Tracking a “diversity” huckster
The blogosphere is monitoring the travels and travails of diversity training huckster Glenn Singleton.
Hans Bader reports:
He claims that “white talk” is “verbal, impersonal, intellectual” and “task-oriented,” while minority talk is “emotional.” He also blames white teachers for the minority achievement gap, saying that racism is “ubiquitous” among whites, even though the gap is equally present in classes taught by minority teachers, and even though Asians, who are non-white, have higher average grades than whites in many school systems. And he claims that Mark Twain was a racist, even though Twain fought racism in an era when racism was sadly popular.
But so deep is the politically correct rot in the schools that Singleton has been hired not only by U.S. school systems and colleges, but also by a misguided school board in Nova Scotia, Canada (the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board).
This is deeply ironic. Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms doesn’t have strong protection for free speech akin to the First Amendment, so racist speech in public is banned in Canada under its so-called “human-rights” codes. Any white school teacher who said the offensive things that Singleton says about minorities — that their speech is not “intellectual,” “verbal,” or “task-oriented” — would be subject to prosecution by a human-rights tribunal. The same might even be true for a minority teacher. Yet Singleton gets paid big money — “a six figure fee” — to promote these offensive, racist stereotypes.

I think what sticks in my craw most, is that these purported “diversity” trainers assume that:
1 - they NEED to speak for all blacks
2 - rely on the victimization angle that is being fed to the black community “hand over fist” (Sharpton/Jackson)
3 - they assume the answer is to “lower the bar” (I am white, but the very concept to me, just seems a tad bit insulting).
4. - they are continuing to propagate segregation,,, whether they like it or not - with this “you are different” type theories.
Ridiculous. Insulting. Absurd.
this type of huckster feeds racism more than curbs the racism.

Consultant: if you’re not part of the solution, there’s good money to be made in prolonging the problem.
There’s two components to this particular problem. 1) the most vile, intolerant bigots are these so-called diversity experts and race pimps for multi-culturalism.
2) The taxpayers are being bent over and porked to fund this racist tossed salad madness. And your children, in tax payer supported govt. schools, are the main targets of this intolerant drivel.
Conclusion: there’s only one way to kill this govt. school pork monster. Starve it! Cut off the money, and these parasitic bigots, like glenn singleton, will have to find some other tax payer funded scam to hustle.
They’re your children, America. And it’s your money.
Glenn Singleton is a whacko. If what he says defines diversity, I don’t want any part of it.
Cut the NAACP some slack. If you noticed that your services were no longer needed because people were actually getting along and integrating racially all by themselves, what would you do? Would you slink off into obscurity or would you revive the good ol’ days by claiming “racism still exists and it’s worse than before?”
They did what they had to do to survive. There was no other way these highly educated black people could make a living.

Thanks feebs. These race hustlers/hucksters/baiters, or whatever, disgust me. They do more harm than good. And there are people out there how could actually use some help.
Totally crazy that educational institutions can’t spot these hucksters. One only needs to have paid attention sporadically in school to know that he’s a fraud. I’m shocked he isn’t preaching that Harriet Beecher Stowe was racist. After all, Uncle Tom, the beloved character who changed world opinion, is now an insult. Of course it’s an insult by people who don’t even know what his character was, but nonetheless, an insult.

Wow, this sounds eerily similar to what one of the school board members here in Rochester NY was saying this week. That white teachers can’t properly teach black students! This sounds pretty bigoted to me.
Everytime I read something like this, my blood boils. But, then I calm down and continue with what I was doing. I think most of us on here feel and react the same way. However, what can we do to make a difference? Can we all focus our efforts on something that would turn the tables? Think of the Gathering of Eagles and lighting up the switchboards during Shamnasty… what can we do here?

Racism is racism, regardless of the racial direction of the racism.
One way racism is no less racism.
Parents need to get out and protest this sort of crap by whatever mechanisms available. I don’t want to spend all my time “unteaching” my daughter! Of course, she will know better right from the beginning, and probably laugh at the diversity clown!
And people wonder how charletins like Ward Churchill and Glen Morris keep thier jobs.
Promote victemhood and twist the truth to fit your political agenda. Don’t believe what they say about equality. They are all in it for the money. Worst capitolists ever.

Rush has often pointed out that liberalism is driven by emotion and that is very true. Common sense, logic, and rational thinking rarely comes into play with the left.

Just another example of diversity being the mother of incompetence. I will say the language of the black sub-culture: hip hop, athletes, comedians, gang members, dog trainers is mystifying and by definition, diverse. However, for the sake of diversity it will get you a law degree at Michigan, Michigan State, and Easter Michigan (I think Eastern offers specialization in Foot Bath Law).
When my children were young, they attended a chapter one elementary school where minorities outnumbered whites. One day my daughter’s hispanic teacher ridiculed her in front of the class for being “Miss Perfect” because she got straight A’s on all her work. This devastated my little girl, who thought the teacher would be proud of her for doing well. Luckily, she continued to do well in school because she had a mother who insisted she do her best no matter what others said about her. Had it not been years later before I found out about this incident, this teacher and I would have had a very “personal” and “emotional” talk.
I also had an Asian neighbor whose children did very well in school. I noticed that they were very involved in their children’s education and insisted they do their homework and more. I also noticed that other children (minority or otherwise) who did well in school also had at least one parent who was involved in their education and who insisted they do their best and do their homework. This is the key to achievement in school, not some PC nonsense about diversity and teaching styles.
My jaw is on the floor! I just can’t imagine any teacher doing that ever!
Seems to me like he’s saying that white people shouldn’t expect minorities to complete tasks or acheive goals, because they’re not capable of doing so.
I think that might be the most racist idea I’ve ever seen expressed, but my disagreement gets ME hauled off for re-education while the people he slimes applaud.
Speaking of Ebonics…
I once had a black teacher when I was in elementary school. During a spelling test, she called out the words and the students would write them on their paper to be graded. One of my words was marked as incorrect; I had spelled “flow”. When I showed my test to my mother she couldn’t understand why it was marked as mispelled. The next day, Mom went to the teacher. The teacher responded that it was… “not ‘flow’ but ‘flow’, you know the type of ‘flow’ that you walk on, F-L-O-O-R!”
That was nearly 40 years ago and Mom and I still laugh about that. Overall, my school years were exceptional and I actually learned things that have helped me to succeed. It scares me to read what is happening in the school systems now.

I pulled my kid out of school because of a similar “dont want the other kids to feel bad about themselves” kind of attitude. I dont care how the other kids feel, I want my kid to learn.

Now that I am aware of it I am more than willing to tell teachers and school kids that I’m a devil because I have pale skin and that because of that I use language to communicate ideas, concepts and information instead of to just talking smack about my boyz. This crap about how only whitey is “impersonal and intellectual” while minorities are “emotional” is damning evidence of what the diplomatic among us call the “soft bigotry of low expectations” but what I call condescending racism.
It falls apart on so many levels, it’s hard to know where to begin: the wholesale stereotyping of people by skin color, the glaring inability to reconcile why so many Asians don’t fit into the “poor little brown victims of white structural racism” corral, the masochistic pseudo-intellectual self-flagellation.
“Diversity” is just reverse-racism and two-wrongs-make-a-right foolishness that is the Emperor’s New Clothes of our time. Along with its handmaiden “Multi-Culturalism,” it has all but eradicated the old ideal of Pluralism; taken together, “Diversity” and “Multi-Culturalism” act like an AIDS virus on society, weakening the system from within until it no longer has the strength to defend itself.
If Glenn Singleton wants to find racists, all he has to do is look in the mirror. If he wants to defeat racism, all he has to do is jump off of a tall building.
I have often thought that just as the person that thinks every one is out to steal
from him is actually a thief at heart, I often think those that constantly scream
racism are actually the biggest racists. I know that I don’t seem to see racism
even 1/32 or less that these people do. I actually think that a lot of what they
think is racism is someone just being un-pc and I have to, at times applaud that.
We need less yelling about racism and more talk that doesn’t have to be filtered
through the pc screen.
I had an older cousin that somehow learned about Bill Dana and Jose Jimenez. He
used to do jose Jimenez for us and I thought it was hilarious. Not because I was
racist, but because it was funny. At the time we lived on the border and I would
have jumped in if anyone had insulted one of my Hispanic friends and guess what?
They too thought Jose Jimenez was funny.
Then why do some minority children call other minority children who do well in school “schoolboy” or “schoolgirl” or acting white? Is it possible that these same children can learn on their own with the help of a white or minority teacher?. Seems in a lot of cases they can. The secret to learning is wanting to learn and no matter of how much money is spent on students they won’t learn if they don’t want to.
