I'd like to see just what the FBI classifies as a "hate crime". If I were a betting man, my money would back the pony that said the Muslim statistics are somewhat fudged to increase the numbers.

The government is more than overly sensitive when it comes to appearing to bend over (and not backwards) to appease Muslims. I mean, just look at the recent debacle at Annapolis - the Jewish delegates were not permitted to even use the same entrance as their Muslim counterparts. And the ridiculous BS with the FBI/CIA agent and her Marine Officer sister.

I am certain that murder is included in those staticstics. I am also certain that Jews have been murdered in this country by others. How many Muslim murders are in that data? Attempted murders? Felonious assaults? Other violent crimes? My guess is zero. My guess is based on the fact that if anything like that did occur, CAIR and the MSM would have made it page one news.

I'd like to see a breakdown of violent hate crimes, versus property hate crimes and other categories such as name calling or the like.

Someone's got a new /sarcasm tag...oh how cute.

Oh and Blind_Mule...it's not kosher to make fun of the way people talk while failing to spell correctly. All in the same sentence. (Especially because the comments "definatley" have spell check)

On December 4th, 2007 at 2:13 am, txvet2 said:
The Jews have been ostracized since the establishment of Christianity because the Jewish mob called for the crucifixion of Christ and the release of the thief Barabas. Doesn’t matter that it was preordained, they were (in theory, anyway) exercising free will, and therefore were culpable.

I am very bothered by this thinking for several reasons:
1). Jesus said Himself that no one would take His life from Him, but that He would give it up freely. The whole reason that He came was to be a sacrifice for our sins. His death wasn't a mistake, it was the culmination of God's plan for our ultimate redemption. It was made necessary by me, personally, by you personally, and by everyone who has ever sinned, personally. I cannot fathom blaming a group of people for that which I myself caused and from which I benefit.

2). Acts 2:23 tells us that God Himself handed Jesus over to a group of Jewish people who handed him over to a group of Roman people who put Him to death. As a parallel, think of the story of Joseph being sold into slavery: his brothers (the Jewish patriarchs) gave him to Ishmaelites, who in turn sold Joseph into slavery in Egypt. But as Joseph himself made clear, God was the one who allowed it to happen, "in order that many lives would be saved." (Gen. 50:20).

3). The "Jewish mob" that you seem to say brought punishment upon the whole Jewish people was likely not very large, considering that it was very early in the morning, still dark. In addition, I don't believe that they had the ability to bring all the guilt on themselves (let alone on all Jewish people) by the "curse" they uttered anymore than Pontius Pilate had the ability to absolve himself of all guilt by merely washing his hands and saying so.

4). Don't dare discount that the horrors that the gentile followers of Jesus visited on the Jewish people the past 2000 years played a large part in their continued rejection of Jesus. To do so is like shoving them in the mud and then chastising them for being dirty. The "Christkiller" charge is one of the most insidious things that the church has allowed herself to be poisoned with and it has to be ripped up, root and all.

Lastly, in regards to your comment about Jewish involvement in financial matters: the Jewish people were forced by both Christians and Muslims into the role of banker and money-lender, as charging interest was considered wrong by both groups. Jews were also frequently prevented from various trades, both by law and by practicality; farming isn't exactly a safe livelihood when you can be chased from your home and have your land and possessions seized at the whim of the Christian rulers around you. Money/jewels are much easier to flee with.

In Texas, WarTip, its " Wayell, Jedge, he jest needed
killin'."
I don't like the term Hate Crimes because it makes it
seem as if it is somehow worse to hurt one group in
society as opposed to another. If you kill a person,
how is it worse that he's an homosexual, or black than
that he is white or Asian?

the reason that anti-semitism lives, is that they are a sign to the world that God exists and that He blesses. when you have evil, they want to blot out the truth that yes God does exist and yes He blesses.

Well, given how many innocent people muslims slaughtered world wide in 2006; given the Danish cartoon riots; given their riots against Pope; given, well, here, MM has a post about it and called 2006 the "year of perpetual outrage" due to all the muslim riots around the world.
http://michellemalkin.com/2006/12/20/2006-the-year-of-perpetual-outrage/

The only surprising thing is that there are not a whole lot more hate crimes against muslims. The fact that we are not out in the streets protesting them at every turn and don't have news about random acts of violence against their communities nightly despite their continuous violent and petty provocations, shows what a restrained and truly great country America really is.

I have said it before, I'll say it again, and I'll keep saying it until it is shouted from the mountain tops: the root cause of islamaphobia is islamic behavior.

I was going to say something along the lines of Mark (#36) and least (#37).

This is no different from the global warming religion, using a relative low spot in global temperatures as a starting point for themany of the figures they base their warming claims on.

Of COURSE it's dropped since 2001. In 2001 there would have been a huge spike due to 9/11.

All we can truthfully derive from that graph, is that it the number has stayed stable since recently, instead of rising rapidly as CAIR would have us believe.
