happen in Denmark and other places in Europe because after all, to not allow them to govern themselves in a way they are accostomed to based on their religion shows that you are Islamophobic and not exactly PC or a truly Multi-Cultural society. They are even attempting to do that very thing in several cities in this country as well, claiming that if they allow Shari’ah law to be used “is addition to” our laws, it will help to curb crime due to the way it does not permit alcohol, crugs etc.
In England, there is a major Islamic group which is using Multi-Cultralism and PC to make headway into government and to insist that London and other cities adopt Shari’ah laws because it is the best way to run their country Islam can teach so much to these barbarians since they will not allow women to dress like tramps and force them to dress “more moderately”, keep people from drinking, keep people from fornicating etc.
That is the moderates talking. Those are the ones that are NOT marching in the streets calling for people’s heads. These are the ones that the governments are negotiating, and then people wonder why enormous mosques are being erected places and no one is stopping their immigration or keeping them from changing laws to suit them.
Why does no one hear from Moderate Muslims and why do the Moderate Muslims take to the streets in even larger numbers since they supposedly outnumber thse “radical” muslims to downplay their message and tell the world that the radicals are “hijacking” the religion and not all Muslims bellieve that and yadda yadda yadda?

The moderate muclims believe the way the radicals do, have the same teachings and such, they just are not militant about it and do not believe in using the same methods to acheive the same goals. they all believe in the koran. they have to do more than just denounce them. This requires so much more than words. they need to reign them in. It is these so-called “moderate” muslims that are required…no…MANDATED to go after and arrest, try and either imprison and/or execute each and every one of these so-called “radicalised” muslims for the crimes they are guilty of. They need to clean their own house. they all know who and where they are. this can be easily and quickly done if they really wanted to. The thing is, they do not want to. They could easily turn these people in to the FBI or Secret Service or NSA or whomever, but they don’t. They stay silent and send their donations every week in silent support of their organizations. they help them in every way they can, which includes the most important one they know…their overwhelming silence.

It is similar to the porn industry. Look at how many millions and millions of people publically denounce porn. Look at how many men…Liberals and Conservatives included, say it is disgusting, it is degrading to women and so forth. Yet it is one of the biggest industries we have in this country. It has been, since the inception of the Internet, the leading search item on the Web, and it makes multi-billions of dollars a year. For something that apparently no one watches, sees or buys, it sure is a popular item that makes a fortune. Same with “radical” Islam. For something that alledgedly is only done by such a small minority of deranged and misguided followers, it sure is incredibly well funded, well organised, highly motivated, well placed, well armed and incredibly difficult to find and arrest with police and army units that are uncooperative in the task at doing anything to stem the tide no matter what country you are in. In Pakistan, why are the Taliban allowed to roam the mountainous areas with impunity? In Iraq, why is Al Waeda allowed to raom around and plant bombs with impugnity? How about Palestine? Syria? Libya? Sudan? Somalia? Chechnya? Bosnia? Paris? Is it because of all the Moderates who are tired of their religion being hijacked by these radicals and thus being looked down on by the non-believers and treated poorly by those that aren’t muslim? Hell no. Instead, they tell us that we need to change. We need to understand their rage and we need to adapt ourselves ro their religion until finally these animals no longer have anything to be mad about. This translates into converting to their form on Islam. It was laid out to us by Osama in one of his Ultimatums…and even if we were to do that, it still was no guarantee simply because in his mind we were still guilty of heinous atrocities against muslims in the past.
the true minority muslims are the ones you speak of, that are fighting against the terrorists. And for their efforts, they have been disoned by their families and communites and are no longer welcome. That means by those “moderates” too. That is just how much the moderates want the “radicals” to stop. Just ask the Islamic Group leaders in Londonistan.

I’m having some serious issue Gillian Gibbons saying that she would stay and go back to work tomorrow if they would let her. Reminds me of the situation where a guy is beating on a woman, a good samaritan steps in and stops him and when the police show up to take him to jail she starts the whole, “But I love him. Don’t take him to jail,” routine. People all over the world, especially here were outraged on her behalf and she wants to stay and be all cuddly with the people who want to kill her. Puts her at a whole new level of doesn’t get it.
This incident once again reinforces that the root cause of islamaphobia is islam.

As far as Savage’s law suit against CAIR, I mentioned it on another thread. It looks as though if he is successful, which he just very may well be if I have read it correctly, ol CAIR may have to fold up shop and take their hate mongering, race baiting, terrorist supporting butts someplace else.
